Hello, I have problem with After Effects toolbar. I have English version , but toolbar panel is on Russian language and it doesn't work.  I wanna to change language and make it works! Thank you!

Hi,I created a path based on the positions of two other layers using the fromComp expression (code below). It worked fine until I parented those source layers to null. A no-particles flame effect you can pull off with no plugins.   There's some really cool VFX in the Captain Marvel movies, but my favourite is the firey aura that appears when Carol Danvers starts to use her powers. The process involved was shared in behind-the-scenes videos when Captain Marvel (2019) came out. In a nutshell, the VFX team recreate Brie Larson in 3D, and used the 3D model to drive complex particle simulations. Which apparently took months to refine. It's a bit of a shame they didn't consider using just After Effects to get a similar result! A similar effect can be seen in Netflix Sandman series (Rose in the garden).   Obviously what they did was way more complex and stunning, but in this tutorial, I show how to use a few, simple included effects to create the look of energy emitting in waves from a figure. I start using the rotobrush tool to quickly isolate the hero from their background. Then using the Find Edges effect, I get outlines for all their detail. C

Je suis sur un Macbook Apple M3ProSonoma 14.3 (23D56)36 Go de RAM Au lancement du logiciel, tout se charge et s'affiche correctement SAUF mon onglet/panneau bibliothèque qui lui "glitche" systèmatiquement ou presque (cf l'image capturée en PJ).-> J'ai tenté de relancer en mode sans échec, ça réinitialise mes préférences au passage et des fois ça s'affiche correctement mais ça finit par re-glitcher au démarrage suivant ...-> j'ai désinstallé-réinstallé After Effect, ça peut solutionner temporairement le problème mais ça finit toujours par revenir... Ca arrive aussi avec la bibliothèque Illustrator, mais jusqu'à maintenant jamais dans Photoshop qui tourne parfaitement 🙂 . Et sinon tous mes logiciels Adobe sont bien mis à jour régulièrement. Voilà je n'arrive pas à cerner d'où peut venir ce satané bug !

Hi, So I am playing with expressions. To make my life more difficult I imagine Why dnt I stop the position animation at a certian point. After googling sometimes I learned that I can use 'Checkbox Expression' to control/manipulate/on-off expression. So,  I did that, but dnt like the result. I want the orange circle to stop in a smooth manner not like the one I got using chekbox control. How can I apply  easy ease on checkbox keyframes. If thats not possile what can I do to make the stopping velocity smooth and also I want the circle  animation stops as well.  I mean the orange circle will start its animation with ''Math.sin'', it will reach a certain point and in a smooth manner and then stops. Please guide me. 😥  

I will admit I am an AE noob, but I have done my due diligence of watching every video and reading every post on the subject and I can't for the life of me figure out why I can't loop a very simple progression of text that I have pre-comped, applied time remapping, and wrote the loopout expression to.  I noticed that when I enable time remapping, only one keyframe is created at the beginning of the precomp. So i add the second keyframe at the end of the precomp. Despite this, the precomp is not looping.I have included a screen recording of what's going on, and would appreciate any advice.

I have a green BG in PSD and AE. Same hex code. I output a jpg to bring into AE and see this... The top green is from PSD and the bottom green in AE. Both have the same colour hex code applied. How do I make sure they match?

Ive loI've looked at the other posts about this and I've tried everything re-installing reseting everything and this video seems to have enough contrast. Idk if im doing something wrong cause im new to after effects or if its just something on my end.

Hi, I dnt understand the difference between expression pick whip vs property pick whip.  both write  the same  expression if  i whip preoprties of  one layer to another. example, two shape layers,  red square and  green square. if I whip scale of green to red square,  using 'property pick whip' it writes-   thisComp.layer("Shape Layer 1").transform.scale and if I pick whip sacle using expression pick whip it also writes-  thisComp.layer("Shape Layer 1").transform.scale😮   why I need these two? they are doing the same thing  whats the real difference between theses two? Google fails me. only I get articles abt  parent pick whip. There must be some main differences. what is that. please help me. 

Hi, I am using after effects to preview my exr sequence rendered out from Houdini. Normally, even though it is quite slow, I am able to preview my exr sequence in full quality after waiting a bit. However, without fast previews turned on, my sequence play back is super fast, but it is on very low quality, feels like it is on quarter resolution even i have set it to full. When it is paused, the frame is full quality though.  Does anyone know if there is a setting I should change?This is my preview windows settings:I have tried playing around with adaptive resolution limit but nothing really changed. This is when preview is paused, which is correct on full qualityThis is during preview playback, feels like quarter resolution even i've set it to full:

 I tried everything from reinstalling to updating to downgrading version and restarting my computer this is getting really annoying.. I even uninstalled adobe creative cloud. Ive updated my nvidia studio driver and windows (using windows 10)  I have a client job to do and need to get to work asap I deleted the cache folder in a sepreate drive and now after effects craps out. ryzen 5900xnvidia 3070 3x ventus 64gb ram  

Hello, I'm trying to some rotoscoping however regardless of I do with the brushes, it doesn't cut out the shape I have selected. I've played around with reducing, increasing and turning off motion blur to no avail. Please help.

Latest version of After Effects won’t read DNX HD Quicktimes? Not sure if I’m affected by the QuickTime Drop in the latest version. The QT file is good since I can open it in QT player. After Effects shows a gray frame and the audio, no error messages

Hi people,I'm working on a little sometihng that requires a sky replacement.  I've done 2 sky replacements in the past successfully, but I'm facing some issues with this shot, so maybe the methods I try aren't the most appropriate, I don't know. I'm uploading a screen recording video that will show all the details and issues, which are:1 - I made a copy of the main clip black and white and tried to bring as much contrast between the 2 as I can, but some of the original blue sky remains. I can't force the Levels/Curves effect anymore, because when I luma invert matte it to the original clip, it starts screwing up with the foreground pixels, including the walking people and the ground. As a result, the thunder sky footage that I want to use as background has some transparency, which is one of the problems. 2 - You can see from the video I made that the people in the video have a white contour around them from the track matte applied. Is there code that could search through all the keyframes of a layer and push whatever secondary keyframes it finds to the second to last frame of the duration of the clip?

helo,i got an iMac with High Sierra, and its not possible to update it anylonger apparentely.so I also cannot install after effects 2023 as it would require a higher version of macOS.BUT can I install after effects 2021 somehow? it is not in the list of older versions in my creative cloud window. Is there another way to find it?right now i got ae 2020 and that is a problem for me, as I would need motion4 for work and motion4 needs ae2021 or higher.very thankful for any help.

I updated my Mac, and AfterEffects has been a little wonky since. I just finished a project. It included some 3d layers--nothing I haven't used before, though. After it exports quicktime says, "this file contains some media which isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player." It asks if I wish to continue, and when I click yes it makes the video into an audio only. It's super annoying. I thought it might be because of some effect I used, so I screenrecorded the preview then exported the audio and put it over it. Still does not play. Somehow even the screenrecording .mov has "some media which isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player" which simply makes no sense.  I hate this.  Please help.

I have a psd file consisting of 6 layers.Normally I can melt the layers together by clicking ctrl-e, but now nothing happens.Whats is wrong?

Hello,I'm new to After Effects and I'm struggling with handling colors. In Illustrator, I usually work with swatches and the color window, but in After Effects, I only see the color window with a picker. I have my color palette saved in the library, but I'm not sure how to apply these colors to shapes.Here's what I'm experiencing:1. I select the shape in After Effects.2. I try to apply a color from my palette in the library.3. The shape does not take the color from the palette.Can someone guide me on how to properly use the color palette from the library to color shapes in After Effects? Any step-by-step instructions or tips would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!
