Captivate

How can I create a smooth transition between slides in Adobe Captivate without losing interactivity? I’m aiming for a seamless user experience, but some of the transitions feel clunky.

I have a licensed version 2019 of Captivate. How do I discontinue and transfer the access to another company user?

Hello everyone, after working without bigger troubles for a long time, a new error occured. I am not able to create "Slide Video" or "Video" Media Blocks anymore. Everytime I click the symbol, it will crash.Copying "Slide Video" or "Video" Media Blocks from other Projects works, until the moment I try to change the source, then it also crashes. Of course this is a huge issue, as the content I am creating is often based on videos.All other Media Blocks are working without any issue. I reinstalled everything and also tried to clean preferences, as it was the solution for the last error, but it didn't help so far. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.BR,Claudio

I've been on with Captivate support for months now back and forth.  They always work hard and are very professional.  I'm on the latest version of Mac OS.  Captivatae is still so slow after tons of troubleshooting. It's basically unusable. I've been a Captivate user for over 10 years.  This needs to be fixed. 

Are all projects responsive or something I need to change? One of my projects looks good while viewing the review file on my Computer, but others say they are having to scroll from side to side. Thanks! 

I read posts about deleting an object or media blocks. None of the solutions are available for me.Can't delete using right clickCan't delete from the keyboardCan't delete from timelineDon't see any blox to uncheck in the proporties This is very frustrating. Please help!

Hey everyone,I'm using the new 2023 Captivate and running into an issue where the 'Exit Course' button is not working.I double checked in the backend that everything is set up correctly but when the course is published, you get to the end of the project and click the button nothing happens.Has anyone run into this issue with the new Captivate and found a solution? 

Hi everyone,I’ve been working in video production and motion graphics for a while, and recently I’ve started branching into the eLearning space. I’ve created a lot of animated content for training platforms, and now I’m trying to integrate my After Effects work into Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate — but it’s been tricky to figure out the best way to export the files.I used to work with an older version of Articulate Presenter years ago, but things have changed a lot since then. Has anyone successfully exported After Effects animations into Storyline or Captivate? What format and settings worked best for you to maintain smooth playback and quality?Any advice or best practices from fellow After Effects users would be amazing — thanks in advance!

Hi. My organization uses https://www.knowbe4.com/ to handle IT security courses. I developed a course and published it running v. 11.5.5 for a year or so ago. The course only consists of text and pictures and narration on each side. There are also navigation arrows (made of pictures). There is no quiz, Course report Complete when all slides are viewed. (100%)Published it according to the spec on knowbe4.:SCORM File Packages:File Type: SCORM version 2004SCORM Edition: 4thMaximum File Size: 1 GBReporting Status: Complete/Incomplete or Passed/Failed (PS! Not able to select this in Captivate)Content is included in the package and is not hosted on a third-party platform.The package only includes one language. The course worked perfectly.  I'm now on version 11.8.1.219. I have recently updated the course last week. (Just edited some text and updated the narration for those slides).Now it's not working. Hi,I am facing this issue while importing a Captivate video into Articulate. The video seems to run just fine, but without the pauses/roll-over interactions that I had provided in the file. Tried importing as HTML/swf format, but that isn't playing either. Is it possible to import the video with all the interactions that I had given? Any help with this would be appreciated.Thanks

I am working on a project in CP 2019. The issue I am having is that focus is not brought to the actual content. For example my Agenda page has a title and 3 bullet points. I can tab to my exit, back, and next buttons, but focus is never brought to the actual agenda and the bullet points. However, when I use my mouse and just hover over the area where the words are the screen reader begins to read the text. This is how it was on all of my slides. This project is not accessible to all. Attached image is just an example of what I was explaining. I would greatly appreciate any known fixes or suggestions.  

I read tthat in August 2027,  Adobe was going to stop supporting Classic Captivate. If this is the case, are there plans to make it possible to open Classic projects in the new version of Captivate. Without this capability, we will have to recreate many Classic projects, which would be extremely time consuming. And I'm sure we're not the only company that this would impact.

I am working in new Captivate with my first module and am struggling with a variable interaction. I have a quiz in 3 parts with content in between (i.e. Chap 1 - 5 quiz ?s - Chap 2 - 5 quiz?s - Chap 3 - 5 quiz?s). If a learner fails a quiz, I give them the chance to retake. The retake goes back to question 1 thru 5 and then loads chapter 2. I want to skip the content and go straight to ?s 6-10. I have added an interaction to the slide for Chap 2 content "If QuizAttemptCount >1 then go to question 6". This doesn't seem to work. Is it me or Captivate? I do have another interaction on the page that runs on a bookmark - if bookmark is reached, advance to next slide. ( which is above my quiz attempt variable). Do interactions have to appear in a certain order? I don't seem to be able to re-arrange them.Any thoughts? 

I've used the hotspot widget and changed the image to the one I needed. The image height is smaller than the default image. There is no way I can increase the image height without making it look odd like I forgot to remove the white space above and below the image. I would like to adjust the image height as per the images I use. How can I do that? Could you please shed some light on that?

Hi Captivatees! I exported project captions and contents, did some translations and imported it again. Issue: Captivate does not keep the format. E.g., Lists / Bullet Points, Bold Headings etc. are lost while importing. The Word Doc itself I reused for import does still have the orginal format. Is this a bug? Or do I do something wrong? Also, while importing captions - is there a way to adjust the voice for all captions cross slides in one step or do I need to change slide by slide? Thx. for your help!!!

Hello, I want to simulate a test using checkbox interactive components. Basically what I need is for hidden text to show under two conditions: 1. Checkbox enabled 2. Button pressed. As a result I expect that once a student picks answers they consider correct and press a button to check, they would get a unique comment for each chosen answer. A checkbox is unique for each text and button is the same for all. Screenshot is attached as example. Thank you in advance!   

Hello, My company had created several eLearning courses using Adobe Captivate 2019 (11.8.0.586) and is looking to now translate these into different languages for our employees. However, they want me to update these already created files in the newer Adobe Captivate (the new version my work is using is 12.3.0.12). They're currently saved as .cptx files and I cannot get them to open in the new version as it only seems to accept .cpt. Googling is failing me as I'm reading that it should be backwards compatible but, that doesn't appear to be the case from what I can see. Is there a way to open these files in the newer version? if there isn't a direct way to open these files, is there a way to convert them from .cptx to .cpt easily (hopefully without another paid software)? Am I doomed to redesign these training files in the new version?Also, newer version.... is there no way to just create my own slide content without being restricted to these semi-template style content slides?

hotspots cannot trigger audio when clicked. for example parts of the body. When user clicks or hovers over the hotspot, they should be able to hear the name of that part. we can have an interaction like play media for each hotspot or embedd the audio in the callout. The same can be done for all widgets and carousels. they currently have no ability to play audio

Hi,I was trying to do a simulation project in Captivate 12 and  I couldn´t.Then I tried with to do it with Captivate classic , but I don´t know how to make it responsive.For last, I did the project with Captivate classic (published in MP4 video)  and then I insert it like a Video in Captivate 12.Niether of them worked.Can you help me with this problem?

Hey hey Captivate folks!  I've created a static, non-interactive project in Captivate.  I was hoping I could publish it to YouTube and then embed the URL in my Moodle LMS.  I've combed the great wide Internets for some tutorials on this and found a healthy selection for Classic, however, I've hit a brick wall for the newer version.  Could've just taken a left turn and ended up in Albuquerque.  Complete transparency, I am working in the 12.2 release because updating has caused licensing issues within my office.  We are holding off on that update until license renewal later in the spring.  Perhaps this feature is readily accessible in the 12.5 release?  I am also aware that I can zip this non-interactive project and upload to Moodle as a SCORM package.  Just exploring my options, if any, beyond SCORM.   Thanks in advance!

Hi! I'm using the latest version of Adobe Captivate and I can't seem to find any info online and it's not very intuitive as to how to explore a captivate file to a pdf or word document. Can someone help?

I've been building a game in the all new captivate and hit an issue where an interaction isn't working. The user should be able to click on a picture and IF  value1A > 0, then it should take them to a certain slide. It is not. I have checked the variable is changing as expected. I have had someone else double check my logic to ensure it's not an error on my part. i have noticed that the interactions which don't work are on a grey background rather than white - they look different to the normal ones, but I can't work out why or how to get them back to normal. Deleting and re-creating the interaction doesn't help. I've tried different logic options. It's like it just doesn't want to activate the interaction on that object. But I can still edit and everything, it seems like it's functioning, there's no red dot, no orange triangle, it just doesn't work. any help would be appreciated - can't see any mention of the reason for grey in the support guides.

I am looking to invest in a new personal laptop that will also allow me to do side work in Captivate, photoshop, and other adobe products. I currently have an older HP that is on its last legs. I need something that will also be good for video calls, Microsoft office, and connecting to virtual desktops. Ideal for long travel as well. My budget is $2k. There needs to be enough space for the programs as well. I'm fine with using OneDrive to store files, but for example my work issued laptop (dell) is always running out is space. I'm just overwhelmed at the options and need the best advice. Thanks in advanced!

Hi all!I am trying to create an interactive video that uses question slides as the overlay slides in Captivate 12.5. I added a bookmark to trigger the overlay. However, when I pressed "Add overlay", my question slide didn't show in the section where I can choose which slide as an overlay. Is there any other way I can add my question slide as an overlay for a slide video?
