I am making some sales videos for work and I have a major audio issue. I think there is an electrical short in my microphone or something happened to it between the studio and location. I am NOT an audio engineer by any standards, in fact it is my weak point. I extracted the audio from the clip in After Effects and brought the WAV into Audition. I have learned how to reduce noise, clicks/hiss, and other basics in Audition, however none of this tackles these blips. The ones between spoken words I can cut, but is there a way to smooth the waveform where it gets deformed by the electricity? Not looking for someone to do the work, just tell me what tool I should be using. The green shows the regular waveform look to the speaker's speech patter. The gred X shows where it is destroyed in the glitch. The question mark is another unidentified anomlous sound or glitch. I work with video, so I know what I can see, not neccessarily what I can hear.
I am looking to measure the TP for a 5.1 audio file. I need to do this for Dolby Atmos loudness specifications. So doing an amplitude analysis and getting the TP for each channel doesn't help. I can do this in Pro Tools (audiosuite/offline analysis) using iZotope's Insight but I was hoping to find a way to do it in Audition. Is it possible?
I film/live stream for corporate companies and this one shoot I was on there were 10 mics and a few other sources being sent from an audio board through Dante into audition. There was a ton of starting and stopping recording. I would like to be able to send time code from a timecode generator to audition As an input of some kind. That way The audio will have the same timecode as the video in post. I was wondering if there was a way to pull this off. I know ProTools has a solution, but I would like to stick with audition.
Windows Audition version 6 (stand alone) Windows 11 Pro, new machine. I have a CD I am trying to install from. First it tells me it can't find a previous version (this must have been an upgrade) and asks for a serial number to a previous version. I give that, it's accepted and the install begins. It never finishes because it stops on a popup screen that says I must "upgrade my browser and operating system" - since the browser and OS are far more recent, that can't be done. There is no cancel or exit from this screen. The only way to make it go away is to get up Task Manager and kill the process. I've been using Audition since it was Cool Edit Pro (before Adobe bought it) and really need it on this new machine, or there's no point in having the new machine. Any suggestions?
Help! My team's external lavalier mic/transmitter/receiver didn't work. We recorded an entire shoot and only have the audio from the DSLR mic. The talent sounds echoey and distant. A reshoot/ADR is not possible. Does anyone have any tutorials or detailed steps on how to use Adobe Audition to make it sound like it's coming from the lav? Any help is much appreciated!!
Hi everyone, I have been trying to slow down a portion of an audio clip in adobe audition but everytime I do so, I get a warning symbol and the rest of the selections I have pulled from the longer clip change and are no longer the same portions I selected. I have been pulling a few seconds from a longer clip, going to waveform, selecting the section of the clip I want to change only, and then slowing the section down -- elongating the clip -- using the "Time and Pitch" effect. When I go back to multitrack view and click on other sections I have pulled out of the longer clip, they are no longer the same moments, but have been moved back or forward in relation to the longer clip. Also, every portion of the clip has a yellow warning symol on it. Is there a way to change the speed of a certain copied portion of a clip without it effecting the other sections of the clip, or even better, without it effecting the clip the section was copied from at all?&
Hi! Who would like to be able to combining 2 channels into 1 in spectral editing mode?Audition can layer to channels in waveform view. But cannot in spectral view.iZotope RX already has it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHRZD5_CCGQP.S. RX also can code stereo signal into MS isntead of LR.Thank you!
Hi everybody, I am trying to do lip-sync in Adobe Animate with a recording which is originally done with Voice Memos on the iPhone. I have exported this Voice Memo recoding with audition as AIFF en WAV mono en stereo and nothing seems to work. The Voice memo recording is originally mono. (I have to work with Voice Memo recordings until I get the professional recordings from the client) Thanks for your help!Cristina
Hi Adobe Community,I am currently working on an audio strip that contains an interview of a friend for a video that I first worked on in Premiere Pro -- I merely wanted to reduce the background noise within the clip so I exported and imported the clip into Adobe Audition. This is my first time using Audition so I was following some tutorials and it had me take the 'noise print' of the background noise I wanted to eliminate and although it did minimize a majority of the noise in the background it seemed to greatly affect the main audio foundation of the interview. Then my friend's voice became very gurgily and some what metallic. The tutorial did advise me that this would happen since noise reduction process is a very finicky and powerful tool. Later the tutorial had me use 'adaptive noise reduction' to take care of this gurgily and metallic sound. However, this only took care of some more background noise and hardly touched the distorted sound that was affected after reducing the noise.
Hi! I'm making podcasts using Audition, but it sometimes works too slow. Device: MacBook Air (2020), Apple silicone M1, RAM 16GB, Storage 512GBApp: Audition ver. 14.2 (latest) Situation:I used "Delite silence/Clean up podcast interview preset" for 2 Tracks, which are 30 min long. After split them, I moved the split clips to the other tracks. (This already takes a long time)When I try to move or delete one clip, the rainbow swirling appears and it spins for a few minutes. This is my first use of the automatic "delete silence" feature, so is it normal behavior? Is this feature needs high memory?I think my machine has enough memory and power, and I don't use other apps too much at the same time. I'm glad if you have any solution. Thanks!
Hello allI recceived Scarlett Solo 4 gen and xlr audio technica AT2020 mic. Everything is plugged in and seems to be working with Adobe Audition but I'm curious on something. Prior to this new setup, I was working with an audio technica AT2020 USB mic and I was able to do my recordings under 'Waveform'. Now it seems that I have to record under 'Multitrack'. Why is that? Also when I am in multitrack, I cannot see my 'levels' of recording dB like I can see it when I'm in Waveform. Are there videos out there that explain how to use Scarlett Solo to Adobe Audition/ Thank you!
I've used many DAWs and sound editing apps for the last 30 years and I have to say that Audition is one of the worst.I'm usually able to figure most functions out either by trying out or reading a manual, but even Adobe's guides and manuals are now just a bunch random blog posts?!All I want to do is export a multichannel .wav file to single .wav files and Media Encoder only allows you to pick one pair of LR channels to export at a time! It's as if the team responsible for this app has permanently left the building and no-one noticed and now the app just sits there, being completely useless.
I need advice from those with more experience in audio editing.Based on my experience, I consider myself an amateur at best. My typical process for editing content involving 8-13 people, each with varying microphone audio quality and volume levels, is as follows: 1. Leveling the Audio: I start by leveling the audio to -3dB.2. Volume Adjustment: Since 2 or 3 people are usually much quieter than others, I use the amplitude and compression feature, selecting the Speech Volume Leveler. This helps bring those quieter voices up to a clear, audible level.3. Noise Reduction and Editing:• Previously, I applied a general de-noise filter to the entire track, then listened through the track to cut out gaps, breathing sounds, and other unwanted noises, using the eraser tool for mouse clicks. However, I had to stop using the general de-noise option because it often altered the vocal clarity due to inconsistencies in the microphones.• My new approach is to use the Noise Reduction (Process) tool.
Hello, I am using a 2019 mac with 40 GB ram and Somoma 14.5.I am using Audition 20.0.3.3. Suddenly I can't record. The Audio Hardware and Audio mapping seem correct but it won't record.I can record in Audacity with no problem. I have reinstalled Audition twice. Any ideas of where the problem could be? I not an IT expert but not a beginner either. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.D
As long as I've been using CE/CEP/AA, it seems like I Have to learn this over and over and over again. I've done searches today and can only find references for how to RECORD a new favoritge in Adobe Audition 2021. How can I simply add an oft-used effect (in this case, a 3rd-party VST mouth de-clicker) to the Favorites panel? I feel kinda stupid having to ask this. But honestly, I can't find the answer anywhere at the moment. Can someone at least point me in the right direction? Thanks!
I am using the latest version of Adobe audition cc and I would like to transfer all effects settings and favorites from one installation to another. I am licensed for two copies and they are both the same version of each computer. I've tried copying the appdata files from one installation to another as instructed elsewhere and it does not work. I use this for my job and really need those settings and favorites on both. How do I get this to work?
Ok, so I tried to contact Adobe, because my problem seems to be something odd. This was after I've come here a few different times with the same problem. I'll try again, to see if anybody has had this problem. In the multi track mode, I can, of course, adjust the levels of each channel. But, when I do "Mixdown Session to New File", when I increase the level of the whole mix, it doesn't save that way, it seems to save only what was in the Multi Track mode. It shows that the volume is up where it needs to be, it just doesn't save it that way. Any other changes seem to be saved - deleting excess at the beginning of the track, fade out at the end, just the volume doesn't save. I've tried saving in Save As, AND Export. Either way, if I increase the volume in the Mixdown mode, it doesn't save. The only way to increase the volume of the whole mix is to go back to the Multi Track mode and increase each channel individually.
Can Wix support the embedding of both audio and video players for streaming purposes? Are there limitations based on the hosting plan or bandwidth considerations? What are the recommended steps or best practices for optimizing my Wix website to handle audio and video streaming without performance issues? Are there specific plugins or third-party integrations compatible with Wix that could enhance the functionality of my broadcasting setup?
On the latest Adobe Audition from CC, connected input and output to Focusrite Solo Mk 4 in device settings, ASIO etc, all fine, but in waveform after starting a new file, the green level bar shows input but there is no waveform displayed. After "recording" the waveform is a straight line. However in Multitrack by arming the track by clicking R etc it works fine, recording a waveform, that on double clicking opens in Waveform view. But I can't record in waveform view at all. Any ideas please? It would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Hey all,I've pulled out all of my hair so now I'm here. Thanks in advance. I've had this issue with Audition where my YetiX causes major drops in audio when recording. Playback just a single audio track through the mic and it sounds like lag. I've also tried this mic in Audacity, for the record. I am able to get clean playback in audacity with this mic, however, recording sounds like static and dropped clips. In Audition, playback is so bad that when you try to record in a new track, playback becomes even more unbearable and trying to record vocals over a choppy beat is impossible. If I disconnect the mic, playback and recording is fine through laptop internal speakers and mic (puke) here's what I've tried:adjusting buffer ratesadjusting from 48k to 41kensuring all other apps are closed and not pulling mic accessupdating firmware on YetiUpdating OSupratint audition no luck. Please save my soul. I just want to make music with my friends for the love
As the title says, I can't save my edits using the save button. Every time I go back, the audio stays as the way before my last save. What happened!
Good day all. I want to echo certain parts of the tracks I recorded (not every sentence/word, only certain words/sentences). Please help
I know the General Preferences for Mouse Wheel Zoom have the the word “Ctrl” burned into the option text (zoom at mouse, zoom at playhead..), but wondered if there’s a hack out there or even a keyboard shortcut setting I’ve overlooked that allows me to use ALT instead of Ctrl to zoom with the mouse on Windows? Every other program I use, (which includes some from Adobe) use ALT as the modifier for zooming and I swear that every. single. time. I use Audition this is a muscle memory pain point, with heavy emphasis on ‘pain.’ I’m sure it doesn’t bother audio designers/engineers who use Audition as their primary app every single day because they’re used to it, but it drives me nuts. Suggestions? Thanks, Chep
Is Audition compatible with a Behringer X-Touch Compact?
So, if I make a metadata mark while recording a mix sessions (such as a podcast), is there a way to preserve that metadata tag when manipulating the tracks in the mix session?
