Hi, I'm sorry I didn't write very well in English.I wanted to suggest something that could help with the flow of After Effects. As in some projects we ended up creating quite a few compositions, you could have the possibility to create groups of comps (similar to Google Chrome tab groups) in this part here:Looks like this (Google Chrome): Thank you for your patience.😁
Hi, I'm brazilian, so I'm sorry I didn't communicate very well in English. In Windows, when someone clicks and secures a program icon and pinned to the Taskbar and drags up, some options appear to be selected. After Effects, for example, shows some of your latest projects, as demonstrated by the first image. I think the Creative Cloud icon could have that same functionality. But instead of using projects like After Effects, it could show apps installed by that user.In my case, for example: After EffectsPremiereIllustratorAuditionMedia EncoderI don't know if I could convey the concept. But I appreciate the attention.I'm sorry, I tried to comment on this idea in the Creative Cloud part, but I couldn't find the suggestion part of ideas for Creative Cloud.
It would be great to have better text formatting options available with Essential Graphics – especially the ability to mix/match text styles in the same text object (bold + regular, etc.). Would also be nice to have access to all the character panel options (line height, etc.)
PLEASE dear developpers:One of the number one element used in explainer videos is a simple moving line with arrowhead. This is always very difficult to animate either or only possible through plugins or expressions.A simple possibility to add an arrowhead to the shape layer line/path would make many animators very happy 🙂Thank you
I think that it will be great to add an option to prevent closing timeline panels. It could be something like "Lock timeline panel" item in dropdown menu.I really miss this feature almost everyday when I dive deep into precomps to change someting in compex projects or making endless edits to numberless compositons. In both cases I fases with tons of timeline panels which really slow down speed of completing working tasks. Lock timeline panel function (hot key too) and a hot key for "Close other timeline panels" could be a good timesaver. A big mess of panels? Click and you have only those panels you need.
Hi,I often use the Select Label Group option. It would be nice if it was in the bottom of the menu instead of the top. I will have to select it just double clicking in the label. Its a small thing, but helps a lot.
Hi ther, Sometime i need working fast on long timelines and changing keyframe values in time. When i drag a keyframe to another keyframe's top it stays same color. I can't understand whitout zooming in. My advice is overlapping keyframes can be highlight any color so we can see overlapping keyframes values change or not. If than can shine any color we can understand value changes long timelines.
Hello! This is a feature that I think would make a big quality-of-life improvement for those of us who often work with text within AE. To illustrate the solution, let me describe the current problem: I'd like to create a reusable rig for Animating text that has specific characters or even whole words to have a different font from the rest of the body text (See the two image examples). Currently, there's no way to do so procedurally with the present option being selecting the characters in question manually and adjusting them (correct me if I'm wrong!).Seeing as we already have a few character controls such as Tracking & Line Spacing available, I think adding the rest of the controls would be just as useful if possible! Ideas for implementing:Expand the Text Animators to allow at least fonts as an exposed parameterIn my mind, unless accounting for variable fonts (which even then AE lacks native support for currently) the string could be updated with only hold keyframes sim
PLEASE institute separate dimensions on all properties that have more than one value. Like Anchor Point, Scale, and most importantly, Orientation. when the camera tracker gives a solution i need the ability to smooth out and correct issues that are always there. separating the position dimensions helps greatly, but the Orientation is 3 axises that are all grouped together and makes correcting rotational issues in the graph editor a total pain.
We use a lot of AE automation.End titles can vary in length. We can't adapt the length of a render range to the length of the content we have. This means end titles always have to be the same length like 1.5 minutes to guarrantee all names will be in there. This however, poses problems when the endtitles have to be started in a live situation: the operator either won't know when the content ends (when you composit from the beginning) or begins (when you composit from end to begin).Rendering exactly to length with help of an expresion would very much help prevent many problems. At least the End point of the workarea should be possible to set with an expression.
3D World and Object/Camera axis animation switch, even numeric. When animating 3D it is often extremely hard to animate objects over their own axis. You can somewhat do this with the switches above the viewport but they don't seem to really work properly. I'd like to be able to determine myself if a camera or object flies over it's pre rotated axes or over the world view axis.In numeric applications it is even worse to try and make an item fly over it's own pre rotated axis. The adobe tool badly garble the pure numeric values as they can be found in real 3D software.
In preferences, the ability to select pro 3D camera settings:- No orientation but true rotation only.- One node camera I need to fix this for every 3D camera animation which is ted
I think the title is quite explanatory.Sometimes, Ae does not encounter that files have changed (e.g. 3d renders). It would be nice to have a possibility to refresh all, without having to selected alle footage (deep in hierarchy).
We've all been there, done a 3d camera track and waiting for all 300 frames to analyze only to be reminded we need to precomp it because our source resolution doesn't match the comp resolution. Why can't that warning happen BEFORE we sit through all the analysis, like when the effect is initially put on the layer? [Original Title: Don't tell me my resolution is wrong AFTER analyzing every frame of a video with 3d camera tracker]
I'm a learner, but I'm pretty sure it is not supposed to work like this. First off, I'm on Windows 11 using the most updated version of AE. To the best of my knowledge, the settings in my AE are the default, "fresh out of the oven" AE settings. The issue: I had made a simple track matte animation and was exploring with the pre-comp feature. The animation itself was a very simple move-from-position-A-to-position-B animation and there was a matte applied to it so that it would appear to scroll into a selected region. Now, I had precomposed this and selected a region of interest in the new precomp. After deciding I didn't like the region I had selected, I hit ctrl+Z. That undid the animation though, not the last action performed that was the selected region of interest. I can fiddle around with this and get back to the original state it was in, but is this how it's supposed to work? I guess I could see it, but it seems rather incovenient.
Using the MFR stuff in a different way, I would like to be able to set a comp to generate a ram preview in one comp and be able to continue working within another comp while waiting on the ram preview to finish for review.
now it says "That button can't be reassigned" for some weird reason.
From the very beginning I thought the properties panel was pointless. One thing that would make it somewhat usefull is apart from showing ordinary transform propertiesit would also show Essential properties for a selected precomp if it has any.We can access Position Rot Scale and Opacity with key triggers, so they are never out of reach, but the Essential Properties always take a lot of clicking to reach - if we could have access to them through the properties panel it would be awesome.
Controlling the animation curve is often the difference between quality and crap. The ability to have greater control over the curve in an expression beyond linear and ease options would be fantastic. thanks!
Would be nice to be able to use a guide layer in AE outside of the composition preview window. It would be nice to have it full scale and placed off to the left of the canvas at a 1:1 ratio to the actual asset you're working on. I'm finding when doing short form edits inside of AE, I use a guide layer to make sure my cuts are on time, but also to reference creative from a previous round of work, and being able to see my guide layer without having to shy it on/off would be super useful.
I wonder why there is no support for .Cine inside After Effects while the codec is support in Premiere. That will help with integration between software and relief from a lot of transcode. The codec is really not that heavy and just need to have RAW settings available in the Interpret Dialogue... Options button. Thanks
AE expressions currently support the following interpolation types: linear, ease, ease in and ease out.To provide better control over the easing curve, I propose implementing an additional interpolation type: Bezier. A matrix of 4 values would be used to define a cubic bezier (similar to how this is handled in CSS animation) Something like this:bezier(t, tMin, tMax, value1, value2, [0.4, 0.14, 0.3, 1]) A nice little enhancement, which would allow greater creative control over expression based animation. Thanks for your consideration.
The Camera Tracker is in dire need need of an Advanced Feature set. Film back size with known/approximate focal length with savable presets. FOV is not enough. FOV is the result of Film Back & Focal Length, not the other way around. Supervised trackers. there needs to be a way to use motion trackers in camera tracker as supervised trackers to assist in the solving of the camera and estimate of the point trackers. this is a must have. Make masks work on the layer for the exclusion and inclusion of areas for the point trackers to track. no more of this precomping masks to ignore objects. A solve button. let me choose when I want to solve A real lens distortion workflow. This should be comprised of a few things: First, please go look at what Russ Anderson has done with the lens distortion workflow from Syntheyes to After Effects. It is a simple a brilliantly executed workflow with an actual lens distortion plug in and a lens grid to
Imagine being able to open everything in our layers (like path in shape layer that is hard to reach) that needs to be clicked one by one and now only need setting up a keyboard shortcut to do so. As when we select a layer and press U on the keyboard, we open only keyframed properties in that layer.
I would love to see a search and re-link function that searched all folders at tthe click of a button, just like Premiere. Is there any reason this has not been applied?
