Captivate

Looking for some advice on getting responsive projects to show properly on mobile devices. I have attached a link to a blank demo presentation that will respond to my browser on my computer but when I send it for review on mobile devices it will not adjust as required. Has anyone seen this? HI.I need to install the patch for Captivate 2017 on a Mac Os system to get a bug fix.I am running Mac Os 10.16.6 and have Creative Cloud installed as well.  I also still have Captivate 9 installed. So I am wondering if it is either of those scenarios.Captivate 2017 does not show available  Updates under the Help menuI get an error about not being able to install the patch directly from a download.Any help is appreciated.Thanks.Dan

I have Typing Text recorded through a software simulation. For example, I'll have the Typing Text set to take 4 seconds in the timeline. When I preview the slide, it takes 4 seconds. When I publish the project, it takes more like 8 seconds. Its basically doubling the duration of every Typing Text in my project.I've never had this problem before and couldn't find anything about it in these forums. Other than reducing the duration in the timeline of every Typing Text in my project (basically cutting them in half and hoping that publishes to the duration I actually want), does anyone have any ideas for why this is happening or how to fix it?

Hi,I'm using Adobe Captivate 9 and included the interaction widget- Who want to be a Millionaire. I could preview the slide but when I published, the screen load and becomes blank. I can't view the interaction.Any suggestions to rectify?

Today I went to preview my course and it opens in Safari but it showed a quick glimpse of the course/player and then it went blank. The preview worked up to today so I don't know why it all of a sudden changed it's mind.

Hi,I have a cptx file that has more than 100 slides. I have grouped various slides using the Group function, each with its own unique title. The TOC shows the topics and the slides underneath and to the right. My issue is that when I preview in the browser, when I display the TOC, when I select a topic heading, the lesson won't navigate to the first slide in that topic. I have to choose the first slide within the topic. Is there a way to have the TOC jump to the first slide for any given topic? Here are the settings for the TOC.

I'm currently taking a class at Full Sail university and I don't want to use Keynote because it doesn't have quiz or timing functionality.  My professor said I could create my demo in Captivate "if" I could publish it so that he could check out interactivity without needing Captivate.  Before I begin to create my learning module in Captivate, I want to know if the html5 version would retain the interactivity such as clicking to go forward and backward and such.  Additionally, I don't want to create the project in Keynote because, this will be a live project for my small business and creating it in Keynote will lead to double work, since I'll have to recreate it in Captivate again.  Time is too precious to waste even a day at this point. David Johnson

Hello, I recorded audio on one of my Captivate 2017 slides but would like to remove it. When I pull up the audio I see the buttons Audio, Edit and Closed Caption. Both the Edit and the Closed Caption tabs are grayed out and I cannot access them. What do I need to do to delete and/or edit my narration? Thank you. Deborah

Question summary: Is there any way in Captivate (2017) either pass an object's state name either directly to a variable, or use that value directly in an if/then statement? I don't think Advanced actions are quite advanced enough for this, though there may be a way in JavaScript.OR is there a way to automatically change the state of an object as a variable changes?BackstoryCurrent method: What I usually do is create  a "state counter" variable to "track" state changes. The learner clicks a button, it switches the object to a particular state, and assigns/increments/decrements the assigned counter variable to a corresponding value. Coworker just got a new computer.  When he tries to open a project that is stored on a shared drive from Captivate it won't show that drive.  He can see the drive and connect to it from Windows.  I can connect to the drive with Captivate with my computer.  Any ideas.  I know Captivate is a desktop application.  We store projects on the shared drive and then bring them in when we are working on them.Thanks in Advance.Susan

Hi,I created an advanced action. On clicking a button, a video plays, and on clicking a cross button, it closed the video window. But I observed that, just on hovering the cross button is disappearing. I want to write an action only for the click functionality. Is there any way that I can specify 'on click' that doesn't apply to hovering over?Thanks

There are references on the boards for this problem dating back to 2012, but none of them are answered. None have a solution.Problem:When using Captivate 9 to create a video of Photoshop CS6, when I press ALT in PS, (to color pick, the default hotkey everyone uses), the cursor freezes for a full minute. Why is there a problem at all when these two software products are Adobe Products? Aren't they made to work together?Question: How to stop the ALT key from freezing in PS while using Captivate.Please help!

Our LMS provider (Cornerstone) is stating that we need to change the SCO Launch Type of our SCORM modules to new window instead of frameset to resolve issues we are experiencing, I cannot find any setting anywhere that allows me to change this. I also started opening published course files in notepad to see if I could identify the code that needs to be changed. I cannot figure that out either. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.Jason

Hello, I'm repeatedly encountering an issue where Captivate seems to insert additional, oversized fluid boxes into my layouts that cannot be deleted. Although they can be 'selected' on the the slide, they don't appear at all in the "fluid box selector" window. Resetting the slide masterdoesn't remove them and the only I thing I can do is delete the slide and start all over again!Truthfully, I've encountered various forms of 'corrupted' fluid boxes almost constantly since I started trying to work with 2017 - very often having to reset the slide and reformat or replace text/images/shapes repeatedly. I've been through the forums, but no one else appears to be reporting these issues. For what it's worth, I've been trying to use fluid box layouts on the master slides where possible.To say that making fluid boxes a workable solution in Captivate has been a struggle is an understatement. I'm well aware of their limitations and have begrudgingly accepted these, but the project now seems so fun

I have a lesson where I want the end user to only be able to click a certain amount of times on a slide before "review" is deemed necessary. For example: slide A has 2 attempts, on success slide advances (this works) after the last attempt it is supposed to jump to slide D.  Nothing happens after last attempt.I never had issues with this in other versions.  What am I missing here?I need to turn this project in by end of this week.  HELP!!!!

I need to export/print/publish all the slide notes. The Handout layout is unusable. Mamy of the slide notes are to long to fit in the cell so they are not visible.Since each cell is a separate table it is not editable without wasting a ton of time. Any other way to print out the slide notes

I have a simple yes and no slide where users read a question and select yes or no. Depending on what they select this will bring up a pop-up box with additional tips. However i have added buttons to these pop-ups (so they can move on to the next question) to close them which it does do however the buttons remain on the screen and do not seem to disappear with the pop-upsAny advice would greatly be appreciated

I don't know why but suddenly when I am working on a project in Captivate and the slide is working fine in the timeline, when I go to preview the project (or published) it will not play sound on some of my slides.It is working in the timeline, but not when I preview.I've tried adjusting my active/inactive, deleting and adding a new Typing text box, I've added space before and after the audio starts on the slide, removing the audio and generating again. I've tried clearing the cache, shutting down and restarting. My mute button is not selected and my Publish Audio Settings are checked, so I know that's not it. Hi I have an e-learning course that asks learners which department they work in which is stored as a variable in the course. Depending on what department they work in they get presented different questions. This all works perfectly when running through in one session. However when the learner leaves the e-learning and re-launches it freezes. I'm guessing this is because it doesn't know which screen to present as it hasn't recalled the variable chosen at the start of the e-learning. Is there a way around this? ThanksLisa

Hi--Just trying to save the user's slide number during a movie and reload it if the user leaves and returns. My CP files run in an iframe on a parent page with some JS functions on the parent that communicates with our database.So, when the page loads, I load the user's last viewed slide number and as the user changes changes slides, I save it with some calls to the JavaScript. Captivate 6I'm using buttons to navigate through the presentation here. Each slide is 3.1 seconds; after 3 seconds navigation buttons will appear and pause the presentation. To prevent skipping slides, I've removed the included playback controls in the theme editor thing. So during the slide, users can click on a clickbox I created to open a URL in a new window. The clickbox exists until end of slide so the it still works while the page is paused. Most of this is actually not important.The issue I'm having is this: if 'Continue Playing the Project' is checked then clicking the link while the page is paused for navigation will unpause it and advance the slide. So a user can be pushed to the next slide before they're ready. Clicking the link while this option is unchecked will pause the presentation and can prevent the navigation buttons from ever appearing. Apparently the clickbox must set state to 'pause' or 'play' and cannot simply preserve the existing state.Can anyone point me to a
