After Effects

I have been working all day on a wide tracking shot that shows a character moving from the sidewalk into a driveway to the front door from the side. I have been stabilizing it by both tracking points, manual rotation, and 2% warp stabilizer as I don't want the clip to crop too much.Each transform I did in a different composition:Comp 1: Scaled to 84%, manual rotation for the horizon line;Comp 2: Single point track on the character (x-axis only);Comp 3: Rescaling, and manual Y-axis keyframing;Comp 4: 2% smooth warp stabilization (for the small jitters)This issue here is that pre-composing the footage scales down the resolution, not just the clip size.TL;DRIs there any way to scale down footage in a pre-comp and scale the pre-comp up without loss in resolution?If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it.Thanks so much.

Is there a way to duplicate every frame to give a choppy animated look to a live action clip? It was a VFX feature in some software I used to use in the past.

Hello!I have a composition with Essential Properties where I control the Source Text from another composition. How can I script an Expression into the Source Text parameter so that it doesn't change the parameter inside? Right now, when I access the parameter through a script and enter an Expression, the value also changes in the Source Text of the original text itself. And it shows the following message.This Essential Property is controlled by an expression in the Primary Comp, click here to override.Is there a way to code a value so as to separate them?

Hi, I'm struggling with what I think could have an easy solution. I have linked my project to a spreadsheet to enter the Artist, Featuring and Title. The featuring needs to be in the thin font style while the artist needs to be in the regular font style. Hence why I need to use two seperate layers. See example below: This is the result I'm trying to make responsive.  The problem is that I want these two layers to be centered as a group. I know how to align the featuring to the artist text, but I can't seem to center the two to the comp width. When there is no featuring, the Artist name need to be centered. It needs to be responsive as the input data changes with every track. I hope somebody can help me 🙂 Kind regards,    

Well today i was editing a video and replacing some the clips with an after effects composition, multiple times throughout the day i had selected multiple layers into one composition and had no issue with editing keyframes, however when i was editing multiple layers of some text and making it into a composition after effects has now decided to make every layer into a precomp every single time i replace a clip in premiere pro for an after effects composition, i have to manually add effects to multiple layers of keyframes of which I did not have to do before, and even for single layers of text it is putting it into a precomp, Some of the compositions before this issue happened did not get automatically precomped, I have attached images of this before & after it occurred If anyone can help me resolve this issue it would be much appreciated, Been searching for multiple hours for a fix

Im new to after effects and recently tried to do some line animation where ill make the line appear and tell some info about the dress. For the Line animation i used trim paths and keyframed the "End".  I want to extend the line so it keeps being connected with the circle. I managed to do o in the top line by keyframing the "start" of the trim paths but now that the orientation is switched (right to left insted of left to right) i can no longer extend it further than i need.Hope i didnt overcomplicated the explanation, ill post a gif for reference.  

Hi there,For some reason, when I'm using C4D Lite with After Effects, my materials aren't appearing in my AE file. I've checked that live link is enabled. It also isn't showing up when I render out from AE. Any idea how to fix this problem? Screen shots below.

Since the latest update I'm having an issue with importing images to after effects. Previously I could import jpegs, tiffs, .psd whatever I needed without issue. Now I no longer get the option to import it as anything other than 'footage'.  Import as sequence is unchecked, but makes no difference. Is there something Im missing here? Or anyone have any ideas why this is happening?  CheersR

Hi!Can someone please tell me why Adobe's tutorials are no longer in order?I completed them a long time ago and now want to refer them to someone, but to my surprise, the tutorials are all over the place. I developed a program using Node.js that retrieves rendering tasks and corresponding project files. It replaces layers in the project based on different parameters and then performs the rendering. However, occasionally Aerender doesn't work as expected. On the interface, it appears to be rendering, but in the Task Manager, Aerender shows as "Not Responding." What could be causing this issue? I'm using the 2023 version in rendering mode. How should I troubleshoot this issue?

After Effects is taking WAY TOO LONG to open... I mean like 5 -10 minutes.  When it does, it works ok for a while, but soon begins to bog down, get slow, and eventually freeze. (I'm also having the same bogging down/freezing problem with illustrator!) I suspect this has something to do with recent windows/adobe updates, but internet searches don't seem to come up with and current solutions. Is anyone else having the same problem??  What's going on?  It's very hard to get any work done these days. 

Why can't offset turbulance in the noise effect have a bezier curve?  Why???  for that matter, why doesn't EVERY keyframe have the ability to have bezier curves?  It's maddening.  

I included the video.It always happens when shooting videos in iPhone while zooming.Feels like it jumps forward few frames without recording them.Is this a permanant data loss or it can be fixed?If not with After Effects, I'm open to use any other apps as well.

A combo of parenting and CC Smear on the "worm" seems to work for the beginnings of a "bird pulling worm" animation. But how to get the "worm" coming out of the hole in the ground?

I'm using loop out expretion for a fan to continously loop.But I want it to stop with ease after looping for maybe 2 seconds,start continuing backwards with ease then regain speed.

i recently downloaded after effects using my schools account and all the plugins were inside, i then had no space in my storage so i decided to delete a few files in my PC to free up space, the issue is that i think i might have deleted a few files that were related to the plugins and now when i open my project, there is a big red cross on my composition, i have no idea how to reinstall the missing deleted files as im using my school account so i am unsure how to get back the plugin

As the title says, I have been experiencing CRASHES and resets since updating to AE 2024. I think it might be because I'm using a previous project template, but I'm not using any third-party plugins. The strange thing is that the problem continued to happen when I downgraded back to the 2023 version . I have used cleanup tool from adobe to delete all Adobe application data, but it is still the same. Also, sometimes when I use ME 2024 to render AE's files (usually more than 1 minute), ME will most likely crash. So I want to use Content-Aware Fill to cover up a football in an image. It works great, mimicking the texure of the field behind the ball and making the ball completely invisible, but for some reason it leaves a thin white line where I made the selection.What exactly I am doing: Opening the image Using lasso select to make a selection around the ball and its shadow Pressing the delete key to erase what is in the selection Right clicking, and then clicking "Content-Aware Fill" Making sure I'm happy with the paramaters and the results, and clicking "Apply" And, lo and behold, for some reason, a small white line is left exactly where I made the selecttion. Keep in mind that I no longer have an active selection, and that this line is baked into the pixels themselves, and is not just a rendering glitch. It stays there when I save the image, too. Does anyone know what is going on?

Ok well it won't let me select "Bug" in the conversation type so that seems like an issue. I'm trying to work and all of a sudden I can't scroll, like using the trakpad can't scroll up/down in my project panel or timeline which is really messing with my efficiency in navigating my scenes and content. Is there a setting I've unintentionally hit or is this a bug?

I am working in AE 2024 on a Mac Pro 2019 (Processor 16 core Intel Xeon, Graphics AMD Radeon Pro Vega II 32 GB, Memory 96GB, Mac OS Sonoma 14.5).For a week or more when booting AE it takes approximately three to four minutes to load Effects & Presets. Furthermore, in the past few days when working in AE the mouse has frozen, and the computer automatically has shut down. Checking my third party plugins and scripts, they all appear to be up to date.Does anyone have any ideas?
