After Effects

Hi everyone,In Premiere Pro, when I use "Replace With After Effects Composition" and render my video in After Effects, you can see the resolution in the screenshot (left Pr/ right Ae).I'm using Rec.709 in both programs (Pr and Ae), but in Ae, it ends up as PQ. Could this be the issue? I don't have a Rec.709 version without an ending (see other screenshot).Any ideas? Sven

I have looked up the previous conversations about RAIDs and performance in After Effects, but most people are still talking about SATA SSDs or even HDs RAIDs, what seems to be a little bit out dated. Newer mainboards like the AsrockTRX40 Creator support RAID 0, 1 & 10 configurations for the M.2 slots. Most recommendations tend to say, having the OS, the footage and the cache on seperate drives would give you the best performance. Right now, I am running two Crucial MP600 M.2 SSDs (1TB) as they are. One for the OS, project files and one for the disk cache. I have one more M.2 slot, where I will put another MP600 (1TB) in and I am thinking of putting them together in a RAID 0 configuration (what the Mainboard and BIOs supports). I know it is risky, because of drive failure and data loss, but I just care about the maximum performance. The whole system will be backuped through Cloud backup on active project and backup on NAS. I rendered a video to export it but all the text disappeared when I watched the exported video. How do I fix this?

Hi,Since After Effects 2020 on Mac iOS doesn't support Importing AAf File we cant really use efficiently the After Effects any longer.unfortunately all the editors on our broadcast company doesn't use Adobe Premiere, they all use Avid.Is there any other solution  to import AAF to After Effects? any script or plugins like what we had with Automatic Duck a few years ago?Is Adobe is intend to integrate anytime the AAF import ability to Mac iOS? Please advise..Thanks

So, I am new to after effects but trying to learn. the difficulty I am currently having is when using the "auto trace" feature in Ae it's not picking up the whole image ( or it's only picking up certain parts )  some images it works fine with. I may have to mess around with "Alpha, luminosity" and adjust threshold etc.  but with some images it's just not tracing as I would like.  I will attach some photos  The image I am really trying to work with is what I would consider "Complex" maybe there's too much going on. I have tried vectoring using illustrator. And also tried many other methods but I'm just not getting anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated  

Adobe fam, I am working on a Halloween project for someone and I am trying to make a visualizer/react overlay and I have made MILLIONS of visualizers and overlays for channels/streams/content over the years and I have recently come across this issue where when I want to add an expression by using the pick whip and selecting the slider on my Audio Amplitude keyframes, it used to generate an expression immediately that included [temp. temp] and now for some reason [temp, temp] is not showing up in the expression section and if I add it, I am getting expression errors. I cannot for the life of me figure out what has changed or why [temp,temp] isn't generating the same way it used to when I used the pick whip on my audio amplitude layer. I am trying to control the opacity of my jack-o-lantern face and have it react to the beat/audio in the timeline. As the title states--Are there any caveats or considerations to using std::vectors vs AEGP Collection suites?I've written a `LayerCollection` class that uses std::vectors, and for all intents and purposes, functions pretty much the same as the extendscript `LayerCollection`. (C++, of course.)This works just fine, I just happened to start thinking about scalability, and if there might be any reason to use the collectionSuites vs my current approach?I can push back, remove, pop, append, iterate over, etc.Is this just semantics at this point, or is there a definite difference? I can't seem to find anything concrete.Thanks!

I have an animation I created in ae, which consists of 100 frames. How can I export it where it gives me each of those 100 frames as their own png images? I tried looking it up but could only find resources on how to export one frame at a time. Any help is appreciated.

Hi guys, I don’t use a lot of cameras in AE so I’m thinking this is probably fairly difficult, hope I’m wrong! I’m messing about with a logo for an Iracing team, I want the camera to move a long the path of a hexagon, like it is racing around it….see attached… How on earth do I get the camera to follow the path of the Hexagon? Do I create a null path and attach the camera to that?? Many thanks for your help!

I'm trying to highlight this element (rectangular thing) going through a machine, so I made a mask of the background video blurred and green. I then want to 'subtract' elments of the machine that overlap it (like in picture on the right)... how the heck do I do that?

Hi,I'm currently working on a project for practice, where I filmed some objects on a green screen panning and tilting the camera. Now with the help of After Effects I intended to create the table where the objects are sitting on. I know that this approach is making it overall more complicated than it should be as I could just film the shot with the objects sitting on an actual table.To be precise, I have used a png file three times with a crop effect in order to create the surface of a table and two other images to create a background (floor & wall). I also transformed them, so they go beyond the actual frame, because I wanted to link them to the actual shot using a motion tracker.(Note: I have put three layers of the actual shot underneath each other to create my desired look for the cup specifically. With one layer it seemed so thin)But linking the pre-comped 'table files' to the motion of the actual shot revealed that the bits beyond the actual frame are lost when going back or

I'm trying to import a text file into AE to auto-populate a text box with the expression in the sourceText:  footage("text.txt").sourceText;  The text file is in Plain Text format. However, when I try and drag the text.txt file into my project or try to import it via File>Import>File... I get the following errors: 1) After Effects error: Could not read from source. Please check the settings and try again.2) After Effects error: file 'text.txt' cannot be imported – this '@hvb' file is damaged or unsupported. I've tried this with multiple text files in case the first file was corrupt, but I still get the errors. I was under the impression that you could import text files into AE. Is this not the case?

So i split some layers and when i play the preview it continues the video of only one layer and doesnt show the other layers i put, i dont really know how to explain it because im new to after effects but i can show a video if anyone can help me.

I can't figure out how to get the controls to make adjustments to the effects and presets.effect to sho up again. I don't even remember deleting it. Can anyone help me?

In AE 2021 and 2023 on Mac running macOS 13.6… I have a field of source text.I want to only show a single line of that text in a destination text box.I'm talking about the line of text as displayed withink the width of a box, not the line of text as delimited by line breaks. In the destination text box, I set a text animator to change the opacity of all the text apart from lines 3 to 4.Range Selector. Index, Lines. Start 3.0 End 4.0 Offset 0.0 Whatever the source text is, I expect the third line only to be visible. Whether that source has linebreaks in it or not.  Depending on the type size of the destination text box, sometimes the third line is visible, sometimes none, sometimes the fourth. How can I ensure that only the third line is visible - whatever the display font or font size and whether or not the source text has line breaks in it? Cheers!

I want to get the image with PF_PixelFloat regardless of PF_PixelFormat in PF_EffectWorld.My current plugin casts the array to type PF_PixelFloat once and then uses it, losing time.Is there any way to do this?Thank you.

Cuando intento guardar (en Save y Save as ) o importar archivos en After Effects no me permite guardar ni importar. Cuando lo inicio por primera vez sí me permite importar o guardar pero cuando pasa un tiempo esos botones dejan de funcionar. Lo mismo me ocurre con el comando Command+S. No hace ninguna acción. Tengo la última actualización de After Effects. Y también le he dado acceso total al disco y sigue sin funcionar. Cada vez que lo utilizo me pasa lo mismo. Uso Mac. ¿Alguien sabe como solucionarlo? 

I made a stroke with round cap dashes and used start property of trim paths to move the doted line and I used end property make the path short and I had to put a keyframe of end excatly in the center time of 2 keyframes of the start property and I had to use keyframe hold for some keyframes.One of the problems is that the dots don't remain 5 but keep increasing from the first dot up ahead and another problem is that the whole path with all the dots appear at the end of the keyframes. Thanks 🙂

Hey so i make edits to songs that involve me cutting clips on beat and usually i dont use headphones while doing it and im able to cut clips right on sync with the beat. Recently i moved into a dorm so i have to use headphones while editing, but i realized the sound is a bit delayed and so I'm no longer to cut on the beat perfectly like i could before. I use airpods as my headphones which may be contributing to the problem, but I was also wondering if there was a setting I could change or something that would allow me to make the audio match up better with my clips when i preview. If not I would also love to know if there's any headphones that are good at preventing the delay. Idk if i explained this in a way that makes sense but I would appreciate any help!

Hi everyone I am just wondering if there is a way to automatically parenting compositions to nulls just by the same name. exemple: Comp name: TEST01Null name: TEST01 Is there any expression for this? or is this even possible?

This was supposedly fixed for this version, but I'm still experiencing long delays when I try to change the frame rate. The more layers there are the longer the delay. AE 24.1 (Build 78)Win 11 Pro Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631
