Hello everyone! I have been trying to recreate something I saw online for some time ago but with not much of luck,I am trying to skew some characters on a word using text animator but adjust also the space of the lettersso the skewed letters doesn't fall on the othersAny ideas would be much of a help.Cheers!

There is a problem which is driving me crazy for months now.We have multiple computers running After Effects, and there is a brand new PC with no expense spared components in it which just crashes really often (Intel Core i9-13900K with 128 GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 3060 Ti and a MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI) and a All other, much lower quality PC-s manage to continue working on the same comp, same AE version, same Windows, without problems. Its not a comp specific or effect specific thin, it can happen anywhere, even in  safe mode (both Windows and After Effects)I have tried updating drivers, stress tested each hardware compoment separately including RAM, CPU and GPU, installed it clean, run in safe mode, deleted 3rd party plugins, uninstalled RAM modules one by one, ran without GPU, updated BIOS, checked Event Logs, analized dump files, used driver verifier, tried basically all solutions found online without a result. So I reset my PC a few weeks ago and I freshly installed AE as well as my other softwares. Now while working AE randomly just runs out of memory and black screens my monitor for a few seconds, then gives me the whole error message shtick. I'm literally working with simple text layers and shape layers. No heavy VFX (although this shouldn't happen with that either). Changing the amount of memory AE can use in the settings doesn't help anything, nor does setting the AfterFX.exe task in task managers' priority to Low, as I intitally thought was helping. I'm running 32 GB RAM, 5800x3D, 3060 ti. What could i do to fix this?

Hello, I installed the sapphire plug in, and it works, but it has a big red X in the middle of the screen. If someone can explain to me how to remove the big X, I'd really appreciate it. I should also add, I downloaded the plug in from, BorisFX.

Hello all. I have a puzzle and could use an idea.i have a composition with thousands (almost 7000) of small circles - each its own layer. the design intent is to create a twinkle effect using each circle as a single pixel. I am trying to treat each circle as a single pixel and change the opacity based upon a single pixel in a second composition. I am currently using an expression to find the axis pixel of the circle and locate the brightness of a corresponding pixel in the second composition, and then set the opacity of the circle layer in the main composition.Also my comp is 8000x4000. All of this is needed for an elaborate video production event - the circles map to exact pixels on a video display and cannot move.  this is getting unweildy. so many layers starts bogging down the powerful mac that i have. Also, now if i want to go back and edit the expression, Id have to do it thousands of times. - Is there a way to have a global 'function' or expression and then be abl

Hey guys,I have a strange case where several extendscript methods are missing on my main computer, where they are present in my beta installation, or on fresh installations on other computers. I can't explain the difference in possibilities. Any help is much appreciated.What i've tried so far:Uninstall / reinstall every adobe appUninstall / reinstall every adobe app with the adobe cleaner tool. The difference can be seen when alerting a reflect of an array:var myArr = [];alert("reflect\r"+myArr.reflect.methods.join(","));This results in the following alert in my main pc:But this one on all other pcs/installations i've tried so far, including beta on my own main pc:Notice the methods at the end: indexof, filter and map.Any explanation would be most welcome. A potential fix would be perfect!Thanks guys!

I can't find a solid answer as to why my effects and plugins become unusable and can't interact with the window at all. I'll start off with saying I thought it was an imported plugin issue, but it's even happened with a fresh install with no imported plug ins. Reverted to a previous version, same issue. I keep having this issue off and on.  It's not matter of not being able to handle applying them.The only way to fix it is to completely start a new project and hope it works.Everything is up to date. Is this a bug I'm missing that's been reported or is there a simple solution I'm missing? 

Hello! I tracked a clip that was unobscured counter on a machine. The frame size and frame rate are the same. I track and adjust the track in Mocha, then export the tracking data to a comp that will be lying above it to cover something up. The data exports as a way longer duration than the original clip. Could I have any insights about what's happening? Tracks 73 and 74 on the screenshot. I'm not the most experienced with Mocha so I hope I'm just doing something wrong and this is not a wonky weird thing that's happening only to me. Thank you so much!

I am about to rig a character that will benefit from using curved bone tools, along with the standard rigid, straight bones that you can use in AE natively.  Think something that bends in a curve, like a hose, or shoelace. Is there something in AE that can grant that? Is there a filter that can have a somewhat similar effects? Or would I need to use a plugin? If so, what plugin would you suggest for this? I work on Windows 11 with a version of AE that is one version behind the latest one.

The latest AE  OCIO color management it is not embedding the color profile on render. So every precomp that is reimported is not being interpreted correctly and when I give comps to the client, it looks wrong in their native package ( Nuke ).  I see the option to  "embed profile" but it is grayed out. 

I have a project that uses my plugin and I want to debug it when it is loaded/ran by AE Render Queue or Adobe Media Encoder. I have some breakpoint positioned in Xcode, when I use the plugin in After Effects, the breakpoint are trigerred.  If I "Composition | Add to Render Queue" in After Effects and click Render, rendering happens but my breakpoints are not triggered. Same behavior when using Adobe Media Encoder (AME). So I suspect, that AE and AME are using some kind of subprocess to do the rendering ? Thanks in advance

Hey! I have a character I rigged for animation I made in Photoshop, he has several layers to him. I go to import him into After Effects, via composition and it's coming up only as a flat composition! I have checked and it is RGB not CYMK and have been googling for hours and can't figure it out, please help, attached below are some photos to show what I'm talking about the characters photoshop layerswhat I see when I import into After Effects

I have a project that I will be exporting to a MOGRT and will be adding a CSV to the EG panel so users can switch it out. I need to set it up intitally with the maximum number of rows and columns from the CSV file, but am experiencing some issues. I can successfully add any CSV file to the project and to the comp. However, when I add certain CSVs to the EG panel (from the comp > Data properties) After Effects crashes. For example, CSVs with 10 rows and 15 columns work, although it takes a little while for AE to parse all the data. A CSV with 24 rows and 25 columns crashes. AE freezes while it appears to be parsing but then the Windows waiting spinning blue circle appears. I've left it for a good ten minutes but it never recovers. So, is there a limit to the amount of rows and columns AE can parse in a CSV when you add it to the EG panel?

Hello, Got a challenge if anyone can help. I don't know anything about After Effects, I mean zero, but have recently been learning through tuts. I want to create a looping animation for four arrows for the logo design I created. It is for a HVAC company and the concept is circulating air in a rectangle shape with rounded corners. (Design attached). I have found a couple tuts that kinda do what I want but not really, all involving trim paths. I just don't think trim paths is the way to go. It involves a shape on a path. Hallo, folgendes Problem:Ich habe in Adobe Illustrator Vektoren gezeichnet/erstellt, diese dann in After Effects hochgeladen und animiert und dann das Video mit der Vorgehensweise gespeichert: Komposition-> Zu Adobe Media Encorder.. hinzufügen -> als H264 (Mp4) herunterladen. Meine Komposition hatte die Einstellung 1920x1080p mit 30 fps gehabt , nachdem ersten Download war ich mit der Qualität unzufrieden und ich habe es sogar mit 4K und 30/60 fps getestet, aber leider ist die Mp4 Datei/das Video nach dem Speichern trotzdem nicht scharf genug, obwohl die Qualität des Video sin meiner Komposition schon echt scharf und gut ist. Wie soll ich mein Video sonst speichern?

Wenn ich mit dem Roto-Pinsel-Werkzeug in einem Frame etwas bearbeite, rendert es dies auf alle nachfolgenden Frames auch drauf. So macht es aber auch fortschritte wieder kaputt, die ich zuvor gemacht habe. Kann ich diese Funktion ausschalten, sodass das Werkzeug bei Benutzung nurnoch diesen einen Frame verändert und nicht alles darauf folgende?

I get this error when launching AE: After Effects error: Crash in progress. The application crashes before I even have an option to "Reset Preferences" or "Start in Safe Mode." I have uninstalled and re-installed, restarted computer, and updated GPU drivers, but to no avail. Hi, I'm trying to use text with ligatures in After Effects, but it doesn't work. I have checked the box that says "Ligatures" in the Character Panel. I'm using the font FFF Acid Grotesk, that shows ligatures when used in Photoshop and other software. Copying + pasting the glyph from Photoshop into AE does not work. Any ideas? AE version 23.0 (Build 59)macOS Ventura 13.2.1
