Audition

After exporting some files in a 5.1 mixing into an Mp3 stereo file, in Adobe Audition 24.0.3.3, the mixdown file's amplitude reduces by about 7 or 9 db! 

How do you record a conversation between two people when one person is doing both of the voicesI want to make a recording of two separate characters talking to each other. I am doing the voices for both characters. Should I do create a multi-track file for each character, record that character's lines separately and then somehow mix them together? How would I do this? Do you have two separate tracks and somehow put pauses/space between spoken lines and the other character's track would somehow line up time-wise so there is a conversation without the voices overlapping each other? Or should I somehow cut and paste lines from two separate tracks into one final "master" track together? I'm an absolute beginner at this and am having a hard time finding any really comprehensive tutorials, other than a smattering of videos on Youtube. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello, I'm using a MacBook Pro with Windows 10. I'm using a condenser microphone, and Adobe Audition detects the mic when connected via USB to a sound card, which is then connected to the Mac. However, after recording, there's persistent snoring in my voice, even after applying adaptive noise reduction. I've attached a sample audio. Are there any plugins or solutions to clean this up? This would greatly help my Bible project, which I've halfway completed in Audition, but the audio doesn't sound good.

Here at the company where I work, we used the 2022 version of Adobe Audition and now we decided to update to the 2023 version. The problem is that the "RX 10 Connect" plugin no longer works with Audition. Before, with the 2022 version of Audition, the RX 10 Connect worked normally. Clicking on "Effects\VST3\Restoration\RX10 Connect" the plugin opens, but when I send the audio to the Izotope RX 10 the following error message appears: "The RX standalone application could not be launched at path C:\Program Files\izotope\RX 10 Audio Editor\win32\izotope RX 10 Audio Editor.exe. Please reinstall RX to ensure that the application exists. Error code: 2" I don't understand how Adobe Audition is looking for the 32 bit (x86) file from the RX, when the Izotope RX10 installed on the computer is 64 bit (x64). I think Audition should look for the 64 bit .exe file. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Izotope RX 10, but it didn't work. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adob

My Audition build is 24.0.0.46. I run Windows 10 Home N version 22H2, build 19045.3570.  Processor:  Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz RAM: 32 GB (26 GB available for Adobe apps.).  My system disk is a 1TB SSD (i.e. 893 GB, 545 GB free).  I use Audition for digitalizing vinyl records from a Numark USB turntable into waveform audio files.  (USB Audio CODEC driver version 10.0.19041.1 date: 06.12.2019).  My issue is as follows:  From time to time the recordings are distorted for fractions of a second followed by a somewhat longer fraction of silence (like a "dropout" for as long as 0.3 seconds but usually much shorter), then a very short fration of distortion before everything runs fine again.  These glitches occur perhaps 10 times during a 40 minute recording but there is no regularity as to when the error may occur. It can happen every few seconds or several minutes can pass between each occurrence.Anyone got a clue?&nbs

I have 3 audio recordings I am trying to combine for a podcast but I can't seem to figure out to use the razor tool (it doesn't allow me to select it sometimes) because I have to cut certain sections of one audio and then it doesn't line up so I can trying to time everything correctly by breaking up each recording into smaller ones.

Hi.I've been trying to open a .sesx file but Audition crashes and generates a dump file (dmp), which I can't open (I'm on Macos). Any ideas? Is there any way to try to repair this file?Thank you!

For people familiar with AUPHONIC.When I was still using Audacity for my audio recording and editing, I was also using Auphonic service for the final mastering, given the limitations of Audacity.Since I moved my audio production to Adobe Audition, I no longer need to use Auphonic as Audition gives me the same key mastering features I need - noise reduction, loudness normalisation, hi pass filtering and some EQ. Hi,I am planning to edit 5.1 surround mixing for a short film in Audition.I have a little doubt regarding the volume level.In the volume level , upto -12 is green / between -12 to-3 is yellow and betwenn -3 to 0 is red.What are the better volume level i have to maintain in the 5.1 mixing for each channels?Front left ? Front right ?Rear left ?Rear right ?Centre ?Subwoofer ?     

I have been using AI Enhamcement for my voice recordings and it's amazing.   Filters out all my background noises - a fan, the computer  humming,   other noises and leaves me with a pure voice.    Like it was advertised.    But i have two questions:  [A]     the output has a percentage, and I can use the slider to change.       But what it is a slidler OF exactly?   It is labelled  "90% Strength" as default,  but strength - of what?      Does it have more or less enhancement?   More or less of the extraneous noises are removed?   Is it the loudness of the resulting file?  Something else?   [B]  If i send it the voice channel from my multi-channel recording,   the resulting enhanced recording has elements of the music that i thought had been elliminated by the multi-channel recording.   My recording is be

I have an X32 console which I wish to connect to Audition for multitrack recording as well as hopefully being able to playback songs from Spotify, YouTube or just my PC in general. My X32 has the old firewire card still in it but I'm guessing the steps are still the same.I'd really appreciate a simple explanation on how to achieve this as I'm on vacation in a sense and don't have access to a physical mixer for me to figure things out on myself.So just to clarify: I wish to be able to record a concert for example where each channel is its own track in Audition, as well as play songs from my computer directly into the X32 and then route it wherever I need. I have the X32 edit program installed as well as the X-USB driver, although I'm not sure if the X-UF USB driver, which is for Firewire also which is the type of card I have, would work better.Thanks.

I'm new to Premiere and Audition and loving it although I'm stuck. I'm making a short film with narration. I shot the movie and the voice over was recorded on a separate voice recorder which is mono. I used Audition to extract the sound clips I needed to use in Premiere. I now notice that the sound has two tracks, L & R, but the sound is only on the Left and the Right is 'empty' How do I copy the left channel into the right, so it's the same sound in both?

I attached a video of the issue I'm having... I just purchased the Tube-Tech Cl1B MKII & Classic Channel Plugins. I can't hear any audio when I select the plugins from the VST3 folder but when I select from VST folder I hear audio. The VST3 plugins shows and loads up, just can't hear any audio.

The timer when I start recording a voice recording doesn't work like its supposed to instead of being like a normal timer that starts at 00:00:000 and goes up as I start recording it just stays frozen and slowly moves up or it dosnent move up at all. how can I fix this?

Okay, so 2 questions. I'm pretty new to the whole audio editing life so I'm not to sure how to fix somethings. When I upload some audio it doesn't show as a single track. It comes up as two with a L on one and a R on the other. I'm assuming that is for Left and Right. When editing it makes it kind of difficult because the audio doesn't always match up. Is there a way to make it just a single track for editing purposes or is that is how it is? Second question, when I'm editing and putting plug-ins into my audio only the L track is being affected but the R stays untouched for some reason. How do I fix that so both the L and the R audio adjust to the plug-in? 

I've been using Audition for nearly a year without fail for my intro to voiceover work, mainly recording and teaching myslef how to edit and set up. About 4 or 5 months ago, due to an addition to our family, I had to take down my booth and stop. I got everything back up and running about 30 days (or so) ago, recorded acouple of time without any issues, haven't had much booth time. Now all of a sudden, yesterday, I go in to the booth and my recordings are bork. I can get a good 5ish seconds of recording but the the app just spazzes out, picks up a half second here and there of audio. Hi. I'm working on a podcast and I have doubts about when to apply Match Loudness. Considering that volume levels on the multitrack session are consistent, should I apply it to each track individually or leave to the end an apply it to the mix on the whole? Thanx!

I got a new plug in today and am trying to get it to install, but anytime I bring up the plug in manager and ask it to scan, it just sits and does nothing.  I can't cancel out of it and have to force quit the program - Does anyone have ideas?Most updated AuditionWindows 11

I've got an HP laptop with a 11th gen i7 2.8gHz processor, 32 GB RAM, running Windows 10 and Audition 2022. I'm noticing that when I have a large number of tracks (music) or a very long project with a lot of automation (lectures)  I start to have issues where it takes awhile to do any singular action like moving the cursor, or setting new keyframe points for volume automation.  I pre-render tracks which helps, but on projects pushing over an hour, or over 10 tracks (which includes bus tracks)  it takes awhile for the processing to catch up.  Is there anything else I can do to make the program run more smoothly?  The actual processing load on my CPU isn't that high. I'm creating projects at 48kHz and 32-bit float, which I know creates a larger file.

Hello community, I am new to using Audition.I am trying to apply voice-over to a video that I am creating.The theme of the video is Lord of the Rings and therefore, I want to record an audio in the voice of the opening narration by Kate Blanchett in the Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring). I have taken a sample of Blanchett's voice from the movie and I have written down my narrative as well.What would be the best approach to achieve this? 

Hallo, ich habe leider ein fiepen in meiner Sprach-Audiospur und versuche dieses zu entfernen in der Spektralfrequenzanzeige, indem ich die jeweiligen Frequenzen rauslösche. Wenn ich das mache, erhalte ich im Austausch aber ein Quietschen wie von alten rostigen Türen. Das liegt glaube ich daran, dass die zwar die Fiepspur an sich weg ist, aber den Rändern dafür Auswüchse dazu kommen (siehe Foto)oder es liegt an den besonders gelben Stellen? (siehe zweites Foto)? Ich finde dazu leider keine Erklärung. Lohnt es sich noch weiter daran rum zu basten oder sollte ich einfach vor und nach den Sprachteilen die Lautstärke runterregeln? Vielen Dank, Luise

Hi guys,   Quick note: I copied and pasted this post and made a few tweaks for my own set-up as the OP hit every single point I was going to write.   I run a Dell XPS 15 (2018) 1TB SSD 32 GB RAM 64-bit Windows 10 operating system and a Nvidia GTX 1050i that offloads 8g of RAM if need be, and I'm having trouble recording my podcast. I usually have my laptop connected to a Kensington sd5300dt dock via USB-C and the dock also has a 4K monitor connected to it via HDMI.   In terms of audition, I record in multitrack mode, and I'm usually recording myself and 2 other hosts on my Presonus Audiobox 1818 VSL. What I usually do is I open the audio hardware, change the drive to ASIO and then find the Presonus for the output and input. Then I arm each track onto a Mono track Line 1, 2 and 3.   I put my computer in airplane mode last time to see if it would make any difference, and it didn't... it still stopped recording a few times during a one hour conversation.   It has
