Hallo zusammen, ich bräuchte Hilfe bei der Erstellung einer Expression. Ich habe 35 Objekte, die am Anfang zufällig verteilt sind und am Ende der Animation eine Form ergeben sollen.Da ich kein Coder bin, kam ich mit den Standard Tutorials zu Random() oder Schieberegler Position verschieben, ... nicht weit. Hat mir jemand von Euch ein paar Tipps vielleicht auch ein Tutorial?Danke!!LG

Hello, I want to create a checkerboard pattern in After Effects and project it onto a cove (cyclorama) using a projector. The cove already has a checkerboard pattern. The goal is to later animate the projection of the checkerboard pattern and create a hallucinatory effect when viewed.Creating the checkerboard pattern and animating it later is no problem. However, I’m unsure how to best align the projected pattern onto the cove so that it matches the existing pattern. How would you approach this?

After switching to the newest version of AE the program was set to Chinese. I couldnt find any similiar issues online. here's what i tried: - Changing language in the code/config. It was set to english even tho the program was in chinese.- reinstaling, dind't help-  reinstaling on different drive, also nothing.I even tried installing After effects Beta, which was also in chinese, makes me think its not only AE issue. Help please!

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie AE plugin developer, and I would like someone to shed some light on some confusing things for me. I'm developing a plugin where the user chooses a layer from the composition via UI dropdown. The layer is then checked with PF_CHECKOUT_PARAM before my custom function. I use new_world to reduce the resolution/size so that when I finally use transform_world in my custom function (which is in a loop), it doesn't have to iterate over all the input pixels. (I hope I was clear enough about this and that this is the correct way to go about things.)In my custom function, I need to PF_CHECKOUT_PARAM again for every iteration (the plugin basically repeats the input, something like motion blur) and access in_data->current_time and similar data. The issue is, I need transform_world to use PF_LayerDef since I'm working with the scaled-down layer from new_world, but I also need to use PF_ParamDef from the layer to get current_time, time_step, etc. The only solution I

Hey guys, I've got this problem where AE crashes randomly during renders, never during editing or launch just renders. I've had this problem since late AE 24 and have since upgraded to AE 25 and the error persists. I've gotten 2 error codes during this attached below.Ive tried reinstalling, removing caches, rendering in media encoder (still crashes), resetting preferences, changing render outputs, deleting a majority of layers, changing graphics drivers from Nvidia game to creative and back to game. Ive got no clue on how to fix thisOnly plugin i use is Geolayers for work.I have a small solution of rendering in MOV and stopping and restarting the renders at random points but this is obviously very inefficient with long renders and stops me from actually working as i can no longer render overnight or so on (it can also still crash during this and many render restarts are required). Sometimes while doing this it seems as if it gets on a roll and can render for a while but this is sporadi

I am using the latest version of After Effects (25.1) on a computer with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7975WX 32-Core processor, 256 GB RAM, and an RTX 4090. Despite having the 'Enable Multi-frame Rendering' option enabled, it is using only 1 core to render PNG image sequences. Is this normal? Are there any other settings that would allow me to better utilize all of these cores?

In Scripting, Displacement Map Layer is the first property of Displacement Map effect, but it has two option that can be edit. How can I set value of these two options while they both need to be set value? Thanks in advanced if you could answer this, this problem has confusing me for a long time.

I've been having a problem where the function that unpauses the video with the space bar stops working randomlyI saw that a lot of people have the same problem and that they fixed it by changing audio preferences, however, when I try to edit any preferences it crashes the program and the preference changes never saveClosing and restarting the program every 10 minutes or so to get the space bar to work just isn't gonna work if I want to get the job done. How can I fix this?

Hi,I just recently upgraded my After Effects to 2024. I have 3rd party plugins integrated in my After Effects, but now when I open it it tells me to open with Rosetta or the plugins won't work. The open with Rosetta option isn't there, so how do I get my plugins to work?I'm on a MacBook Air M2 2022 with 16GB RAM.

When I change an AE file that I've got embedded in Premiere in AE, it no longer updates and I have to reload it into Premiere. What gives?

I am using the attached YouTube link to try and create a 3D slideshow animation in After Effects. At about the 10:18 mark it begins animation with a simple zoom in using a Null Object (called "position" in the tutorial) parented to the Camera. In the video, the parented Null Object easily moves via the position tab, but when I try this same seemingly easy step, the camera moves but my video shows absolutely no. movement. The video was made four years ago when the Camera feature did not automatically go 3D on the timeline. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but it's a simple step that I cannot figure out. Hopefully the attached image and some more brain power will help solve this problem.  

I have a script which pulls text from a text file and then assigns keyframes to the sourcetext of a Text layer. All the testing was done with 10 keyframes and it works a treat.the script can open and read the text file and add the keyframes in less than a second. but now I'm trying to add 100+ keys and After Effects just grinds to a halt. it takes minutes and Ae is sitting there chugging 110% of the CPU to do what seems to be a super trivial task. can anybody shine a light in what is happening and how I might speed this process up?

I constantly open files from other co-workers of the studio when they aren’t available or they open my files when I’m not available, but everyone has their own way of arranging the timeline columns, you know, where you find the Layer Name, Blending Mode, Switches, etc. We all struggle rearranging to our original arrangement in which each one is better working with, and this has to be done within each comp of the project.Is there a way to arrange the columns forever as a Workspace, and not as a per-comp, per-file setup?

Hey swarm! I have one greenscreen video file cut into seperate layers using the scene detection function - as this sequence is final cut that has been cut from 5 different camera views before I now have the file split. My goal is to name the layers corresponding to the 5 different cam views like CLOSEUP, TOTAL, WIDE, etc.after keying all those cuts are transparent and I want to add a backdrop that fits SCALE and POSITION paramerters of the camera views. now I sure could set holdkeyframes at every  over 100!!) cut, but my goal is to give the POS and SCALE parameters an expression to detect the layer name or layer color to set the parameters at the next cut. I asked chatgpt to write such a script, but this just set the parameters for the last cut before the backdrop layer over the whole timeline. setting the scene detection to create pre-comps for each cut didnt work either - find the expression followed below:// Define scale values for each camera anglevar scaleValues = {"wide

i look back into the file it gives me and for some reason there is nothing in the folder. It's an empty folder. It used to hold all my files, but i moved them. But i thought the pj file moved with it?? I'm so frustrated i cant exit out of after effects now

Dear All, I have several 360 videos that taken at the same walking route in a location/place but it's taken in different day or month. Therefore, The length of video is different each other. But, Some of them will be same timing in second or millisecond level. I need to optimize the frame position at least in a second level. Could you enhance After Effects to be possible for optimizing the length of frames or duration of footage between two footages? It's necessary to be possible for matching the position of some frames between two footages manually. If there is several markers to be possible for indexing in the specific time to do matching the frames between two footage automatically, It will help to optimize the next task using the footages or output.If there is the functionality, Please kindly tell me. When I wake my macbook pro M3 from a sleep, I notice that After Effects often has crashed. Why is this? Premiere is fine. Photoshop is fine. All my other Adobe programs are ok.

Been having lots of issues with AE's frame.io integration for months. A) Upon trying to login on first launch, it usually errors out and I need to restart AE before it will finally let me login.  B)Creating and then renaming folders almost never works on first attempt. Contantly get:"Error. Failed to rename the item. Please try again."It's so unreliable that I usually have to resort to adding files and folders through the web browser instead of through the AE interface, which is not ideal for a fast workflow.Windows 11, AE 2025, all updated to recent versions.

I created a little animation for a spaceship flying to the earth. There are 2 spot lights and 1 ambient light for these GLB models. They look fine in the viewer, but when I export as Quicktime RGB + Alpha, the lights disappear. The first photo is the render, and the bottom photo is similar to what it should look like.
