I want to add a "Rewind 30 seconds" to a slide containing a slide video.  While I have found some sample Javascript that looks like it might work, I have not been able to get it to work yet.  I saw someplace that getCurrentFrame was deprecated under Captivate 12.x.  The broader question would be, does anyone know where there is a reference manual for the objects, methods, and properties associated with the Javascript implementation in the new Captivate?  The more specific question would be if anyone has seen code that might get me in the ballpark for this "Rewind 30 seconds" Javascript.  Thank you!

I installed the new 12.4 version of my Captivate. I already had the new Captivate.  Afterwards, I got lots of cached folders on my desktop and have final versions of existing projects are missing. Please help!

Short version: courses published to HTML5 from Captivate 2019 are applying progress from one user to a different user on shared computers. This did not happen when we used these courses in the past, but it does now. The only major difference is we switched our LMS at the beginning of this year - and obviously browsers have been continuing to update. We discovered this because some users were somehow beginning in the middle of a course (like on slide 28) when they had never opened the course before. SpecificsI did some testing:I set User 1 to a new registration.I proxied in as User 1 on an InPrivate instance of Edge on a completely unrelated computer (never before used with either the LMS or course). The course started from the beginning.I progressed to slide 4 and exited the course. I exited that proxy and proxied in as User 2 in the same browser session.I launched as User 2 and was immediately taken to slide 4. I progressed to Slide 5 and exited.I exited that

Hello all,I am working on a presentation using Captivate Classic. Before anyone says to use the new one, I need the classic version for the 360 slides for this project. I am using version 11.8.3.8, using a windows 11 pro (version 22631.4169) Dell laptop. The issue I am having is that it published fine until I add audio to an advanced action. Here is the action.Conditional Tab:if Var_Fences is equal to 0Action:Show FencesIncrement Var_Fences by 1Play Audio FencesElseHide FencesStop Triggered AudioDecrement Var_Fences by 1 If I don't have the action to play the audio it is fine. But adding the audio causes the error.For the record, I used the built in text to speech option as this is a proptype version of the course for the SME's to evaluate. I'm new to the forum and didn't find a post requesting enhancements to future versions of the new Captivate.  I do like the new system but would love some editing enhancements.  For now I'll post this one which has really slowed me down when trying to adjust  timings for long video content.I would like to manually type timings for items on the timeline as we can in Classic.For example: For a video where you are placing multiple bookmarks that might have to be moved if you add a longer video in an edit, the timeline is elongated over several minutes, dragging your bookmarks with a mouse to a different location is extremely slow... editing where they are placed by simply manually typing the new starting point would be much faster than dragging things around on the timeline with the mouse.This might be able to be done already, but I haven't found it yet.Thanks!

As per title - how can I extend part of the video demo - to get extra time for the text to be displayed?   Kind of "pause / extend duration of a frame for extra 5 seconds".  

Hello, how would I move an object, lets say a button for example, to any space I want on a slide in the new adobe captivate. I want to be able to drag the button anywhere I want on the slide but it's limiting me to only specific places like the top or bottom. Im getting frustrated with the limitations in this tool, please help! 

Hi, I need to set up some points/saves every 15 minutes or so in a 1 hour video. At the moment it is not possible to reduce the length of the video.The user will watch the video via the scorm imported into moodle and I would like that after watching 20 minutes and then closing the session at the next access it will restart from the 15th minute and not from the beginning.Is there this setting in captivate?

When I create slides in Adobe Captivate and do a preview of the slides, I can click on the buttons in the preview and they work just fine.  When I add the ZIP file to a SCORM in our LMS, all the buttons work except for the Exit button so I am unable to click and exit the course.  I have to nagivate up to the left hand side and click "back" which then doesn't give me a completed course.  It's not the LMS as others work.  Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?  I even re-created the slide adding in new buttons and the Exit button still doesn't work.

Hi All, my company does not have a LMS, so needing to publish locally. Am just wondering which html file I share with users (assuming it's the index.html one), and how others have successfully gone about setting up access to this file for users - eg have you moved the file to a shared platform for access. Thanks in advance 🙂 

Subject says it all.   Captivate installs fine Login works fine I click the start free trial button and the login auth screen disappers and you see Captivate for about 5 seconds, then the login screen appears again to login.  Then start free trial.  Then login screen disappears again.  Then reappears 5 seconds later and want you to login.  It goes in a circle. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks ju3t1nz

My organization has access to licenses for Adobe Captivate 2017 and we're all switching over to Windows 11 on all new devices. Will we be able to utilize our 2017 licenses, or is it now obsolete? Will it work but with reduced functionality? Thank you!

Hi all, I have an issue where the Captivate simulation has not captured the background correctly (It only captured half the data being populated), and the following screen capture background shows one of the tabs highlighted which shouldn't be for the slide I want. To fix this I have used the slide with the wrong tab highlighted, and used an image (.png) of a clean tab that I am trying to place over the top like a sticker.It looks natural and you'd never know it what it was hiding, however if I try to right click and select 'merge with the background' then it simply deletes the image? I've looked at past forum posts and this issue stretches back to at least 2014. I've tried using some of those suggestions, such as making sure the Project Background is selected as the correct background. I've also tried saving the project and retrying, and even tried restarting Captivate. Also, if I move the image over half an inch, or anywhere else on the slide, then I can merge with bac

After the 12.4 update, every slide that requires scrolling to the bottom does not automatically begin at the top of the next slide. I do not see a feature that tells each slide to begin at the top, is there one?Example:Slide 1 = goodSlide 2 = scroll to bottom, goodSlide 3 = bad, shows at the bottom of the current scrolling slide

I have the below slide and want to make the audio continue without the user interfering until we get to the question, but when I preview it, it stops after the first person speaks. Can this be fixed? On entry, the first person speaks, and it stops; what I want to happen is that the second person says, then there is a pause, and the Narrator asks the question of the user, who then selects their choice, selecting the correct choice has a second state that congratulates them, and then moves the screen forward with an Adv Act, The incorrect answer has a second state with an explanation and returns the user to this screen to choose the correct answer, and the first process is completed.   I want to see if this can be done without making the callout buttons and adding clicks; I just want them to play until the narrator speaks. Any help is appreciated.

Hi! After uploading my course to SCORM cloud, it works fine when I open it the first time, but when relaunching it freezes and only show a grey screen. I have to delete progress in scorm cloud to be able to take the course again, but then I lose my progress. I've tried to publish in 1.2 and 2004 (v. 2/3/4) but the issue still persists. I also tried a lot of different settings according to the reporting, tried to leave out heavy material etc. What I get from the debugging is that the course don't know what to do after ending it - exit in the middle of the course or after finishing it. But that is already told in Captivates settings when publishing. So, do anyone had trouble with the relaunching part? Do anyone know about this issue? Thanks in advance

I wanted to create a question pool with Captivate version 12.x. However, when I click on the +, I don't have the option to select a random question. It ends at "Sequence." I also can't find the option to create question pools anywhere. Are there different versions or licenses?  

Adobe Captivate Classic 11.8.3.8SCORM 1.2, 3rd edition project I have a sequence of slides with training content. Then I have a quiz. If the user reaches 3 attempts and still fail, the course takes them back to the first slide for remediation (I used the technique of adding an Advanced Action on enter for the first question slide that checks which attempt it is, and if it is attempt 4 or greater, it takes them back to slide 1 of the content for review). However, I don't want the learner to be able to then jump right back to the quiz (or let's say, the slide before the quiz) in order to do their 4th attempt without reviewing the content again. I have the setting enabled that the learner can only navigate to slides already visisted. However, if they fail the quiz for the 3rd time and are sent back to the first slide, the slides they've visisted are still marked as visisted and they can use the TOC to jump back to the quiz or right before it, defeating the purpose of trying

I searched online and in the Exchange and I couldn't find anything prebuilt for free.  I have some time to dedicate to this project so I think I can do it myself, I just need a nudge in the right direction.I think it will be easy enough to create the board image and use the Click feature to turn the answers over.My question is with the scoring.  This game would be used in a group setting.  Only the game host would have a computer to click on the right answers.  Everyone else would just look at the projected image of the screen.Family Feud has two teams.  I need to do something so that the team in control of the board gets the appropriate points when they answer a question correctly.  What would be the best way to do this?  I am using Captivate 5.Thank you!

Hi All – on Captivate 12.4 I do change the voice in a caption and initiate the audio update – that crashes / shuts down Captivate. Is the size of the project an issue? It tried within a single page in a different project the same – just 2 words as caption with voice – that worked…any ideas? on Mac...
