I have a syncing problem - audio and wave file are not matching up. The precision of what I'm seeing and what I'm hearing is off by a very tiny margin. But enought to mess with my editing accuracy. If I place my cursor tightly in front of the word "Our" for instance, the word gets cut a bit rather that giving me a clean sound at the beginning of that word. This is a new problem after using AA for many many years. I have rebooted the computer, I have used AA 1.5 as an alternative, rebooting the software, and finding no change. I have tried to edit several different files, with the same result. Any help would certainly be appreciated. Thanks very much!
I created a new session today using a template that I have used many times before. When I go to export the mixdown, it starts exporting, and then the time remaining just keeps jumping up and it never exports. I tried a fresh session with no effects. I updated Audition. Tried exporting as .wav instead of .mp3. Opened an old session that I have exported in the past. Same thing happens every time. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I'm on an M1 mac running Sonoma 14.0. Macos update is new and that's the only thing I can think of that has changed.
This is latest version of Audtion. WAVEFORM starts then audio starts about 1/2 second later. Driving me crazy. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. - Mike
Good morning,I think it would be very useful if there was the possibility to speed up or slow down the playback speed of a track (live), easily with a small button for example. This can help, for example, when editing podcasts, conferences or voice recordings and looking for a specific phrase, or if you want to listen again and modify without wasting too much time.Using the J K L keys the recording is much too fast and impossible to understand what the person is saying. This possibility even exists in the Audacity software (which is nevertheless very simplistic).THANKS!
I recently updated my system software to MacOS 14 Sonoma. Prior to updating I was running Adobe Audition 23.6.1.3 without any problems. I had set up a number of tweaks to Audition and then saved a backup of the 23.0 folder (as instructed elsewhere) for backup purposes. When I found out that all of my tweaks were gone, I tried to go into my backup 23.0 folder and reinsert those updates but I could not figure out how to use the application.xml file I found there. I have also heard elsewhere that there are a range of other files that should be used.Any help on fixing all of this would be greatly appreciated.
I'm listening to my recording in multitrack mode. The recording was done in stereo. Periodically, the audio will sound like it's mostly coming from one side or the other, or it will sound suddenly a bit louder. If I back up the playhead a few seconds and listen again, sometimes it still sounds weird and sometimes it goes back to normal. If it still sounds weird, I can just go back a few seconds again and try it a couple times and eventually it sounds normal. It doesn't happen consistently in the same place, it's just sort of random throughout. I thought this was just an issue in the editor, but after exporting just now I find that the mp3 it outputs has the same issue. As additional information, I have 32GB of RAM and a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor. When I look at task manager, I'm not seeing an excessive use of RAM or CPU by Audition or anything else, but it still seems like the program is having trouble rendering.
Why is there no ACX plugin yet on Audition? ACX is THE standard for audiobooks and most other audio software including Audacity and Pro Tools include a plug-in to rapidly check mp3 files before uploading to ACX or you can go to ACX lab and have it checked free. Having it ON your editing platform is faster and more convenient.
Why does Audition default to saving as a .wav? I save as .mp3 for all my work and it's annoying that I have to select .mp3 every time
Adobe Audition is excellent, but one annoyance makes my job much longer. I'm a voiceover artist who does a lot of eLearning recording and the clients like the files to be split by file name - sometimes meaning I've got hundreds of files in the 'files' area of Audition. Please add the functionality to use the cursor keys to move through this list of files, updating the waveform view when the file is highlighted. At present, I have to double-click each file and as you can imagine going through a list of 100+ audio files by double-clicking each one is bloody annoying and time-consuming. Why do I need to go through each one? Well, I opened another thread for that. Please add this functionality to save my sanity.
I'm very new to adobe. I'm using audition to edit audio from a video clip. I have figured out how to use the lasso tool to select a part of the audio I want to fix, then I used auto heal. However the auto heal is not staying on the clip. If I save the audio, it's just the original audio when I play it back. I can't figure out how to make the auto healed selection stay as part of the final product. I've watched videos where people use the auto heal tool and I'm not doing anything different as far as I can tell. My selection will also disappear if I click outside of the shape I lasso-ed, even though I already applied auto heal to it.
Hi, I've been recording podcasts for over a decade and when I started it was simple to edit as I used a Roland field recorder where the only talent speaking was me, and doing so on loction where background noise was desirable. Now I record a podcast with my partner in a 'studio' (background noise not desirable), which we video as well. Audio is recorded via two lavs on two Tascam DR10L units. I sync these two channels to the camera's audio, and then go through the painstaking task of manually ducking each track. This means cutting track one when track two is speaking, and vice versa. It works well but an hour-long podcast takes literally hours to edit this way. I've not done any auto-ducking on speech before and I am not sure if there is a feature in Premiere Pro or Audition that could assist me. Bear in mind the mics are picking each others' voices up, so I'm not sure an auto tool could differentiate between the talents, but before I go any further, is there a feature w
When I select the scrolldown menu to select "add sidechain," the option is no longer there. It used to be there, but now you can only add a bus. Did I do something wrong?
I can't for the life of me figure this out. I've tried Googling, and I've read the documentation but can't find out how to do this. In Audition, when you click the Back or 'Move Playhead to Previous' button, it jumps back but stops at every single cut along the way. Is there a button to jump the playhead to the start of a session? In Ableton Live, you do this by double clicking the STOP button.
For some reason, the toggle to make low and high shelves to make the curve softer/more prominent in the Audition Parametric EQ isn't working. Clicking in the curve button doesn't do anything, and it's stuck in the curve form from the last preset loaded. Is it a known issue or something wrong with my installation? It's been working fine until some days ago that I tried it. I have a couple of third party EQs but I'm really used to and really like the Audition stock one. Thanks!
In the current version of Adobe Audition for macOS is there a function to allow record start when the audio signal reaches a certain threshold so I can record right from the beginning when playing instruments? For instance could I set an audio threshold to -25 dB's and then play at around -15 dB's to start the recording? It's a very useful feature for sound editors.
Hello,I am having a baffling issue where Adobe Audition is playing certain file's incredibly quietly (despite levels showing as peaking). This is an issue based in a classroom where our students are all using the same file. There are only 2 computers out of the whole class who are struggling with this. I have tried changing headphones, adjusting the audio hardware preferences, and, comparing to another clip which seems to work okay. If I amplify the audio it becomes a horrible mess of static and hissing. The system sounds for the computer are loud and work fine. Unsure what to do about this, as it doesn't seem to be a problem with the file (standard .WAV). The file works fine on all the other computers without any need for adjustments (amplify, sample rate etc.).If anyone has any idea it would be greatly appreciated as it has left myself and the tutor stumped. Thank you 🙂
Im working on a translating voice over project. the video reference with the audio track im translating freezes and goes black, audio keeps playing but nothing shows on video panel. i need to see the video to make sure i am doing the voice over properly. any ideas as to why it happens?it will start playing good and about half way through it stops. i listen to the audio only to do voice over but at times it wont match the video. for example they pointed to the camara to talk to audience i didnt know and it was way out of sync.
I need your help choosing a new Windows laptop! I need this laptop mainly for editing sound in Adobe Audition. Based on a 2023 Review by ProRec.com https://prorec.com/best-laptop-for-audacity-adobe-audition/#lg-gram-17-benefits, the second-best Laptop for Audacity & Adobe Audition is LG Gram 17. In April I bought a brand-new LG Gram 17. Very nice and light laptop, very fast, with good battery time. Had only one problem: when editing in Audition, there was a delay between the sound and the mouse cursor, making editing difficult if not impossible.LG tried to fix the issue in their lab 3 times, but to no avail. More than a half year passed and I’m back to square one. I need a new laptop since the old one is getting really slow. I don’t want to go through the same torture again. Can you please recommend a laptop that is similar in performance with LG Gram 17 and that you are using and know for sure it will be compatible with the latest versions of Acrobat Audition? Tha
Implement ADR tools like Nuendo or the new version 15 of Resolve. Come on Adobe, you must become the industry standard in Audio post.
Hello,As I hover over any of the panels they either go black or reappear at random. The worst is when I'm saving and naming because I can't read the text line while typing. I'm working through it, but it is pretty annoying considering It wasn't doing this before I updated to 11.1.0.184.Does anyone know what could be causing this or if Adobe is planning on a fix?
Using Audition, my goal is to make a "CD" like file...one way too large to put on a normal CD, but rather to save it to a USB memory device. I've got over 40 3-6 minute tracks by title. Would like to be able to slide the device into a USB slot, hit play and have the device play 40+ songs in sequence without having to hit "play" for each track. Can this be done?
My friend and I have recently started a podcast, and we have been talking using Discord, recording the audio with OBS so as to get a separate audio track for each of us, and editing the episodes with Audition. This can be rather irritating, as I would prefer to use one application for both recording and editing. My microphone uses an audio cable connected to a USB adapter, as I have no microphone port on my laptop. Using Audition, however, I cannot record in multitrack using the stereo mix from my computer as the input for one track and my USB contraption as the input for another track, however, as whenever I set the default input device to one of those in the Audio Hardware settings, the other one disappears from the list of available input devices in the multitrack editor. Is there a workaround to this issue or is it simply not something that is possible to do?
I accidentally deleted an item in the Favorites dropdown menu. How do I restore it to the default list?
Hello and good day! I am having issues with my audio. It was working fine the night prior, but in the morning as I went to do more recording, it had all this static. I tried getting a new XLR cord, and that didn't work. I tried a new mic, that didn't work. I tried downloading new drivers and that also didn't work. I updated adobe audition and still no dice. The only thing I haven't tried is getting a new audio interface because I though I should reach out before making more blind purchases. I will attach a screen shot of before and after. both are taken in the same room with the same sound proofing and are raw. The mic I am using is an AT2035 audio interface is a Behringer u-phoria UM2 If anyone can help me out, it would be very grateful! Thanks
I am trying to do a simple, mono recording that I've done dozens of times, but for some reason Adobe won't record. When I click the record button, the playhead moves but nothing records (no waveform). My Sample Rate is 48000, Channels: Mono, Bit Depth: 16. I checked my audio hardware settings, and the input and ouptut devices are as they should be. The microphone (Yeti Blue) is lit up, so I know it is connected. Gain is turned up. Mute button is not on. My computer's privacy settings aren't preventing Audition from accessing the microphone, and the microphone array settings are normal. The Audition version I am running is Build 22.1.1.23. Any other ideas I can try?
