There are so many great things about CH and yet so many terrible things! Rapidly becoming a deal breaker for me is the fact that when you're trying to do anything that involves the equivalent of keyframing (eg record 1 or 2-frame take in CH) you can't see the current state of the puppet if it's armed!Sure, you can drag the playhead to see it but when you let go of the playhead it reverts to the default pose, which makes it incredibly difficult to set dragger postions accurately. How are we meant to work like this!!?If anyone has any tips for getting around this I'd be very grateful...
Hi there! I tried to export a PNG sequence from my project in Character Animator but I'm thinking it isn't working because at the end of the process all I get is one .xml, one png file called name of the project_4423.png, one .json file and a wav file with nothing in it. Even so, I tried to import this PNG file in After Effects but all I got was one blank frame and nothing else. My project is kind of big. I have 6 characters playing a song. It's a band composed by a lead singer, a drummer, a guitar player, a bass player, a xylophone player and a cat. The whole thing is 02;27 minutes long. I also tried the Dynamic link but that didn't work as well. After a while I got a prompt from AE telling me it couldn't establish a link with the dynamic server. Can someone out there point what I'm doing wrong? I'm novice at this, until now I only exported my CH porojects via Media Encoder. Thanks!
I'm Livestreaming with my puppet using a Midi Keyboard next to my own to run its triggers. However It would really help my live stream to have some of my triggers connected to footpedals. Actual MIDI footpedals are expensive so I purchased a set of OLLGEN USB footpedals https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M9TXWV2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Which supposedly support MIDI keys, but for whatever reason Adobe Character animator isn't picking them up (When I set up the MIDI keys there it says it needs to paired with other software so that whole MIDI Key thing advertise is a bit SUS in my opinion) But thats offtopic. I'm curious if anyone else who uses character animator knows a way to set up USB footpedals to be recognized as MIDI tools so they can trigger Character animator? If there is some third party software or driver that can convert them would be helpful. Thanks.
I did my first real work in Character Animator over the weekend at home. Brought project into work and have saved on company server; but project somehow seems linked to some file or folder on the thumb drive I transfered project with. Even though I have transfered every file on that thumb drive to server and repeated saved every Animator option for 'save' to server; every time I eject thumb and try to work off server, project 'breaks'. Is there an Animator way or workaround to 'collect' a project like in After Effects, or another way I can break this link.PLUS just wondering why Animator seems so slow and CPU intensive? I work on a pretty beefed up iMac but this is like working with some of the most complex 3D projects I've ever undertaken. I created a 1800x1800 psd puppet because I wanted to zoom way in on face. My Animator project scene is 2000x2000 and the results worked perfect when I rendered puppet and imported in AE just as I had planned. Just a lot of spinning beach ball betwee
I have one query about the puppet is there any way i keep it to the last position i animate and recorded EXAMPLE : if i move his hand and record and then stop it goes the actual puppet position is there anyway to show me the same position as i had recorded so its easy for me to set the next best position of the hand
So I have a rig in photoshop and I have a head group and two body groups. I set up a Swap Set for the Body groups, to trigger a change of pose. But obviously, the Head group wouldn't automatically know where the neck moved in the swapped drawing. So naturally, I want the Head group to move to a new position when the Body groups swap. My question is, can I get the Head group to move to different positions depending on what Body group is currently visible?
Hi, I'm using Character Animate for the first time. Can someone help me understand why the head isn't moving when I have it on scene? The webcam and microphone works.
is there anyway to change the interace color?
WHAT TO DO FOR THIS PROBLEM OPENGL WITHOUT GRAPHICS CARD .. PLEASE HELP
Was spending the long weekend working on a big project and suddenly this morning I got this libgit 2 error about a missing object. I was saving this project to my CC folder, thinking that would give me less problems than saving to Dropbox, but seems like no dice. Is there any way to salvage my project so I don't have to redo dozens of hours of work? The odb.sqlite3 and objects folder exist. Also is there any way of making sure this doesn't happen again in the future? Is saving locally the only way to prevent this?
So I'll post samples here but it's a general problem for me. the Jaw movement feature just never works for me period. I have relatively complex puppets otherwise and I mostly understand the layer structure needs so far. I'm using the 'new' thing where the head is in a "frontal" group to get better head rotation now. Then there are 5 heads in there for turning (on this puppet). no matter what I do, on any of my puppets the basic jaw movement never responds right. In this case the puppets' middle three heads has a "back hair" behind the head which also sometimes warps depending on independence. I've tried every conbination of independence or non-independence and it makes no difference. left profile head somehow accidentally almost moves correctly but even if I duplicate the structure exactly on the right profile head it doesn't work. The jaw moves but it acts as if there is some kind of pin in the chin so it moves but the lower chin doesnt go down, it's warping around somethi
Hi i currently have a image with a puppet holding a toothpick in his mouth i want his hand to grap the toothpic away from the mouth i am using magnets but it is not working

In Adobe Character Animator I notice my Characters are moving real slow. So I tested with Chad or else but these Characters are slow speed. Then I see my Project is running on 1 FPS and I don't know how to change the FPS setting or else I should click. The Tutorials are running on normal 24 FPS.For example, I have Chad for the Picture and I marked my problem with a red circle.
Goes right to the app. I'd like to open some of the templates to follow tutorials and get a ahead start maybe. Any help is appriciated!
Hi, I've create a puppet in Illustrator and Placed a logo across the puppet's chest. When I File, Save and go back to Animator, the logo shows on the puppet in Rig, but not in Record. The logo was a PNG file. Hope you can help.M.
I have a puppet that I want to do a "squat" action. I'm not sure if I've rigged it incorrectly, but currently I've only managed to animate the legs "squatting" with the head and body staying static. How can I make the head/body move with the legs without keyframing the actual position of the character? For a bit more context, the character isn't human and so the anatomy is a bit complicated, which is easily where I could have gone wrong.
I want to use a fading appearance/disappearance of a character, but it looks like this: instead of like this: The second picture is using a png file. Thanks!
By placing the joints on the puppet's arm, it causes an elasticity that I am unable to resolve. If anyone can help me, I will be immensely grateful.Ps: i'm brazilian and the text was done in google translator, sorry if there is an english error.
What are those weak lines in the lip sync?
I wanted to make it so that the legs bend so my character can sit down. I did it but whenever I record the recording changes it so that legs are going the wrong direction. Please help.
I have to make 2 characters dance. In the provided artwork, they are already dancing. Before I waste the time to rig this, Is this going to work?Character stills attached.
Hi guys I am using the Robot template in Ch the one walking constantly to the right..Now I have made my own arms legs torso etc in photoshop and they are working perfectly fine..However the new arm I have created isn't staying fixed to the shoulder on the torso. Its swaying slightly left and right (sliding across) the torso.I have used the pin tool (fixed handle) where the arm meets the shoulder torso but its still sliding left and right around that area..How do I make it fixed to the body and allow it to move with the body as opposed to slipping across.Cheers.
When i open my puppet on character animator, then press open original so the puppet can open in photoshop, photoshop freezez on me now....the puppet still works good in Character Animator....why?
