Hi, normally I use Audition the way it was intended.. editing videos and music, but this is a little different.Is there a way to setup Audition 2018 to act like a sound level meter (used to register volume) in an office or such.Trying to prove new neighbor are excessively loud after hours.Thanks for your assistance

How to increase the actors' dialogue volume but not the background air conditioner in the car which was way blowing air way too loud and I had a hard time lowering the blowing noise of the car's air conditioner with Dehummer and Noise Reduction and after that is somewhat accomplished now, I would need to raise the volume of the actors' dialogue without pumping up the volume of the background ac noise in the car again ? How to ? Thanks in advance.

Hello,I've been using Audtion for awhile constructing a stereo mix of a few tracks. Nothing unusual, standard multi-track session. Up until the new CC download a couple/few weeks back, I never had the problem I am having now. When I export the time selection shown in the image attached, the first track is silent. It is very, very strange. The only thing I can track this emerging problem to was the new update.In the corresponding picture, you'll see the top track is the track in question with the underlying track, the result of the export of soloed track 1 (above it). You'll see that silence is all that results. I have tried numerous little tweaks to solve what should not be an issue to begin with. I am dumbfounded as to why this first track will not export with audio. When I play it back in real time, it plays back perfectly.Also, if I increase the time selection to include track 3 in the export, that track emerges after the silence. Again, you can see in the graphic attached how odd t

the last time the support service responded that the problem was due to the use of third-party plug-ins. But the problem was also exacerbated with internal plugins.when adjusting the effect (any) through envelopes in a multitrack - in rendering it gives out either silence or silence followed by a repeated click, methodically accelerated.while the tracks on which there are no envelopes - are rendered well and without errors.when rendering all tracks (including a track with an envelope), you get a file with the sound from the tracks without envelopes, but without the tracks of the track with the envelope (or with a methodically repeated click on top of the sound from the other tracks)wtf?

Add punch and roll back in please. I also do long form and don't want to switch to Reaper  I understand version version 1 had it and version 2 & 3 changed it and it was then dropped.  How hard would it be to add it back in when they already have the code. ?

I just downloaded Audition CC (whatever the last update in October/November was)Here are the computer/program specs:Using a Tascam US1200When I try to record there are two issues:1. My voice is coming through as distorted, static nonsense. Very similar to what a scratching record sounds like but in split second fragments.2. When my voice does come through, there's a terrible 1/2 second latency. It's timing is so bad that each word I say repeats in my monitor exactly after I say it. It's like the worst kind of parrot.Any advice?*****UPDATE*****It seems like my computer doesn't play friendly with the podcast template but does alright with the standard 6 track multitrack set up. The latency is definitely better in this setting but is still considerably behind.

Hi all,Two questions regarding organizing your media in the "files" window of Audition.First off...no bins?  Absolutely, positively absurd.  Sound projects, just like video or photography projects, benefit from organizing your media into categories (ie ambient sound, foley, dialog) and working without them is very confusing and cumbersome.  So add my voice to the crowd...bins, please! Secondly, say I'm beginning an audio project.  I bring all my media into the "files" window and start to work on it.  Maybe I have brought some files onto tracks but not others, or maybe I'm just doing the first step of the project and bringing my media in, and then calling it a day.  I save the project.  I re-open the project, and the only files that were saved in the files window are those that have been dragged onto a track?  Is there a way, as in Premiere, to load media into my files window and have it saved there regardless of if I start mixing with it in the t

I record my podcast on Audition using a Presonus Fire Studio mixer, Heil PR40 mic, and Skype. Upon updating to Audition 2008, I'm seeing a warning statement (see attached screen shot) regarding disk cache preferences. When I go to Media & Disk Cache, see second screen shot) what should I click or un-click to keep this warning from appearing? Thank you.Mark

When I duplicate a sequence, the audio in the duplicate sequence distorts and crackles and is unusable.  If I save the project, close and reopen in it, the audio in the duplicate sequence works fine.  If I create a new sequence and copy everything over, the audio works fine.  It is only when I duplicate and it happens every time.  Visually, the audio track looks fine, I can see the waveform and it is the right colour, just audibly there is an issue.  The main sequence is never affected, the audio is still good in that one.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  Opening and closing the project is a work-around but not an ideal solution.

Hello All,I need to go through the normalization, compression, hard limiter processes. No problem with that part other than learning what works best, but when I install them on the Effects Rack, and then hit "Apply," they disappear from the rack. I'd like them to stay there because I'll need to use them again and want to save a little time (and the settings I've input if possible) by choosing from the Rack instead of drop down menus.Thank you.Steve

Unable to get mirrored image in audition 2018 when Alt key is held down, only fading on one sided

I have a waveform I want to process with an EQ-Filter. After that I want to have the frequency-amplitude plot before and after the equalising. Both frequency responses of the waveform , before and after the eq must me on the same plot. Is there any way I can do that with Audition ? Thanks in advance

Audition CC 2018 on W10 with REALTEK HD. Recording problem. Mike OK on speakers but is ignored by Audition CC. Solution?

Hi there, relatively new user looking for a little help.Any time I try to use the text to speech feature found by navigating Effects > Generate > Speech, the result always comes out with some kind of problem. The audio clip will always have the voice cut out and/or repeat itself in strange ways.For example, if the text I enter is: "For more information, please go to website dot com"Then the audio clip might say: "For more infor-- For more informa-- For more information, please go to website dot com"Or the audio clip will sound fine, but it will repeat the statement two or even three times.I'm completely lost as to what could be causing this and I've struggled like hell to find any discussions that even remotely address issues similar to this.Please help!

This problem just started.  I was attempting to insert an mp3 into multi-track and it will not show up.  For soem reason it will show up in Wave view but will not into multi track.  None of the files from this folder will.  I tried another folder and they transfer fine. I even ried trashing the folder and the files and starting a new folder and re downloading the files into a new folder.  What is funny is all the other files in past folders download fime.  I checked files in a folder before and in a folder after and even before and they insert fine can somebody tell me whats going on

I always have detected dropped samples when I am playing something from audition. The version I have is the 2018. It does the same thing when I record something. What could cause that?

HiNewbie idiot picture editor back again. Is there a way of splitting a bwf multitrack file to mono clips (i.e. so I can noise reduce the individual mics)? I'm hoping to do noise reduction, export a matching BWF and then relink my 'noisy' file in premiere to my 'cleaner' file from Audition.Thanks

How do you install this card properly for CS6 multitrack recording purposes?

I record podcasts using Adobe Audition, a Presonus Fire Studio mixer, a Heil PR 40 mic, Sony headphones, and Skype. I just upgraded Audition to 2018 and now I am having issues with my mic. I hear my voice back through by headphones. My mic is hyper sensitive to my breath and voice. It’s almost an echo but not quite. When I import a sesx file to edit, the same issue is heard until I click on the file to edit, and then things sound okay. When I upgraded I had to reset all my preferences presets for recording and set them exactly as I had before. Thank you for your help.

I just updated Audition through the cloud app. Started recording and heard what I was playing through the monitors even though I hadn't clicked the little 'I' button next the the Record button. Went to Preferences thinking there might be a 'don't playback when recording' tick box. Nothing. So I went back to the previous version. wasted an afternoon.Why does Adobe do these upgrades without really checking to make sure everything that WAS working in the previous version STILL works in the so called upgrade? TL;DR version:Can i view source timecode of wav file in Audition?— — —I’m a picture editor. But on short form / quick turnaround we end up finishing sound. With AdobeCC we get a reasonable arsenal within PremPro but some things have to go to Audition for clean up.Typically this is dialogue. Usually 2+ personal mics (interviewer/interviewees) that are balanced with room tone in gaps, routed to a dialogue bus with light compression, bit of eq to roll off highs & lows, brick wall limiter to protect true peak.Once the edit is complete there is usually limited time to clean up that dialogue further. Today, for example, that was the two jobs of trying to reduce the intermittent noise as one of the camera sliders did its thing in an interior interview and ’heal’ a siren behind an exterior interview.Currently I bypass the sub mix effects and export a mono wav of just the dialogue, open that wav in Audition and use noise print removal for the former and the heal brush for the latter.This wo

This applies specifically to Audition 2018 Build 11.0.0.199By default, Smart Monitoring in Multitrack is enabled. This causes Audition to send back to your sound device the signals that you are recording, for monitoring purposes. The snag with this is that these signals are inevitably delayed, due to processing latency, and if you mix this with any form of direct monitoring - which is what you'd normally use to avoid latency altogether - you can end up with very strange noises that you don't want.The solution is simple: Navigate to Edit>Preferences>Multitrack:And when you are there, you will see this screen:You need to take the check OUT of the item ringed in red - then you will be back to the monitoring conditions that you are used to.
