Captivate

I am building an exam in Captivate 9, and on certain screens I need the learner to view an image.  Since my options are limited, I am using a shape with the "Open URL or file" option.This works fine when the URL contains no spaces, but when the URL has spaces Captivate inserts additional text into the URL, and then it does not work.For example, I enter this URL in Captivate, and Captivate changes it to this incorrect URL at runtime, Note that it changes the %20 to %2520, which of course does not work.Has anyone else run into this?  Adobe, is there a reason for this?Obviously the easy solution would be to remove the spaces, but I don't have access to this website.Thanks.

I am in the middle of a big project for a client wherein I need to remove anything that is not up to HTML5 specifications - and anything that is using FLASH technology. Presently, when a user rolls over a text area that reads something like "Move your mouse HERE for a hint" (the 'hot spot' being the bold/all caps word "Here"), the code displays a box elsewhere on the screen the gives the learner a 'hint' about what to do next.Obviously, to be free of Flash and totally HTML5 compliant, there can be no roll-over (hover) interactions. If I change the text to "Click or touch HERE for a Hint", how can I create an invisible object/button that - when clicked - displays another box that contains a hint such as "Right-click on the same menu as before" So - this is the same as a hint, but is triggered by a click or touch rather than a roll-over. Any help is greatly appreicated. 

I am creating a suite of internal eLearning modules for our company. We are consistantly coming up against issues using interactive slide videos when the module is being viewed on an iOS device, predominantly iPhone. I understand that Safari iOS will overlay the screen with a play button, to prevent any video from auto playing. However this play button cannot be interacted with, therefore preventing the video from being played. Currently we are being forced to use the YouTube Widget (which has its own issues) and forego any kind of interactivity within a video. EDIT: After testing, the behaviour is the same on Safari and Chrome when using the mobile site. If you request the desktop site, the overlay is removed, however none of the interactions or the playbar are then functional.    

Installed Captivate 2019 recently and it crashes after reaching the opening screen.  There seems to be solutions posted for Windows users, but I can't seem to find the right fix for Mac.  Anyone else found the workaround to this yet?Cheers!

I ran into a small problem. I have 3 different URL links that I want to include in a text box as an unordered list of links. When I preview it, all 3 links go to the same URL. It seems like the whole text box is turned into one huge link. The only way I got around it was by using a separate textbox for each link. It works, I was just wondering if there was a simpler solution. Thanx

Hi - When I try clicking "Interactive Video" and try inserting "slide video" link from vimeo, it says 100% but then sticks til I click cancel. How do you become a Captivate certified trainer? The Adobe web site doesn't offer Captivate as an option for ACE certification or any other type. I know there are people certified with Captivate.

Hey guys. I'm having issues with our serial number. I logged out of our company computer and signed in to my personal laptop (w/ permission from the company). And I keep getting this prompt that says that our serial number is in use by max allowed computers. I have read a lot of comments saying that I should've "deactivated" first before uninstalling. But there is no "deactivate" button in our Captivate app. And I have no idea what to do. And it's also telling me to deactivate the other computer in 30 days, and I have 25 days left. Back story lol: So I logged out and uninstalled the Captivate app from our company computer, and signed in on my personal laptop, and the serial number pop up box keeps showing. So I reinstalled the Captivate app and logged in again on our company pc, and the serial no. pop up box showed up also. And I have already uninstalled and logged out from my personal laptop. Hi again, I have a question today about forced navigation. I have searched the forums but I can not find anything that is specific to my situation. I have built a course where the majority of slides use custom click-to-reveal interactions that are triggered using advanced actions. It has now been requested that learners can only advance after clicking everything. I have watched a few tutorials of multistate slides, whereby a custom next button appears after clicking all the buttons. However from what I can tell, this relies on having a single object with multiple states to reveal the next button. I believe workflow is not suitable for the slides I have already designed as I typically use advanced actions to show/hide groups where the objects within have no other states (just normal). Hi, I'm finding that the timeline of interactive video gradually slides out of sync with the Captivate timeline on low bandwidth connections . Inaccurate interactive video is not worthwhile in my opinion. The video even somtimes unexpectedly jumps backwards after an overlay slide. I've confirmed the sliding behaviour by displaying the frame number in the video and the frame of the project. The slide was up to 2 seconds in a 54 second clip. The video and the project are both 30fps. The viewing platform is iphone 6 and Chrome on Windows. I found that regular slide video does not have the same problem and stays fixed to the timeline. Are you aware of this issue , are there workarounds and is it being adressed? Thanks Jorgen

I've installed Microsoft language packs but it seems that Captivate is only seeing David, Zira and Hazel. Am I missing something or are these the only ones that Captivate can retrieve?

I have been tasked with converting a .cp project done by a contractor in 2009 over to an HTML5 compliant project so I can republish the SCORM package for uploading to Moodle. I am an office admin NOT an elearning developer but I do have some technical background. I managed to convert the .cp to.cptx but when I republished to HTML5 format, the publish failed (notification said exactly that) and I couldn't find any index.html file in the published folder. Looking through the HTML Tracker, I can see that pretty much every slide has some kind of incompatible content. There are 100+ slides. The vast majority of the incompatible animations are rollover captions. The rest of them say "Text Animation Only - Image is supported". They look like interactive buttons of some kind. Is there any way at all to convert these unsupported animations without having to go slide by slide and recreate in HTML5, which we do not have the time to do right now? I discoverd that when publishing for SCORM 2004 the "success" status would never change to "failed" if the quiz's Fail option was set to "unlimited tries".This is not the case when publishing for SCORM 1.2. The LMS records a failure properly.If I set the Quiz failure to only allow 1 try and failed it, then the SCORM 2004 version would send the proper "failed" status. But I don't want a quiz with limited tries.This seems like a bug. 

I've seen other people are struggling with this one and it's giving me a real headache. Not sure if Chrismay_at_delta ever submitted the bug report but it is definitely a bug. Good afternoon all, I'm trying to create a normal 2D project that utilizes 360 slides at various intervals. The first ones I entered into the program worked without issue. Now when I add a photo, its there but blank (white screen). I can add hotspots but can't move them or edit them in anyway because they are also blank. Please help!!! Is there a limit on the number of slides that can be added?

I am using a black background in a project and upon changing the font colour of the matching options to white, it also changes the color of the text in the dropdown elements to white when publishing to HTML5 (which makes them invisible as the dropdown background is also white). I should note that this is not the case when publishing to SWF, however I am required to use HTML5. I have attempted to change styles in the object style manager as well as recolour the font to a slightly darker colour but this has no effect when published to HTML5. Are there any known workarounds?

I have created a short Quiz on captivate 8, and would like, on a failed attempt to reload this project again via a button click (with Execute Javascript Advanced Action) on the results page, which will reload the tab the user is on, restart the project from the first slide and re-randomise the questions displayed. Can this be done? Any help will be appreciated I'm currently using: window.location.reload(true);but this doesn't restart the project. The attached picture shows how i'm setting up the advanced action row. Thanks!

I have been trying to use Remediation Functionality in Adobe Captivate 2019The Quiz questions have Action Jump to a slidefor exampleQuestion 1 has Jump to Slide 8Question 2 has Jump to Slide 20Question 3 has Jump to Slide 23The Slides 8, 20, 33 has Next Buttons with Action Return to Quiz. When a user starts the course and reaches Slide 8 from Slide 7 it is supposed to go to Slide 10 but it jumps to the Quiz Slide all times skipping the rest of the course.It has been days I have been trying to figure out the issue with this behaviour.
