Captivate

Hello, I have set up an Expression Advanced Action to display the sum of 2 variables and it works perfectly. I now want to extend that to calculating the sum of 9 variables total. Is there a way to include all the variables in one row such as V_Sum= V_1+V_2+V_3+V_4 etc., or do I need to set up and action another way such as calculating the sums of the different actions?

I've got a fairly simple drag and drop interaction, but the drop source gets stuck on one target.I'm using Captivate 2017 and working in html5 with non-responsive project.I have only one source and four targets--one correct and three incorrect. The interaction is set to autosubmit correct answer and redrag dropped sources. I can redrag the source when it is dropped on two of the incorrect targets, but it will not redrag when dropped on the third target. I have a shared action that each incorrect target triggers. I made sure the targets are above all the other items in the timeline and the source is above all the targets. I can't find anything different between the targets that will allow redragging and the one that will not. What settings could possibly cause this?Here's a screenshot of the relevant part in captivate and then stuck in html5 preview.

Hello, I have a problem with changeState in Captivate and hope you can help me. I have 2 Images as buttons. Every button has 3 States, a normal, clicked, and done and I am trying to change the state of them. When a button is clicked so it's variable gets +1 and when you click again it get's -1. The idea is when I click on button 1 I want to check via Javascript if button 2 == 1 if yes then it should change the state to Done. Unfortuantley, it doesnt work. How can I make text entry box search for multiple specific slide names for example on a windows desktop where you can search for file name or software name and takes you to the page.  help. it's urgent  

  In my project, I'm using a TOC which allows navigation to visited slides only.  If a user fails the final exam and wishes to retake the exam, the TOC shows them already completing the exam and their score is committed, therefore, they cannot retake the exam directly, they must exit the project and restart it...  Is there a way to reset the exam results or the TOC so they can simply retake the exam without exiting the project ? Thank you

Working in Captivate 2019 and a slide does not have the camera icon but has transition screen changes that I would like to trim the video for a smoother demonstration and remove sensitive information

Captivate 2019 does a responsive project still work without using fluid boxes. Or to make it work right it needs to have fluid boxes on each slide? 

I am currently working on captivate functions for translations. For this I have also searched the forums, but find little information on how the actual translation works.The XML variant is the one that is meant for external companies with special software. But I can't imagine that there is no easy and free way to adapt the XML code to make it more readable/ translatable. It would simply be necessary to hide all irrelevant lines. Is there any experience with a working workflow.Alternatively, the export of the captions (.doc) could be used, but this is difficult to read in the relevant project due to the big font sizes. Are there perhaps also simple workflows here, which facilitate the translation work?

Can someone please help me. I have been all day at this. I am working from home using a Surface Pro and monitor for the next 3 weeks. I have had to reset my project preferences includng directing the cashe to my C drive and enabling customer workspaces. However, every time I have logged out of Captivate to save my preferences, when I re-open it, my preferences have not changed. I really can't work effectly with the Classic Workspace. I know how to undock the panels but it is just not saving the preferences and I can not move the panels. I am on a network here and can not run Captivate as Administrator.

Hello everyone, can anyone tell me, how can I import a playbar, that a customer gave me into my captivate 2019 project? The player_folder that was send by my client contains one folder (PlaybarIcons), a playbarScript.js and a playbarStyle.css file. Where do I have to copy those and then select it in captivate. Thanks for any advice!Moritz

Many of my customers have called and reported a Flash Error when trying to open the .exe files published earlier. I tried exporting today and  have the same issues. I just get a Flash Error screen (screen shot attached) 

Hello, I have been experiencing this problem for a few years. When staff take the online training, some of the staff successfully complete a module. They receive a checkmark on each slide in the TOC, and they get a completion checkmark on the course list. But then, there are others who can go through the very same module, they get a checkmark on the Thank You slide (the last slide in any module) many of the prior slides in the TOC have checkmarks, but then there are many slides that are missing checkmarks. I have to go in, starting on the Thank You slide, and using the back button, back my way up to the very first slide in the TOC in order to get the module to be marked as complete. When I back up through the module, it checks off the boxes that were missing the checkmarks. Then, when I close out the module, the course list checkmark appears. Our department uses Moodle as our LMS. It seems as if the module gets disconnected from the server. But, why would it happen for some staff

When trying to video record / system record in the Captivate 2019 trial, I get "Capture is disallowed since High-density display was detected. Please set 'DdpiAwareness = 1' AdobeCaptivate-ini and restart the application". Changing the display settings' resolution hasn't work either. Are there any other solutions out there? 

I have a project that contains 1 multiple choice quiz question. That project was originally 1280x720, but I rescaled it to 1920x1080. Next, I copied that 1 quiz question into my main project that is 1920x1080. When I preview my project from that question slide and submit the correct answer, a popup says "press y or click anywhere to continue". However, you actually must click the area above that popup to continue. Clicking on the popup or anywhere below will NOT advance the slide. How can I fix this issue?

I can see a widget under Learning Interactions but that produces a horrible white table with black column headings and, seemingly, no way to change this.   How do I create a table with a transparent background and no borders please?Also I thought "widgets" were a flash thing and therefore unlikely to work from now onwards.Best RegardsDave

I've added a play bar to my project; but one of my requirements is that a trainee cannot skip forward throughout the presentation and miss training.  They are to be permitted dragging back to review something, and forward to where they were only...Is there any way to script the playbar to only allow forward dragging if the trainee has been there before ? Much like the TOC setting of: 'Navigate Visited Sites Only' Thank you !!

While trying to update to the latest version it failed at 90% and since then when I try to download a file it says I can't as "there is no app associated with it. Please install an app or, if one already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page". Although it's installed it's not showing in that list and neither is it showing in the list of all my apps although my earlier version of Captivate 9 is displaying. I do need to keep this version as well. I tried downloading the trial version so that I could put in my software key but didn't get that option. I did though get 2 emails from Adobe saying my trial had begun! Can anyone please advise the best way for me to get back to being able to use Captivate? Everything was working fine until the failed update. Many thanks.  

Hello--I have looked pretty hard for an answer on this. Is there any way to add a "click" sound or any sound for that matter to a quiz button? I cant see aw ay to do it. Any feedback is appreciated. 

using Captivate 2019 V 11.5.1.499 to insert youtube video and it doesn't matter if I use "Media (button) / video" or interactive video, the result is the same:Captivate places a timeline element that is the duration of the videoyou cannot extend the duration of the video on the timeline, properties or edit featureeg. if a 10 second video buffers for 3 seconds before playback begins, then the last 3 seconds of the video are cut offOf course this is on slide video because Captivate won't allow youtube on Event videos. Question: how do you extend the element to allow enough time for the youtube embed to fully play?Thanks, 

I have the Quiz Settings set to Continue when the user passes the quiz. However, when the user clicks the Continue button on the Quiz Results Slide, nothing happens. I want the user to be able to continue to the next (and final!) slide in the project. The timing for the Quiz Results slide is set to be active for 7 seconds. Umm, suggestions for a fix? Thanks. This problem has been driving me nuts since I'm so close to finishing!

I am creating a Software Simulation on how to copy paste text from word into an e-mail (gmx). On the slide in Captivate everything looks fine but in the browser the text is not showing. It only happens with this one slide (see screenshots of Captivate and browser). Somebody has an idea what could be the issue??

Just started using Captivate 2019 (although I used Captivate from 2011-2015). I created a responsive project using the Aspire theme. All was well until I tried to customize the Results Master Slide to match the font, colors, etc., with the rest of the slides. Aspire theme's Results Slide comes with text: "Your Score: $$..." and "Passing Score: $$...". I got rid of that text, but part of it came back somehow. And it won't go away! Furthermore, "Type the caption text here" showed up and won't go away. (see image) I can't double-click and select the text in Filmstrip or Master view. I've deleted the fluid boxes, created new ones, inserted new blank results slides, cleared the cache and that text keeps coming back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  

Hi.Is there a way to disable the browser from prompting users to save the password that is entered in the Password TEB?Similarly, is there a way to prevent a browser from prompting users to use previously input text in a non-password TEB? (I think I read somewhere about code that could be inserted into the html file to fix this... but I cannot locate it now.)Thanks!
