Audition

HI, When I conduct feild recordings, using my Sony recorder, I set the internal clock and time of day. Is there any way to display the time of day of that file while playing back in Audition? Thus allowing me to navigate/ jump to a precise time in the wave file. For example, I start the recording at 12:50pm and record for 2 hours and then I want to jump to 1:22pm - rather than having to caluclate it using the duration of the file? 

This is profiled in an article by Ryan Morrison Feb 29, 2024 in tom's guide (online) which is a new generative artificial intelligence tool from Adobe. I would like to know more about it and how to access it. Cheers!

Hi, I'm using Audition 1.5. In edit view I'm trying to hit play but a window comes up that says a device ID has been used that is out of range for your system. An error was generated by your sound card. It may not be properly configured - reinstall your sound card driver, check the sound card documentation and, if necessary, contact the sound card manufacturer to help you resolve this hardware error.I already reinstalled the driver, any ideas?

Hi, Version: 24.2.0.83Platform: Mac Sonoma 14.3 Steps:1. Launch Audition2. Open/Create a multitrack file3. Add or record audio4. Play the audio (everything should work)5. Switch to a Chrome browser window (I think other apps will cause it as well)6. Switch back to Audition7. Attempt to play audio or record audio ACTUAL:Audition will not play or record audio EXPECTED:Audition will function the same way it did before switching applications/windows If I close and re-open the multitrack session, the sound plays fine and recording works fine. I just have to close and re-open my project every single time I switch windows. PLEASE HELP!

Hi experts!Trying to set up a multitrack session template for a studio podcast recording with four mics.- ...who are connected to mac through a Yamaha DM3 mixer. Assigned mic 1 to input track 1, mic 2 to track 2 etc.  - Exported "Session as Template"---- Next day: Creates a new multitrack session with this template (Made sure mixer already was connected and chosen as hardware input in Audition.)- Every track has the correct names and effects - but all track inputs say "None", even if the tracks can "see" the right inputs (attached screenshot) So I have to reassign each track input manually again.Which is a problem, especially since this template is made to make recording as quick and easy as possible for several other persons without the skills or time to deal with configuration.  Any advices?

Hi everyone, I have created an audio description file (WAV) for a video, and this WAV file will be used for TV Broadcasting in the UK, so it must have a control track. I found out that there is Emotions Systems and Starfish Technologies are two software that can do such audio engineering, so my question is: does Adobe Audition have this feature (i.e. add control track)? These are the TV Broadcaster's guidelines: The audio channel layout on The Library is as follows:2 Streams - 2 channels per track, or 4 mono channels.Channel 1 - Stereo LChannel 2 - Stereo RChannel 3 - Audio Description/MuteChannel 4 - Control Track/Mute If Adobe Audion can't do this, is there any other Adobe software that can do that? Thanks in advance.

Audition has been crashing for months now, every time I enter the Mutlitrack player. Does anyone know why? Somehow I was able to create a file in the MTP just a few minutes ago, but then Audition crashed entirely. What is going on? It's been months. I have reached out to the company, but no one seems to have an answer. I'm using a fully updated Mac and the fully updated versio of Audition. Is anyone else expereincing this and if so, have you found a fix, or have you gotten information from Adobe?  Thanks everyone! 

For over 3 weeks I have been unable to edit a podcast in Adobe Audition because it freezes every few seconds (for 5-15 minutes).  It eventually comes back, I click 1-3 edit buttons, and it freezes again. I am on a deadline that it's now impossible to meet.  I am yet to find a solution that works from the Adobe Community experts but many users have posted possible actions to try.  One suggested I create a Memory Dump of Audition in it's frozen state and send that file to the experts. I have created a file of the MEMORY DUMP when Audition is in it's frozen state.  Where can I send it so Adobe experts can search for the issue I'm having with Audition freezing every few seconds? FYI for others with a similar problem:When you perform a memory dump of Audition in it's frozen state, a file will be created which can be loaded into a "debugger" so experts can read it and hopefully find the cause of the issue.To create a Memory Dump:1. Bug is happening with  Audition Verson 24.1I run Audition on a Windows 11 Laptop I'm trying to record audio through Adobe Audition and it is not working.I'm using a Samson QU2 for context, (Althought when I try other microphones including the internal mic I get the same problem)I have my Audition set up with my Input and output Device being my QU2. I've set to device class MME The clock is set to the microphone. While everything seems to be set up properly when I try to record Audio it will start the recording but it won't pick up anything from the microphone, however the recording won't stop until I hit stop recording but when I try to play back the audio all I get is a half second audio track. Any reason why this is happening?

Please help me. I just recorded a 36 minute long interview on Audition, and when I was getting help to save it to my Google Drive, only 21 minutes were saved. When I open audition, it still shows a 36 minute chunk but after 21 minutes it flatlines. I am hoping for a miracle here with the 36 minute chunk still showing up. TIA.

Before, when I selected a portion of the waveform and hit play, the playback would repeat that selection. This was nice because I can focus in on a sound as it repeats. Now in version 24 of Adobe Audition, that is turned off by default (hopefully not removed) so it will only play the selection once, and you have to hit play again and again. How do I turn this back on?

Hello, I found some information on how to debug the UI on Audion to make the fonts look bigger. I just got a new pair of glasses and the fonts on Audition are too hard to read. I have tried Alt  + F12, but My Asus laptop brings up another app. I don't know how to edit my audio now. Is there an alternative key to press?

Hi everyone,I started to get a constant notification at Adobe Aution 2023 that the Audition - Rodecaster Pro 2 Asio (Not working) (enclosed screen capture).I have to restart the Rodecaster Pro 2 (RCP2) and, eventually to Audition to get it to work again.I also download the Asio4All drives, but since I don't see it recommended by RODE, I don't know if I should try this.Suggestion on how to solve, will be highly appreciated.

I used adobe audition for about 2 years , i have never encountered these problems before. I have setted all audio hardware correctly, but suddenly it just can't record the audio and even i can record audio, it is stuttered and shortened which has showed in the video.😞

Whenever I try to use the Adobe enhance speech website it takes a lot longer than normal to load, then when I upload clips they get stuck at "enhancing speech" or "queing" indefinetly, I had 1 clip that managed to finally work but when I try and download it it gives me like 20 error messages.

Hi When I opened Audition today, I cannot play anything in the multitrack timeline. I hit spacebar and the red line thing doesn't move. If I click the play button with my curser it doesn't play either. But if I click on WAVEFORM everything works fine. I have restart app and restarted computer. I have gone into hardward and changed things (then changed them back when nothing happened) One thing to note when I press play (or space bar) all of the "default stereo input" "mix" "read" choices all get greyed out on all the tracks.  Also as a test I tried to record on several differnet tracks and it does the same thing. The timeline curser doesn't move and nothing records.  I am on a mac running sonoma 14.2.1 and audition is 24.2.0.83.  I do NOT have an audio interface hooked up. A square / rectangular shaped audio glitch appeared while we were recording a book.  (See pic).  When we heard it back, it sounded like digital distortion.  I would love to understand what caused this and what I could do to prevent this from happening in the future.  We are using a MOTU and a RODE mic.  Thank you!  

     Audition will only actually record about every tenth time I push "record" using my internal mic, and never when I'm using my USB mic. any suggestions?

I am very new to audition and have played around a little bit. But one thing I realized is that I didn't know how to listen to the track I had previously recorded while recording the new track. Is it possible (and if so, how?) to set audition up so that I can hear what was just recorded on the time line while recording new audio?I want to record multiple guitar tracks and have them overlay, but without having direct playback to listen while playing the second part, I have no way to time them together without converting the first track to an mp3 file and playing it back from a separate device while playing the second part. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm fully aware that Audition lacks any sort of Midi Sequencing functionality, but I'm looking for something a bit more mundane (and i'm sure @SteveG_AudioMasters_ will be able to answer this).I have a Roland MC-707 that i'm looking to Multitrack Record directly into Audition.  It acts as a Midi Device as well as an interface, and will do 20 tracks of audio over USB.  I'm sequencing/performing completely separate from Audition, but would like to be able to edit my recordings in Audition (to send OMFs to a ProTools mixer).With other DAWs, i'm able to set my hardware sequencer as the Clock Source, and trigger that way. . . but I'm wondering if it's possible to map ANY midi controller for Transport Functions in Adobe Audition.  From there, I could map the Start/Stop button on the sequencer as Start/Stop in Audition, and the midi command from that button to trigger.TL;DR - Anyone have any success with mapping Non-Faderport Midi Control Surfaces to Adobe Auditi

New to Audition. I'm doing lots of cuts to an interview. I was taught that "it's easier to do your volume changes in the Read-Show Envelopes-Volume at the bottom of the track instead of trying to match up the volume lines in a series of small clips (where umms, ahhhs, pauses have been removed).Except, my editor listened to the mix and said "this is great, but let's lose this line, this line and this line" which occurred earlier in the interview. So now everything to the right of those lines needs to be shifted left. But when I ripple everything to the left, the volume changes/keyframes I made in that "read/automated" area (whatever it's officially called) DON'T MOVE WITH THE CLIPS!So is there a setting where, if you're using ripple, those volume or pan (or the other options) changes that've been made in that "Read" area will be rippled as well? Or is my only option to use this feature as the ABSOLUTE LAST THING in my workflow? Thanks in advance for the help.
