After Effects

Hi there,I wanted to use Shift Channel on a project, but after going to effects and channels, I only have this option available. How can I get all the other channel effects to show? 

I have a little problem here. I am currently working on a project that requires the background to be cyclic. I have a composition that has a pre-composition that needs to be modified so that there are opening and ending segments, as well as an animated background.The task is to make a graphic element with a duration of 289 frames. 14 frames for the opener and 25 for the ending. the video itself lasts 10 seconds.The video is in the preliminary composition which is located in the main composition. Changing the duration of the pre-composition takes place in the main composition. I was thinking about how to solve this problem and came up with the following option:I use an expression to calculate the acceleration coefficient, then use Time Remaping to speed up the clip. The problem is that to speed up the clip has succeeded, but to loop it in any way does not work. Hello,  I'm new here, but from what I understand by holding shift, clicking and dragging, I should be able to resize images proportionally. This has not been the case for me, and it is obviously problematic. Does anyone know why this would be the case or what I can do about it? Thank you. -- BB

Has anyone managed to tie a "loopOut" expression to a menu selector?I was wondering if I could use time remap to loop between a set of keyframes tied to an expression control selector, but I haven't found a way of using the "loopOut" expression tied to an "if". Basically what I want is to select value "1" on the menu so that it loops between "key(1)" and "key(2)". If I select value "2" on the selector I want it to loop between "key(3)" and "key(4)" and so on. Do you reckon it's possible?

Hi i recently got After Effects and Red Giant's Trapcode Suite (both are the latest versions). When I apply particular to a solid and i try to open the designer, i get this error message.I tried reinstalling ae and the plugin, using older versions of particular and searching for corrupt files/bad registry keys.Someone said it has to do with the file at C:\ProgramData\Red Giant\Trapcode\DesignerCore\17_0 but idk what to do really.  

It'll be either instantly, or after about 10-30 min of work. I managed to get a couple log files but I'm having difficulties undersatnding it. I'm kinda wondering if it's some bad expressions or something, but I can't really tell. I did notice that it started crashing after using Duik bounce expression, but I removed it after thinking it may be the issue, but it continues. I even tried in safemod. My computer:2 month old M2 Max 96GB RAM and 2TB SSDAE: 24.04. It was on the latest, but I downgraded to see if I get the same issue. And I do. I don't have many scripts and plugs. Just a couple tools like Duik, ToothPaste, etc. Could someone help me take a look at these log files please?

So I have this issue with camera tracker (see image) basically any clip I try to track it outputs same track points in those 2 areas - top left and lower middle of the shot. I tried different codecs, containers, resolutions, clearing all caches, reintalling, installing older versions, launchin INTEL version (I have Macbook M1 Pro 16GB ram, Sonoma 14.3.1), nothing works. Tried even uninstalling Adobe CC, all its folders in Library and other system folders, same issue. Furthermore, I cant find ayone else having same issue. Same footage tracks perfectly on Win machines, in Davinci Resolve or any other tracking software.

How does everyone switch from editing text to selecting the next piece of text or object?If I try to use the V hotkey to select the move tool, it replaces all my text with 'V'. Cntl-V and Alt-V do not work, and Shift-V of course types a capitol V.Another software I use allows the use of Cntl-Space to stop editing text and switch to the move tool. I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious!Thanks so much.AC

macbook  pro 2019 latest update 

I have a composition that is basically a typewriter animation that spans 2secs. I'm using it as a part of a bigger comp that has a voice over of the words being typed. To match the words, I have been using time stretches for the sub comps to fit over the time that those words are spoken. However, I have one composition that I can stretch  bit the words are still typed out over two seconds rather than the 4ish I need it to be. It seems to be working for others but I can't figure this one out. Any ideas of where to look? I can post a screenshot if  necessary when I get to work. TIA

I have a layer with time-design responsive intro/outro applied to it. the layer also has a distortion applied to it with the evolution being set to the time expression so its continuous. i also have a wiggle animation applied. my issue now is that if i increase/decrease the duration of such a precomp, the wiggle and effect evolution speeds increase drastically. the initial layer duration within the precomp is 16 seconds, so now if i add one "instance" of the precomp and change its duration to, lets say 4 seconds, the wiggle animation plays 4 times faster.. what do i do? i've even tried adding a third time-design protection  to the entire middle part (starting at the end of intro and ending at the start of the outro time-design protection area), but that also didn't work.. is there any way to fix that?

The 3D-model is only displayed in advanced 3D mode, but the shadows are disabled for me there. I cannot activate the shadows in the light settings in advanced 3D mode. Graphics card and computer are powerful enough. Where is the mistake?    

It never happened to me before.I'm about to finish a project and when I try to open a project file AE crashes every time.I'm on PC windows 11AE is updatedWhat I tried:- Loading the project into the project window of a new project -> crash- Loading the auto-saves and ALL of them crash the same way- Tried resetting all preferences and loading in AE safe mode- To open a completely different project - works fineHow do I fix a corrupt project? I think it started after some rotoscoping jobs, please help.

I'm having trouble exporting a .json file with Arabic text in it. In AE, it looks correct in preview but when I export it via Bodymovin, the text gets reversed. I've tried:-Reset Paragraph-Pre-comping it-a different font-an older AE version-using Point Text instead of Paragraph Textand these are pretty much everything I could think of. I'd appreciate it a lot if someone could help me solve this since this is a professional work that I have to deliver soon. Note: I can't convert it to shape layer bc it's gonna be a template so the text must stay in text format.(I'm attaching an example text- as AE preview and the html export)After Effects Version 24.0.1Bodymovin Version 5.9.0

Which is better software encoding or hardware encoding

Hi everyone,I would like to split my source text up to single words. text.sourceText.split(" ") works, but it doesnt take line breaks into account. I thought this would be the solution:text.sourceText.split(" ", "\r") I e splitting the text up either by spaces or line breaks, but it doesn't work.What am I doing wrong?Best,Mikael

I have some text in a comp that I would like to morph from uppercase to lowercase per character/word over time using a slider control. I have managed to achieve the result in part, however all of the words are changing together rather than per character/word and I was wondering if there's a way to do this. So, I purchased this Desktop PC specifically for video editing. When I use Premiere pro, it lags sometimes when I have say a big trasitioning effect but it's usually perfectly fine. Now, when I try to use After Effects, it's such a bad experience everytime. It's litterally hell to use!All I have been trying to do is use a project with Audio spectrum and I cannot edit because the playback is so slow. I changed the playback resolution, frame rate, skips, and everything I could think of for audio and video yet it still manages to be really really slow to the point of me not being able to see the video and I won't even mention how the audio is.. (Usually it's super slow and I can't even tell which song it is).  I just hope that there's a solution to this. I have created an expression with an dropdown menu: Effect -> Expression Controls -> Dropdown Menu Control. I am on a windows machine. When I open this very same projectfile on a mac the word menu in that dropdown menu change from "Menü" (I work in german) to "Men,". So this typo leads to an expression error and I can't change that word "Menü". Please see the picture attached. I think this is a problem with the german letter "ü", but still it should work properly as I am in german on both machines. Any ideas? I don't want to change the language.Best,Phil

Hey,I was wondering if it would be possible to find the corners as well as the middle points of the 6 sides of the Bounding Box of an imported 3d model and set the anchor point with Automation Blocks to those. There are already a couple of Anchor Point Adjustment scripts but I don't think one of them can work with 3d objects yet. Again this is way above my knowledge of scripting but maybe someone else can figure it out. Best

Has anyone had any luck with AEGPSetLayerTransferMode to set a layer to be a trackmatte of the layer above? It only works for me if the layer is already a trackmatte but it won't ever set it otherwise. For example if my layer is a trackmatte of the layer above, I can use the function to change the trackmatte type to for example luma inverted. But if my layer is not a trackmatte, the code appears to do nothing. I can also use the functions flags to set a layer to be set to preserve transparency.  I understand there's a new method in ae 23 and newer which works well, but I'm trying to get backwards compatibility.
