Captivate

Hello,I'm working on a project that's having an odd issue. On some of my slides, the title is missing (i.e. not visible) in the Desktop viewport, but visible in every other. This is only happening on a few slides. Should I just replace them? DesktopMobileTablet Portrait 

Hi All --Brand new Captivate 2019 user here.  Just uploaded a 30 day trial version from Adobe.  This is such a basic problem, but I cannot find the solution... When in a brand new project, my slide is not centered on the stage - viewing at 100%, I must use my vert & horz scroll bars to locate the slide.  When I have located it, and try to double-click on the title text, the slide jumps again and I must locate it again.  If trying to marquee the title text on my slide, my cursor seems to be off to the left and down -- it's not aligned with the visual cursor on the screen.  I've checked my cursor location in an Illustrator document - all okay, and cursor alignment on browsers is fine as well.  I've dumped the program and reinstalled and have restarted my laptop.  Any suggestions?  This is making me crazy!  Thanks in advance. --kcH

I am working on a interactive video in which the video needs to pause at certain times to allow students to measure the distace between two points. Is there a way to be able to drop one point in one location then click and drag the second point to display the distance on screen and then once the second point is dropped, the number stays on screen until the student unpases the video?

Hi all my seniors!,I am from India. I would like to know about teh Captivate 2019 Student and Teachers Edition license type. Is the Student and Teachers Edition a permanent one or subscription based?. 

1) Trying to install Captivate 2017 on Surface Pro 7 and got the following error:"We are unable to instal Captivate this time.  (Error Code: 103)"2) Tried to install on my MacBook Pro 16 and received the following error:"The installation cannot continue as the installer file may be damaged. Download the intaller file again."The installer file was just downloaded from Adobe website.  Appreciate your help.

Dear Community,I work with Adobe Captivate 2019 since a longer time already on the same Computer. Did not need it for some weeks and wanted to start today, but there suddenly is the error 0xc000007b and no possibility to start. I have uninstalled and re installed captivate, error remains. What should I do?Br, Elke

I have the following error, one which is quite common from my research.  However, at this time I have no need to resolve this error or attach Captivate to a learning management system. Actually, I do not have one to attach to it. It is sufficient to make the error go away and it can be done by fairly hacky means at this point in time.  Any ideas?  I am not an expert in Captivate by any means, just the software dev assigned to solve it, so please be detailed. 

Dear All,right now I am struggeling hard with publishing a course using Captivate. What I need to have is provide course content (imported from Powerpoint into Captivate) as HTML5 only. I don´t want the learners being able to download course content. The goal should be giving learners access to my course within their Browser only. I tried this with moodle, but moodle - as far as I know - wants me to upload my course as a file. But then learners are able to download the course right? I really have no idea how to solve this issue. Do I even need a LMS to acchieve this?I appreciate your input, thanks a lot in advance....

I have Captivate 2019 version 11.5.5.678.   I have a button on the last slide that says restart presentation.  Here is my action: It does not work.   All it does is replay the slide.  I had this working (in a different presentation) before I updated to Big Sur, but now I cannot get this to work.    I looked through the internet and tried what i found: Branch aware is unchecked.Allow backward  movement is checked.  Why is this not working?

Hello Adobe Peeps. I am having an issue with Captivate's Software Simulation function. It only records the wallpaper and mouse movements, not the application. I have given Captivate access to the camera and control of the computer in System Preferences and restarted the Mac, but no success. I have been careful about chosing the correct application and have unplugged my monitor so there is only one screen. Everything seems to be set up properly when I hit the record button, but when I check the work, it's just screen shots of the wallpaper and the mouse. What could i be doing wrong? 

Hi all,My team has Creative Cloud for design. I called adobe and asked to purchase two licenses to Adobe Captivate. The first rep I had was solely concerned with upgrading my Creative Cloud then passed me on to the Captivate team, where I bought my two licenses.But guess what - the Captivate team set us up in a COMPLETELTY DIFFERENT admin consol for Captivate, and now, my team has to log out of Creative Cloud, and into the Captivate admin, in order to use, log out of Captivate to use Illustrator.This is ABSURD.. I have called... and callled... and chatted and chatted for 3 days now. No resolve. I have spoken or typed with the upwards of 10 peole. I can't get my Captivate sales rep to call me back - or respond to my email.BEYOND frustrated.Anyone have advice as to who can assist?

I'm using Captivate 2019, build 11.5.5.553. Please excuse the length of this post as I've gotten no help from Adobe and my course has a deadline of 4/19 - which I'll never meet as I still have 12 projects to complete and then the entire course has to be Q/A'd.Over the last month, I have successfully created 8 projects from a Captivate template I created that includes quiz slides and interactive slides. These projects are all Branch Aware, have two Groups, and have On Sucess = Jump to Slide xxx configured.If the learner does not click the appropriate item on an interactive slide, a slide informing the learner of the answer is displayed. If they respond correctly, the slide jumps to the next interactive slide. So, On Success = Jump to Slide xxx; on Last Attempt = Go to the next slide. The projects are anywhere from 48 to 98 slides long.Starting a week and a half ago, using the same template, all projects I create end up with a very long lag between slides (think 10-20 seco

I have created a custome Play/Pause button in Captivate 2019 and I have placed it in the first slide with timing 'Rest of Project' and Pause After is unchecked. Now there are other buttons in individual slides which are paused after a certain time in the slides (for example, after the audio is over in each of the slide, a button appears and wait for the user to click it). I am not able to manipulate the custom Play/Pause button state when the timeline is paused - it should change to Paused state. Means, when the timeline is paused, the custom Play/Pause button should change its state and toggle when again timeline starts playing. Any idea please? Can this be done?

This entire application exists to customize the learning experience for users.  We can format just about everything you can think of . . . except the quiz review area.  I want to, at least, be able to center the text. Nothing fancy. 

Is there a way to have JavaScript somehow watch what time the video is at and trigger an action when the video gets to a certain timestamp? 

How do I share my file for review before I upload it to the LMS?

When Captivate login screen pops up it uses the default IE crowser. However, IE is outdate on my machine. How can I change this to Edge or Chrome? It therefore doesnt allow me to sign in.

Hi, I have created a SCORM file with Captivate that has a quiz at the end. I have set quiz retry attempts to 2, meaning, a person who fails the test, can try one more time. But the person who fails can re-take the test right away. Is there a way to set a one week gap between the first test and the re-test on failing? 

Hi,I am trying to use interactive widgets (e.g., accordion).. It shows up properly in IE brower, but not in Edge, Firefox and chrome... It keeps saying "Loading..." and then nothing appears. Any suggestions? Thank you

I am not a user of Captivate, but rather a software developer who has been tasked with integrating custom software with it, so I would appreciate additional context or ideas that solve my problem but deviate from what I have speced out here.  I have the following need:  - On the first slide, collect a phone number from the user and somehow save it. Ideally it would be validated, but if not, I can live with that. I know that I can collect this with an text entry box, but I cannot find anything on saving that text entry to a variable and referring to that variable in JavaScript on a later slide to use in the API call (it is quite possible that I am approaching this too much like a coder or getting all the terminology wrong).  Or another way that would work is if each user of a Captivate instance were assigned a unique ID and that could be accessed via JavaScript instead (as then I can just save it to our API with the phone number and ID and use the ID to send the

I am new to Captivate but used its predecessor, RoboDemo, back in the day (when it was easy and straight-froward). I need to create software demos that involve a piece of software with two distinct views (leader and follower). So I want to use a split-screen effect to display the effect of actions performed on one screen to the second screen in real time. Do I need to import and superimpose video from the second screen alongside the first screen video to produce that effect?I also want to apply changes in frame rate when appropriate to permit a longer display of key actions, as well as apply highlighting to draw attention to key actions (zooming, highlight boxes, onscreen text, etc.) I know I can use these existing features, but want to know if I can adjust the frame rate per slide (yes, I know I can cheat by simply copying/pasting additional copies of slides to extend the time the image is displayed, but I prefer to use the tools rather than apply a farmer hack).Thanks in advance!

I am using a Captivate 2019 trial to see if it will suit the needs of my school.I have created a basic project and now want to publish and share with students to see how they find it. When publishing I presume I just publish to computer and share, however this is then just showing as a blank screen when opened by others.Am I missing something? We don't use an LMS, just share files through MS SharePoint.Thanks for any help provided,Daniel.

I created a presentation in which some "next" buttons are hidden until an event video has been whatched to ensure all the important contents are seen. The problem is that when the user opens the file he can see a bottom bar with some play/stop/next buttons in the window, so all my work becomes useless.  Is there a way to not display this window bottom bar? Does it depend on the Captivate project preferences?Thank you!

We have stopped published our courses to the EXE format due to the removal of FLASH in browsers.  Is there a way, perhaps even through a 3rd party software, to take all the files created when publishing as HTML5 and package it into a single EXE?  This would simplify having  people review the course.  I believe it would also allow a course to be (easily?) loaded to a web page.  (Not in my skill set but I have been told there are challenges loading all the different components and folders of HTML5 rather than the single item of an EXE.)  We want the full interactivity of the course so publishing it as a video isn't a good solution in this case.
