Captivate

Hi,  is anyone experiencing difficulty when using a linked Vimeo interactive video?  My vidoes are either cutting off 2 seconds before the end or looping for an extra 2 seconds or sometimes working just fine!  I'm pulling my hair out, am i missing something?   Thanks 

I was able to get my Captivate project onto a web server. Is there a way I can retrieve data that the user enters into a text entry field (such as a name) to a google sheet? I took a look at the eLearning Brothers video on how to set it up but I was not able to get it work. 

I'm new to Captivate and have a trial of Captivate 2019.  I'm investigating it to begin building training modules but have a couple questions.  Need to be able to answer these before taking my leadership through a demo of what I've already put together. How do you force the completion of the entire length of a video?  Currently in what I've created I find that the student could still fast forward during the video or jump ahead in other slides that have audio.  I want to force the completion of the content. In a Question slide or a Knowledge Check slide, if the student answers incorrectly, how do you force the student to go back a few slides to re-review the content that had already been viewed. Thanks, if you have any helpful tips or places to go for tuturials I would appreciate it.

I have created an original animated GIF using the latest version of Photoshop.I exported the file from Photoshop using:File -> Export -> Save for Web (legacy) I can preview the animated GIF in a browser, and it animates correctly. My problem is that when I import this in to Captivate (also the latest version), Captivate gives me a message that says "This file is not an animted GIF", which is of course incorrect. So I have a source file created by an Adobe product that is not be accepted by another Adobe product - (Captivate) Is this a problem w/ Captivate? Or is it a problem with my exporting technqiue?If the P'shop technique I am using to export the animated GIF is not the right one, what is the correct technique?I am using Windows 10 on a very well-provisioned setup - i5/6 cores, 32 gigs RAM, two video cards.Below is the animated GIF:

I have a drag and drop slide (not a graded quiz slide), and I see there's a way to set up the number of attempts, but no option for try again feedback after all but the last attempt. Does setting this up require incremental variables and conditional advanced actions? It seems like a basic, common thing to want to do. I'd like 3 attempts total, with a slide reset and Try Again feedback on attempts 1 and 2, and a Failure caption with the answer on attempt 3. I was trying to increment a variable when an incorrect answer is submitted, so that the 1 and 2 values sent a Try Again and a 3 value sent the Failure caption. Couldn't even get close 🙂

Hi,I'm using Adobe 9 version 9.0.0.223. Hi, I'm wondering where the url for the internal server is stored within  an exported project. Since I don't develop on the machine whose URL is configured,  I'm hoping to make, as part of a build process, perform subsitutions for this url based on the environment (development/testing/production),  Other than that everything else the build process would leave everything else as is. Also, based on the docs, it sounds like this should be http url rather than https?  If cloudfare is converting all http requests to our site to https, is this going to present any problems? And finally, is this a XMLRPC POST?  I'm trying to determine whether  I can use a service worker to avoid requiring server-side code at all.  Everything else on our site is static content, and I'd rather have client side js extract what it needs from the XML and submit that information to google firestore. - Scott

Hi,I'm a noob to Captivate, having previously worked extensively with Articulate Storyline. Within Storyline you were able to change the states of just about any object and text field very simply, including quiz options. Apparently, reading through some of these guides for Captivate that's not possible. I never accept no for an answer and I need a work around for this problem as we currently have over 40 SCORM packages with this option and now building packages in Captivate without a simple hover option will confuse our client and the participants.I've attached an image of the rollover option that's currently given. Can I change this to something more in line with my previous packages, even if it's just a simple text colour change?

We have recently moved a license for Adobe Captivate 11 to a new user and are encountering an issue where whenever the new user creates or modifies a course the other users cannot open it, however she still can. We are getting the error: Adobe Captivate could not open "File Name.cptx". Ensure that:The file is not open already.The file is not damaged. For example, if the file was an email attachment, ensure that you have decoded the file correctly.The hard disk has sufficient available space.The system has sufficient resources. To optimize the resources, close all the other open applications.The help articles that I have read about this error are troubleshooting for when the file cannot be opened by anyone. We have looked into making sure the file is not locked, the IT Admin told us that the new user would have the same version as everyone else (2019 V11.0.0.243 / August 16, 2018) and there do not appear to be any differences in the save preferences. For any new Captivate simulation that I created in Captivate 2017 when I want to publish to HTML5, I get the internal error. I have tried creating a new simulation by inserting images and creating each step without capturing and I still get the error.  I am only getting this error when I capture new or create new using images.  I can repurpose an "old" simulation by swapping out each image and I do not get the error.   

Does anyone know how to export an Adobe Captivate video file so that it can be accessed as a link on an internet web page in Google Chrome AND  that the interative buttons within the video also work. I know that I could save the video as an MP4, but if I do this, the interactive buton in the video down't work.  I didn't have this problem when we used Internet Explorer as our default browser.   Any help would be most appreciated.

I had a quick question, although the solution may not be as quick, and I may need to reach out to the support team for my company's LMS.  I figured I'd  post here, just in case I may be doing something wrong.I have this course with 4 modules, that needs updating from time to time (this year happens to be one that needs some updates).  The updates consist of minor verbiage changes and nothing to the actual modules (how they behave, etc.) themselves.  I've uploaded the revised course to our LMS and all of the modules update fine except 1.  I've attempted overwriting twice, with the same results, which is why I thought it may be something with that module.

Hi!I'm trying to publish and access a Captivate VR course on an Oculus Go. I'm just testing it right now, but it is basically a 360 video with a hotspot on top.I'm uploading it to SCORM Cloud for testing... when I fire-up the course in the Oculus, I can get it to start, and I can "enter VR" but after that everything just goes black (and eventually it loads an icon with 4 squares).Can I access Captivate VR content on an Oculus Go and have it work, or is this platform unsupported?Any help is super-appreciated!-Mike

I have a speaker in a file. These are audios. From time to time the files end up getting slower and deeper. Not every time, but every now and then. Okay, I admit it's funny too. It's spooky and fun. But of course you don't want that.

I found how to configure internal server reporting on WAMP server but not on APACHE server.There is somemone who can tell me if this is possible to get the internal server reporting on Apache? Thanks in advance 

...Hello Captivaters !...I'm still working on colorize SVGs... And found a problem that I try to solve for too long now !... So I come here, hoping for some help... if it's possible ?...The problem concerns the ability of the SVGs to be clickable only in the shape (and not in the bounding box).It appears that this ability works perfectly... but only one time.In the first example (Exemple 1), I deliberatly separate the 2 triangles. And if I try to click in the middle of them, nothing happens, as it is expected. But if I color one of the triangle, or even both of them, and I want to change this color, it appears that the bounding box becomes sensible again. And so, depending on the layer where the triangle is located, it becomes hard to color exactly what we want.I made a simple project to demonstrate this... but I just realized that we can't join cptx file here (!!!...)...So if you are interested in helping me, don't spend too much time in redoing the case, just join me on private messa

Hello,  I am working on a training module that contains a drag and drop slide, where the learner drags an object to another section of the screen, as if they are in a software application with draggable widgets (screenshots used to simulate the application).  There is only one drag source and one target on the slide.  Infinite attempts. Not reported to a Quiz.  I used a blank slide and added the D&D interactivity. Using 2019 Release 11.5.1.499 on Windows 10 The initial setup works perfectly, BUT...once the correct D&D is completed (on success action automatically goes to the next slide that shows what they would see in the application on a successful D&D), the learner can never go back and do it again as the D&D has already happened and the source is gone.  This section of the module is a part of a "practice" section, after being shown what to do.  We allow them to go back and practice as many time as they want, but the D&D, once c

After i downloaded ad installed Captivate 2019, it fails to launch with the below error messages. Help please?

Hi,We were trying to embed a streaming video (see link below) into a Catpivate project by selecting "Video -> Insert Video > Event  Video > Already deployed to a web server ....." and then copied the following link into the URL filed. When we published the project and launched it on browser, the videoplayer on that slide didn't show up and the video didn't play back.http://videoart.vo.llnwd.net/o45/unsecure/elearning/world1/01_Introduction_to_overall_program.mp4Also, we tried to use the Chrome "Developer Tools" to inspect the network, it seems this particular video wasn't on request on Page load.Does anybody have any idea on this or could tell us the correct way of embeding streaming videos into Captivate?Thanks in advance.Amy

Hi, I am using vimeo films with my captivate course, however when i publish it and view it for the first time the video cuts out 10/15 seconds before the end.  If I go back and watch the slide again it works perfectly, any idea why?   Thanks 

I have some javascript code in my project that I know workds in a html export,I tried a exe export for windows and it doesn't appear to be reading the Execute Javascript action when testing it. Execute Javascript wasn't on the popup list of items that doesn't export in a .exe fileIs there something else I'm missing that needs to be done to make it work? we'tr using captivate 2019

Hi I would like to check the solution in Developing Quiz using CP19 for 1. Option Button to be on Right Side, we can align right text but Quiz Option Buttons still remain on left side, how we cna do that.2. Hi,I would like te create an e-leanring project (Captivate 2019) and I want that it starts from the begining in fullscreen and all the other slides also in FS,  when I try to create a nomal project ( not responsive) there is no option for full screen, i have to setup the resolution and when I do it, as resuls i have the borders on right and left and a grey bar below because I have deactivated the playbar. (See pic)What i want , that the full screen is een blue.Could you help please ?Thx,Karim
