I've got a smartphone video of people taking turns speaking from a lecturn in a large, reverb-rich indoor space. The spoken words are barely intelligible, and I'm hoping to improve the quality. I'm hearing two severe issues throughout:- Booming reverb/echoes- A warbly flange/under water effect; I'm thinking is a compression artifactPer helpful tutorials I've found online, I've played with Audition's DeReverb and tried minimizing echo by tweaking frequencies via Audition's parametric EQ, but the results are only marginally better.I'm especially wondering if there's a tool that might help remediate the warbly flange effect?Any suggestions for an amateur? Thanks.
Hi there, I have a 20 second .wav file that I drop directly into Audition. When I right-click it in the Files window and select "New Multitrack Session," it places this clip at the end of a 25 hour session. This makes it impossible to zoom and fine-tune the clip in the multitrack session. This is what it looks like when first creating it:And this is the most it can zoom in:
hi, im looking for an effect, that makes a mono channel to stereo: autamticall rotate to L and then to R, maybe i can set the "rhythm" of it... thankx
10 years ago...A proud Adobe Audition user by the name of _lauri_ asked a simple question."Is there a way to adjust horizontal scrolling speed (shift+scrollwheel)? In default settings I find it unusable slow."- 6th June 2011To celebrate this milestone of insufficient customer support/user experience, I thought I'd go ahead and make this post. As it stands today on the 1st of July 2021, there have been almost thirty thousand(!) paying customers of the Adobe Suite that have not had their need met.As a podcast editor by trade, it is obnoxiously inefficient to have a horizontal scrolling feature as slow as it is currently. Trying to edit sometimes 2 hour long podcast without an easy way to scrub through the timeline (or source file) is infuriating.Scrolling through the 10 year old thread with only 1 comment from an employee in that time was quite disheartening and highlights the lack of awareness Adobe has towards it's customers that use this software. So please Adobe... Celebrate this 10 y
Silly question, but in older versions one could serch for ma music library right in Audition. Now there is a link to download, but I only see SFX...no music.
I'm having this issue with recording audio in 32-bit where the peaks of the signal that exceeded 0dB are still being cut off when I reduce the gain after recording. I'm not being able to get the headroom that is expected when recording in 32-bit. The reason why I'm having high +0dB peaks is because I'm transferring audio from a Tascam 388 and some of that audio on the reels was recorded a bit in the red. I'm running from the Tape Outs on the 388 and have the input gain at minimum level on the interface that I'm using for transfer (Tascam 16x08) so I can't reduce the signal input volume any further. I'm recording the digital audio into Audition in 32-bit at 48kHz and again, when I try to recover the peaked audio I just get flat, cut off waveforms. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Hi everyone, First time seeking help here. I recorded an interview in a forest for a podcast. So we can hear the wind, and the sound is great on the waveform version...but as soon as I listen to the same clip on the multitrack, the sound is super high, the sound of the wind too, and even if I lower the sound, its quality is really less good. What should I do exactly? Thank you!Oh and...English is not my mothertong so if someone speaks French that would be wonderful. But anyway, I understand English too, but just try to not use slangs or too complicated words...thank you very much in advance!
As of 14.2, you can set the default stretch mode for a clip -- realtime or rendered -- but I don't think you can set the default stretch type -- monophonic, polyphonic, or varispeed. I want to default to varispeed, since I use stretching entirely to adjust speed and pitch. Having to manually set it each time is a bit tedious (at least you can set it for many clips at once!) Is there any way to make this the default? If not, it'd be great if it was added as a setting. (I saw a thread for this, but it's from 2017, so I'm not sure it's relevant now!)
Hello. How can I have vertical lines display automatically in Mulitrack view based on my selected tempo when the time is displayed in Bars and Beats? This is the default in Waveform view and I'm hoping I can set this as a default in Multitrack, too. Thank you!
How can I add time to a clip (most likely in Waveform view) without stretching it for looping purposes? I'm able to shorten in without condensing it. Can I do the opposite? Thank you!

Hi, I am working with bioacoustics in animals sounds and I need to do frequency analysis.I would like to determine the dominant frequency in the different sounds. However, I don't know how to do this or interpret it according to the program. At the moment I have calculated the frequency by measuring the repetitions of patterns in the wave (a bit old-fashioned).What is this type of frequency called or rather what are each one called?Help!
I'm not sure how to properly explain this. I am editing a video in Premiere. I want to do some audio post-processing in Audition. I hit "Edit sequence in Adobe Audition" from Premiere. And the problem is, I don't just get the sound that I left in the video, I also get some of the sound I cut out. See image below.I don't want the bits that I cut out to be present. They don't show up in the end product, only when I edit each clip individually. But I don't want them affecting my editing (for example, if I use Normalize, I don't want that extra sound to be considered in the normalization process). Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
In the 3.0 version that I used until I recently purchased the 2021 version, there was a neat feature when mixing tracks where you could right click on a track and you would be presented with various options for that track. One option was "TRACK EQ" which I used a lot to make vocals sound crisper. This option for the track is not available in the 2021 version in the manner I described above. Is it available in the 2021 version another way?
I'm perplexed: My playhead is working/moving perfectly, but I cannot play the waveform circled in Red in the attached image. I can play every other waveform in the image, including the other waveforms in the first Track/Clip.The waveforms that I have circled in Blue play perfectly when my playhead moves across them. However, when my playhead moves across the waveform that I have highlighted in a Red Circle, it won't play it. It's as though the waveform itself is muted but it is not.I've checked everything: it is not muted in any way, the other waveforms in track/clip 1 play correctly, there are no effects on that particular waveform. I just don't understand why it won't play that 1 waveform. As a test, I sent the .sesx file and all accompanying audio files to a friend who opened up the .sesx project, and the problem waveform played perfectly on his computer. And we're both using the latest version of audition.
On the latest and all, PC. Noted that users from 4 years ago had a similar issue, so I wonder if it is user error or not.Voiceover over music bed, sidechained using Dynamic Compression. Sounds fine in Audition. Exporting stems for work reasons results in un-compressed music bed.Is there something special to do to preserve the sidechaining when mixing down to stems?
How is it possible to select an area in the Multi-track View?I know only how to deselect (with G(, but selecting is only possible in the Waveform view. Thanks for help
When I open waves tune on adobe audition, it says "ReWire Link Cannot Be Established in Waves Tune". I used to use a windows pc, and it was working there, but I changed to a new mac, and it just says that. All my other waves plugins work, but it's just waves tune that has the problem. I tried finding solutions online, but I couldn't come across any recent solutions on the adobe audition. I'm using a 2020 M1 MacBook pro. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
I have a 40-min audio documentary with a bunch of historical clips that I'm trying to export as an OMF. I'm using "Referenced," not "Encapsulated," so that I'm not bound by the 2 GB limit. Ideally, I'd like to export the entire referenced audio files or as much as them as possible. When I choose "Use Entire File," the export instead gives me 10 second handles on the side of each audio file. Does anyone know if there's a way to get an OMF to export with the entire referenced audio files? (For kicks, I also tried "Trim Audio Files to Clip Length" and put in 30s handles, to see if I could get more of the original files. The OMF export re-saved each individual cut's reference file as its own new sound file, resulting in a 150GB folder.) Thanks for any help!
Hello! I'm working on a project for a big company. I'm now going back to make final edits to sessions I started months ago, and the files won't open. Last time they were opened was late May. I'm running MacOS Big Sur, macbook pro M1.The error reads: Error: This file is not supported by libsndfile. Code: 2. System error : Input/output error. I tried installing an older version of Audition, as I use creative cloud and it updates automatically. That didn't help.Any suggestions???
