After Effects

Hi,I'm new to AE and am trying to install the Duik plugin.I've downloaded the installer for Mac, but when I run it, it says it can't find a valid version of AE.I click on the '...' button and navigate to the App folderAnd then get the following messageAs you can see from the screenshot, I clearly have AE installed.I am running OSX El Capitan with AE CC 2015.3 and trying to install Duik 15.08.Can anyone help please?Thanks in advance!Oli

I'm running into an issue with Duik Bassel 2. I added puppet tool pins onto my .ai layer artwork, changed engine to legacy, and when I click "add bones" After Effects freezes on the Magic Is Happening screen. I'm only trying to add bones to the 3 pins on one layer. This worked several weeks ago before AE and Duik were updated. I have already tried Duik'sfix & uninstall procedure with no luck. I am needing to extract SVG coordinates for a script that I am running in After Effects. I have created an icon in illustrator, saved it as an SVG and pulled this string from it:["M0,64.31V30.34L32.36,0l32.37,30.37v33.95H0Z"]The script I am using is requires that the SVG coordinates be in this format:["21.32 9.44 26.33 8.84 22.26 11.25 24.93 16.40 33.72 16.40 38.68 11.99 34 10.06 33.59 12.99 30 11.25 32.02 8.82 36.36 8.84 47 13 36 21 21 21 13 13 20 4 38 2 47 13 44.10 12.62 37.13 4.10 21.04 5.92 16.91 11.32"]Is there anyway to get a string of coordinates from an SVG that will follow the format above?Here is a link to the script: https://github.com/adamplouff/scriptui-battlestyle/tree/master

This is after effect beta and I can't see mercury 3d like everyone else.

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the issue below. I'm trying to move the feature center of the corner pin Track Point 4 and when I click and drag the box for Track Point 2, it shows up in the same spot and won't let me move it. I can move it via the sliders but I'd rather not do that for every single frame.

No rendering via AE or ME 2024. In ME it freezes and stops at the same time everytime. AE even doesn't start rendering. Lol. What a software.  All of themSo your only solution for freezed ME exports is doing it via AE -> MOV -> ME -> MP4. Since two years this is your solution. I described the bug in this short screenrecording here. It's weird how this bug is very specific to the preferences panel.I tried to reproduce the bug with some other panels but I couldn't.

HiI'm making a ScriptUI panel. I have a icon button which is based on an png image I load:var button = container.add("iconbutton",undefined, imagePath, {"style":"toolbutton"});The image isn't a perfect square, so it contains transparent pixels. Problem is, when I click the button it gets the focus, and all that is transparent will be AE-blue until it looses focus again.Is there a way to avoid this? I tried using the "active" property, but that didn't seem to do much.If I just could control the focus on the button...Any help is greatly appreciated,Jakob

Every time I try to import an Illustrator file as a composition, I get this: after effects error: could not convert unicode characters (23::46) This also happens sometimes when I import an Illustrator file as footage.

I continue having problems with Adobe After Effects version 24 not opening in Windows 11 Pro. I had this problem with every single version of Adobe After Effects. The Splash screen hangs on the Media Core step, and the application never opens. I've installed and removed all plug-ins via the folder and yet nothing seems to work. Is the best alternative to quit the Adobe subscription?

Hi, I want to save a string value in each effect, and this param will keep its old value when AE restart.I have tried PF_SliderDef "value_str" property, it lost old value in next app launch.It is there any way to do it? If i can save a custom model in project file will be great!Thanks for your help.

This is the first time since 2006 that I have elected to use AE, which is version 24.3. My comp has 55 layers, one being a 17 minute MP4. The rest are either shape layers or PNG layers. Issue - Yesterday, I rendered the comp with no issues. This morning I took a look at the finished MP4 again and decided to fine tune some of the rectangles I used to bring attention to what the narrator is talking about. When I opened the project and started scrubbing through the timeline, I noticed something wrong with the first instance of rectangles: they were duplicated, but shifted a few pixels to the right. Every one of the layers were duplicated on the monitor, but not in the timeline.  I did the following, which yielded no remedy: purged the cache; restarted app; restarted my laptop; opened the project on different laptop. I closed the layer eye on one layer and noticed that one shape would disappear, but the other is left there, yet there isn't a layer representing it.

De ahí no pasa aunque deje cargando durante horas, porfavor me pueden ayudar gracias.PD: Antes me venia funcionando con total normalidad

Hello, I have come across something that I either cannot generate the correct answer I'm looking for, or it doesn't exist. I am looking to simply take a sentence that starts on a few lines (two or three lines) at a certain font size, and then animate the text so it shrinks to fit on one line. My best visual example is this: (Start of animation: in larger font and dead center to attract attention)Here is the sentence that bleeds into more than one line. (End of animation: in smaller font at the top left of the screen to remind viewers of inital statement.)Here is the sentence that bleeds into more than one line. I have tried searching online but I can't find it, and I don't have the a ton of experience with after effects. So I hope that makes sense. Thanks! 

 Every time I launched AE, this alert popped up. I'm experiencing crashes a lot more than before, too.  

Hi. I want to move the puppet pin tools in the timeline, so that my animation is faster in that scene. I've tried to move them with the select tool, but it couldn't grab them. So how do I move them? 

After Effects 2024 crashes on launch. I've tried updating After Effects, running safe mode, fixing the permissions, and resetting preferences but none of the remedies work. AE 2024 crashes on my Mac Studio running the latest Sonoma (14.4.1)  Plenty of RAM (128 GB) and Video memory. I can get After Effects 2024 to launch on a different User Account on the same Mac (usually,) but I can't get to the bottom of my primary account's inability to launch this App. I've sent many, many of those crash reports to Adobe, but they go unanswered.  I had one response from here, but he appears to have given up since then.  I do have some issues even in the new account. I've attached a screen grab of an error I get.

Hey guys, I have a really big problem since a rather long period of time already. I'm owning a music YouTube channel and I'm creating audio visualizers for it regularly. It's nothing really special; just some kind of audio visualizer with a logo and background wiggle, nothing more.But still my After Effects program seems to have issues with it... every single time I'm rendering a project of this kind, it renders a REALLY big file, much too big! Like 80GB for a 3 min. video!!! I'm using QuickTime (H.264) in the rendering settings, and that worked perfectly in Windows 7 (max. 100MB for a 3-4 min. video), but since I'm using Windows 10 it doesn't seem to work properly any more. AVI is no alternative because it's even worse in terms of file size.Now, as a workaround, I render every project a 2nd time in another program called "Easy H.264" which renders the videos just perfectly fine, same as Windows 7 did in former times.What could be the problem now? How can I manage to get the normal fil

I have restarted my laptop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I keep on receiving the same message. It is not an issue with permissions as I am the only user on my computer. I also know AE is included in my Adobe Plan. Please help!

I have a customer that has a dropdown list with Pass, Fail, and OUO.  He would like the Pass to be BOLD and Green when selected, the Fail to be BOLD and Red when Selected, and the OUO to be BOLD and black.  I am having trouble with the scripting for this... Please help..Jill
