Not sure if this is a bug. I may just need some help.Steps to reproduce:    1. Create a Shape layer. right click > Transform > center anchor point in Layer Content. Result: When You try to center the anchor point to the shape layer or use the hotkeys. It doesn't center the anchor point.Expected: It should center the anchor point... Unless in the new 23.4 update this has fundamentally changed, this is really annoying that it doesn't work like previous versions. System info    Application: After Effects v23.4.0.53    OS: macOS v13.2.1, RAM: 64.00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 10

Hello, I have been using After Effects 2020 without any problems but recently everytime I open AE and work on my project for a while, It crashes without any warning, I tried reinstalling and it continued, Im not sure why this is happening, It has only just recently started and Ive been using Ae on my current computer for about a year without any issues only a few minor ones. Id prefer to continue using Ae 2020 and not switch versions due to the fact I plugin I have will not be compatible on a newer version of AeWhen I am using After effects when it doesnt crash I usually have about 5-6GB of memory available out of my systems full 16GB, and the CPU load is usually around 19% at 54-56 degrees Celsius, Ive noticed that whatever I am doing in AE my computer seems to always be doing that loud fan noise like its working hard, I dont remember it doing that before for doing simple things in AE. I put a picture of the most recent crash report and my computer specs, a few things I noticed i

My rotobrush is selecting the whole composition instead of the area I painted. What could be happening? I tried to even reinstall the app,

When I make changes to a timeline and try to generate a RAM preview, for about 80% of the time AE will throw me that error. I have to hit OK, wait a couple of seconds, then try again for it to actually render the timeline. Sometimes it won't even throw the error, but instead will just render 2 or 3 frames, stop, then start looping the playback on those frames. I have to stop it, wait, then try again. Sometimes it will even do that multiple times before I can actually render the timeline properly. It does this on simple and complex scenes alike, and I've been experiencing this all day at work for the last couple of versions. I have 96gb of 3600mhz DDR4 RAM allocated exclusively to AE, running on Win10. I have a gen3 SSD dedicated exclusively to cached media, with plenty of headroom. The program is most certainly not starving for memory, or struggling to write those files. Since updating our machines to after effects 23 we find that when using mercury transmit via an aja kona 4 to an external viewing monitor that the external video feed is laggy and stuttering . HD content is not laggy but does occasionaly stutter . AE 21 behaves fine in either resolution Similar issues using blackmagic dnxiq Have tried latest version 23.4 already and same results  PC spec HP Z8 G4 Workstation2x Intel Xeon 5118 2.3 2400MHz 12C96GB RAM1x HP Z Turbo Drive M.2 1TB SSD1x 1TB SATA Solid State DriveNVIDIA Quadro P4000 8GBATTO FastFrame NS12 10GbAJA Kona Changing preview render quality makes no difference neither does caching prior to playing  Plenty of memory assigned to program and more than enough space on C drive  Anyone else have any issues with external monitoring ?  Cheers Tom 

Hey everyone, so I've been having this problem recently. Whenever I try to add an effect to any clip whether it is adding them individually or with an adjustment layer. My After Effects stops responding. Does anyone have a solution for this? 

Hello,The last version of after effects (23.4.0) doesn't update changes to my original Illustrator file. I've imported it as Composition - Retain Layers Sizes, using ctrl+e (edit original) as usual. In Illustrator I tried making a color change and changing a shape, then saved and closed it. When returned to After Effects, the changes have not been updated. I purged, reloaded footage, and even closed after effects and opened it again. Nothing worked. I opened the original file again with ctrl+e and the change I made was undone. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm on Windows 11, using the latest version of Illustrator (27.5). Haven't tried this with Photoshop files yet. 

Whenever there is a version update of After Effects, and I get the popup when starting the app to migrate previous settings, I do that - but my shortcuts are never migrated.This has been the case for many AE versions now, and it never got fixed. There is no way this is supposed to be correct behavior. The problem, as I understand it, is that AE creates a new aeks folder under their version folder at this directory: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After EffectsAnd that new aeks folder fails to copy the folder from the previous aeks folder that was migrated from. That seems like such a mundane and easy thing to do when creating this new folder structure, I'm not sure why it isn't already happening.The process now is to go there manually and copy pasting the old shortcut file into the new one. But some people might not realize this is happening, or they forget, or those that haven't saved their custom shortcuts, but just changed the default file, will be confused why their shortc

This is a very odd problem. My project has audio that is working, but when I add a new mp3, no sound comes out. The waveform is not even present in the timeline. It's like a shell of a file. There is nothing wrong with the mp3, it plays back fine in Premiere. I tried changing it to a wav to test but it plays back in super slo-mo. I've tried restarting many times as well as updating to the most current version. I'm at loss and have a project due soon. Any help would be appreciated. 

I am using After Effects 23.2.1 (Build 3) on macOS 12.6.3 and when I click into the expression input field to edit the expression, further mouse click selections while editing the expression seem to be offset visually where I'd expect the click to land. I think this has to do with the bracket cursor icon being registered incorrectly, but it causes me to accidentally select out of the expression editor field (in effect committing the change). I have attached a screen recording of the issue I am describing. Sometimes I can get it to work, but other times it seems like the bracket cursor gets offset in a way that has me accidentally clicking outside of the edit area. I do not experience this bracket cursor icon issue in other apps.

I update after effects recently and now I cannot render a h.264 file, in the final file the size is 24 bytes not carry the large of the video or complexity of the animation, is always the same, and when I try reproduce the video, it's says the file is corrupted, I not see any similar problem in the web, this appears something new error. Someone know about this?

Please Help!Our team ( on different machines) can no longer collect files from AE! If there is a .cd4 file in the project the spinning rainbow wheel appears before the collected modal menu and just spins forever. AE 23.2.1OSX Monterey

Hello, I have a problem with after effects regarding audio. Simply put there is no sound, no music no audio from imported clips nothing. I have audio set to my headphones in ae and windows, ae is not muted in windows settings and all audio boxes are checked, yet there is still no sound. I also tired restarting pc and unistalling ae and changing the sound output, but so far nothing worked. Am I missing something? Can anyone please help me sort this out.

I tend to work a lot with both Premiere and Adobe After effects, and the nature of the projects I am doing requires me to use AE projects inside Premiere a lot. Everything works like a charm until AE crushes for whatever reason. After this when I reopen AE every time I save the AE project and go back to Premiere the dynamic link between AE and Premiere appears to be broken and I need to relink the AE source file. The problem persists no matter what I do, restarts, reboots, and even reinstalling all Adobe software don't help.  Quick search in the google shows that the issue is quite common, but I haven't been able to find a solution. Has anyone had a luck with this one? It is extremely irritation and slows down my work dramatically. I am running the latest AE and Premiere on my Macbook Pro with OS Monterey if it matters.

I use AE version 23.4.0 but when I launch it it says that NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 Ti with Max-Q Design is usupported.  I have the latest Dell, NVIDIA and Intel versions.I have added a System Compatibility Report. Could you please guide me how to solve this problem. 

When applying the Shadow/Highlight effect to a video layer, then setting the "Effect Opacity" to "0", the video layer will freeze; a still-frame of the video is shown, but the video will not play in the timeline. This has been a bug in AFX for years. Just tried in AFX2023 and still exists. Windows 10, 64bitAFX 2023 and older 

This little bug has been around for a few versions now. I navigate around projects quite a lot using the drop-down menu at the top of the project window, where it tells you where the selected footage is used. If you click on the triangle next to 'used X times' it gives you a drop-down list of the comps and layers, that it's used in, and if you click on a certain list-entry, it takes you there. Only that functionality doesn't work. The list entries are greyed-out. If I switch to the finder using Cmd-Tab and then back to After Effects, the list-entries are selectable. In v23.4 it seems that the issue is then cleared up for all footage, but that hasn't been my experience over the last several months. It seems that I'm constantly switching over to the Finder to get those lists working. (I've also only been using 23.4 for a day or so, so no live-project experience as yet). AE 23.4.0 Build 53Mac OS Monterey 12.6.5Chip M1 Ultra

I would consider this a bug not a feature request, unless I'm missing some sort of workflow I just don't use. I use the Alt+Shift+(T,S,R,P) shortcuts extensively, fast and furious when animating a layer. However, sometimes, a layer will become unselected while working and when I apply the shortcut it will add a keyframe for every layer in the composition (which as we all know can be a hundred+). This causes me to have to Undo the mess and close all the layers which will then close all the layers I was working with effectively reseting my workflow. Why is that the default behavior? If I wanted to do that I would select every layer and then apply the shortcut. I would propose that if no layer is selected, the add property keyframe function should just do nothing. Having that function add a keyframe to every layer when no layer is selected is just unintuitive.

Tracker is not working in after effects. Its frustrating. After clicking on analysing one frame forward the player is not moving forward. Its not tracking. Can anyone please help me on this? AfterEffects: 23.4Platform : Windows 10 OS Version: 21H2

AE 23.3.0Mac Mini M2 Pro 32GB running Ventura 13.3.1Running AE on a M2 Mac Mini with 32GB RAM. Warp stabilizer will freeze without crashing. Force quitting and reopening AE, removing and readding the Warp stabilizer will usually fix the problem and allow the anlysis phase to finish. log attached except .tmp logs not excepted?

BugmacOS Monterey 12.6.4M1 Mac StudioAE Version 23.3.0 Just updated a new AE version. Roto Brush has been working fine until now. I read new OS Ventura has problems, but now Roto Brush tool crashes After Effects in Monterey as well. Dragging the selection cursor over the image crashes the app almost immediately.You may be able to build a matte using short strokes and proceeding in very small increments, but the moment you try to preview the timeline After Effects crashes. Selecting Roto Brush version or quality does not help.Happens with every source format and codec, both internal and external SSDs.Precomping does not help.8 or 32 -bit, with or without Color Management.Turning Metal GPU acceleration on or off has no effect either. Please fix asap!  

This has been around a few years now.(Should I assume AE devs never use long comp names?)(Or never move or expand the render queue)I currently have a 34 max character count for comp names displayed in the render queueWhich is annoying if the differntiator is at the end, eg ### _v1, ###_v2!expanding the compname column does not show the rest of the filename
