It can be frustrating but my simple method is to use Ctr+Z (Windows) or Cmd+Z (Mac) For example if you click the eyeball you will get a visibility entry in the history panel. Turning visibility back on produces a second visibility entry. Pressing Ctrl+Z twice will take you back to the previous edit step. Continue editing and the visibility entries disappear.

When I launched the Editor today I was prompted that an update was available. The 26.1 build also updates Adobe Camera Raw to ACR 18 Camera Raw can be installeed from the Help menu if not previously installed.

I think Adobe is probably in the course of still rolling out the 26.1 update. For example there is no mention yet on the UK page only on the US page (link posted by Jeff) Normally updates are delivered automatically or when quitting the application depending on your pref settings. I guess it will take a little longer for Adobe to update the download links on that page and in your Adobe account - products tab. Until then, check out my YouTube Video for a sneak peek.

It is possible to make a collage manually. Simply create a blank document of the required size in the Advanced (Expert) mode and then use File > Place to add photos. I have a YouTube video showing this technique.

Once you have used the smart brush a new layer is created with a mask. Open the layers panel - see image. Select the background layer and then make your Enhance adjustments. They will only be revealed on your image in the white parts of the mask. The preview will then work.

I'm not seeing this problem with my raw files from my Canon EOS R5. The pixel dimensions are 8192 x 5464 and nothing is cut off. If you are shooting in Canon dual pixel raw you may need to use the editing software that shipped with your camera e.g. Canon DPP. If you still get problems you could download the Adobe DNG Converter app. You can batch convert a whole set of CR3 files quite quickly. DNG has no loss of quality and DNG files are more efficient than tiff files. https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/camera-raw/using/adobe-dng-converter.html

Try downloading from the products tab in your Adobe account. Click the link below to see your registered products. If you have only ever installed on one computer there should be no problem with de-activation as two installations are permitted. https://account.adobe.com/products

I have seen this message once, but only once. I worked out that it happened while a Windows update was taking place in the background. So a solid internet connection is required. Make sure you have nothing interrupting a wi-fi signal or wired connection.

Hi lmlevesque A work around is to import the DNG's into the Organizer and convert them. Select the thumbnails From the menu click File > Export As New Files I choose PSD which also support layers Choose Original for photo size Select Original Names unless you wish to rename Click the Browse button to choose a folder for the saved files Click Export Then go to the Editor and click File > Open in Camera Raw Browse to your new folder of exported images.

The folders possibly get created when you download the Add-On utilities from "Install Camera Raw" under the help menu. Rather than re-installing try creating the folders manually. Quit PSE 2026 and from Finder go to the plug-Ins folder and right-click anywhere within that folder and choose New Folder; then name it Elements 26 Then open the Elements 26 folder and right-click again and choose New Folder and name it File Formats Put Camera Raw.plugin into the File Formats folder Quit Finder and re-launch the PSE 2026 Editor Let us know of that works.

Your screenshot shows the plugin inside the CC folder (Creative Cloud) which is probably from your original download. It needs to use the Elements 26 path.

I'm not sure what the problem is unless you have an incomplete installation. Is everything else working? I gues you added the .plugin file to the File Formats folder and not the zip file? Do you see this when you go to: Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor > About Plugins > Camera Raw

Try my Dropbox download Camera Raw 17-5-1 For Mac Use the download button near top right. There is no need to have Dropbox account. Click the link to download without signing in. Double-click to open the zip file and use Finder to copy or drag Camera Raw.plugin into the File Formats folder at this location - Go Menu > Go to Folder: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Plug-Ins > Elements 26 > File Formats
