I read about the HUD Color Picker in a description of what's new in CS5, so decided to try it. The HUD did not display with Shift-Alt-right click in any of the tools it's associated with. OpenGL is enabled, all the OpenGL functions I've tried like dynamic zoom work as described. The image of the brush being use is inset in the window when the Mixing Brush is selected. But no HUD. Pretty much by accident, I discovered that after an Alt-right click drag to change size or hardness of the brush, the HUD begins to work. (You have to do this in Brush, not Mixing Brush.) And continues to work on any image opened before closing Photoshop. Broken again after restarting the program. Classified now mainly as an annoyance now that I've discovered a work-around, but I don't think this is operating as designed... CS5- when trying to change a color in an index file- when you click on the color is the palette box, it gives you the color picker- BUT it does not allow you to change the color by grabbing a color with your eyedropper from another file or even pasting a hex code in the box. I have to select a color manual from the picker- then trick it to excepting a new color. This feature worked in CS4. I am on a MAc OS 10.6.8- Pro Tower- 10 GIG ram- 1.5 TB scratch disk.
Program: Photoshop CS5 Problem: identification of second component brush tip in a brush that has a Dual Brush feature. In CS5, highlighting "Dual Brush" in the Brushes Panel does NOT show which brush tip is the second component brush. In other words, you cannot check what the second brush tip is in any brush that uses the Dual Brush feature. When you highlight the Dual Brush setting in the Brushes Panel an icon for a brush on the right should be highlighted with a black border indicating that it is the second (or "dual) brush tip. This applies to existing brush presets and to ones you have just created. Strangely, this is NOT a problem in CS4 which seems to function perfectly in this respect. Please fix this.
The "Indents and Spacing" option in "Paragraph Styles" in photoshop doesn't work properly. It doesn't do anything. However you can force it to work if you change the Indents and Spacing FIRST, then change something else after (for example the font size). Even if you choose the exact same font size this forces it to work. I have double checked overrides / character styles and the problem is the some on my colleagues computer. We're both using the latest version of CC.
Adobe Photoshop CC 2014.2.0 Release. I have a problem, I have just made a contact sheet with font size 10pt the problem is the font size on the rendered contact sheet is 2.88pt. Is this just me, can you have a look.
When you use the vanishing point filter and want to return the layer to a 3D layer, the textures are not exported correctly. Appear all white. Cuando usamos el filtro punto de fuga, si seleccionamos la opción de exportar la capa como objeto 3d, no aparecen las texturas en la versión de Photoshop CC 2014.
Hi. I have an extendscript script that (amongst other things) overlays some type over an image. The script dynamically sets the font-size - but i just upgraded to CC2014 and it's suddenly broken. var identity = "some text" var newLayerRef = docRef.artLayers.add(); newLayerRef.kind = LayerKind.TEXT; var textItemRef = newLayerRef.textItem textItemRef.contents = identity; app.preferences.typeUnits = TypeUnits.POINTS; var textSize = 100; // Set Text Size if (identity.length < 11) textSize = 200; textItemRef.size = textSize; That works in CC, but not in CC14. If I add: alert(textSize + " " + textItemRef.size); I get "100 6.4px". So I can read the size - but not set it for some reason. Bug?
This is a major failing in Photoshop version CS6 Hebrew Support. There is no way to reverse the text with, "Apply Middle Eastern Composer" as there was in CS5.5 Middle Eastern Version. This means that LTR stories cannot be flipped to RTL!
In the CS5 version of Photoshop, Apple+H doesn't always work to hide the paths around vector shapes when I open the layer styles dialogue.. I used to be able to open the layer styles dialogue (in CS4 and earlier), and if a vector path was visible around the current layer, I could hit Apply H and hide it. Now sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't.. Honestly, this is the kind of stuff that causes me to get so frustrated with Adobe. New versions of CS software, and tons of stuff that used to work fine now no longer works correctly! If I didn't have to update my creative suite to stay up to date w my clients, I probably wouldn't upgrade..I find the little things like this...and there are so many of them...far too frustrating for the kind of money it costs to buy the creative suite!!
I have 4 registered images of fungi, all images are at the same exposure settings but focused at different levels within the frame. I need to 'blend' together to make one image with a combined DoF. Ok, so I've imporetd into PSCC as 4 stacked Layers, non of which are Background Layers. I've selected all 4, auto alligned and then used Auto Blend Layers [ABL]. The outcome is that the top 3 layers have totaly black masks applied and the bottom all white. All I basically get as an output is one of the 4 images, no selectivity whatsoever, presumably because of the 3 totally black masks. It also executes the process very quickly. I assume ABL should be selecting the better focused areas on each image [white on the black masks] and combining all to give me one image with collective DoF. This isn't happening
Hello. The changed shortcuts to toggle the autoselection of layers with the move tool selected is highly frustrating to me. I used to have a great workflow with auto select turned on and used cmd to drag elements that were either off-canvas or too small / too transparent to grab them. Now it seems to be inverted: I need to turn auto select off to toggle with cmd. When it is turned on, cmd seems to toggle now between layer and group auto selection. I can't understand why this was changed or is at least not something I can switch between in the preferences. Thanks you very much for looking into this. Michael Heins
Why does Photoshop CC2014 now show the complete filepath instead of the file name? I hate this! Please give us the ability to change it to how we like it...as for me, file name only!
I've been having a problem lately with type layers where they no longer increment/decrement in size in a logical manner. For example, if I select a 22px text object and change the size using the CMD+SHIFT+[PERIOD] shortcut, the text will change size not from 24px > 26px > 28px like it should, but increments in odd steps like 22px > 24.01px > 26.02px > 28.03px > 30.04px. Also, if I select that 22px text layer and reposition it to a nearby rounded pixel-perfect XY postion, the text size of the text layer itself will change itself to something arbitrary like 23.71px. Another reproducible bug is if I select two type layers like the ones in my example shots where one is 48px and one is 22px and I change the text size in the toolbar with them both selected to, say, 30px, both objects end up changing to 30.13px, which is not acceptable or normal behaviour. This is extremely frustrating, as my layers are changing on me constantly and I have to constantly change them back to t
In CC 2014 latest version (2014.2.1 as of today), if I try to type in some value for a mesh material property (shine or whatever), weird things happen. For instance: I create a cube wrap mesh (or any other 3d object) then I click on the material, then I double click any value in the properties panel (or just click and drag to select the whole value), and when I start typing something like "53", the first keystroke is registered (5) and the box ends editing mode automatically, so the value is set at 5 and I have to click again to add the other number. Some times, the value is entered okay (first keystroke is not auto-validated) but after pressing intro, it just goes back to the old value, ignoring what I just entered. Sometimes it does work, but problems are more prone to happen if I try to set several values in a row using numerical values (as opposed to just dragging the slider). I am not sure when this started happening, but for sure it didn't in CC pre-2014 (I still have it installe
Much like, many, many other Photoshop CC users, if I load Photoshop directly (as opposed to double-clicking a PSD file), the stupid welcome screen (well, a blank, white window) appears and will not go away. I have read that if you wait around 20 minutes, stuff will appear, including a 'don't show this stupid screen and crash my computer ever again' option box. I'm a fully paid up CC subscriber and I'm running 2014.2.1 release. PLEASE fix this, surely it's a 5 minute job to make that stupid window go away and never come back! Come on, this hang is the first thing a Photoshop user experiences when they load it up. It does not inspire much confidence in what's supposed to be a pro-level piece of software. I've been using Photoshop professionally since VERSION 1 and do not need to be told, by a crashy welcome screen, how to use it. I do know that over the past few versions, it's become progressively less stable - and more bloated with silly features. PLEASE fix this!
Photoshop CC 2014 repeatedly crashes after hitting command-z, and says he could not perform that particular action because of "a program error". Either PS crashes directly after that, or I have to force quit it manually because the message keeps on popping up, whatever I do. This is occurring since the 2014 update. Thank you for any help. L.
I use photoshop with use of Applescript to move layers from one file to another. The script line "duplicate layer 1 of current document to after layer 1 of OtherDocRef" works in Photoshop CC but now that I am using Photoshop CC 2014 it no longer works and has an error. This means my team can not upgrade to Photoshop CC 2014.
Hello, I have a problem with the blur tool , the effect if wall lamp only between the point of origin of the click and the place of destination in the form of a straight line. The effect does not follow any more the route made with the mouse. It seems whether it is since the last update An idea? I use windows 8.1 and cc 2014 translated with reverso
More complete discussion here: http://graphicdesign.stackexchange.co... The file format dropdown in the new 'Extract Assets' feature works only occasionally and (apparently) randomly, generally being stuck on the default png-32 setting. Would love to be able to produce SVGs with this feature! I'm running a fully updated version of CC 2014 (as of 10/10) and Mavericks OS. Otherwise its an awesome feature.
Have witnessed the issue from 5.5 to CC on OSX. Opening a .PSD that has a font being used that is not installed on the current system, entering a text box with the missing font (see image attached), pressing escape or cancel after the warning dialog about not having the font installed pops up renders the toolbox keyboard shortcuts unusable. After that has happened, I can no longer press V to get to the move tool (or any shortcut to get to any of the tools). If you enter a text box that does have an installed font, press escape or cancel like before the keyboard shortcuts get restored.
Previously created action scripts no longer work when updating to the Photoshop 2014.2.0. I rolled back and they work fine. Please advise when this issue is corrected.
In Photoshop CC2014 on mac os x does not work function create new document with the preset of another opened document (which you can choose from "preset" dropdown). New created document doesn't inherits neither size or rulers from targeted document.
Photoshop CC 2014: First I thought 'how cool, they already have the new mobile device resolutions included in their dialog box when opening a new PS-document' to find out a moment later, that the iPhone 6 Plus' resolution is wrong. In the dialogue it's 1080x1920, Full HD, which actually does apply to the display's resoliution, but not to the software. The software needs to be rendered at 1242x2208 and scaled down to 1080x1920. It's not documented too good and many sourced like Wikipedia actually got their numbers wrong. But owning an iPhone 6 Plus and currently working on a Retina HD version of an app I have to deal with exactly this issue. If you throw a 1080x1920-Image into the iP6+, it gets scaled down, although it would fit according to it's screen. Strange thing though.
On my brand new Macbook Pro, in Photoshop CC (latest version), In Docked/Tabbed windows dragging objects around (like dragging a small red circle around a new document) is fast and smooth like liquid. Problem: On Floating windows however, it is very sluggish with rough movements (in comparison to tabs). And I always use floating windows. Can someone please help me resolve this so I can use my new Mac with Photoshop?
Using Wacom Bamboo CTL-460 on my iMac and have noticed strange Photoshop CC (and CS6) behaviour since the first beta of OSX 10.9 Mavericks. After a couple of actions with brushes, colours, moving layers and zooming in/out, my PS gets stuck. It shows brush tool, which can move, but I can do nothing till I switch to another app and then get back to PS. Shortcuts don't wort either. There are some messages on Adobe forums about PS shortcuts not working properly on 10.9. I thought it might be a bug in OS with it's all-new memory processing, correlating with PS engine somehow, until I plugged my mouse in... everything worked just fine with it! Double-checked this on iMac and MacBook Pro: all the same on both machines. So IMHO Wacom driver is definitely causing the issue. The latest driver update does not solve it.
