I worked for some days now to do the lip sync. and it started to look very good. today i opened it and discovered it Unsynchronized anymore. Seems like all the line went forward. but it is not easy to fix because i have 5 puppets and it happened in them all. so i went back in the history until it was ok. started to work and it happened again! fixed it, and again! and again! what can cause it to happen? it happened when i just worked on the lip sync.
I noticed my exported videos were looking a bit fuzzy on export. So I looked through the forums and saw the suggestion to try render as Vector. But when I did that it looks like it has removed the stroke fill from my line art. Looking for any solutions. Thanks!
Working on my first puppet. I got my first issue fixed and now I have a whole bunch of new ones. First when I wave it warps his whole body. Second he now has a bunch of rigging issues that the system picked up but I have no idea how to fix them. Some include his mouth movement which is driving me nuts. I used "Blank" as my template and moved things around from there to fit my character. Any help would be appreciated. I attached my puppets file, hopefully you all can open it and look at him.
Hello everyone,This is my first time making a puppet. I followed the video and frequently checked to make sure everything was working and it was coming a long great. The last things I added where the nose, hair and eyebrows and when I went to check to make sure it was all working my eyes are all over the scene and my eyebrows move all over as well. I'm not sure how to share things so you all can see my puppet and how he is put together but if someone can walk me through that I will get those posted. Thank you in advance.
Faced such a problem. When dragging the wrist, the elbow can stretch / contract (even if the arm stretch is 0) It doesn't look pretty when the forearm gets shorter than the distance from the elbow to the wrist
I was following the YT video on how to do head turns (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1wbw6-7zM4&t=169s) and I got stuck when the face became all messed up when I move some layers into a new group called +Frontal as per the video. I uploaded a copy of the working puppet here: https://ln2.sync.com/dl/dcfa23190/2xk8c7ji-nb2tfy7i-hbugi588-nes47u6g as we can't upload puppet files here. The original puppet works as intended and there are no rigging issues. As soon as I try to move face layers into "+Frontal", everything becomes messed up. I think the reason for this is that in AI, you create a layer which gathers other layers, whereas in PS, you create a folder (new group) that messes up the puppet structure. So I tried a lot of combinations with AI and PS creating a new +Frontal folder. Original "blank" using the AI file = no issueOriginal "blank" using the PS file = broken face"mypuppet", based on "blank", in PS format = same broken face Any point in
I'm not sure if anyone else experiences this, but everytime I try and load in my Character Animator project into After Effects it just doesn't load, it just show the black screen background and the Transform Controls, but the character isn't in the Transform Controls. Any solutions?
Hi there,Since the import into After Effects via dynamic link is as bitmap - does a high quality setting in Character Animator (i.e. 400%) improve the quality of the puppets in the final export? I tested exporting two characters at different quality settings and coud not make out any difference.I'm fairly new to Character Animator and After Effects. For my project I have multpile puppets importet to AE via dynamic link. From my understanding the quality setting in CA impacts the rendering time in AE. If the output quality wouldn't be improved/affected it would make sense to use a lower setting in order to make rendering quicker. Thanks in advance
Hello,I'm trying to follow along with video, Limb IK (Adobe Character Animator Tutorial) Oct2020 but when I go to record mode pieces just stay where they are. I don't know if the limbs are too short? stubby? mesh looks good.trying, but getting frustrated.. have two more characters to do
Hi, I would like to import an existing video and animate the puppet with it instead of recording in real time with my camera. Is that possible? Thanks! 🙂
I have (tried to) rigged this puppet in the same way as June is, who is able to squat by dragging in the handle where the neck is. however, it seems as if a part of the shirt/body is fixed or stuck or something and does not follow the body. The weird thing is that it initially worked, but when I got the limb IK working on the legs (I failed to have a capital L on Leg on the layers in the Illustrator-file hehe), it suddenly got wonky like this 😕😕 This is my first puppet. It has all different profiles except for looking up/down, including different bodies. Also, I am aware that I have some rigging issues regarding the speaking/mouth and eye gaze which I have not yet addressed in case I have to redo alot due to this issue. I have allready tried to:restart character, restart illustrator, restart computer.trouble shoot the rigging with the "issues" button. remove the "handle fixer" behaviour (although issues said it was not assigned any handles) Please help!&n
My puppet is mooving like a stick- all together from head to fit without seperation. How can i fix it?
Hi all, The puppet was working allright until I added the head turns. At that point, the head started to disconnect form the neck. Here is the psd puppet file, would appreciate any help! Thanks dear forum! For some reason this forum wont accept the puppet file. exported form C.A....
why this note is appearing again and again? it can be 10 times in a second
Is there any way to export position data of something within CA to After Effects? I have a character carrying a torch as they walk, and I want to link a few different layers in it to illuminate my background, but having a helluva time tracking the position in AE. Was hoping there's a simple way to do this.
Hello, Does Character animator have a stock of brackgrounds? If so, where can I find them and add them to the video? If not, is there a way to add backgrounds? Or.. could I record the puppet with a transparent background and then drop him in a video editing sofwatre to add a background and other items to the video?
Hi community! I noticed the Wilk.psd file Dave Werner created has layer names that include text like (n!) and (3!) that automatically create keyboard triggers when importing the PSD file into Character Animator. However, these triggers are all unlatched. Is there a way to create automatic latched triggers using similar layer name text directly in Photoshop? Thanks!Tim
Hi All, Also wanted to add, with my character applied new eyebrows in photoshop (just straight rectangle ones). The eyebrows do not move when I change the raised or lowered eyebrow tilt strength in the puppet track behaviours pnael. In fact nothing in the Face option moves when I play around with the strength percentages. Thank you,
Hi, I'm currently working on a windows 10 pc and I've been unable to advance work on my project because I frequently encounter the following two errors: 1.- The following error codes: Error code:(container.js:343) Error code:(engine.js:747) Error code:(bootstrap.js:3)The first part of the error message is usually different but the error codes are the same. 2.- This other error that says something along the lines of "Error parsing properties list from file C...CharacterAnimator/2.0/WorkspacesV11/SavedWorkspaces/UserWorkspace_1.xml" or other file numbers,The errors prevent the scene from loading, I can acces the rig screen but I'm unable to see the changes I make because I can't watch the scene.I would greatly appreciate all your help! Thanks in advance!
Hello, I have been told that some companies that make and sell CA puppets, include a version of CA that is for performaning only. How do they get that? How can I get that?
I'm using puppets from Okay Samurai. When I change the color of layers in PS, CA does show that it is updating the artwork, but the changes do not show up. I've even deleted layers, such as the nose and eyebrows, but they are still on the characters. Any ideas? Windows 10, CA and PS are up to date, btw.Additional info: I'm working with Kaufman today, and he can walk left and right. When he stops, he turns back to the right. I want him to face left, and have done everything I can think of to flip him around. No dice.
Total newbie here so thanks in advance for your patience and support. I'll be quick. I have an adult special needs child who has dreamed for YEARS of animating his own drawings. He's not capable of learning the software himself, so that's where I come in. I've got years of exp. with Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop and just enough After Effects to get basic projects done, so I figure Adobe Animate and Character Animator are great places for me to start. My question is this: can I import my son's character drawings into Photoshop (some examples attached to this post) and use those to create original puppets for CA? I've tried to find the answer to this online, but no luck. The online tutorials I've seen thus far all point to creating original puppets IN Photoshop vs. importing drawings for that purpose. I'm guessing if this would work, I'd need to import his drawings, then somehow identify elements from that to then rig in CA? Should I start with CA or Animate? But I'm not sure how thi
What can be the reason that the audio clip levels on my timeline are saddenly reset to zero? what should i do??
From last december the flash-plugin is no longer supported. How come ANIMATOR continues to publish SWF files. Why,? Since the work produced cant even be watched on my own computer?
In my rigging issue it says My Ah and D and E and all other pronunciations isn't assigned to any behaviours..but I made sure its setup the same way as the "blank" template puppet...Can anyone help?
