Captivate

We are trying to accommodate both Windows and Mac users. There are issues with both right-clicking and pressing Delete. For example, with Windows, pressing Delete deletes the character to the right. On a Mac keyboard, pressing Delete operates like the Backspace key (unless you do a Fn+Delete or Ctrl+D). We are not wanting to eliminate all Delete and right-click actions simply because they don't work. Instead, we would love to somehow allow users to either press Delete or Ctrl+D, whichever is applicable, to advance to the next slide. Is this possible? It seems I have read something about Advanced Actions, but if this is the way to go, I would need some pictures of what the Adv Action would look like to accomplish this. If someone can assist with this, you would be my hero! Thanks!

I am trying to get the x,y, width, and height of an element/object/shape in order to determine if the mousup event x, y coordinates is contained with in the bounds of the element. This will be for a drag and drop type event.

Captivate 2019.I have some content that was originally created for interactivity/SCORM use. Unfortunately, no one likes the SCORM experience in the LMS we are using, so I have to convert it to video.  This is fine since most of it is video demo in any case but I had some process slides where the learner would interact, clicking a button to reveal the next step. I used one of the Captivate asset slides as a starter so I will admit my understanding of how states are added is minimal.What I can't figure out if is there is an easy way to just show the slide in its final state without rebuilding the whole thing?  

I have an E-learning course that has multiple Flipcard advanced Actions.  I made a mistake an overwrote the existing Advanced FlipcardV3.  I've tried using the Advance action wtih the new name, but the effect isn't working.  Is there a way to get the original advanced action back?  Should I create a new Advanced Action from an existing one for every image that I want that effect?  Not sure if I'm making things worse by trying to create new actions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, IDOLProff

HI I have an issue with some quiz settings, I have given the learner 3 attempts to pass the quiz, if they fail after these 3 attempts they are sent to the begining of the course again. This works fine the first time. But when I come to redoing the learning and complete the quiz once, the button the attached advanced interaction is linked to does not advance. So to be clear it is my forth attempt when this happens. I am using Captivate 9 2019 

I am importing a PPT to Captivate 2019. I've added alt tags to the images in PPT. Once I import the PPT to Captivate, will these alt tags appear in the published Captivate file? 

I use adobe captivate last version and when I click on interactions, I get the message "not a valid widget". How can I solve this problem

I am using Captivate 2017 and has been uploaded nearly 10 videos to YouTube. Until yesterday, I faced a problem of uploading, the screen showed "JavaScript Alert-http://localhost3193" and then stop and cannot go further. Can anybody help me to fix it? Thanks

Secondly, I've got a problem and can anybody help me please: [edited]I've got a simple project for my pupils: choose the correct answer from 3 buttons.The problem is: when you click into the correct button - hold your mouse - then drag the mouse to another button - and release your mouse => it will choose a wrong answer.By script: I want my action to be happened when the event: onMouseDown (when and where you click the left mouse); meanwhile captive default event is: the action will start on event: onMouseUp (when and where you release left mouse). Example: I drag "audio button" and drop it to "con cho button", it will go to wrong action that I need. I have taken over a project for a colleague of mine and when I preview it there are three random submit buttons that show up on various slides for no apparent reason.  There is no interaction on those slides (or any other slides for that matter) that require a submit button.  They only appear for about a second then disappear.  I was able to hide one behind an image but the other is stubbornly on top of the image and I can't move it - because there is nothing on the timeline. Has anyone encountered this before?  If so - how did you remedy it?Thanks!

We have users not able to view our interactive video html5 when using IE11We are using the latest version of Captivate 2019. Our websites technical dept came back with the below:We have found the issue here. On the page they set to use IE 10 mode.Namely in this piece of HTML in the head tags: <meta http-equiv = "x-ua-compatible" content = "IE = 10"> How do we change this setting? I find that the information on settings in Captivate 2019 is either out of date or a bit scarce. Not looking for any advice requiring the whole of a goverment department to start using Chrome because while that is well meaning and I have seen that advice a lot, it isn't useful in this particular case.  Thanks in advance.

I see the option to group multiple slides together for branching (right click and select group).  What are the steps on how to branch just using one slide or how to link one slide to a button?  

In 11.5.499 after you start a new vr project, there is no center plus with "add 360 image/video" in the center of the screen? Is there supposed to be something there? Because otherwise, I do not see how you are supposed to get the 360 image onto the slide (?!)  

The Retain Text feature of  Text Entry Boxes" does not work in responsive projects. I have tried to see if I can use a variable to record the entry made and then populate the text of the box when a user returns to it, but cannot find a way to do this. Is this possible? Otherwise I will need to come up with an alternative.

Hello everyone! I am having a strange problem...I have on enter advanced action that hides text and a next button. They are then to interact with a drag and drop and the interaction hides and a text is revealed. All is working well excpet it is not hiding on enter! It seesm so simple yet its not working.. Any ideas? Thanks!! 

Hello, I am currenly using Indesign at work to make bulletins. These bulletins are converted into SCORMS for our LMS. My employer purchased Captivate 2019 for me to work more efficiently. I want to use the same template in Captivate that I used in Indesign. Can someone help me how to import a .indt template into Captivate 2019?I thank you in advance.

Hello! I'm using Captivate 2019, Version 11.5.1.499I want to use SVG icons as buttons, which should already be possible with the current version. I can select the option "Use as button" but the corresponding action is not triggered. I also noticed that my mouse won't change to the Hand Cursor, even if I select the option and I also can't hear the click sound.I do however see the change to the RollOver State. Does anyone experienced something similar and can give me some advice for a possible solution?

I have an interesting issue which I hope someone can help me with. I have set up a quiz at the end of my training. I am goving the user 3 attempts at the quiz and then if they are still unsuccessful then they are redirected to the start of the Quiz again.The issue is when I get the the slide before the quiz, the slides just lock and will not advance. I have tried everything to remedy this, (Javascript to reset the quiz attempts) Has anyone any ideas? I have tried it via my LMS and also just in preview and the same things happen. It this Captivate or me? Any help / suggestions would be much apprechiated! Thank you in advanceR

Hello,My customer likes to have restricted navigation on some slides so the learner has to click on all the items on the slide before going to the next page. I'm using the play bar for navigation. Here are the steps I took:Added user variablesAdvanced Action to increment the variable by 1 each time the button is clicked and show the hidden contentConditional action on the slide, On Enter, to show the playbar when all of the button's variable is greater or equal to 1, otherwise hide the play bar. But the conditional action is not working and the play bar remains hidden. What am I missing?

I'm so very disappointed in the 2019 vwrsion. I've been lobbying for over a year for my company to get Captivate because I used a previous version & loved it. I finally got approved for the trial version & I can't seem to do anything I previously did. I wanted to blur some sensitive information (account number) of a video. Can't do it. So I decided to cover the sensitive area with a random number, but I can't change the background of the text box to match the background of the video. My only option is to use the pre-sets, which defeats the purpose because it draws attention to the box. So unless someone has a fix for this this, I'll have to let the trial go.
