Audition

Hello everybody, I discovered the effect Mastering (Effects->Special) and one of its options caught my eye: It's the one which let's you control the stereo balance. I need it to focus the sound in my songs on the center channel. So if I put the slider on - 100% it does a good job but I noticed that this adds unwanted frequencies. I'll explain it with an example: A song has vocals, piano and strings. The strings and piano are on the left and right channel (they are recognizable as stereo sound when listening with headphones) while the vocals are on the center channel. If I use that stereo balancing effect from the Mastering option on -100%, I hear the high frequencies of the outer channels (in this example it would be the strings and piano) in the center channel. The frequency section of that sound starts around 1500hz. I do not have this problem when I put the slider on +100%. Can I prevent this by changing some settings in the Master window? Or what else can I do to prevent bringin

Hi guys,got a problem with the dynamic link from Premiere CC to Audition CC. I want to use the video file as a reference while working on the audio files. Everything works well except the video! Black screen, although there is a video file in the Audition time line. Sure I can render the file as a mpeg preview in premiere, but it should work with dynamic link too! It is the newest version of Audition and Premiere.Any experiences or advices?Thanks for your help!All the best,André

Hey!Just picked up the Presonus StudioLive AR12 Mixer.  Using with windows 10 and Adobe Audition CC 2017 with the ASIO driver to multitrack and record podcasts.  I use 4 headset mics and want to playback audio into headsets after recording, but am having trouble.  How do I send audio (for review) from Audition back to the headsets?

Something has happened in the most recent update.It used to be when Auto-scrolling was selected during playback....when you clicked in the waveform to make an edit...it kept playing but STOPPED scrolling.Now, while the waveform is playing...you can't click and make and edit WHILE it's playing. You have to stop the entire file from playing...click and make an edit.Is there any solution for this?MASSIVE slow down and frustration during editing because of this.

Tengo un problema cuando grabó al momento de dar clic en el botón grabar se escucha un zumbido si doy clic en botón amarillo  (I) que es el de monitoreo se escucha el zumbido y si lo apago aun así al grabar el audio me queda con el zumbido no es la mezcladora porque probé con otra me hizo  lo mismo no es la computadora porque probé con otras 2 con más ram 4 núcleos  me hizo lo mismo el zumbido no es ruido ambiente es algo diferente y aparte que puedo hacer en que me podrían ayudar se los agradecería  bastante de hecho ya probé con 2 softwares más y me hace lo mismo invertí en cables de buena calidad y sigo igual lo único que me falta es usar micrófono de condensador pero pues ya se me terminaron los recursos pero bueno espero su respuesta gracias y hasta luego ayuda  porfa.

Long time Audition user experiencing something new with 2018 version. Nearly every time I start a new, clean file – either via hitting the record button or by selecting "New File" – and choosing either a mono or a stereo recording, 96KHz, 24-bit, as I have done for years, when the window closes and the GUI opens the main window, I get a system freeze. Every time this happens, the window is strangely defaulted as zoomed in to sample level, too, as opposed to zoomed out to view the waveform "drawing" as it records as normal. This is on a 2012 Mac Pro, 32 GB memory, very fast hard drives, running OS Sierra. Sound card is Apogee Duet for Mac/iPad.I've never had any issue like this with Audition before, ever, until the upgrade. Creating a new file first, then hitting "record", doesn't stop the problem from happening. The problem happens maybe 75% of the time. Help?

I'm working on Audition at home this weekend and the frame rate, i.e. the speed of updates to the playback bars and the time indicator, is slow. At work, I use a 1920x1080 monitor on a recent Lenovo laptop and all is well. Why would performance be worse on a 4K screen with a 1080 Ti? My CPU is a liquid-cooled 6-core, 12-thread Haswell-E Intel, the 5930K. During playback, it never goes above 16% utilization. The files are located on my boot drive, a 512 GB Samsung 850 Evo.I have never had a performance issue on anything except The Witcher 3. Can I force Audition to downscale its resolution? How do I get it to display properly?

Hi,I have been encountering an issue lately which seems to occur during the saving process of individual audio files. Prior to a recorded voice track being saved, the audio is completely normal. After being saved however, the tail of the audio is cut (around 1 second of audio) and repeated with a large negative DC offset, resulting in a lot of clipping. Interestingly, the .pkf file does not show any clipping and hence when opened in Audition, the waveform looks normal. Only upon zooming in is the clipping shown. The below images show the audio zoomed out with no clipping and zoomed in with clipping.I have come across this issue on two separate PC's running Audition CC 2018. This has only started occurring since upgrading from Audition 3.0. Has anyone else encountered this?

I am recording audio from an Audio Technica mic through a Yamaha TF5 into Audition. Every other time I've done this, I've had no issues. Maybe low levels, but that's it. This time, however, the audio sounds like a robot practicing tones. Is there any way to revert this to the audio of a person speaking? I have been editing a series of files and need to insert 2 seconds of silence at the end of each file. For awhile when I opened the silence dialog, it defaulted to 2 seconds. I have been editing some other work and now when I open the dialog it defaults to 1:23. Any idea where that comes from? I have tried various things but the 1:23 persist. It would be really nice to get it back to 2 so I didn't need to change it every time.

I loaded up my saved project and I noticed all the EQ effects I applied to dialogue clips have just simply disappeared. I am at 20 minutes of a thirty minute film, so I have applied a lot of EQ to a lot of clips and suddenly the fx has just disappeared. I don't know what I have done and even when I try to re-apply the EQ in the waveform view, it applies the EQ, but then in the multitrack it's not showing any fx symbol and the effect hasn't been applied. I am pretty new to audition. It's possible I have clicked something by mistake, i can't for the life of me figure out what's happened or how to fix it. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I have no idea why, but sometimes when there is a gap between two clips and I choose Ripple Delete, the option for Gap is gray and is not selectable.I have no idea if I have accidentally changed modes, or set a preference somewhere, or if it's because of the tool I have selected.  It doesn't happen every time, and I'm not sure what I'm doing differently.  I'm using CC build 11.0.0.199 on a Mac using OSX 10.11.6Reproduction steps:Add a clip to a multitrack sessionUse the razor tool cut the clip twiceSelect the clip between the two cutsPress delete on the keyboardRight click (control click) the gapHover over Ripple Delete from the context menuNotice that Gap is grayThis is only the case sometimes, but once it starts I basically can't use that feature on the project any more, which is an important part of the workflow since pressing Option Delete to delete a time selected piece of a clip doesn't move the remaining clips to close the gap, only the clip you are removing a section

I'm not sure. Things kept popping up. I've had this happen multiple times. The overlaid fade-out button will simply disappear for one part of a track. Nothing I can do will get it back. The fade works fine on other clips. Where did it go?  

So I recorded a few voiceovers for a tutorial series I'm making. I didn't change any settings on the microphone, but they're all a little bit different from each other. Is there a way I can average them all out? Thanks!

Hello, I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but i'd Like to know if there is a way to get 2 outputs after applying effects? Like say you use acapella and it gives you the version with lessened instruments. I was wondering if there is a way to also get the "version" where it contains only the stuff that was removed. Hello All.First post.I'm working in Multitrack. I hoped the Rack Effect - Hard Limiter. When I attempt to close the menu window, it does the opposite. Instead, it creates a duplicate window. I've tried restarting with no success. Any ideas?Thank you,David

I'm not able to figure out how to set the default mp3 export settings for multitrack time selection.The default while exporting is mp3 but I constantly have to change the format settings from 160 to 320 kbps.Is there a way to change it?I need to make two extra clicks on every export.I have searched the web and forums and have not found a solution for it so far.

I could really use it, but I have no idea where to look for the program now that I've installed the extension!I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction, my cloud exchange tells me it installed.Also tried Annaistasiy's Extension Installer...Also looked here and no luck-Choose Window > Extensions > Adobe Audition Portal to access extensions.It's probably under my nose.Danny

I'm of Egyptian Jewish descent and am learning the Egyptian Jewish music system. I've found some recent recordings of a fairly good chanter, but unfortunately he spent so long living in America that his chanting has shifted to a more western scale than the Eastern scale. The scale should properly be:d, e quarter flat, f, g, a, b quarter flat, c, d. And his chanting is now (obviously)d, e, f, g, a, b, c, dI'd like to manually go in and adjust the e and b notes to being a quarter flat. Anyone have any ideas on how I could do that in Audition?
