Captivate

Hi, I have two adobe accounts, one is for Business and one for Personal, one has Captivate Subscription and the other has Lightroom/Photoshop. Everytime I use them I have the nightmare of logging in /out of accounts, is there an easier solution for this. I need the accounts to remain separate but be able to access from the same computer. Is there a simple solution I'm missing?? TIA Mark

Hi everyone, I would like to add some interactivity to the course I'm going to create. I hope Captivate will allow me to accomplish such things. Is it possible to upload a video to Captivate, add interactivity hotsposts and branching and then embed only the final video without any other slides into an LMS via HTML5 or SCORM?Are the following interactivity features supported?A user clicks an interactive button/image and an audio file previously uploaded by me is played. This is key for language course where the student needs to hear the correct pronunciation.A user clicks on a "microphone icon" which I would place on slides or inside videos in order to activate the PC's microphone and record their own voice. Then they should be able to play the recording.When I embed a course/quiz on other websites, is it possible to later edit them and have the changes automatically synced to the embedded instances or will I have to reembed the course/quiz from scratch?Regarding quizzesm is i

...Hello Captivaters !...I think I found a bug within the latest version of Captivate.It concerns D&D and occurs when we want to drag and drop an object only one time (and we don't want the object to be moved a second time).It works perfectly in older version but with the lastest one it seems that if we try a few times to drag the object we can actually drag it. And it's very problematic when we link an action with the dragging (increment a variable for example).I found this bug trying to do this. And I looked for a solution for long hours... But as I knew I did this successfully before, I try to replicate this without any success. And when I want to change the version of the old working project (2017 version) to the latest 2019, the bug was there again !...So I think it's due to the Captivate version... ?I hope the Captivate Team will make it work again soon !...😉...  

I see there's a few threads pertinent to issues with Captivate and the newest Mac OS update.  Not sure if my problem is specific to Catalina or Captivate 2019, so I thought I'd post here. I'm trying to publish a project with SCORM reporting enabled to test within an LMS. Any time I enable reporting and try to save the option, I get Mac's spinning death wheel and ultimately am left with no recourse but to force quit Captivate.  Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing the same thing or have experience with similar issues in the past? Thanks,Raf

Hi everyone,I am trying to separate the actions for the Success and Failure shapes on a drag and drop question. I need the learner to be able to go to the next slide when the success shape appears (they answered correctly) and for them to have to answer the question again when the Failure shape appears (did not answer correctly). Can that be done? If so, how? I am using Captivate 9. Thank you.

Hello everyone.  I have a course built using Captvate 9 that uses 10 question pools.  The HTML tracker shows no problems with HTML5 however, when I publish it to HTML5, it gets stuck.  If I publish to the old PDF versions (SWF), it works fine.  Dos anyone have any insight on this?Thanks!

Captivate 9 version Scorm html 5 Full Screen Video button not working in Android

When I try to type in the middle of text for a row there is crazy behavior with the cursor position. Want to finish typing the word video in the middle of this name When I type the "e" the cursor goes to the end of the text, why????  When I click in the text it takes me to the "view only" state of the text box. I really do not understand the logic of the programming that has gone into text entry of the advanced action interface. 

I imported PPT slides into Captivate. I can see all the text on the canvas but when I preview and publish the text is cutoff. 

Good morning to all, I created a few projects in Captivate and I would like to see if there is a way to run them using any of the Office 365 apps. The ideal would be to be able to create a link and distribute the link for people to interact. I do not need tracking data or scores at this time, just to be able to run the project.Would you give me a hand with this? Thank you! Carlos

Hi I'm using Captivate 2019, I want to set a text entry box to force a user to enter their name and if they omit this, then a message box to display stating that their name must be entered before they can continue. I have set up my text entry box and trxt caption box to display the message but I've been unable to get this to work. I have seen a guide to how to do this but I think it is old and some of the advanced actions look different in my version. I did manage some of it in adding an advanced action of creating if v_name is equal to v_null and Show NameIncorrect. The guide then goes to adding an expression and this is where I get stuck. The example shows rdcmdGoToFrame = rdinfoCurrentFrame - 1. I can't see rdcmdGoToFrame or rdinfoCurrentFrame in the drop down lists. Can anyone advise me please? Thanks in advanceGuy

Hello,Does anyone have any tips on how to document Advanced Actions?It is very easy to use put the actions in, but I can't see any way to put a 'Comment' or 'REM' in so that I can remember what the logic is and why I'm doing it.The Preview Action does give an overview, but to be honest its not much use.As a workaround I use the 'Continue' option to break up the lines in to logical chunks which I find makes it easier to read.Any thoughts would be welcome.Thank youPeter.

HII have CP2019 and after applying Update 11.5 (Cleared Preferences) the new Assets panel is blank. Discover option does go to the ELearning Brothers site.I have now applied the Latest Update (11.5.1.499) after Clearing Preferences and Still no assets.Uninstalled Captivate to start with a fresh install and applied the latest update and still no luck with the assets.Has anyone got a solution?A snapshot of my assets directory below.directories dated 16/08/2019 do have content except for the Directory StockCheersCraig

I deleted a slide with audio and it no longer appears in the library. But now it's been added to the next slide so that I have two audio tracks playing simultaneously. How do I fix that?

Hello all, I'm running into an issue when trying to use Advanced Actions to simulate clicking several check boxes in a Software Simulation. I have three Click Boxes, that all assign a variable (i.e. CHKBX1_On) with 1 upon Success.In my Advanced Action, I have it set to If CHKBX1_on is equal to 1, show CheckBox_1 (An image of a checked box). Else - hide CheckBox_1Now I have three check boxes that I need clicked in order to click a final click box to "select" and go to the next slide. Meaning within my Advanced Action, I have another rule thatIf  CHKBX1_on is equal to 1andIf  CHKBX2_on is equal to 1andIf  CHKBX3_on is equal to 1thenEnable ClickBox_NextelseDisable ClickBox_Next. So far this has not worked at all. Clicking any of the original 3 click boxes does not trigger the showing of the image, and I am able to click ClickBox_Next regardless of what else I have clicked. Hello,I have created an e-learning module within Captivate 2019.This module has a number of Click and Reveals, which have been created using different states.I also have the script of the storyboard incorporated into the slide notes.  I would like to share the storyboard with my colleagues who have no access to Captivate, complete with the different states, so my colleagues can see what is under the click and reveal. I have tried printing to word, using both the storyboard and the lesson handout plans, however, the different states are not revealed in this format. Is there a way to export the contents of Captivate to a program like Word, which also shows the contents of all the different states for the different objects in Captivate? 

I have published several interactive PDF's from Captivate.  I am able to view them, and so is one other person.  However, the people who really need to view the published pdf cannot.  I get them to open it in Adobe Acrobat/Reader, and it just results in a white screen.  I have sent them settings to compare with mine for Adobe Reader, and they have the same settings. How can I get them to view the .pdf?  It is the only output they can view, as we have restrictions to file types so I cannot publish as .htm.

Hi I have currently started recording some podcasts and used Adobe Prenter to record.  I am wondering if I can able to just edit the voice and save the voice component to a MP3, or is there another Adobe software that is better.     Thanks for your help. 

When we make a smart shape into a button (Use as button) Captivate creates 2 additional states (ugly states) and seems to default the Actin to Go to next slide. Is there a way to change the default settings when we create a new button? It's a lot of work to go through and customize these for a large course. Using Captivate 11.5.1 Thank you

Does anyone know of any IN PERSON Captivate training offered in Oklahoma?  

Has anyone else had issues with Slide Alt Text not reading properly when entering a slide? Up until about a month ago, Slide Alt text would always read when entering a new slide, however, recently, it has randomly stopped working with no apparent explanation. I will randomly get slides that do not read, even though the alt-text is clearly there! We are testing in Chrome, using NVDA and Chrome VOX which both exhibit the same behaviors with HTML5 output. Any ideas what is going on?

Hi,I use Captivate 2019. I've started creating some eLearnig modules (I'm a newbe) but experience a strange behaviour of text captions; I add them to my slides, all is OK, I then save and close the project. When I open it again, all text captions 'disappear'. They don't disappear entirely, just become inactive/invisible on the slide. I have to click on EVERY text instance to 'bring it back to life'. Nothing, but clicking on each text line, seems to work. Can you help me please (screengrab enclosed)?
