Captivate

I'm updating an older course (I'm using Classic Captivate version 11.8.1 on a PC, but the file was probably created in 2017). There is one slide that has 18(!) click and reveal buttons, where you click a button with a topic heading and it reveals text about the topic. Each button uses an advanced action that hides all the other text on the slide and shows the text associated with the clicked button. I saw that many of the buttons were erroneously advancing to the next slide rather than revealing text. I looked at the advanced actions for them and saw that "continue" was one of the actions included, along with 17 "hide" text actions and one "show" text action. When I deleted "continue" that solved the problems for most of the buttons, but there are 2 buttons, right next to each other, that now (seemingly randomly) occasionally advance to the next slide when you click on them rather than revealing text. I had been working with Captivate 2019 release 3. After a pair of months not using it I checked for updates and found that there was a release 5. I did the update but since then it hasn't been working properly. If I click to Create a new project (Blank project, VR project, From PPT or Responsive project) it doesn't create one. Not even from the menu File > New ProjectWhen I open one of my previous projects it has happened a pair of times that after a while the programme closes suddenly with an error message (I don't have a screenshot).I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it again. I check the updates and says there is no update needed. The problem is still the same. Could anyone throw some light there? Any explanation can help.FYI - My OS is Windows10.

Hi there i am trying to figure out how to flip the image so that the image gows to the right eb text to the left but in the same design option so it keeps the same dimensions. but i cannot find it. is the option there?  

Just what the title said, it's nuts that I can upload an SVG into an 'icon' component, but not as an image. The usage case would be that the SVG is much smaller as lineart and displays better than PNGs.  

Hello,I am having issues with the Bullet and Numbered Lists not resizing and aligning properly in Cp12. Is this a know bug?  Any workarounds?  I tried to adjust the size but no avail, still not properly aligned.

HiI am running the latest version of captivate classicI have a next button running "for rest of project"When I try to hide it on certain slides using the hide script on "on enter" it do not work.Tried disable script also. Same thing. Not working.New bug or...?

We’ve been using Captivate Classic’s Common Javascript interface for years now, mostly to capture variable values and put them in our own custom datastore. We are running into an issue with new Captivate for input fields. It doesn’t appear that the event "CPAPI_VARIABLEVALUECHANGED" is firing for input fields, or at least we have not found a way to configure the field and/or interactions in such a way to make that occur. In Classic captivate this just worked with text boxes, and in new Captivate radio groups, checkbox and dropdown work great.With the $$varName$$ syntax on the slide we can see that new Captivate knows what the variable value is, however it doesn’t seem to dispatch the variable value changed event.We’re wondering if anyone else has run into this issue, and if so how was it resolved?Thank you

Have a user who 'accidentally' cleared the cache folder in the preferences trying to speed up the program, now NONE of their files will run. (jsut has the loading circle spin for over an hour on a 10mb file.) Their actual document folder was untouched, only the cache folder was deleted.  Captivate still opens and seemingly works when you create a new project, but it won't open any of the files created in it previous to the cache being cleared.  Captivate 12.1.0.16 on MacOS Ventura 13.5.2 I'm going to try a re-install and see if that helps. 

So I have produced a lot of captivate modules over the last two years but in the last week the when I preview the last couple of modules, the odd slide in each one wont auto play, I have to press play on that slide.  Not sure why.  It was one slide in one module I completed and two slides in this one.  Any thoughts?

I'm using the latest version 2023 and on a particular slide's image media block, missing the "alignment and spacing" and "image responsive behavior" in the visual propersties inspector panel. Also can't seem to copy it or manipulate it beyond what's shown in image below. Is this me or a system error?  

I need to create a slide that will show a box with an itemized list and a button.(Akin to a powerpoint slide) by pressing the button, the list will add one item after the other until the list is complete.Then the next button press continues to the next slide.My approach is multi state (each state is one more item on the list).A. Is there an easier way?B. Is it best done using an advanced action with:if "state" equals "list full" then "continue"?How do I get the state as a variable...? I cannot remember.C. Can I use the same button to continue once the list is complete?Thank you in advance!

Sorry if this was posted already...   I noticed the "Preview Next Slides" option was still available in the preferences, so I started wondering if Adobe just removed the Preview Next X Slides menu and the (built-in) Preview menu--but not the features.   Sure enough, using the F10 and F4 keys still brought up the built-in previews. Handy for quick checks of the work and not having to render the entire project to view something in the browser.

When I tried to copy paste the arabic text or import the translated word document the captivate only shows the text left to right.Kindly suggest how to fix this one. Thanks in advance. 

Hello everybody,We need to produce an e-learning course in several languages. Neo speech provides some languages but no german voice.I need 2 female and 2 male voices. Or at least 1 female voice.I considered buying a voice pack at another company. I found out about 3 companies.Do they work as integrated voices inside captivate?Here are the companys I found out:http://www.cereproc.comhttp://www.acapela-group.com/http://www.ivona.com Is it right, that when they have MS SAPI, then it would work?Because we have thousand of changes, it is not possible to record audio in a studio and it is also not comfortable to generate the voices on a stand alone tool.Are there other companies for this?Thanks in advance for you response!Best regards,Janet

We have a team using the same version of Captivate (listed in the subject line) and some of the team members are experiencing problems with the audio cutting out on published mp4 files several seconds into the video. All of our settings match. Is there any known issues that are documented somehwere that can help us resolve?  Thanks in advance!

Good morning -I've created a quiz project that uses pool questions.  When I originally created the project, the slides with the pool questions appeared in a window at the bottom of the screen (where "timeline" is) and I could see the slides in sort of a "filmstrip" view at the bottom of the screen.  Now, when I open Question Pool Manager, I see the slides at the bottom for a second or two, but they disappear and go back to timeline.  This window then appears with a list of the questions.  If I want to review or change one of the question slides, I have to choose it from this window.  Is there a way for me to get the question slides to display in the bottom of the page again so that I can use that to scroll through the slides more easily?Thank you. 

I have created a exam paper in Adobe captivate. This is added on our e-learning platform. However, I want the answers entered into the exam paper to be automatically emailed to me once submitted on the E-learning platform. How can I go about this as some of the questions are essay based? Any help will be much apprecaited.  Thank you

I followed the directions from this Adobe post, created a CSV file for my multiple choice quiz with options A, B, C, and D. I was able to import most the questions in my CSV file. However, all multiple choice questions that have D as the correct answer fail to import with the error message: "Number of correct answers must be at least one." See report below. The final answer D is correctly asterisked so I don't see what the issue is. Has anyone else encountered this issue? How did you resolve it? 

Hi! I need help with the new Captivate version, please. I want to add a "Click to Reveal" widget to a quiz. Please note that I'm an adult education instructor and I'm not a computer expert. On a help page (https://helpx.adobe.com/mt/captivate/help/add-click-reveal-captivate-project.html) towards the bottom of the page under the section "Add an Overlay," Step 4 says: "The Include in quiz checkbox in the Reporting section enables you to include the widget in a quiz so that you can report the quiz results on a Learning Management System (LMS)." So I know what I want to do is possible. I'm just having a problem doing it. The problem is that I need to choose something on the slide in order to bring up the "Reporting" section and the "Include in Quiz" checkbox. Hi, My employer requires IPADs to be used by learners to complete eLearning on our LMS. The eLearning works perfectly on the laptop but on the IPAD I'm having quite a few issues, timeline is out out of sync on the IPAD and there's quite a bit of glitching. Just wondering if anyone has encountered issues on the IPAD and what they did to rectify the issues. Many thanks

Building a Tab slide, and on each tab, I would like a video instead of the image.  Possible?

I'd love to make a course that scrolls vertically rather than slide by slide, but I have a video to play before each section and it appears you can only add a single video per slide? Any idea what is going on here?

Usually, when I insert animatedt gifs via "media" --> "Animation, it works fine. Just yesterday I had the problem, that the gif would'nt show in the preview anymore. I get the Loading-Button all the time, but the gif is not showing.  So I wanted to know, if my older projects are still working. I tried another one that I've finished yesterday and the animation worked fine. Then I tried another one from the day before and I got the error, that the animation cannot be displayed in html5. I'm usind captivate 11.8.2 on windows
