Captivate

Hi all, We've had a number of issues recently with SCORM pacakges not marking as complete when completed on our Totara LMS. (Totara is based on Moodle, and this issue seems common amongst others who use Moodle). For reference, we are using Captivate 2019 11.5.0.476 I posted on the Moodle forum and I was alerted to this support page which outlines the causes for issues with Chrome 80 and Chrome 83: https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/public/en/2876002 It seems the key issue relates to Chrome blocking Synchronous API requests. All of our SCORM packages report data to the LMS on the page being exited, but it seems like this is no longer supported by Chrome. Our only solution so far has been to switch on the setting to send data on every slide, but we are concerned about the effect on performance/pressure on the server. I have created a new blank responsive project which just has 1 slide in it.  I click on "Preview / PRoject" and get the attached error (anyone have any ideas)?  Then - when i try view the project via mobile device i get this (yes, both mobile and desktop are connected to same router):

Hi Captivate community, Maybe someone knows how to make the following: I have a text entry box where a student needs to write his thoughts about a certain topic on one slide, I need to make the answer from this box to appear on another slide.  Can somebody tell me how to do it?  Thanks in advance,Sergejs

Every time I write a caption in Hebrew for my Adobe Captivate project the order of the sentence is mess up.For example, the sentence:.היי, תראו את הבלוןWould look like this:היי, תראו את הבלון.I already changed my prefences to Indo-Arabic languages support & enable right to left languages.Is there any posibble way to solve this whithin captivate? is there any external program that might help?Thanks in advance.

I am working on removing all Flash from a course.  I have several pdf files that I need to include (not to click and open) readable on screen.  When I put the pdf in the course and I preview or upload to LMS, I get an error message that the file can't be found.  I am using Captivate 2017.  I saw a youtube video that said there were previously problems with the files not being found and even when they were in a specific folder (callee), Captivate did not find the pdf file, but, now Captivate has improved and there is no need to try to place the files in a particular place since they are now in the library which is where they should have been.  Is this something new in Captivate 2019?  Thx

I have a web application using Rustici Engine and Adobe Captivate 19 to provide LMS support to our business users. We are required to implement a strict content security policy (CSP), and our courses are failing the "script-src" directive due to Captivate's use of inline javascript and use of "eval". As a result, the courses will not launch successfully. Can anyone suggest a solution? I am NOT allowed to add "unsafe-inline" and "unsafe-eval" to the CSP directive.  Thank you.

I'm working on a Captivate project that is video based. There is a 2-3 minute video on every slide. Ideally  I would like the viewer to have the flexibility to resume from the exact point in the video where they stopped. Or atleast at the beginning of the slide where they stopped. However, even with the "Never Send Resume Data" option unchecked, the viewer is taken right back to the very beginning of the entire project. Is there any way to resolve this issue? I work with Adobe Captivate 2019 release. Thanks..

New issue- Captivate crashes out of no where. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. It just crashes. I will be working in a different Adobe product and then all the sudden it just BAM dies. Luckily, I made it a habit to save my work. I'll need to read over the error report it creates to send to Apple. Why it doesn't send it to Adobe is really weird, annoying and frustrating.

Hello! I am an advanced beginner at Captivate.  I have created a project with two slides that contain video.  The video is sourced from my local computer.  It had been orginally sourced from a Youtube url.  I chose to download it instead because when Captivate was grabbing the url there was a white screen flash (delay) for a several seconds that I could not elimate.  That said, my work around was to have the video come directly from my computer instead.  And that solved the problem.   In both scenarios though, I have a problem that I cannot resolve.  I am hoping for some guidance.  I have spent hours reading other posts and blogs with no sucessful fix yet.  On both of my video slides, the video automatically pauses by itself.  I certainly did not intentionally tell the video to do that.  Both videos pause in the same exact spot every single time - so it is not random.  The video file is not corrupted nor defecti

I just downloaded Captivate 2019 on a Mac for the trial period and when I create a new project and try to add an asset, the program just closes. Every time. Since I'm in my trial period I do not have access to Adobe tech support apparently.  Anybody have any idea why this is happening?

When is it best to use the Captivate Skin for navigation or create your own?

I am new to both responsive design and accessibility design. I was previewing my module to view the slides from desktop to smartphone. Closed Captioning was on. When viewing the slide from desktop to smartphone it appears that the closed captioning is not responsive and is moving on to the lower navigation bar. See attachment for visual. My questions:Is there a way to keep this from occurring?Is there a way to keep closed captioning on for desktop through a tablet, but to hide when a smartphone view?When it comes to best practice when is best to provide transcripts of audio as a PDF vs providing closed captioning?Thanks in advance for your help! 🙂 

Just wanted to put this out there. When I go into my Assets for some reason the Cancel button disappears or doesn't work. What I have to do is click on another tab and find a different Cancel button to close the darn window. Be sure to save your work before you go into your Assets. It's the stupidest thing. SMH Do they even bother to do a QA on this thing?

I just finished a project and all I need to do its publish the darn thing. Unforunately, there is this new Adobe Font domain thing I have encountered? I tried putting in "adobe.com" or "localhost" but that seems to do nothing.I have no idea what I should be putting in this field because I don't use any unusual fonts. I do have a subscription. All I can find in the community is about TypeKit. And no one says anything about their Captivate crashing at 4%. This is really frustrating. Thanks.

After i publish, video in the slide sometimes doesnt fully load and appears transparent. Any ideas why? 

Hello, I have several multi slide synchronized videos, each play on 1 slide. Throughout, the video will randomly pause, and you have to click the Play button in the Captivate skin to resume. How do I prevent it from pausing randomly? I want the video only to pause if the user clicks the pause button.Also, some videos play automatically when you enter the slide, while for others you have to click the Play button first. I want to have them start ONLY when you click Play.I am using Captivate 9Thanks - would appreciate any help!

I want to create a responsive captivate 2019 project for the iPad in landscape mode. The "iPad" choice in the Layout Preview drop-down menu displays width and height for portrait mode. Is there a way to set the layout preview to iPad landscape mode? I created a custom preview with a width of 960 and a height of 768, but I'm not sure that's a good solution.

In Captivate 2019, whenever you go into File, Project Info, whether you change anything or not in Preferences and irregardless if you click Cancel or OK, the Captivate does not respond and hangs up.  You have to force a shut it down.  It does not matter if it is a new or existing file.  This just started happening out of the blue.   I have Captivate 2019 v.11.5.1.499 running on a Mac OS Catalina (10.15.1).  Thanks in advance for any help.   

Does Adobe Captivate work with Desktop applications? For example, can I embedd an Adobe Capitave Quick Tour and Interactive Onboarding Checklist into our Windows Desktop application tha we develop and distribute?

Are there any resources that explain the Reviewer App and how to use it?  Can my reviewer click an area on the screen and make comments there?  Does this app even work with Capt 2017?  I downloaded the latest version I could find and it sort of worked, allowing me to make a comment, but I'd like to get my boss a copy so we can review courses without physically getting together. Thanks in advance.
