Captivate

Hello, I know this questions was asked aout 6 years ago, but I wondered if there has been any progress. I have two Captivare 2019 zip files that were created by a teammate that is no longer with the company. I need to update the large projects, but all I have is the zip file (HTM) is there any way to convert the contents of the zipfile to .CPTX?  I am hoping the answer is yes (weak smile) ... help! 

Hi,Im here on a 30 day trial to see if Captivate fits my companies needs. We make interactive video elearning. Our needs are simple but specific. We try to never "leave the film" and make it seamless. All programmers now busy for a few months we needa fast tool to quickly replace them for a bit.I launched Captivate with the intention of attempting a simple demo. In my view, nothing too hard.1. play a video2 pause on final frame3 display 2 or more exercise buttons over final frame (OK if I have ot kludge a work around here, using a png of final frame, used to that) OR even better, display a "loop video" as the background of the exercise.4. User chooses a button, depending on which a new video plays, a different video per button.5. Simple abilities to show a text page and a quiz, and Im done.I was stumped at the first hurdle...I imported my forst video... and cant find it, just a black screen... I've got an image I've made for users getting the question right.  Currently I've got a single action script that plays a 'ding' sound, pauses for a couple seconds and then jumps back to the main question board.  It works great, and I just use that one script on the 'On Success' action for all 25 questions. Easy peasy.  Now we've decided it would be nice to add an image in case folks have their sound turned down, and the built-in "correct" text boxes just don't cut it visually despite best efforts to make them pretty enough.   I figured if I imported my new image into the library, I'd be able to place it on each slide and 'hide' or 'show' based on what's happening, and just add that line to my little script.Except when I drag the image to a slide from the library, it changes the name and instead of "Correct Bubble", it's now "Image_16", then "Image_17", etc... making it impossilbe to do this one one script.  Now I need 25 different scripts that all do exac

We need to develop a certificate that participants can download/print after completing a quiz. But we only want those who score an 80% or above to get the certificate. I have no idea how to set this up or what variables to use. The course will be uploaded to the Prime LMS. I tested a certificate in there and the variable I used does automatically show the user's name, but the course name does not appear. I've tried two different variables for that. One should appear when I enter the course name in the Project Info sheet. I did that but the course name still does not appear where I placed the text box variable $$cpQuizInforCourseName$$ on the certificate thinking it would pull the course name from Prime but it does not. I also tried using the other variable that pulls from the Project Info course name and that did not work either. What are the steps to get the course name to appear (ideallly by pulling it from Prime) and how to I set it up so that only people who score 80% get a ce

Hi,I have created a quiz with 4 multiple choice questions that shows a correct check mark graphic once the correct answer is selected using actions. Right now this just works on the first question.How do i reuse this this check mark for the next questions? Is there a way to do this without using unique names for the checkmark on each quiz question?Thanks.

Hello all, So, I am a bit of a novice with Captivate.My project gives viewers an option to go back and review any 1 of 5 sections in the lesson before taking a quiz. I want a button that lets them skip to the end of the lesson to appear at the end of each section, but ONLY if they're reviewing the slide a second time. This way, they can review a single section without having to sit through every section after it.I have been too anxious to play around with variables or advanced actions, but I suspect this is what needs to be done to build this kind of button. Any guidance would be much appreciated, thank you!!

I'm having a similar problem to others I've seen posted. Just created a cp file and can't open it. When you double-click the file, Captivate launches but only goes to the opening screen. You can see the slides from this file when you try to import it into a blank movie, but nothing happens when you select import. The file has maybe 100 or so slides and no audio. The following error message appears: Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000. Any help would be appreciated. I would hate to have to recreate the file. Thanks, Jim

I operate Captivate 7 on Windows 8. Recently Win8 auto updated some features over the night. Ever since then, whenever I try to publish my captivate course files, I get an error saying it can't publish them because the file name or extension are too long. The update added yet another layer of folders to sift through, so I thought that was the problem. I changed the default publish location to my desktop, but I am still getting the same error. See attached screen shot. Any help on this one? I need to get these published and off to a customer asap. Thanks, Arthurside note: after giving me this error and clicking ok, it does go on to publish the course. The big question, then, is what is this error telling me and why is it popping up? I can't afford to have some internal issue cause the course not to play for my customers.

hello  I am looking for a javascript I can use that will allow me to use the standard playbar forward button to jump to a specific slide for branching. 

Is Adobe Captivate part of my CC subscription?

We developed a SCORM 1.2 file to load into our Learning Management System (Saba Cloud / Cornerstone on Demand).  The file is published as HTML5 only (no SWF). The file has clickable boxes, buttons and links.  Some appear to open to the designated URL(s) when clicked and some do not.   Has anyone experienced this and what was yout solution?  Thank you.

First time posting, and I could not seem to locate an answer.  Through my search, it seems many of the posts were from before the DD/MM/YYYY format became available.  My question is this:  Is there a way to format the dat to include the leading zero (for single digit days and months such as 08/02, for the eigth of February.  Anytime I see DD/MM/YYYY, I'm expecting it to read 2 digits/2 digits/4 digits.  I'm not sure if that's something I got used to in Microsoft Excel.  I thought it may be an Adobe convention, but Adobe Acrobat offers a number of formats that include the leading zero.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

How long are the default slide transitions set to. Do they last 1 second?

Using Software Simulation option for Demo and TrainingI selected Application and Application region, but when go to view previous isn't displaying application region,  full screen isn't displayed. Thanks in advance for your help

Looks like this documentation on the adobe site was update in 2021, but does not correlate with Mac perhaps? I just need to disable mouse click sounds. How is that accomplished now?    

ULTIMATE GOAL:We want to create something like a podcast using Captivate by allowing the learner to listen within the course (which I can create) but also want the ability to make the audio file availble for downloading so the end-user can choose to download it to a different device (like a phone or iPod) and listen later while traveling. CHALLENGE:With all the bad actors trying to hack and hijack corporate systems, my company has severely limited our use of external storage systems.  We can continue using our LMS but something like the Google Cloud is  an unavailable option.  So I don't think the Action of "Open URL or file" is what will work.  QUESTION:I'm hoping there is something I'm missing that allows the ability to download a file (specifically an MP3 in this case) from the published Captivate module.  Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi All, A user I manage has adobe Captivate installed and is paying for the subscription montly however when she goes to open Captivate it says trial expired and is asking for a serialnumber? Can someone please tell me where I can find this serial number if im paying monthly? As she is currently paying for a service she is unable to access. I have also tried clicking the 'Adobe ID' button which then says browser not supported (even when updating everything).  Id really appreicate it if anyone could help me with this, thank you, Mason  

I've attempted to use the MultiSCO Packager inside of Captivate 2019 on the windows to build a course with modules and test published with SCORM 1.2. It's giving me an error message that it is an incompatible SCO file! I have a module published in SCORM 1.2 and separate test also published in the same scorm. I am using 11.5.5.553 captivate 2019 version. Please look into the attached images for your reference.

Years ago we produced a number of training materials using Adobe Captivate and exported them in Flash (.swf) format. Since Flash will be de-supported in near future, we decided to convert all these materials to video (.mp4) format (as understood, such function is available Adobe Captivate). However, the original files in .cptx format are lost; and now we only have the .swf files.As we only have Adobe Captivate 2017 installed, we hope like to know whether it is possible to:1) import the .swf file to Adobe Captivate; plus2) edit the .swf file (e.g. remove the buttons or interactive features embedded in the original Flash file)Thank you very much.

Is it possible to add a light background audio/music/tone throughout the project so that the blanks and pauses don't seem empty. Is there any built-in tone/audio in captivate that can be used?It should be something that doesn't distract the mainline audio and the user.

We have create a course using Captivate. Now we want to change CSS of some elements like header panel,  footer and banner at run time. How can we do that. Also, can we replace any image from course HTML with any other image at runtime using javascript? We were able to find functions like cp.hide("ss1"); cp.show("ss2");cp.changeState("","");Where can we find complete list of all javascript functions provided in Captivate module.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping that someome may be able to advise me how to get over the issues I'm having regarding the submit button on quiz question slides. I have added in some question slides but when clicking the Submit button sometimes it moves on after 1 click other times it's taking 2 clicks but I can't find any reason for this. I've run some tests with the questions and sometimes a question which took 2 clicks, next time takes 1 and another which moved on on 1 click then takes 2. Users only have one attempt at each of these questions because they can change their answer before submitting.  On advice I've changed the On Success from Contiue to Jump to but it's made no difference. The only thing I've changed is the colour of the Submit button. Thank you to everyone for any advice/help would be great as I have spent so much time on this but without any progress.
