Dear Community. When I export a file using the ARD-ZDF HDF02a-1.1 Profile preset the MXF file has (among others) the following meta data (in MediaInfo): Color range : Limitedcolour_range_Original : FullThe file itself is encoded in "Legal Range" (like every common YUV encoded strem), but FFmpeg for example seems to interpret these files als "Full Range" (Premiere, Resolve are fine). As a result, all trancodes are "wrong" (lifted blacks/lower highlights). The "_Original" flags are the one from the stream, the tags witout the "_Original" are the flags of the container as far as I know.Where does the "_Original" flag come from? In my test the source was a ProRes (444 and 422HQ) file (Legal Range).Of course I am able to fix this issue during transcoding in FFmpeg, but sometimes I don't have the choice. To sum up: is the "colour_range_Original : Full" correct and necessary on ARD-ZDF HDF02a-1.1 Profile files?
I've been wanting this feature for years now; when I'm using ME to encode dailies for my clients, I'd love to have the option to choose which audio channels are included in the output. When I'm rolling 4 channels of audio on my camera and they're all included in the daily, the resulting audio is hot and clipped and noisy. I'd love to be able to just include channel 1 in the compression. Is this somehow possible?
I have been successfully using Clips Exporter for several months as a quick and convenient way to export multiple clips with the exported file name being the name of the clip – but a major problem has occurred in the last few days between Premier Pro 2023 and Media Encoder 2023.Now, when I export more than 10-15 clips at the same time, my Windows 11 system memory usage goes from about 45% to 100% until Premiere Pro crashes due to memory problems caused by memory usage at 100%.This only happens when I export to AME. If I export to Premiere Pro directly there's no problem. This means I have a clumsy workaround – but not having AME is a MAJOR impact on productivity! Memory usage for all Adobe products is set to 50% of my available 64GB of memory. Clearly, this limit has been exceeded since running this software combination is using up ALL 64 GB of memory. I've also had the memory usage for all Adobe products set to 75% and had the same problem. In the past, I have easily bee
why MKV format file isn't supported by Adobe because if it was, it would save us and we are wasting our time to convert it to another format that is supported by Adobe.
Using Media Encoder to render a batch of videos from Premiere is NOT rending the Knoll Light Factory plugin EVEN WITH the Rosetta option turned on. Premiere will render plugin in it's export option. M1 Mac StudioMonterey 12.6.1ME 23.4Premiere 23.4.0
Hi all,When converting a 1920x1080 video to h.264 at 400x224 800kbps avg, 1mbps max the quality of the conversion is insanely poor compared to other encoders. Text in particular becomes blotchy, soft and/or excessively low contrast. When using other encoding programs with the same setting the text quality is far more crisp and distinct. Quality in general is much better. Anyone have any ideas on how to improve ME quality when exporting to a very small video size like this? Does ME just not do tiny video size well or is there something I'm missing?Any suggestions are appreciated.
Win 10 ProPPRO 14.0.1 build 71AE 17.0.2 build 26AME 14.0.1 build 70 When I export from PPRO via AME, AME starts. When I click the green play button to start rendering nothing happens. Sometimes it keeps saying Reading XMP and displaying the blue but it doesn't start rendering. Reinstall of AME did not work. Checking/unchecking import PPRO sequences natively in AME did not work. Direct export from PPRO doesn't work also. I used self created (in AE) .mogrt file. Is that the problem? HELP please, have some clients waiting! Thanks,Levi

Hey, don't know if I've missed anything easy, but, I sometimes have livestream recordings that I didn't stop and I realize that 20 minutes, an hour after the end of the session. So what I need is pretty basic : keep the good part, trim the end (and yes, I can take the time to find where to make this one cut)When I do this in Media Encoder, it proposes to reencode the whole video (minus my cut), which takes a loooooong time, although it is set to "match" everything.I perfectly understand the need to re-encode, but I wonder if we could have a quick and dirty "cut here" version of the file, even if it requires to analize and reencode the last 10s of the cut movie and add a correct EOF.I suppose this should only take writing file to disc (I'm 20 minutes inside a trim video action right now, got too much time to think). Thanks
When I export my file from Premiere Pro to Media Encoder it does not show up in the export window. There is only a message where it used to show up saying "To add a watch folder, click the ADD floder button or drag the folder here from the media browser or desktop"
How do you fix the issue of the Media Encoder saying the file is damaged everytime you install the app after uninstalling it.
Did you know that you can bypass the Export Mode in Premiere Pro by pressing Option-Shift-M to send a sequence directly to Adobe Media Encoder. This shortcut has been added to Premiere Pro 23.3.
Hello, I have a ProRes file with 8 audio channels. I have to encode an h264 from this and only consider audio tracks 1 & 2 as a stereo mix. I can't find any options with the "h264-Preset", with the "Quicktime-Preset" I can find the option to map the audio, but I have no option to select h264 as the codec. am i too stupid or is the media encoder just not able to create such a file?
We have identified a file name issue affecting H.264 and HEVC/H.265 exports on Windows with Media Encoder 23.1 The issue impacts H.264 and HEVC/H.265 exports to folders with names that use double-byte characters, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or extended ASCII characters, like accents and umlauts. Affected users will see this message: File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of %filename.mp4%. Reading and writing this file’s metadata (XMP) has been disabled. We will inform you when a fix is available. If you are experiencing this issue, use one of these options: Choose an export destination folder that uses only single-byte ASCII English characters (no accents, umlauts, etc.) Export to a different format, such as Apple ProRes. For H.264 exports only: disable hardware-accelerated encoding.
I'm working on AME 23.0 (build 57), which I updated to back in February, however all of a sudden on Monday, the Effects tab (where you can add timecode/image overlays and watermarks, etc) has been removed. Where did this go? They're no longer visible on any of the EPR's I've created as presets, either.
So I spent a couple weeks diving into the 1.0 docs that were released last month (https://readthedocs.org/projects/ame-scripting-guide/downloads/pdf/latest/) and have gotten some things to work, namely launching AME command line with a JSX file and getting it to clear the queue, populate it and start rendering. But there are some functions that aren't working for me: I can't get the dynamic setting of FPS, Width, Height or Frame Range to work. I'm using the app.getFrontend().addFileSequenceToBatch() function to create an item from an image sequence, and my hunch is that those attributes are only supported with addFileToBatch for some reason. It would be HUGE if I could leverage that, right now I'm dynamically creating presets to do all but Frame Range setting and it works, but it's an unnecessarily heavy lift and creates tons of presets that need to be cleaned up.I can't figure out whether the writeln print statements go...they don't echo in a shell/console I can find and

Could someone please tell me how i can stop the looping of a gif when i export it in Adobe Media Encoder? I have designed an 8 second composition in After Effects and I want to save it as an animated GIF but only want it to play once, not continuously loop. Is there a way of doing this? Thanks
Since updating to the 22 version of AME, when a file finshes rendering it plays the sheep sound, and not the finished chime. These file are finished successfuly, but it plays the sound for a failed render each time. Is anyone else having this problem?
How to easily lose hours of render? Get your projecto into Media Encoder, Start render, go away to real work and wash some dishes and organize your house... go back to your computer with blackscreen monitor, press Esc to display your monitor.. discover your almost finished render is now aborted.. yeiih! Done.Already disabled Escape key shortcut to Abort, this won't happen to me again.
A lot of my work requires a lot of older formats. While I can do the same thing through After Effects I would love the option to select Straight Alpha or Premultiplied Alpha.
