Hello Adobe After Effects Team,I would like to suggest adding a small “Swap Dimensions” button next to the Width and Height fields in the Composition Settings.For example, if the composition is:Width: 1920 px Height: 1080 pxClicking the button would instantly swap them to:Width: 1080 px Height: 1920 pxThis would be especially useful when quickly converting a composition between landscape and portrait orientations, without having to manually type both values.A simple button with a ↔ or ⇄ icon next to the Width/Height fields would make this workflow much faster and more convenient.Thank you for considering this feature

I work in digital creative production and regularly need to loop short pre-comps (e.g. a 16-frame frame-by-frame sequence) across a longer main comp. This is one of the most common tasks in animation, yet After Effects still has no simple way to do it.The current workarounds are Time Remapping with loopOut(), custom expressions, or duplicating the layer and using Sequence Layers. All of them are fiddly and easy to get wrong. The default Time Remap setup even puts the end keyframe one frame past the last frame of the pre-comp, which produces a blank frame on every loop unless you know to fix it.What made this far worse: I spent a long time troubleshooting a blank frame in my main comp that turned out to be the cache. The loop was working correctly, but After Effects kept displaying a stale blank frame through multiple edits and setting changes. Freeze first layers on timeline (like you can do on excel/sheets) so you can reach them quickly even at the bottom of a 150 layer composition)

Sometimes freezing a rotoscope demands minutes, and you use that waiting time for something else. It would be very useful hearing a notification when rotoscoping it’s over so you can continue working

If I have folder that has nested folders, images, footages, audio files.it would be nice that I can select the folder and after effects handles what’s inside it.it can skip unsupported files.the result will be a folder inside the project panel with nested folder and footages with the same names.of curse, it can be done using scripting, but having it as a native import option I think it is more professional.I hope to see this small feature in the next update.These small details what will make after effects better, Thank you!

Imagine how awesome it would be to be able to “Apply transforms” to Null object (like in, dare I say: BLENDER 3D), to retain the shape but reset the Scale property. 

Really simple one - Illustrator has recently added a ‘Copy’ button next to the Hex code in the colour palette. I’d love to see the same thing in AE!Most brand colour work I do uses Hex values, so something like this to speed up copying values would be great for quality of life - the saved clicks would add up.Adding it next to the colour pickers in the Effects and Properties panel would be very welcome as well - bringing it as close to the surface as possible. As well as any other places I’ve not thought of 😂 

Most DLCs and other compositing software support OCIO 2.5+ configs now and it would be nice for After Effects to support them as well in the Custom OCIO Configuration. A popular example: Using Blender 5+ OCIO configs in After Effects.

When After Effects enacts an auto-save, the auto-save window should not appear if the user is currently using another program. For example, I was in the middle of a complex selection in Photoshop when the After Effects Auto save window popped up over the work I was in the middle of. I was unable to see my cursor until the auto-save window disappeared so I had to stop was I was doing and wait. I don’t think it’s necessary for an After Effects alert to encroach on the screen of another program being used.

Здравствуйте, хотелось бы видеть на сайте адекватные переводы с английского на русский и украинский языки, особенно это касается справки  "After Effects Help" то есть обучающие и помогающие материалы. Особенно на украинском языке где перевод справки отсутствует как таковой,  а при переключении на русский постоянно появляется уведомление о смене региона что к проблеме не относится. Ну вот я захожу в справку, она на английском, хотя язык выбран украинский, самое простое это переключить язык на русский НО такой функции нет, есть только смена региона на россию, а зачем мне менять регион если я в Украине. Я хочу иметь возможность получить нужную информацию о приложении за которое я заплатила на укр. языке (потому что он то заявлен, он прописан, но сам перевод отсутсвует) не заморачиваясь с переключением на регион который пришел в мою страну с войной. Я даже могла бы предложить вам помощь с переводом на добровольных началах.

Motion Tracker has an issue tracking a time-manipulated layer. Make a Right-click → Render in Place before it’s too late. Pre-compose - Render - Import - Replace is 90s level solution.

Many years ago it was possible to import AAFs directly into After Effects with Automatic Duck. Now the workaround is to import the AAF into Premiere and then open the premiere project in After Effects. I would love the ability to start my compositing without the circuitous import process. 

Request:  Would love to be able to parametrically adjust the corner radius of individual corners of rounded rectangles in AE. Similar to illustrator / figma.   I know this can be done through scripting / expressions, but would love to see native controls to create shapes like this. Would simplify things greatly.  Example from figma:    

With Photoshop or Lightroom, removing unwanted objects in your frame is a breeze nowadays. I’m suggesting a similar feature for After Effects. Thank you, Rebecca, for taking notes for this idea at IBC26.I imagine it working like this:The first step is to create a mask, either manually or with the same engine as the new object mask tool in Premiere. Then, within a new floating window (as in Photoshop), you can either click to remove the object or describe a prompt for what to add. Also, there should be an option for a reference image (with an eyedropper to quickly grab a frame from the project). Maybe you can also reference a composition. There also should be an option to choose the right video model. Maybe also a button to expand/shrink the mask when the selection is very tight. Hi,I often automate Render Queue setup and ran into a limitation: scripts and C++ plug-ins cannot set the Output Color Space found under Output Module Settings > Color.This would be especially useful when the same composition has multiple Output Modules. Each module may need a different output color space, while After Effects can use the same rendered frames for all of them. Right now the only practical options are editing every module manually or maintaining separate Output Module templates, which becomes difficult to manage and can also affect unrelated format and codec settings.Could you please expose read and write access to these color settings for each Output Module through ExtendScript and the C++ SDK? It would be useful to control Output Color Space, Preserve RGB, Embed Color Profile, and the OCIO display/view when applicable.This would make color-managed render automation much simpler and help prevent exports in the wrong color space.Thanks!

As a heavy After Effects user for almost 20 years, I often find the Project panel very limited. We usually juggle many kinds of assets, mainly JPGs and PNGs, often in the hundreds. I still need to switch to Finder to see larger icon previews because the AE thumbnails feel too small, and there is no way to make them bigger. Simulation effects: Who does not love them?Particle Playground being a native plugin of AE (non Cycore) is very powerful, full of potencial and i love to experiment with it. The issue is that is slow.. incredible slow. And althought there are much better but payed 3rd party plugins it would be nice for AE to have its own 2025-26 GPU accelerated 2d/3d updated particle system internally to properly balance its market competition on this.Does this idea connect with anyone else? 

I think it would be useful to borrow the Lock Workspace feature from Photoshop for After Effects, esp with the wide use of so many scripts and CEP panels in many workflows. I accidentally pull off tabs or slide them around in my day-to-day use of AE, esp since I’m using a Wacom pen most of the time.I’m sure there’s some wrinkles to consider, esp when switching Workspaces while locked - do you prompt with a pop-up or automatically switch it?

Hello!I would like to work with OpenType in After Effects.I have to import the character I want from Illustrator (and then create a shape for that character), and I don´t want that. I want to be able to work natively in AE. Could you make that?Thanks

In C4D you can 'mute' keyframes - essentially this acts like deleting the keyframe except that a dummy 'reference' key is left there, perhaps greyed out, that stores the value(s) and interpolations it had before it was muted. Keyframes to either side behave exactly as if it was not there, until it is un-muted.

Please do NOT remove “COLOR KEY” as an option for After Effects… I use that feature “MORE” than any other keying feature for BROAD key removal projects… thank you!

Premiere Pro remembers the export location for each individual project. So when working on multiple projects concurrently I don’t have to reset where I am exporting to. After Effects should do the same.

I frequently use Collect Files in After Effects, and Watch Folder is located very close to it in the File menu. I have accidentally clicked Watch Folder several times.Watch Folder immediately closes the currently open project and enters Watch Folder mode without a confirmation. My larger projects can take around 5 minutes to reopen, so an accidental click causes a significant interruption.Please add a confirmation dialog before Watch Folder closes the current project, for example: "Entering Watch Folder mode will close your current project. Do you want to continue?"An option to disable or hide Watch Folder would also be helpful.
