Hey! I'm running into an issue with drag-and-drop interactions created in Captivate Classic (latest version). The interactions work perfectly on desktop with a mouse, and on iPad/iPhone, etc., but they fail on touch devices such as Surface Pro laptops and large touchscreen tables (Windows-based). Here's what I've looked at so far: Published as HTML5-only (no SWF fallback)SCORM 1.2 and 2004, tested bothEnabled Scalable HTML ContentEnabled Gesture SupportUsed both text captions and smart shapes as drag sourcesSet SCORM to open in a new window on Moodle LMS (not in iframe)Tested in Moodle and SCORM Cloud (Failed in both locations).Tried long-press, stylus, tap-drag, and finger drag — no input is registered I found that: The DND fails across all browsers (Edge, Chrome) on touchDND works perfectly on desktop using a mouseH5P DND interactions do work on these same devicesSome forum posts suggest that touch support only works on mobile browsers, not
I am having issues with the new Adobe Captivate CP. It will not launch. I have tried to run in admin mode and also tried to uninstall all of my Creative Cloud apps so I could use CCleaner to clean up old files and the applications. I was able to get it to work for a few days, and now the error message has returned. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks
Hi, I'm using Captivate Classic (CpC) 2019. I'm struggling with the radio button widget. I've inserted a widget through Interactions > Learning Interactions. I am able to add my text and adjust font by double-clicking into the widget. I'm also able to delete a radio button from there (I only want one radio button). But I'm having two issues. No matter what I do to resize the widget box (whether I use the handles or adjust in the properties menu), the content gets cut off. The radio button only has one sentence, and I cannot get that to display properly both in CpC and in preview. Also, as I'm adjusting the widget size, it just becomes bigger and blurrier - but no matter how big I make it, it still cuts the sentence off from displaying. According to this post, I should have action and reporting options for the widget, but I don't. All I can adjust in the properties panel are Style, Options., and Timing. If I cut my sentence down to the bare mini
I am using the latest Adobe Captivate 12.6 Is it possible to get an event listener for when triggered audio completes and adjust a variable accordingly.I am trying to setup a toggle button for triggered audio.I have a slide, an audio variable (true, false) and a button to play audio. When the learner clicks on the audio button, if sets the audio variable to true and plays an audio clip.If the audio variable is already true, then it sets it to false and stops the audio. This works fine but....My issue is when leaner clicks on the audio button, it sets the audio variable to true and plays the audio but when the audio ends on its own, there is no way to set the audio variable back to false so when the learner clicks on the audio button again, the variable is still set to true so it sets it to false and stops the audio (which was already stopped on it's own).I tried setting the setting a delayed action which would adjust the audio variable back to false after the delayed time that would
Hi,I have a Captivate 2019 serial number since that year I bought it.Now I just installed it on my Mac, run it, then a pop-up appears telling me I am under a 30-day trial period, or buy a license. But I have one. There's no place where I can introduce my serial once installed. Anyone knows how to attach this serial to my Captivate so I can run it in an unrestricted way? Thanks!! Ignacio
Wow. When I select "Image" from ther Add Media Blocks options I get TWO images. Why? Why? If I try and hide one of the images off it hides both. Why? I understand that for responsive design we have to template/widget everything ( are the days of truly custom designed training gone? ) but why can't I add one image on it's own? Why?
Hi All,I am running Captivate 12.6 and receive an error message "Something Went Wrong" every time I try to preview a project in Google Chrome. Initially, I was able to preview without difficulty and then this started happening. I have cleared the cache in my browser and Captivate, and still cannot preview. I would appreciate any ideas or solutions anyone may be able to provide. Thank you. *Screen Shot Below.
I have a 4-module course that includes software simulations. I have to blur out personal information on the screens. On some modules, the blur area function works fine, but on other modules, it's hit or miss. I'm working my way through the SCORM output on my LMS on the 3rd module, and none of the blur areas are showing. I can't expose the personal information, and I've only been able to correct this on previous modules by downloading the background, blurring the info in Photoshop, and replacing the background with my correctly redacted version. I don't have time for this. Has anyone else come across this, and is there a solution?
I just downloaded Captivate, so I am on the 12.6 version. When it first opens, the Start Screen seems to be messing up. The menu bar (minimize and close button) is missing from the top screen and I can't drag and move the window around. My co-worker has the 12.4 version and she has the buttons and can move her screen. The attached image is from her computer and I have arrows pointing the area that is missing from mine.
Hello,In Adobe Captivate Version 12.6, I need to hide a few slides to see if I require them in the presentation. In the past I was able to right-click and choose Hide Slide. Now that option is no longer there. Where can I find this?
Hi everyone,I’m facing a serious issue with Adobe Captivate Classic and I can’t seem to fix it.What happened:I made some changes in the Text Caption visual settings under the project’s publishing preferences. After that, Captivate stopped working properly. Here’s what’s going wrong:When I try to create a new blank project, nothing happens — the screen stays the same as if the button is not working. If I try to record a software simulation, it records fine, but when I try to publish or even preview it in HTML5, I get a publishing error. When I attempt to reset publishing preferences to default, Captivate crashes and closes by itself. What I’ve tried so far:Uninstalled and reinstalled Captivate.Used Revo Uninstaller to completely remove all files and registry entries before reinstalling.Unfortunately, after reinstalling, the exact same problem persists.Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,I'm working with an e-learning module exported from Adobe Captivate (HTML5, fixed size 1920×1080). On desktop browsers, everything displays perfectly: the content fills the slide and all elements (including those near the right edge, like the “START” button or text) are visible. However, on mobile devices (Chrome and Edge, it's fine on Mozilla Firefox), the slide's right edge gets cut off — some content (e.g., the end of a long title or a button placed near the right side) is missing or hidden. This happens even if I try to patch all parent containers, canvases, and internal wrappers to 1926px width, and ensure overflow: visible everywhere. Still, only the first 1920px of the slide's content is rendered; the rest is not shown or is completely white.Details:The Captivate project was exported at 1920×1080.The problematic content is positioned close to the right edge of the slide. All attempts to force the container, canvas, and wrappers wider via JavaScript or CSS did
I purchased Captivate this evening. I received 2 emails; one with my receipt and one confirming my subscription. I received no Serial Number and no link for installation. When landing on the Captivate page, I'm asked to download a 30-day free trial. Please provide solution on how to download the most recent version for Mac.
Hi, Any hotfix to upgrade outdated jQuery v1.10.2 , jQuery Mobile v1.4.0 and lodash 3.10.1 library version embebded in SCORM file generated using Presenter 11 ? RegardsGoh
Hi everyone,I’m trying to install and purchase Adobe Captivate, but I keep running into the same problem on both Mac and PC.I downloaded the available versions from Adobe’s official website (the new version and Captivate Classic), but when I try to activate or purchase the software, I’m redirected to:– Either a broken page,– Or the purchase page for Photoshop (which is unrelated).I’ve repeated the process on multiple machines and browsers — same issue every time.I’m wondering:- Has anyone else experienced this problem recently?- Is this a known issue at Adobe?- Is there any working version I can download (Captivate 2019, 11.5.5, etc.) while this is being fixed?- Is there a reliable way to purchase and activate the software?I would prefer to use Captivate on **Mac**, but I’ve tested on Windows too — same result. Thanks in advance for any guidance or workaround. Marc
Hi Adobe Community,I’m using Adobe Captivate (latest version) to create a video-based SCORM 1.2 course that will be uploaded to SAP SuccessFactors. The course only contains a video — no quiz or interaction — and I need to ensure that learners must watch the entire video before the course is marked as complete.I’m a bit unsure about the correct tracking and reporting settings for this kind of project. Could anyone please share general guidance or best practices to ensure video completion is accurately tracked in this setup?Any tips from those who’ve done this before would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance,Kumaren Ramsamy
Hello, I have just started using the latest version of captivate and I am already running into some obstacles (mostly self-imposed). I have modified a video content block to appear the way I want it to on desktop, but I am at a loss regarding how to edit the JSON file so that the content still appears legible and attractive when switching to Tablet or Mobile display. I guess I'm having a hard time reverse engineering the CSS in the file to get the ideal appearance on each display. Can anyone suggest some resources that will help me figure this out? Thanks.
I would really like to start using Adobe Captivate 12 to build responsive courses but it is still impossible to design a useable course because of the lack of focus on basic design needs. Major case in point... It is impossible to add video into a course. If I try to add video into a course Captivate does something utterly ridiculous with the layout. It creates a horrible black wrapper around the outside of the video that it is impossible to manage. For example Here I have added a video. I can adjust the size and position of the video by tweaking the size of the padding around it and in doing so, I can remove most of the black padding around it. But look what happens when I switch to mobile phone view... This is completely unusable and If I try to adjust the padding to make this fit like so... Look what happens to desktop view...Captivate could be a great product but this makes it totally unuasable for any professional course builds.
So far I have been using a third party for generating my voice overs. However I would like to use the voice overs in Adobe Captivate 12. Sometimes I can see over 100 voices and generate them but at other times I get a message to say It appears there is a problem loading the voice. I have contacted my company's IT department - they have done various tests but they tell me that the problem is not with the security on my computer. Can you please advise?
Simple text box. The bottom of the "g" and the right side of the last letter are cropped. I've tried changing all the settings that are causing this to happen? Ideas? I've tried changing: font, font size, character spacing, paragraph spacing, padding right, padding bottom.
Hi there.I'm new to Captivate - no obvious access to Classic. I am trying to figure out how to package multiple SCO together when Adobe's Multi-SCORM packaging is not available to me. Any search I do leads me here: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/classic/multi-scorm-packager.htmlBut that does not work with Captivate 12.5 on a Mac. Any advice, tips, or alternatives would be appreciated. Without the ability to do this, Captivate is a no-go as a tool for me.
Hi Team, New user here with version 12.6. I have a graded exam, and in theory I've correctly set the pass/fail criteria (adjusted the slider to pass at 65%), and set the results slide to forward to either a "Congrats you passed" screen or a "Sorry try again" screen. The problem is, regardless of if I pass or fail it while in preview mode, hitting the continue button on the results slide always takes me to whatever the next slide in the slide order is. I can't figure out how to get it to activate based on score. I've attached a screenshot showing the pass/fail settings and one of the quiz preferences. Any ideas?
I'm beginning to work with Captivate and just ran a test with my translations dept. When I export the Project Content and Closed Captions, the document table is filled with duplicates seemingly because of the various states for buttons and text. I've been told this will double our cost for translations because they are doing everything upwards or 4-5x each. For example, a single quiz option in a multiple choice has 5 states (normal, hover, selected, disabled checked, disabled unchecked) and each occurs in the export doc. Does any one have experience with this? A workaround maybe?
When I export Project Contents and Closed Captions to send to translations, the captions don't seem to export. To be more clear, the boxes that pop up to give the learner feedback on their answer. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I missed? If these don't translate, it may be a dealbreaker.
Is there a way to disable autoplay of slide audio in Captivate 12? Automatically playing audio does not meet accessibility standards for our organization as it interferes with the screen readers.
