Captivate

Hi Community, I have a head-scratcher. I have variables in place to indicate the path a user takes (based on a button click on the second slide of the course) that I am using to branch later in the course using a conditional advanced action. Seems simple enough...if varLaunch_[pathname] is equal to 1 then Jump to Slide X. It is not working and I have no idea why. All the tabs of the AA are set up properly and I have verified that the variables are correct using the list of variables as a debugger. Any help is appreciated. It is driving me nuts.

Hello. Can I install Captivate (desktop) in two computers if i use it only on one of them at the same time?Thank you

When I publish my 360 slides project to the computer. I open my index.html file with Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge and Chrome however I am unable to view the 360 images, it shows everything else in the project however the 360 images are black (see attached image). The only time the 360 images worked was on Microsoft Edge Legacy which I am unable to get hold of. Any help would be truly appreciated. 

I have change the setting in Project Preferences:Record:Settings/General Captions in French.

Can one slide hold more than one drag and drop interaction? I'm well aware of how there can be mutliple drag sources and multiple drop targets, but I'm specifically looking to see if there can be more than one unique type of D&D interaction on one slide.

I have a really simple project of an Interactive YouTube Video that comes with 7 overlays to emphasize the main points.  I have done this before without a problem, but now it appears the OK button on the first overlay (both a shape and interaction) causes the entire project to either stop or loop depending on the Project End Option chosen in Preferences.  I went through all the settings on my previous project and have them exactly the same. Anyone know what the problem could be?  There are no advanced actions.  The actions on the video slide are Continue on entering, same as the first project.  The button is set to Continue on the overlays. The overlay slide actions are set to Pause on enter and No Action on exit.   It looks like the setting for Project End Options is reading the first overlay button as the end. Thanks!

Captivate 2019 11.5.5.Is it possible to have a graded area (clickbox or transparent button) set to require a right click that can display failure window on failed attempts, be included in the quiz and assigned to display an object when incrrectly right clicked? ?I'm developing a training in SCORM 1.2 html5 and posting to an LMS.One slide has a click box set to require a right click. Right clicking in the area works as expected.However, right clicking out side of the click box only exposes the browser right click menu instead of  a preferred failure text box. The failure text box does appear as expected if the slide is incorrectly left clicked.I tried by covering the outside area with multiple click boxes assigned to show a window on right click, but this broke the slide and how the initial area works. I looked for a conditional advanced action, but could not find a logic for incorrectly right clicking.Any advice? Thanks.  

I have a slide with multiple video objects and multiple buttons.  Each button corresponds to a video object.  On load all video objects are hidden.  When a button is clicked, an advanced action hides all video objects (aside from the correspnding one) and shows the corresponding video object.  Since I do not have a player/skin for the video objects, when they are show, they automatically play. The issue I am having is that occasionally when the learner revisits the slide (or even the first time they visit the slide) not all video objects show and play. It is not consistent, sometimes the videos will all load, sometimes a few won't.  I don't believe it is a bandwidth or video bitrate issue.  I've tried putting the show action in the same decision block as well as a secondary decision block with no difference.  The show action is always following the hide actions.  Any thoughts? Anyone experience inconsistencies like this as well? 

Hi there, I’ve built a video object with multiple states in a responsive project, Captivate version 11.5.0. When I play the slide on a desktop, I can click custom buttons to change between video states and start different videos autoplaying. When I play the slide on a phone, the videos display as plain black or white screens and won’t play even using the video skin controls. Does anyone know why there would be a difference between the videos displaying or not, based on the screensize used to view the slide? Thanks.

Hello Everyone!  I have consistently had this issue with the Drag and Drop Interaction on the latest version of Adobe Captivate. I will set up the interaction and then when I go to test out the activity, one of the drag and drop answers does not go into the correct space. Instead it will go into another space. If I want to try to get it to the correct answer box, then I have to drag the item all the way to the corner of the screen and hope that it snaps to the correct location. If I try to have the Snap Property set to where the user can just have it stay in the location they drag it to, it will do the same thing. Has anyone else had this issue or has any idea how to solve this?  Thank you in advance! 

A few of my coworkers just installed Captivate 2019.  I'm using Captivate 2017.  Unfortunately, I'm unable to open any of their projects to collaborate or review.  I get the attached error message on every project I've tried to open from three different people using Captivate 2019.  Is there something that they need to do to make their projects compatible with Captivate 2017?  Or is there something I should do to open those projects?  To clarify, they can each open the projects without any issues. Only I am unable to open the project files.The file is not open elsewhere.  It works fine for users of CP2019, so I assume it isn't damaged (it wasn't sent as an attachment).  My hard disk has approximately 60GB of free space.  Resources are not an issue, I have 16GB RAM and I'm running Outlook and PowerPoint in addition to Captivate.Only difference, other than Captivate version, is that I'm using a Mac and the other users are using Windoze. 

I purchased a licence from Captivate and have folllowed the registration instructions to set up an account with LWS, when I click through to retreive the serial number the Deploy to ID is already filled in with, I assume, my organisation ID and recognises me as the user but no serial numbers appear when I click search, nor can I amend any of the drop down menu options, like product name. As it stands I cannot access the software I have paid for, so help required

Hi I have seen the odd post here with the same problem but no solution. I have created a very simple 360 slide in Captivate 2019 as a responsive project NOT a VR project. I check it in captivate and it works fine. I publish it and the preview after publishing works perfectly. However, when I run the index file all I see is a black background in any browser I try. 

Hello, When developing in Captivate I'm utilizing multiple fonts on a slide but when I publish it appears to make all the fonts the same size.  Additionally, on certain slides, my text boxes and smart shapes show up in different places.  I have attached screenshots to provide an example (this is a responsive project and I am using web fonts).

Captivate 2019 11.5.5.553Hi,I've recently updated from captivate 9 to 2019. There was some behavior in 9, that I was hoping would go away regarding the effects, but the same issue is occuring for me. I'm publsihing to SCORM 1.2 / html. I'm starting to think Im doing something wrong or missing somethinat everyone else knows about. Anyways, often when an effect is applied, the object will flash, then the effect takes places as scheduled. Sometimes the effect is an exit effect placed at the end of the object, but it will flash the frame before the object appears. The strange thing I'm noticiing is a project might have mutlipe objects with effects such as strech in from right. After reublish a some will have this issue and some won't, and the republish changes which objects are affected.My use case is a project with a smart shape with a collapse to right exit effect and another slide has a button with a strecth from right entreence effect. Republishing may reverse the behavior, elimin

Heya everyone, I'm trying to convert some rollover slidelets into multi-state objects so the functionality of the rollover isn't lost as a result of the Flash sunset. I already know I can put images, objects, text, and audio (attached to an object) into the rollover state that will mimic most of what I already have. I know I'm going to lose the timing aspect (the images and text would enter at specific times on the slidelet timeline that isn't possible in the rollover state. What'd I like to know is how I incorporate the viewed rollover state into advanced actions. Basically, I want to have four objects with rollover states, and I want to enforce views of all of four of them with variables/actions that determine if the Continue button will display on the screen.  Recommendations?

I am working on many legacy projects generated in Cp3, which I have converted to .cptx in Cp5.5 in order to publish them as HTML5 with Cp7. Although these HTML5 courses seem to work correctly, the title displayed by our bespoke LMS is always "index SCORM" which was not the case for those built in Cp3 (as SWF) - they are titled as per the project name. The LMS requires SCORM 1.2 courses and I've tried setting the titles and identifiers in the publishing settings, but this makes no difference. Am I missing somewhere else to name the courses? (I'm hoping not to have to buy the latest version of Captivate as all these courses will be rebuilt in a new LMS package during 2021).

We recently updated our Captivate 9 and when we go to watch a video using the Preview HTML in  Browser, it will not open.  I am using Explorer.  Thank you everyone.

Hello,I have another captivate exercise that opens in a new window. When I publish to the LMS, the behavior is the when opening the file the main course 'kicks' down to the task bar when the window opens instead of the exercise file opening in another tab. Is there another setting I should try?The browser settings (edge) allow pop ups from the LMS. Here's a picture of the settings:  

Hi, I'm building a Virtual Reality project with Captivate. It's a virtual exhibition in an artist's studio. Next to paintings and sculptures on the 360background I placed a number of hotspots which will display either images or videos. Important issue here is that the whole project is not particularly an E-learning project, rather it is simply a Virtual Reality experiment. Hence I want to get rid of those green/white ticks which are displayed once a hotspot has been clicked/gazed. I can no longer import PowerPoint into Captivate (2017). I have previously been able to do so, but it stopped working for me recently (as of yesterday). Every time I try to import a PPT (anything from 1 slide up to an entire presentation), Captivate freezes on me. I have to open my computer's Task Manager and end the Captivate task manually in order to shut it down. It will NOT respond and it does not import.Once Captivate has been shut down manually, I can reopen it and it reacts normally again...until I try to import PPT. Is anyone having the same issue or does anyone know what might be happening?

I have created a project in Captivate from PowerPoint for training purposes. It has timings, auto transitions and quizzes. How can I publish it to staff for thier use if they do not have access to Adobe Captivate and we do not have an LMS at this time. Thank you.

Hi all, I am now working on 360 slides and I am wondering if we can assign transition between slides. Basically I am now making a virtual tour and without a transition between slides, the changes are really rough. Thank you in advance
