Hi Friends,  I have created a splash screen for my learning. It is an image and a sound clip. I want to add that to my theme. I am having difficulty getting the audio to work. Is ther a way to add audio to a slide in a theme?Cheers,Peter

I'm creating e-learning lessons with Captivate (2017 Release). They involve showing a streaming video. Since there is no widget for Vimeo videos, I'm using a Web Object with the Vimeo embed code. It works great, but here's the problem.There are two timing settings that are needed. The first is the slide duration, which I always set it to about 5 seconds longer than the video that will play. This is so the slide doesn't time out and continue the lesson before the video is finished.The second is the Timing setting for the video itself. It is set to "Display For: Rest of Slide." I've also tried setting it to a specific time that matches the time set for the slide duration.Everything is hunky-dorey unless the learner decides to pause the video. Once resumed, it gets cut short at the end because the slide timer apparently keeps running.I looked into any kind of parameters that could be included in the Vimeo embed code. Hi. I am trying to recreate the passing of variables from an iframe as discussed in this thread on this forum. I have copied the code exactly and deployed it on a server with JSON enabled. It doesn't work when it appeared to work for both of them. I get the error that cpAPIInterface is undefined. Here is the console from Firefox:Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

Problem - After I publish a Captivate 9 project as a video, the closed captioning does not display as you watch the video and listen to the audio.I think I followed the Captivate 9 instructions:1 - An audio file has been imported and saved in each slide.2 - From the Audio drop-down, I chose Audio Management3 - I chose a slide with an imported audio file and clicked the 'closed caption' button at the bottom of the screen4 - On the Closed Captioning tab, I entered three rows of text for the slide5 - I saved and closed the Slide Audio window6 - On the Advanced Audio Management window, 'Yes' now appears in the 'closed Caption' column for the slide I chose.7 - I closed the Advanced Audio Management window by clicking 'OK.'Closed captioning does not appear in the Preview.When I publish the project to my computer, Closed captioning  doesn't appear when I publish the project as a video or as HTML5 / SWF.What am I missing?

Hi there,I try to make a demo video of the program auto desk Maya and some important input is with F for focus or 1, 2 and 3 to smooth mesh. unfortunately captivate does not capture these key strokes. It only captures "shift", "alt", "Ctrl" and the Function keys. I would also need to capture Left and right mouse click and "hold&drag" or make the window of the mouse "hold&drag" function visible in the recording.how can i set the settings that it will capture alphanumeric input as well as mouse input  ?help is greatly appreciatedcheersPhil

Hi,I try to create a image button with a hover state. I can upload one image button for the Normal state but a second image for the Hover state won't work?Anyone knows the solution or is this just another bug?

Adobe Captivate Version 11.0.1 HTML5 output seems to put a quotation mark in the metadata (aka HEAD) section for no apparent reason.  Will removing this have any unexpected side effects?Given my experience with Captivate thus far, I assume this is a bug, but it's also possible I'm using it wrong.

I just bought Captivate 6.  I have some existing completed training videos that were recorded in Camtasia.  They have no quizzing.  I would like to import the video into Captivate and insert quiz slides throughout.  For example, the end user will watch the first minute of the video.  Then the video stops and the user is presented with a Question slide.  The user completes that quiz and the video resumes.  the video stops at the next Question slide.I can't figure out how to insert the Question slides in the middle of the video.   I have tried different search phrases in the forum search but can't seem to find this exact topic.  am I asking for functionality that doesn't exist?

May I ask why CP 2019 runs so darn slow? I have a circa 2015 MAC w/32Gb RAM so what gives?I am looking for recommendations on how to improve this please, thank you.PS. I repeatedly empty the cache with no noticeable improvement.

Cp 7 - I'm using a drag and drop and am triggering audio to start when the user passes/fails the interaction. How can I add closed captioning to this audio as it's not on the timeline?Thanks,Angela

Hello, I registered for Adobe Captivate Specialist Program a while back before I saw the computer specifications for the 2019 release. Now, I find myself in a bind because I do not have 16RAM (I have only 4). I can buy a laptop that has 8RAM but anything with 16 (and the other requirenents) is just out of price range right now. Does anybody know if I'll still be able to run it without the memory? I mean, if I stay away from VR will i be ok? Can some of the learning content for the certificate program be completed in a previous version of captivate so I'm not just sitting on my hands in the meantime? Thanks!

The desired action:I want the learners to select one of 4 avatars from the beginning of a module and have that avatar to display for a number of slides throughout the project.What I Tried:Created an avatar variable that changes based on the avatar that the learner selects.Created an object placeholder named 'Avatar_Placeholder.'Created an advanced action titled 'Change_Avatar_State' so that if varaible = X (for example), then change the state of Avatar_Placeholder to X.Copied and pasted the Avatar_Placeholder onto the desired slides.Added the advanced action, Change_Avatar_State to the desired slides.The Problem:The name of the object placeholder, Avatar_Placeholder, changes on each slide onto which it was pasted, meaning that I now need to go in and change the target placeholder in the advanced action for each decision for each slide. The question:Is there a way to do this without having to go into the advanced action for each slide and changing the target placeholder?

Hi, I have created a matching questions slide in Captivate 2019. However despite me checking the shuffle box under quiz, column one is not shuffling when I play a preview.Any ideas what I am doing wrong. 

Hi,I have just installed Captivate 2017 on a MacBook running macOS Sierra. When starting up, after selecting "New" then "Responsive Project" or "Blank Project", a window with "Loading Themes" or "Creating Objects" briefly appears and nothing happens.Thanks for any suggestions.Scott

Hi I'm using Captivate 9 and have recently run into a bug or something.I've created a basic slide to allow me to test some Javascript. I have the Javascript working as it should, assigned to a smart shape button.I wanted to add the code to a conditional action but when I copy and paste the Javascript in the script window inside a conditional action and select ok, then re-open the script window all the code has disappeared.It's not a massive amount, but it would be quite tedious to type from scratch. I tried typing in a bit of code and closing the script window and then re-opening it and the typed code stays in. It seems if you paste code into the script window within a conditional action it doesn't stay there.This seems really bizarre. Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Presenter 11.1's shot up in price, and now it looks like it does not include Adobe Video Express 2017 along with it, as it did before. You now have to buy that outright?Am I right? Just when you thought you'd figured out a solution...Imogen

I am using Captivate 9.0.1.320. When I select the Submit button and click the "Shortcut:" radio button, I set it as the Enter key. But when I click off the slide and come back, the shortcut change I made is no longer there. It's like it won't take any shortcut key on a Submit button. Anyone else run into this? It's happening on all question types. I even tried setting a shortcut in the Slide Master for a matching question - still doesn't work.

I recently updated the Captivate 2017 and I'm running into the issue of not finding the exported images and gifs in the exported files. Anyone know what happened to them?I'm trying to make some javascript code to play with the images. They used to export to the assets/htmlimages folder with the same names I gave them and now they're not there anymore. It's just captivate icons.

Today is my last day of my current contract. I recently created a monster project that includes at least 800 advanced interactions and 10s of variables. (I'm sure Lilybiri would have been able to shrink that number way down but the project kept mutating.) My employer wants a spreadsheet so that they can view and sort them any way they wish. I showed them the F9 function but they're old school and want everything in excel. Is there a way to do this? Time is of the essence so I appreciate any help any of y'all can provide!

I need to know how to export quiz questions from Captivate.    I can't believe that there isn't a way to do this.
