Photoshop 21.0.0 ... In left toolbar, the set of W tools for Quick Selection has the usual two icons and not the third (Object Selection tool), which I don't see until AFTER I Select & Mask. Was the tutorial that just showed me three icons for Windows users? I'm on Mac Desktop.

Hello, while working with Ph 21.0.0 the crosshair of the pencil tool moved off center for some reason, the issue is most noticeable when the radius is 2px. I've found other posts on the forum that talk about this issue but none here and none with a clear answer... i hope someone can help me.
The "transparency grid" used to visualise the transparency in a document appears to get blended with the image using Gamma 1,0 instead of honouring the gamma of your document (usually ~2,2). Confirmed in CS6 and CC2015. This means that you do not get a realistic preview of how the transparency actually will blend once you put the image on top of something else. Workaround: Use a pattern fill layer or similar with a grid instead. That will blend correctly. Solution suggestion: Blend the transparency grid using the same gamma as the rest of the document. It's easier to show with an image (view full size): Expected behavior: Both images should look the same. As you can see a soft transparency-transition looks very wrong against the transparency grid (and the colour shifts slightly), but looks fine against an image of a grid. --- If you turn on "Blend RGB Colors Using Gamma 1,00" the image of a grid blends like the transparency grid does. But this obviously not a good workar
Is there a keyboard shortcut for selecting the mask of currently active layer? It's a very common action and it would really speed up some workflows.I can't find it so I presume there is none. If so, it should be a thing. Thank you.
So, I'm working on a game screen and have designed everything in Photoshop to match resolutions. I need the logo to be vector for marketing, so I made an Illustrator file and linked it to a smart object in Photoshop. I have tried ALL smart object crop options for the logo to match it to the Illustrator artbox, and it seems like it works great!...until I update the Illustrator file. Suddenly weird things happen in photoshop, like scale-changing and position changing. It doesn't even seem like it's trying to adjust for anything, they're just WEIRD unlinked scale changes. All I want is for the smart object to stay where it is and update the vector art within the limits of the Illustrator artbox. I have tried this in Photoshop 2018 and 2019. Neither work right. Please help! We work in teams and need updates from one file to sink with another.
I run my iPad in German but I am used to work with photoshop in English. Sometimes it’s hard to understand the German translations. So I would like to work with Photoshop on iPad in English as well. But I don’t see how I can change the language of the app.
If in View / Preferences / File Handling I set 5 or 10 or 15 or 30 or 60 minutes for 'Automatically Save Recovery Information Every' box and apply changes, and then after equivalent time from doing that action I tick on 'Use Graphics Processor' box in 'View / Preferences / Performance', apply changes and go to open file (File / Open) I always have set Portable Bit Map (*.BPM, *.PGM , *.PPM) file format. After I untick 'Use Graphics Processor' box and go to open file it's back to default so: All Formats. And so on, any time I tick said box the file format changes to PBM, when box is unticked default is back. Windows 10 / Photoshop 2020 (21.1.1); bug reported on PR as well.
I am trying to render a video but it keeps crashing. My video doesn’t have that many layers and the main effect I’m using is Liquify. I have the latest version of the software and my computer isn’t even 6months old. What could it be, please help?
Hi, artifacts (dark edges) are shown on grouped layers if a clipping layer is applied. It's visible even if the clipping layer is hidden.See attached PSDhttps://www.dropbox.com/s/idz774k9p191c0j/artifacts.psd?dl=0Roman
When saving a file for web you cannot use shortcuts in the textfield for the file name, e.g. if you want to paste (cmd+V) or select all (cmd+A) it doesn't work, only the "Edit" button in the menu is blinking once.
The Problem:Photoshop historically renders transparent differently with and without background, It is usually stronger than it should, that makes working with translucent color harder than it should.Workaround:So in my past experience, I have a workaround, that is toggle color setting's "Desaturate Monitor Color" by 0%, and turn off checkered background. That will make it's background composite back to normal, or the way it should represent across all softwares.New Issue:But then CC 2019 this method will cause it to glitch out. Since it wasn't able to render transparency, and result a blocky 1 bit blocks. Reverting to Legacy Composite engine doesn't help either. I even tried disable GPU acceleration, still no avail.I hope the included screenshot could explain better. Tell me if I need also include other image software's result like Preview, Xee, or ClipStudio Paint. This is very photoshop specific issue since decades ago, and that workaround is broken now. I have a javascript-program that worked in 2014 for adding text given in a text file to images as captions. Today I wanted to reuse it with Photoshop 21.1.1 and it ran almost succesfully. Only setting the indent for the created Text Item with the "firstLineIndent"-property is not taken; it is always 0, but no errors are shown. textItemRef.firstLineIndent = 32; ...does not change that setting to 32 and does not throw an error.JJMack thankfully tested the following script: // Create Image with 1382 x 787 Pixel<br>app.preferences.rulerUnits = Units.PIXELS; app.documents.add(1382, 787, 300, "Image Caption", NewDocumentMode.RGB); createText("Caption", "Calibri", 8.0, 0, 0, 0, "Description Text", 5, 179, 324, 14, Justification.LEFT, 32, 0);function createText(lname, fface, size, colR, colG, colB, content, tX, tY, wdth, hght, just, indent, rot) { // Add a new layer in the new document<br> var artLayerRef = app.activeDocument.artLayers.add();<br> artLaye
Photoshop 21.1.1 (latest), Windows 10I have the Photoshop status bar set to show the current image pixel dimensions. Usually (though not always) when I resize the image (Image -> Image Size), the status bar display does not change - it displays the pre-resize dimensions. The image is resized, and going into the Image Size dialog shows the correct size, as does the full display when the status bar is clicked. In the above image the original dimensions were 3028 px x 2260 px, resized to 2500 px x 1866 px. Clearly the status bar is not getting updated. This behavior started after a recent update.Such strange bugs Photoshop has...David
When importing a PDF with images, Photoshop CS6 adds faint outlines to the PDF image segments in the file. Prior versions of Photoshop render the PDF correctly. See the attached image for an example.
Ok, after you resolved the problem with stamp-preview there is a new "kind-of-preview-bug".Just make an adjustment-layer, ie. a curve. Normally if you click on the symbol of the curve-layer you see the curve in the properties panel and if you click on the corresponding mask of the curve layer you see the mask-properties in the properties panel. This automatic switching doesn't work anymore. You have to click on the corresponding little symbols in the properties panel on the top now or if you have two layers with masks, you can click on the second layer-mask to get the mask-propertiesI have tested several preferences according to it, ie. Workspace - auto show/hide panels, but this doesn't help.
Here's another bug that Adobe introduced in this mess of an updatehttps://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop/21-1-0-transform-tool-alt-clic-to-set-axis-point/td-p/10939...Rolled back to 21.0.3 and all is fine again. did Adobe actually test this update before releasing it
Yesterday I installed the most recent version of macOS Catalina (10.15.3), I was using the 10.15.2 I guess (or the previous of the one I installed). Since yesterday I can't open Photoshop 2020. As soon as I click on the icon the window of "unexpected quit" appears as you can see in the image (It's in Italian). I've tried to uninstall and install again the app and tried to install an old version of Photoshop (I'm currently using the 21.1) but nothing changes. Have anyone experienced the same? How do I solve this huge problem? I wanted to run the app through the terminal, maybe that could help, but I don't know how to.
When I select the keys in the timeline in one layer, the keys in the layer with which I worked before are highlighted to.I have to cancel selection, select keys again and the keys on another layer do not selected this time - this EXTREMELY slows down the work because i must to do this all the time! - (select- cancel selection - select againSometimes accidentally deleting or moving the keys where i didn't want it and having to go back many steps to correct the errori think - this is not a feature - this is bug!
In the latest version of Photoshop 21.0.2 and in 21.01 the clone tool and the healing brush is not working as expected. It will copy from one spot to another on the same image, but if two image files are used it is broken. Here is what I found. it is not calculating the copy space properly, If the source and target areas have the same dimensions, then it copies as it should, However as the size of the target area increases, the amount copied decreases, until it does not copy at all. I experimented like this: the source file was 500 X 500 pixels, I copied on to a target area of the same size, perfect. then I tried a target area of 1000 by 1000 and only part of the image would show, it was oddly clipped. then: 1500 by 1500 target area, even less. If I tried to copy a 500-pixel detail from a source image to a large target file that was 2550 pixels by 3300 pixels, nothing would copy. The workaround: Make a blank page the same size as your target area, drag the small source file onto
In the 'Select and Mask' workspace in Photoshop CC2019, the keyboard shortcuts for switching tools/adjusting brush size (eg 'z' to switch to zoom tool, '['&']' to adjust brush) appear to no longer work. This is actually quite frustrating, as habitually tapping a key to change a tool does nothing, and the wrong tool then often ends up being applied.
Good morning! Every time I try to open a new file, the window that appears is empty, just grey, without any possibility to choose a format or something else
As mentioned here, Paste in place appears not to be working correctly in Photoshop 21.0.2 (nor in 21.0.1, or 21.0.0).Here is the issue: A path is created that comes off of the canvas Right click and select Make selection... so that the marching ants run off the canvas Using the shortcut (cmd+shift+v) or selecting Edit > Paste Special > Paste in place, the new copied element shifts up by around 30px and is not pasted in place. If the path doesn't run off the canvas Paste in place appears to work correctly.Photoshop 20.0.8 was the last version to work correctly, so I've rolled back.Best,Tom
Since the latest update (21.1) my paths are not behaving properly. No popup appears when right-clicking in the 'Paths' window (so I can't access 'make selection, 'fill path' etc.), and when moving a path within the window it creates visual ghosting overlay images of said paths, which stay visible even when navigating to other tabs with the menu.
