Captivate

Good day!  I recently started using Twine to help storyboard my trainings and interactive scenarios.  I was wondering if anyone else uses twine and, if so, do they ever incorporate it into their captivate course?  It's such an easy and effective way to create a scenario, that I'm hopeful there is some way to integrate the two.

We have a video embedded directly in the slide.  Randomly on certain videos if you hit the pause button, the whole slide moves forward.  We've checked and checked all settings around the video embed, and nothing seems to fix this issue. We've also tried to remove the playbar, but it looks like chrome adds it back. Any tips on fixing this bug?   If we could just remove the play bar entirely that would solve our problem, but they always just reappear.

Hello, I have currently upgraded from Captivate 8 to Captivate 2017. When I publish the project to a MP4 file, the some parts of the audio return an echo- sound track repeats itself. Has anyone come across this issue before? Please help

I have not gotten to explore the differences between version 9 and 2017 too much, but does anyone know if there is the option to scroll on an image?  What I mean is, instead of having a static page -- have something where you can scroll up and down a vertical page like looking at a website.  

Anyone know how to fix this issue? I'm using a template for my projects. I have different background pictures for each theme slide with slightly transparent colored boxes on top so that I can add text. Any idea as to why, when I publish this, it doesn't show the background picture? It only shows a solid version of the colored box. I've tried to recreate the specific slide, but it's still doing it.

Hi all. I have been following the Lynda tutorials for Captivate 5 for Mac, and I'm at the point where they are inserting animated .gif files. When I attempt to insert the image via Insert > Animation, and select the file I receive the message that "The file is not an animated GIF file", and then nothing imports to the stage.I downloaded an animated .gif from the web and tried to import that, but same result. They both open up on Photoshop fine.Can anybody help me with this issue?

Hello!We recently got a new LMS (Absorb) and I have been creating and uploading content into it using Captivate 2017. For some reason, some of the eLearnings are being marked as complete while others are not, even though they all have the same settings. Here is how I have my settings set up in Captivate 2017:eLearning Output: xAPICompletion Criteria: Slide views and /or quizI have this set up for "Slide Views" and for every eLearning have it set to where it should mark as complete when every slide (minus one) is viewed. The reason being is that the last slide is a static one linking to additional documentation that people don't have to view.Success Criteria: I have this disabled since there are no quizzes built in Captivate (they are built all within the LMS directly).Interaction Data: This is checked.Advanced: "Send Data On Every Slide" and "Escape Version and Session ID" are checked.Each eLearning also contains click boxes but I have the scoring disabled on all of them as we just wan

Hello,I am having trouble disabling the 'Click Anywhere to advance' functionality of my SCORM Quiz.  My client wants a simple button that allows for advancing upon clicking, but I can't seem to figure out how to disable the 'click anywhere' function.  I assume that it is a click box, but I cant determine where it is or how to remove it.Thanks!

I've created slides and placed larger text on them, but a majority of the text is 22pt. Some slides have more text than others. I then set the minimum font size to 20pt (since that is the highest it will go). The larger text scales down, but so does the 22pt text. Slides with more text scale smaller than ones with less text. All of it is scaling down, the 22pt looks closer to 14pt or smaller. I've checked the settings on each slide . They are all set to 20pt minimum. It makes the mobile layout look stupid  with one slide with small text, the next with fairly large text, back to small... ugh! I don't want to turn off the scaling, because the larger headings won't scale then.

Is it possible to blocked or restrict to jumped to another slide? 

HI,  I am using Adobe Captivate 2017, we don't have an LMS.  As a work around I thought I could use the Certificate Widget, that users could print out when they have passed the quiz at the end of the module, However, I am unable to get the certificate to print the user name.  I have a name input field at the beginning of the module, but I'm not sure what variable to use so it is on the certificate.  It is printing the date, the score, and have the name of the module entered on the Widget, but just can't get a name.  Can anyone please help with this.

Hi,I made a drop and drag activity in Captivate 2017 on a laptop running windows.  I went in to Quiz Preferences and selected Moodle and changed the Identifier to imsmanifest and published.  I upload ed the zip file into Moodle but when I preview the activity it is just a blank grey page.  I checked it in the Storm Cloud and it works perfectly.  I know there was a previous thread on this but I didn't see a solution.  Any ideas??

I using GIFT files and importing questions into a random question exam. When I do this I have some formatting issues. It looks like after the 1st 2 answer choices there is an indent in the remaining answer choices. It also appears the spacing is slightly off after the 3rd answer choice. I am also curious to know if I can change the default answer height. Viewing other posts it seems like the solution to an answer that contains too many characters such that it 'wraps' to a new line is to manually edit the test once it is generated. Because this is a random generated exam this can not be done? Is there a way around this?I read something about editing the HTML template? Is that possible?

I have users that are using Captivate 2017 on their Macbooks.  But just recently some of their projects (only ones that don't have a quiz slide) have been having issues with loading properly in Safari.  They reported that they can hear audio and see the background but the content and images won't appear.  They are running High Sierra 10.13.6 and Captivate 2017 (version 10.0 - probably needs updated but it was working about two weeks ago). The only work around that was found was to add a quiz slide then paste it behind the final slide so that the user can't see it then it would work in Safari.

I found an old message on this bard about using states and advanced actions to create 2 different failure/1 pass messages after a quiz but have some more questions. To set things up here is what I need to do. I am creating a quiz where an individual will have 2 chance to pass. I want to have one message show up if they pass the exam, one message if they fail the first attempt (allowing them to retake the quiz or exit to review material in other modules) and a third message telling them what to do if they fail a second time (and exit the quiz). My file only contains 2 non-quiz slides there is no need to link to anything else.I used Lilybiri directions to create the 3 messages using states and advanced actions. What I need help with now, is figuring out the Quiz Preferences settings or another way to generate the appropriate buttons. Not sure if these setting are right or if I need to do something else. Slide 3 is the first question slide.

I have worked with many different types of assets over the years in the industry, so I am quite confident at optimising images, video and audio for web. However one aspect which I am not very familiar with is how to get the best performance out of Captivate. For example, when I have used 2D and 3D engines in the past there was documentation available on what particular features were performance heavy. For example certain script functions were marked as use only if absolutely necessary, there was guidance on max image file size, max poly count etcThis is only my assumption, but I am guessing that Captivate works in a similar fashion, in that it has a collection of assets and functionality on how these assets work together. It would be very helpful to have some sort of list of things to look at to try to optimize what Captivate does with the assets. For example are certain animations more performance heavier than others, are certain tracking settings heavier than others and so on. I have

Hello Captivate Experts,I am making a Captivate (2017) project on how to use a new software in our company. I have made a few introductory slides with a character, speech bubbles and office photos in the background, and then recorded some process flows from the new system. To make it look more advanced, I  would like to reduce the size  of the screens of the software simulations only, that is slides 4-20, keep the character as a teller, pointing to the screen with the software simulation every now and then. Of course I would like to keep the size of the slides 1-3 and 21-24 as it is (1280*720).Is this possible?Thank you,Bernadett

Greetings, I am interested in creating a Knowledge Check that is similar in functionality to the one detailed in the link below. I do not know what software/technology was used to create the training. I have a our captive projects hosted on our internal web server using IIS8.5.  The project run fines and when I post the quiz results it says it was successful.  However, the results are not saved anywhere.  I have double checked the reporting preference setup and it is point to the correct server and internalServerReporting.php file.Any help with getting the quiz reporting to work with IIS, is greatly appreciated.

Is there anyway to make multiple images scrollable in Captivate, if not how can I make images scrollable and insert it into Captivate?

Hi - I would like to insert video into a Captivate project, and put text captions around it  some of which appear at different times. I  have obtained a lot of help from various articles on this forum, thank you, and successfully met my criteria by inserting a CPVC slide. The only problem is that I don't wan the video aspect pf th eslide to be in the middle. I'd like to move it to the side and add text captions on the other side. Any ideas?

Hi,I've used a playbar with the print button for my project. When I go through the slides and try to print the first slide that works absolutely fine. However, when I then try to print another slide from the project it will print previously opened slide. I then have to close the preview and click on the print button again for it to open the current slide that I want to print. Has anyone had a similar issue?Thank you

Hi all,I have a problem with the advanced actions in Captivate 2017 and Windows 10. I'm triyng to duplicate an action but deleting a tab, but when a return to this new action saved, the content is blank. I have read an answer about this item, but deleting the preferences on the workspace folder is not working for me. Any idea?
