After Effects

 Whenever I import a video (mp4) it only comes up as audio with no video at all?

Desde hace meses que tengo problemas a la hora de trabajar en AE. El consumo de RAM sube progresivamente, de la nada, incluso con el programa abierto pero en estado de reposo, sin realizar ninguna tarea.A la hora de exportar, el consumo sube abismalmente, llegando a consumir los 64 GB que tengo instalados. Si, tengo configurada la RAM alocada desde las opciones. Si, vacié los cachés. Si, otras aplicaciones están cerradas. Si, las previsualizaciones están programadas para la calidad más baja.No soy yo el problema, ni mi PC. El problema es After Effects, que tiene este inconveniente desde hace años, AÑOS, arrastrándolo a través de las versiones, y Adobe no hace absolutamente nada. Es sumamente frustrante pagar fortunas por software que, literalmente, no sirve. No se puede usar, no puede renderizar, no puede hacer nada sin crashear por sus propios errores de programación.

AFTER EFFECTS TUTORIAL - PART 1 - YouTube I import an illustrator file into after effects, and when I select the layers of the image and create shapes from vector layer, I cannot fill in the new outlines layer. I've been stuck on this problem for a while and cannot for the life of me figure out what's going wrong.

Hi! I have been facing issues with previewing when I activate Cinema 4D. The green bar in the timeline just disappears when Cinema 4d is turned on. Here are some details you might want to know:- Compute: Macbook pro with M2max chip.- After effects version: 24.1.0 Any help would be appreciated!

Greetings, I'm not much experienced so far in AfterEffects, nevertheless, I'm facing an issue, which I'm unable to solve. I'm trying to create a realistic water flow. I already created the animation and paths, but when I came across the texture, I was unsuccessful in doing it. The water is on an object, so I'm not using CC Glass effect and 2. I created specific paths with the pen tool and then animation by Taper and Trim paths.  I found out two problems:1. When I click on the TrackMatte setting on the BackGround layer. I only see "No Matte" and the two layers, while there should be Four options + No Matte (Alpha Matte / Inverted, Luma Matte / Inverted). If I choose the Water flow layer. The result looks similar to the tutorial, so I'm not sure if it is a problem.2. When I add Levels Effect on the Water flow layer. I got n

Hi,If I have a text, for example "Smooth Criminal" centered, which I repeated and animated the position on the x-axis, is it possible to stop this animation at certain intervals with an expression for a few frames and then let it continue? If I could set a slider to set this time interval, I could easily change the size of the text, which always stops in the middle for a while and then continues. So I want to do a loop without keyframes

Hi everyone,I am trying to automate my rendering process for timelapse footage. As I have a lot of them I wrote myself a script which imports all of my RAW sequences from a folder and adds them to the render que. However for every sequence the Camera RAW dialoque pops up. Is there a way to disable this?I tried app.beginSupressDialogs() but this only threw an error.Thanks a lot!Felix

There is a place on Adobe's website where you can learn the basics of After Effects. I want to record these videos and translate them into Hebrew and then send them to a group of video editors.Is it allowed?

Do you know any logic behind this naming context? I find it is very difficult to keep this function in memory because I couldn't undestand the logic behind this names. Video also uploaded.    

Hello, I have recently just finished a new project with some heavy effects and everything turns up fine in my preview. The real problem arises when I render the project and there are some random moments where the screen turns black, yet the audio continues playing. I have checked everything from guide layer switch, gaps between clips to even clearing the cache. NONE OF IT WORKS!  Please find the attached file to see what I mean by black screen cuts. 

Ok I have unique problem here.  Our church has a big stain glass window, so we adopted it into our logo. In our foyer we have TV's that display our logo. What I want to do is make a sequence(s) n after effects that allow each individual pane to flip 360* and display a secondary video image on it. This would make it so if we had video of say the childrens department playing 'behind the panes' (because the panes are just a photoshop overlay) I would like them to all flip and display footage of our sercives, or something. In a nutshell, Video 1 - Flip - Video 2. The second part of this project is the direction of the flipping sequence. Delayer plugin allows me to offset actions to items by a certain amount of frames based on the location inside the composition. So I can tell it to flip from left to right of screen, or top to bottom, and random or whatever. Hey everybody!So I have two problems with exporting my videos.When I export with the renderlist, the final video is much darker than the composition in After Effects.After that I tried to export my video with Media Encoder and stumbled upon a new problem. My 1080x1080 video was flawless but as I tried to export the 1080x1920 version, it was cropped...As you can see here: Thanks in advance!

Hi Everybody, So I've been getting in the habit of importing PSDs into my AEP file and I keep running into a situation where I have to go back to the main PSD file and update it with new layers. Those new layers don't automatically load as PSD files into the bin. So I have import a whole duplicate main PSD file as composition, go into that folder, then drag the added PSD layers into the first main PSD folder.  Is there a better way to import added layers to the main PSD file that's linking to the AEP? Having to import a duplicate PSD and move layer PSDs over to the original folder is really ineffiicient. It's a little hardto describe, I hope that makes sense. I'm trying to be able to go back to a linked PSD and easily added updated layers to the linked AEP file without having to load a whole aother main asset again. 

When I move my object off the preview panel, the bounding box and handles disappear.I have tried all view options, looked on the net for a few hours, but no luck.  When the object is on the preview panel, I can see and adjust the anchor points but only the ones that are on the preview panel.hope someone can help.thanks...

This is so ...why is after-effects so difficult?So here's my issue, I have a 3d camera tracker looking at another precomp animation(a). I then precomposed the 3d camera along the pre-comp (a) into another pre-comp (camera track 1). When I import pre-comp (camera track 1) into my main comp (fresh start), all other layers/assets that I create are still tracking the 3d camera from the first pre-comp. I’m editing a video on after effects and when I import a clip it gets slowed down but the audio is fine. Both the audio and the clip get out of sync and it it makes it impossible to edit. Is there any what I can fix this?

I am trying to make a series of rectangles scale up and down on the y-axis. Each rectangle scales based on its proximity to a null controller. This video explains the expression I'm using to drive the y-scale.When the first rectange (leader) scales up, the neighboring rectangle (follower) changes position based on leader's scale. However, when the controller approaches the follower, no scale change occurs. The controller does affect the follower's scale when at the top of the comp. My question is: why does the controller not affect the follower's scale at the appropriate position? so I have a question, when I have several videos (the videos have different lengths) in After Effect and I applied to one of the videos an effect with keyframes, is there any way that I can just copy the effect and paste it to another video and the key frames adjust automatically?

Soooo, I've built a 3d object in Adobe Dimension and exported it as a gld file. In After Effects I want to make a little animation with that object, so I've imported the gld file from before. Until here everything's fine. But the materials are missing on my object after I've put it into AE. Also when rendering the video, it's still missing.  How can I fix this, so my object looks the same in AE and has all it's materials like in Dimension?  (I've just started using Dimension yesterday so I'm still a noob ><) Thanks in advance! 

Hello! I have created a 'master page' to control the text on my other comps using an expression comp("01 MASTER").layer("1 TX INFO").text.sourceText TX info is something like: Tomorrow 9pm. is it possible to add a rule? if say 'Brand New' was added to the TX info = 'Brand New Tomorrow 9pm' i would like the Brand New to be in a differnt font style aka 'Brand New Tomorrow 9pm' Is this possible with expressions? Thanks for your time
