Since updating Windows 11, I don't know why I can't drag and drop materials, but my friend can drag and drop materials using lower versions of AE

I'm getting "Unknown Exception" errors when creating masks in After Effects. I've tried applying the masks to a simple Solid instead of the video and still get the error. Its happened in numerous projects and I cannot sort out why this is happening. And it seems to be getting worse. It started a few days ago on one composition and I was able to redo the masking on a new composition. But, now it's happening constantly and it seems for every succesful rotoscope I do I have another that gets this error.  These compositions have no effects used on the clips or the solid. When I try to export the clips I get an "Error Code 14" message.  Any ideas why this may be happening? I've cleared all cache, memory, and preferences multiple times. Restarted, shut down, etc, etc, etc. All the usual tricks aren't working. I was able to rotoscope over 200 clips on this current project with no issues (yes, this is a large and insanely tedious project) but now that I'm nearing the l

Summary: Adobe Media Encoder is a virtually useless piece of garbage software. Adobe needs to start over from scratch with AME.  I just spent two days troubleshooting and trying to export using AME, five Premiere Pro-created videos, each with similar AE comps embedded. AME failed on so many levels. After the first two videos exported, the third video just stopped exporting. But the first two videos that exported had major errors/glitches in the videos. I am mostly able to successfully export the videos directly from PP, without using AME. But I have still had some issues. I ask that Adobe stop creating some buggy software. I think a lot of us are ready to move on from Adobe. You make all of these promises, and when it comes down to the more complicated projects, you fail over and over and over and over again. Maybe it really is time to move on to Davinci Resolve or Avid. It's been years and years of this s--t and I'm really tired of it.  On another note, if anyone a

Hi there,I'm trying to increase/decrease the opacity of multiple layers using the shortcuts Shift+Alt+Ctrl++ and Shift+Alt+Ctrl+- but as you can see, sometimes it only targets some of the selected layers. Roto brush cuts corners very much. It's not really possible to highlight fingers at all, even in version 3.0. Feather costs only 6. Do something about it, please.

I tried to import any video and reported "After Effects error: File "name.mp4" cannot be opened, it may be in an unsuppoted format. (86 :: 1) 1) I tried to downgrade to AE2003, not work2) tried to import  H.264-MPEG4,   MPEG4 , not work (They can play in VLC player) What can I do now? Attached the log,  I hope someone can help me. (My notebook is 11th i5-1135G7 with 16RAM in Windows 10)

As description states, working on a Windows computer. I'll connect my Apple Airpods to my machine, AE will work for maybe a few minutes before playback becomes disabled, closing and restart will fix it temporarily but problem will pesist again after the same timeframe.This was also an issue on I believe AE 2023, I googled the Adobe forums and a solution was to open preferences, change output audio to speaker then back again to desired headset and that would fix the issue. Instead when I try that AE freezes and crashes completely.  Has anyone had this issue or am I going crazy?

I'm working in AE Team Projects and I noticed few times already that after reopening a team project I worked on (with no problem whatsoever) I get an error like this:(it says "After Effects error: Render Graph stack overflow -- composition too complex. ( 78 :: 6)"). I can't preview my timeline and restarting etc doesn't help. When I convert the whole Team Project to regular project, then I finally know what is the cause of the problem because the error message changes to this:("After Effects error: Composition 'sh010 v01' is nested in itself and cannot be rendered.")It turns out that in fact a composition named 'sh010 v01' is nested in itself, however I never even tried to do something like that (not to mention that AE doesn't allow to do this). I think that at some point Team Project makes some mistake when loading or saving the project and puts random composition in itself but its just my guess.When I delete a layer with the sh010 v01 comp from that comp, the preview starts work

Sometimes while using AE I will "run out of memory" and a dialogue box pops up warning me of such. However, if I try to close the dialogue box to diagnose the issue, another box will simply appear reaffirming the warning. This will continue until AE crashes, as it is impossible to adjust your project in any way when these dialogue boxes are popping up. This of course leads to the only option being to open task manager and force close AE. If there is a way to disable these dialogue boxes, I would eagerly do so, but I am new to AE and have not see such an option.

When I send a frame to the Render Queue (S+Ctrl+Alt default key shortcut), the frame is rendering at 20x11 pixels. The comp is set to 1920x1080 px. If I select Resize in the Output Module Settings, it does scale up - but from 20x11. So a large blurry result is the best I can do.I've updated After Effects. This was happening in version 23.6.2, so I updated to version 24.1 and that setting is still there for rendering a single frame.I can send the full timeline to be rendered, then set the comp to only 1 frame long, but that's tedious if I want to pull out multiple frames from the comp.Probably unrelated, but After Effects for the past couple of versions, at least since 2022 has been crashing frequently. I deal with a crash about every 40 minutes. Ae often cannot save to the file, so I will hit S+Ctrl multiple times before it doesnt send an error. Does not seem to change if I update Ae. normally when I would go into the graph editor, my selected parameter would fit in the editor automatically. I accidentaly clicked on the "fit all graphs to view" button on the bottom and it turned from blue to white.  now everytime I open the graph editor, my curves are not there and I must click the button but it will no longer go to blue.  it's really frustrating. 

Yesterday i was using Ae when this happend to me. i look all videos and reply solutions. cant find onealready do this:1 . restart cache memory and disk. empty all 2. restart audio hardware and change to ASIO and try and change to MME and try3 . change my system preferences (performance)4. my drivers are okmy pc: 16gb RAM - ryzen 5 3.60 hz - w11 also when i open something like effects and doubleclick  its like the preview is crashed i dont know.here some screens

hi in after effects when i type "İZMİR" as a turkish karakter there is no problem but when i copy "İZMİR" from anywhere then paste after effects change this to "IZMIR" how can i fix this ?copy "UŞAK" to after text is : "UŞAK" there is no problembut copy "İSTANBUL" to after text is : "ISTANBUL"There is only problem with "i" letter upperchases

 A few weeks ago, I started a new project, but at some point I tried to open it and the loading bar was at 98% or 99% and it wouldn't open. I have the most up-to-date version of AE (24.1).The only solution I found was to open it through AE Beta. This way I can continue editing the project. Does anyone know how to avoid this?

I am working with an .GLB 3D model in After Effect and it keeps giving me this overlay at different points and at different times, it's even there when you render it. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks! Title edited by Mod.

There's something seriously wrong with this build.I've decided to use the time it takes to START rendering a queue of multiple comps with a solid bg, prerendered anim comps and some vector logos inside, to express how disappointed I am in the way this product is being handled.I'm using AE 24.1Windows 11 ProAMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16-Core, 32 threads, 4200Mhz64 Gb RAM4090 RTXDrivers are up to date. Even stopped using a double monitor setup (becuase i read somewhere that might help. As hilarious as that sounds) to see if that would help cause client is breathing down my neck.There is absolutely no reason the UI is as laggy as it is and there's absolutely no reason for the incosistency in performance. Sometimes render queues take ages to start (see right now), other times items that would normally render in less than a minute (sometimes they do) take over 15. When a composition has an apostrophe (such as: John's Composition) in the name, the VR Comp Editor.jsx throws many expression errors.  I'm using AE 2024 on Windows 11.

hello, i have mac somona 14.3 and th newst after effects beta. i have a project with a few roto brush uses. each roto layer is in it's own composition, where the frame rate matches the original video. it was working fine until it crashed and now i can't even open the project. i keep getting an error massege about roto brush & refine edge generating an unexcepted execption. sometime it offers me to disable the roto brush effect, but when i do, i can't open the project because it says the roto brush effect can't be fount and i need to reinstall. Last log message was: <1362793> <Scripting> <5> Executing startup/shutdown script at: /Applications/Adobe After Effects (Beta)/Scripts/Shutdown/About the Shutdown folder.txt thank you for you help

After utilizing a project file, I'm experiencing significant lagging in After Effects. The software seems to be struggling to keep up, causing delays in response time and hindering my workflow. It's becoming quite frustrating as it interrupts the creative process and slows down productivity.

Hi, crippling usability bug here. When I playback/preview something in After Effects there's a big lag between the space bar being pressed and playback beginning, even with a fully cached scene/comp. This is a very recent development. couple of days at most. Any help greatly appreciated (I'm using a pretty powerful workstation specced and built for AE about 19 months ago. Hello together I have a problem with the color. I imported 3 rec709 gamma 2.4 videos and made for each a composition. On the screenshots you can see, that in the composition the video is clear like "normal" colors. But when i am outside the composition, in the main composition, the video is darker. It also renders darker and I can not work with that.The color workspace from affter effects is already "NONE". I tried also REC709 Gamma2.4 and other workspaces but didn't change anything.Does anyone has a solution for this?I already asked on reddit but nobody could help:/ best regards

I have a few json lottie animation files I got with a website theme I purchased. When I previewed the file on LottieFiles there were no problems and the animation looked fine but when I used BodyMovin to upload it to AE it was messed up. I tried switching computers, uploading the file to LottieFiles and uploading through url with no success. I have this problem with many animations (not just the ones I got included in the theme). If anyone could help I would really appretiate it.

My top layer is showing above my bottom layer and I can't seem to get it below it. I don't know what to do. All my layers are in 3D so I hope that information helps.
