Captivate

Hello, I am creating an online quiz, and I'm having a bit of trouble with something. I would like my quiz to step the user through each question without telling them if they're right or wrong. When they get to the end (before they see their results) I want them to be able to go back and change any answer that they have submitted. I can't seem to figure out how this is done. Once an answer is submitted, it appears to be "locked in". If the user realizes that one of their answers is wrong, there doesn't seem to be a way for them to correct it before the end of the quiz. Can somebody please tell me how this is done? Thank you. Jon

Hi,    I had been using Adobe characters from assets untill a few days back. It was working fine. Now, when i try to access characters from assets or media -> character, the asset window is blank. The characters have dissappeared. When i checked the character folder, i can see the different character .png files. But these arent appearing when i try to access them for a project.    Also when i try to download some characters, it shows 100% downloaded, and a blank window opens as download status, which needs to be cancelled (Adobe Captivate freezes most of the time i cancel this) and the newly downloaded characters arent listed in the 'downloads' folder.   As per some suggestions found in this community, i tried clearing preferences, checked if the assets are placed in public folder etc. but it didnt work.   Please let me know if there's any solution for this.

Hi guys,  I'm in need of urgent help. When publishing my project to the computer from Captivate I get an error message saying: "Could not copy to folder: users/(my folders here)/assets". I've never had a problem with this before the latest updates. I have tried clearing the cache and allowing Captivate full accesss to my disk. What can I do? I really need get this published and sent off to the client for testing as soon as possible. I'm running. Mac Os Catalina: 10.15.7Adobe Captivate. 11.5.5 Thanks, NJC

Hi All,I think this is doable, but I lack the knowledge.I have a project that is in one CPTX. The content is broken into three modules. At the end of each module are quiz questions relevant to that module's topic. The score is tabulated at the end of the project. If a user fails the quiz, the Retake Quiz button takes the user back to the first question of the first module. This is fine and correct for what I need. But when the user retakes the last question in the first module, the user is then taken to the next module's content slide. What I want is to create a button on the last question slide of the three modules that, when the user views that slide again, a button appears to take the user directly to the second module's questions, and then to the third module's questions, without having to view the intervening content. Is there any guidance available on how to set this up? Thank you! Don

Hi All,We are currently using Frame Maker (2019 release) ,Version: 15.0.4.751  We are planning to include Video/GIFs in our User Manual for better understanding. Am looking for a Adobe tool to record screen [user action on a PC] .Also tool to create animated GIFs . Example : Packet flow through a Network. I have Adobe Captivate [2019 release , version 11.5.5.553] Installed .Am able to record screen using it. Is there a option on Adobe Captivate to convert the full or part of  video recorded in captivate to a GIF File.

I have not used my Captivate 9 for a few months. I tried to launch today and it keeps crashing. I keep getting the message "Adobe Captivate has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."I've tried several times to launch and it keeps happening. So, I uninstalled Captivate and then installed the trial version and installed with my subscription. After installation the same thing is happening. I am not having any other computer problems or problems with any other programs. Any ideas?Thanks!

Hi All,I am playing with the Multi-SCO function and may have a basic misunderstanding of the Captivate structure. And please, don't bring up "this is a really bad training approach" - I am dealing with what I have to work with. The projects I have are divided into three or more modules, or sections in one CPTX file. The end of each module has a question relevant to that module. Scoring is handled at the end of the presentation. As a single CPTX file in Taleo LearnCenter, this approach works fine. But some of these modules are very long and the liklihood that a user will fail the quiz is fairly high. So there is interest in having the ability to retake the quiz without having to go back through all the content.  The "Retake Quiz" button works fine when the user fails, but it goes to the first question of the first module. The user then has to work through the rest of the project to get all of the questions answered, so the user ends up taking the entire project two o

My Notebook (Lenovo P53) has a 3840x2160 pixel 4K display. To keep menus (office etc.) readable I'm using a scaling of 250%. I'm also using a 4K monitor (Samsung) with the same resolution and a scaling of 200%. In fact Adobe Captivate 2019 is one of the only programs running on Win 10 Pro showing the menu bar with a very small font - it is almost unreadable. To have a better comparison I place here a screenshot with Winword open. You may read without problems the menu bar of Winword - but the menu of Adobe Captivate is very small. I found and used the "dpi-awareness"-option from Adobe Captivate 2019 as the programm will not start if this option is not set. Could I change the size of the fonts somewhere?  

The installation guide mentioning installing elearning asset. but apparently it is quite useless since 11_5 incorporating some assets.however the elearning_asset installation is for 11_0 not for 11_5.so we end up losing some characters in the assets.

I'm loving a lot of the features in the new update, but I'm running into an issue when trying to download new character assets. I can browse the characters just fine, but after I click the download button, everything freezes on this screen. I am locked out from any other Captivate functions, and after waiting for 20 minutes, the issue doesn't resolve. I have to force quit the application to proceed. Does anyone have thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

Hello! I have openned all my captivate files and even tried to create new ones and the layour preview shows black. I even updated to the new captivate version and this is still going on. Do you guys know what I can do for this?  Thank you. 

Captivate 2019.I have many courses with simulation challenges.I am using transparent buttons as areas the users is challenged to click.Each of the buttons reports to an lms from a scorm, so it is essentially a quiz. I have no traditional quiz questions (T/F, M/C, etc.) in there. Only traparent buttons sending points to the LMS.My question is how do I get the a quiz result page to appear with a score and a retake button?

When I try and edit a PPT in Captivate, I get a gray screen. It used to take me to my PowerPoint deck then I would edit the slide click save then automatically go back to Captivate filmstrip. I have a Windows 10 and Captivate 2019 with the lastest version. My MS office is updated as well.  Any advice? Mark 

Is there a way to resize the red screen capture box/window that displays when i start recording a software simulation? It appears kind of big right now an I am unable to adjust the browser in such a way that I can exclude/hide the URL from getting recorded.Or is there a way to hide the URL from getting recorded?

Was the issue of Ghost lines ever resolved? I am running the Captivate v9 Scorm through our LMS and all screens with white backgrouns have ghost lines. I have read all the threads and applied all the recommended settings.Please advise

Hello,My laptop's microphone stopped working. I have gone through a lot of trouble shooting without success. Hi All, I am having some issues with the back buttons I put in my course. Its seems that the forward buttons work fine but when the user clicks the back button Captivate freezes and stops working as it should. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, Under captivate 2019 release, under html5 and with safari 15.0, the selection of a quiz answer is not displayed. However it registers (score + by returning to the question, the answer is displayed.). Have you ever encountered this? Do you have an explanation and a solution? Thank you. ST

Hi All I have a couple of HTML animations in my eLearning, which are scrollable flipbooks of PDF documents. I also have a button on certain pages, where the learner can click to display a mask with text. Even though this mask is above the HTML5 animation on the timeline, it appears behind it on the published eLearn. Is there a way around this, or will the HTML5 animations always appear on top?

Hi - I have 60+ mp4's that I need to create individual SCORM files for. I can add the videos to Captivate, and sometimes they play when I preview them in HTML5, and sometimes they do not. I cannot seem to find a pattern of why they will or will not play. I need to create 60 SCORM files each containing one video. I am unable to break up the video in anyway, is this possible for me to do? Can someone PLEASE help me with this. I have been trying to get this to work for too long! Thank you!!

Good day Captivate Users Is it possible to have dragged objects reset/return to their original position on the slide, if a learner depletes the number of attempts given?  I have a D&D interaction with 2 attempts, not set to report as part of quiz, created from scratch;                I have also enabled the "reset" option, and it works fine after the first failed attempt - HOWEVER, after the second attempt, the dragged items remain on the drop target, instead of returning to their original position. I have created shapes to show which of the dragged items are correct, and made an "on failure" action set to show them, but because the dragged items do not return to their starting position, some of the shapes now highlight blank space:                         &nbs

Hi All, I am having issues with advanced actions. I have set them up and when I revisit they dont work. I have noticed it adds a _ and random number. Feel like I am redoing a lot of work to end up in the same place. Any help would be appreciated.

I am attempting to open several Captivate files that have been stored on a network drive but were copied to desktop and am getting the "Adobe Captivate could not open..." error.I am running Captivate 2019 release 11.0.1.266 on Windows 10.Files created with the version that have not been saved to the network are not displaying this error.

I've been trying to post discussions/blogs/sample projects in the Adobe eLearning community, but all of my items have been in pending, and it's been close to a month. Any advice on what could be going on? Any one I can contact?
