After Effects 2023 crashes when rendering with adjustment-layer effects enabled Hi Adobe community,I'm having a serious rendering problem in After Effects 2023 and I can't figure out what's causing it.My project is a 1080×1080, 60 FPS edit. When I render normally, After Effects eventually gets stuck/crashes around a specific frame. I also experienced RAM-preview glitches where some footage would flicker/warp or display incorrectly.I tested the project by disabling the effects on my adjustment layers, and the exact same frame renders successfully when the effects are disabled.So I've confirmed that one or more effects on my adjustment layers are causing the rendering problem. Previously, the only way to restore these preview features was to restart the After Effects application entirely. Standard purges via Edit > Purge > All Memory did not solve the issue.Steps to Reproduce:Open a project in After Effects 2025. Switch to another project (via File > Open Project or recent files). The preview engine fails: Adaptive Resolution is ignored, and background idle caching no longer triggers. Solution / Workaround:I found a permanent fix that does not require restarting the app. If you are facing this exact bug, do the following:Go to Preferences > Startup & Repair and click "Clear All Caches".This immediately flushes the corrupted launch/system-level cache that causes the conflict during project switching. Both Adaptive Resolution and Idle Cache instantly start working properly again.Hopefully, the development team can investigate why the rendering engine fails to release or refresh these core system caches when switching projects in AE2025.Environm

Keep showing this alert after a while of using AE 26.3 version

Hi everyone, ever since I updated AE to version 26.0.0 I have experienced render times as much as ten times slower than it used to be in version 25.x.x. For now, I have rolled back installation to a 25 version, but I would very much like to keep up with the versions, including all new features.I read somewhere that I'm not the only one bumping into this problem.What can I do to solve it? To be clear: I can create a project in v 2026 and it renders terribly slow; when I save it as 25.x version and then switch to AE v2025 everything works at proper render times.Will there be an update for v 2026 that solves this problem?

I am looking to create a dynamic social text box in After Effects. Would anyone be able to share a tutorial or advise how to create this?

I caption in premiere but there is an effect I can only do in after effects on the subtitles after I upgrade to graphic. I do replace with after effects composition and it makes each text a separate composition which makes it really time-consuming to put the effects on. Is there a better way to get graphics into AE? Or a way to make them layers instead of compositions?

Hi,Just upgraded to 25.2.2 and I am having a strange issue with adding layers its like it randomly clips or switches color space from one frame to the next. Only started happening after upgrading AE and NVIDIA.The screenshots are from the same project just different frames, as you will see it also affects the scopes. Only effect used is 'Fast Box Blur'Switching to 'Software Only' fixes the issue

It’s been years since I have tried to use Character Animator to auto-detect lip sync for After Effects cartoon characters. I wasn’t happy with the results.I have been using a .MOV file with time remapping and keyframes, where I scrub through the timeline audio and I set keyframes for the phonemes. The MOV file has a frame for each mouth, I scrub, I keyframe.Right now I am making a project where most of the characters only have four different mouths for pretty much all of the sounds. Has anyone managed to build a better mousetrap for auto-detecting phonemes, are am I still resigned to scrubbing & keyframing?Thanks. 

I'm trying to follow the 'Top 10 Skills Editors Want to Master in After Effects' course, but the download for the project files don't work. I've tried to download them many times and in many different ways, but the download keeps getting corrupted. Only I read that multiple people have this problem.Does anyone have a different link for the project files or can the download please be updated?

I created a fairly simple composition featuring infographics. It uses shapes, text, and a few PNG images animated with the Puppet Pin Tool. My PC is quite powerful and has always handled this kind of workload.While I'm working in AE, the playback speed seems normal, and I set the animation timings according to what I see (at any resolution from full to quarter). In the Preview panel, the frame rate matches the composition, and no frames are skipped.Then I render my 2560x1440, 60 fps composition. I don't use interlacing, and the render settings are set to Best Settings. The composition is output in H264 with a bitrate of 10 Mbps. After rendering, it turns out that everything played back twice as slow in AE, and now I see a pretty fast animation.Key point: I intentionally saved the project file as version 25 so I could test it in a previous version of AE. There the composition plays correctly, and it is really quite fast inside AE already, just like in the render.My Specs:Windows 11 CPU:

After Effects crashes constantly, black screen and windows become unresponsive.This happens about last week. Everytime I scrub any file (jpg/png/mp4/vector) After effects lags down, black screen and unresponsive.Other software I use does not experience this lag. I have updated the Graphic driver, no effects. I’ve changed the settings in AE, so far no effects.My specs:Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H (1.40 GHz) 32.0 GB (31.4 GB usable) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (6 GB) Intel(R) Arc(TM) Graphics (128 MB) Storage: 668 GB of 954 GB usedPlease suggest me what to do about this constant problem. I can’t use AE at all.

What should be the value to get an exact cube?  

I’m a Video Editor who edits for fun, specifically using After Effects 2020. I edit on an HP laptop, with an AMD RYZEN processor. Whenever I make video edits, when I zoom out into a black background/no background (specifically while editing pictures), I see some weird lines that sort of act as motion tile near my footage. This only happens if I am editing in a way where I am using no motion tile or reflect in my transitions.I have tried multiple effects and methods, as well as different settings to try to help but nothing helps.I’ve tried adding a black solid layer in the background, adding slight motion tile, etc. I am wondering if the cause for this is the After Effects settings/version itself, or my Laptop (settings/model). I have had other versions of After Effects, and I have had 2020 before on a different laptop but never faced this issue. I will include photos as an example:

With the release of the Mac Studio with M5 Ultra, and Apple’s eye-watering RAM pricing, I’m trying to work out the best upgrade route for overall performance.I currently have a Mac Studio with the top-spec M2 Ultra and 192GB of unified memory. The comparable upgrade would be the top-spec M5 Ultra, but with only 96GB of memory. The jump to 256GB adds roughly £4,000, which simply isn’t viable.Would cutting my memory from 192GB to 96GB undermine the performance gains of the M5 Ultra? Would having only 96GB alongside the maxed-out CPU and GPU create a bottleneck, or does that only become an issue if my workloads actually exceed the available memory?Alternatively, would I be better off choosing the top-spec M5 Max with 128GB of unified memory? It would have less CPU and GPU power than the M5 Ultra, but gives me more memory at a much more reasonable price.My main work is motion graphics, primarily After Effects, alongside Cinema 4D and other Adobe applications. 日本語環境、windows11、複数のPC環境で再現GPUドライバー Nvidia 610.88AE2024　までは正常、AE2025以降のversionで問題あり１）画像１プロジェクトウィンドウ内の素材、コンプ名などすべてのUIフォントの英語の文字詰めがおかしく、読みづらい。AE2024　までは正常に読めていた。画像キャプチャでは「scale」の s,c や　l,e がつながって見えます。その他slowの　l,o がつながっていて作業しづらい。２）画像２特定のエフェクトウィンドウ　「Lumetri カラー」でホイールの説明で文字化けして読めない仕方なく英語環境で使っているがエフェクト等メニューの並び順が変わってしまって使いづらい。
