What is the current procedure for publishing and reviewing Captivate modules with stakeholders? Best, Steve

Hey guys. I am using Adobe Captivate 10 and I am having the following problem. I want to create an interactive game for youngsters how to learn to use the Internet in a safe way.  My idea is to create a quiz and if a person answers correct (the answers are the buttons in blue) the girl which u see in the picture moves in the green part and if the answer is wrong  - to the red one and one of the shields disappears. The girl, net and shields are elements which duration is till the end of the project. When I am on slide 1 and and I give my answer the girl is moving in the right way, But when I continue on the second slide the pictures goes on position 0 - so the movement which was made the previous slide stays only in the first slide and has no effect for the second one. Which is my problem cause I want it to be on the position where it was moved after giving the answer on the first slide. After having problems with HTML5 files not loading in Internet Explorer in Cornerstone, I asked Cornerstone to look at one of my HTML5 published zip files. The issue I was having with this particular file was that the course wouldn't load in Internet Explorer but would load in any other browser. They found that there was an error message with the DoFinish command.I did some digging and found that since the file SCORM_utilities.js wasn't being referenced in the index_SCORM.html file that Cornerstone wasn't loading the SCORM_utilities.js file at all. I added the line <script type='text/javascript' src="SCORM_utilities.js"></script> in the header section of my index_SCORM.html file and was able to open the file correctly in Cornerstone. I also found that having this in my index file also fixed other problems I was having in Cornerstone with swf published files not working correctly, such as the close/exit button of the playbar being non-functional.You can modify the default ht

In Captivate 11.8, how do I convert a .cpvc file to an MP4 file?

Hi there! Just about to start my Adobe Captivate Cert course and come across an issue straight away... just wondering if this is known or 'normal' On the course, we are instructed to create a new blank project... once it created, the instuctor has one blank side with 'click to insert title' and then proceeds to select a theme which is automatically applied to the existing slide (themes change, background applied etc) on mine, i select blank project and then get 3 different areas every time (ive opened timeline to show this) and when i select a theme, nothing really happens (the background does not change etc although i believe the 'Theme' is applied and visible on 'view master slides') Anyone come across this and know whats going on? ive attached a pic so you can hopefully see what i mean Many thanks,Rob

Need some desperate help for a Sunday Noon delivery.  I am experiencing very brief white flashes between some of the screens in my exported project. How do I get rid of this!?Here are the details.Captivate 9.Exported for most recent version of Flash, and HTMLPlaying back a project published locally (C drive). No transitions set for any slides in the project.  No flashing seen between slides that are static slides Quick white flash seen on playback between slides that were both recorded in movie mode (captivate split up the movie mode recording into 6 second screens)All slides set to auto play the next slide.Preloader % is set to 100.

How do I keep students from advancing until the audio on the slide has completed?Or able to set a minimum time for them to spend on a slide if it doesn't have audio?TIA,Susan

Hello,       The problem is that i created my recordings in 1024 x764 using the Windows operating system and my client is using a project which has a max of 1024 x 764.  So when they play the video, they can't see the controls on the bottom.  The only keyboard shortcut i know of is "Enter", which closes the video and does not help too much.  Does anyone know any others?  I have tried many combinations.  I found that if you hit tab key, you can use the arrow keys to atleast see the pop ups of each control.  However, for some reason, the videos are being cut off a little on the bottom and i am unable to see the words on those pop up menu controls.Any information would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks,Dan

Hello,I am a very new user to Captivate and the learning curve has been steep but I think I am finally ready to publish my project. The problem is, I have several slides that modify my font to the point that it is unreadible once I publish or view the project. Pictures attached to show that the font looks fine on the screen when I am working on it, but once it is previewed or published it changes, almost like it is being squished together. Help?Also, for reference this project is a PowerPoint presentation that I imported. I have read plenty of articles that suggest you should just create the project starting with captivate, but I didn't do that and I specifically bought capitvate because they marketed that they can take a powerpoint presentation and turn it into an elearning module, which is what I am trying to do. Most of the other slides look fine, but a handful of them are doing this when publishing and I don't know how ti fix it. Thanks in advance for any advice!-Katrina

Hello! We have SCORM modules uploaded to Moodle and some of our users using the Safari browser on their new Macbooks have had an issue with our multiple choice questions. They can rollover each choice selection and a highlight is shown, however when they click to select their choice, the bubble doesn't show the tick mark to indicate it has been selected (it should have a dark blue circle). If the user clicks the submit button, the question is still being scored and all other interactions are working as intended. Below is an image of what it looks like when the user hovers over the correct answer and clicks. The circle does not change to reflect their selection.Myself and my team have tested this on our Windows computers in different browers without any problems. The one person on staff who has a Mac has an older model and hasn't been able to recreate the problem in Safari. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar and has an idea to what may be causing it. Thank y

I am trying to create a a custom toggle bar and I have added a next button to the first slide and in the timing I picked "rest of project". I want the user to click all available buttons on slide 2 of my filmstrip. I created advanced actions for that but I can't apply it to the button on slide two because it doesn't let me select. I can only select it on slide 1. Do I need to create a new button for each slide in order to apply an advance action to it? Or is there a way to apply this advance action only on the slides I choose? Because I want to do this for several slides, not all of them but several and I don't know how I can do that if I can only access those buttons on the first slide. I can see them throughout the course but I can't edit them unless I am in slide 1. Does anyone know how to do this? If it's even possible? thanks!

I need a global timer that starts counting down at the appearance of a certain slide.The timer should be shown on several slides.On one slide (the "home" slide), several clickable images should appear, depending on the remaining time on the timer.But, I can't find a timer in the widget directory of my newly installed version 2019 Release (11.8.0.710).Please help!

We have a project that the slides won't advance.  There aren't any click boxes or other objects on the slides besides the submit button on the one question slide at the end.

Good afternoon I need to decide between Adobe Captivate for Teams vs Adobe Captivate for Enterprise licenses for my company. I am not getting any substantial material to indicate the differences. I have logged a call with Adobe, but also have had no feedback from them. Are there any links available to compare Adobe Captivate for Teams to Adobe Captivate for Enterprise? Is it just a different license, or are the functional differences? Regards

I have the slide timing set to 1 second (the least I could set) and the slide Actions to Pause (on enter) and No Action on exit. When viewing online you have to click the advance arrow twice before it will advance to the next slide.Any suggestions to avoid having to click twice?Many thanks!

Hi Captivate Community! I am trying to disable drag source items after they are matched with the correct drop target items.Has anyone found a way to do this? I'm tried the disable command (on the drag source name) with both advanced actions and with JavaScript to no avail. Thanks for any help!

Hi there,I´am quite new to captivate and started to love and to hate it 😄 currently I´am struggeling with the rollover state of my button. I have designed an own button which is setup as a button-style in the Object-Style-Manager.The button is working, but the rollover does have the wrong size - but I cannot adjust the size of the rollover:It should be the same size as the blue icon in the normal state.The original orange does have the same dimension as the blue:When I am back in the state menu - the rollover size is locked:How can I set the rollover picture size to the correct dimensions?Thanks in advance

Captivate Version- 2019 release - 11.8.0586 I have a MP4 video as introduction to my project. Imported the new video to Captivate first slide.In Preview, the video plays. But After Publishing as mp4 video, the  inserted video does NOT play. It is showing a loading sign and audio is playing. Captivate Video Properties:Slide videoProgressive DownloadVideo file name is without space (ltc.mp4) I am only playing the published file on my local drive.  No LMS involved @ this point.i want to publish this project only  as a video (mp4).  

It seems there are duplicate areas to enter project information:1: Edit > Preferences > Project > Informationand2: Project > Table of Contents > ...Info (small button)Note item 1 is titled Project info at the top of the dialog box, and item 2 is titled TOC Info at the top of the dialog box.  Is there a reason why a few items exists in both places?They both have entries for Email, Website, and Description.  The other entries are unique.  Do these relate to the output manifest in some way?   Thank you!

So maybe this started with the new Chrome update, but my HTML5 publication is stuck infinitely at the loading screen. Works perfectly though for Edge, Firefox etc. Is it me or is anyone else affected? I have seen users face similar but I am 99% sure this is not due to any local setting/security enforcement. Console logs reveal that the resources are not being loaded. What gives?

I developed some elearn on Captivate 8. It has been working well until recently. My iPad won't play sound on slides. It does play the sound on videos that are hosted outside of Captivate, but the sound on a slide isn't playing. This has worked in the past. The last post I could find on this from 2017. Any additional information? 

Hello,I have a fresh install of Adobe Captivate 2019 on Windows 11. This is my first project. I'm trying to compare Adobe Captivate with what I have been using Storyline 360.I am trying to preview a project by selecting Preview> Next 5 slides. I get this error message: "Swf compilation failed. Note: Please verify if any of the actionscript keywords is used as user variable name." I initially had my cache, publish, and video folders set to the defaults which included OneDrive which I know can cause problems. I've changed the location of each of these three folders to C:\Adobe Captivate Cache, C:\Adobe Captivate Publish, and C:\Adobe Captivate Working. I've exited and restarted. I still get the error on a brand new blank project with one or five slides. I've tried both. Please help I've spent hours just trying to troubleshoot the preview function!
