I want to take a title made in illustrator, import it, and animate it similar to a movie title so it scales from small to big. How is this done? Which tools do I need to look into?thanks.
Hello, I'm new to character animator and have recently attempted creating a puppet. I've followed many tutorials and I have at least managed to have the body working the way I want it to. However, I keep having a repeated issue. I started off the puppet with the head, rigged the eyes as best I could but I encountered an issue which I fixed when reading another discussion on this forum. Once I start with the body, the same thing seemed to happen; anything I added, despite not having any relation (example the arm or leg), affected the eyes or left them without movement, which meant I had to go back and fix them multiple times. In my most recent attempt in fixing the eyes, they now have little to no movement, with camera, keyboard or mouse. Ive fixed the tags best as I could, the layer structure doesn't seem to be the problem (though I could be wrong), tried clipping masks but nothing. I figured it was time to ask for some help as I am very stuck and time limited. If an
Hi, So I'm new to Ch, and I'm trying to figure out how my character's upper arm stays behind the torso, while his forearm moves in front of the torso, and then have them move in tandem. And to make things even harder on myself, the hand layer needs to be on top of the forearm layer. I've scoured the interwebs and have yet to see this addressed. Any help is much appreciated.
Hi, I'm trying to set up the walk cycle for my character...Unfortunately I'm not seeing a "Shoulder" option on the tag stick figure mode or in tab mode. I'm only seeing one Hip option and not two possibilities like in the walking video example.Am I doing something incorrect or is it no longer an option now? Also, my arm settings go wildly upward
Hello wonderful people! So, do you think there's a way to trigger breathing? like in "auto-breathing" but without "auto"? I wish to have him make a sigh or something triggerable and don't know if it's a more simple method than arming and disarming auto-breathe at the exact same moment.. Thank you
I want to create a Character Animator video for 1920x1080. I am creating titles and artwork in Illustrator.1. Should I make the artboards 1920x1080 for titles and other artwork that will be imported into a 1920x1080 Character Animator file, or does it not matter? Can a title that only takes up a small portion of a 1920x1080 size that is made in Illustrator be sized up or down in Character Animator, or is that a bad idea?2. Does Character Animator keep the Illustrator file as vector or does it convert it to bitmap on import? Thanks.
After upgrading to Ch 2019, Ch cannot access my MacBook Pro camera. I either get an error pop-up stating the error or "waiting for camera" in the Ch camera display field. My Mac programs (FaceTime, Photo Booth) can access the camera and work fine. Microphone works. Any ideas?
I have added the handles and sticks to the legs but the puppet walk awkwardly. He extends his rear leg when walking left. What should i do to adjust it?
Hello,I have a puppet in my scene and I have used the lip sync feature to sync the mouth to my pre-recored dialogue. It works great. However, I want to record eyebrow movements as a separate "track" using the camera input. When I do that it makes my character have an an open mouth and my default is closed. There are no lip sync cues recorded during the times when there is no dialogue. How can I prevent this? I set all of the controls in the face section to zero, with the exception of the tree eyebrow related items. What am I missing? Thanks,Troy
Hello everyone. I've been following CA since beta but just recently made serious attempts to complete my character.(I lowered the camera strength several times from 100% and it still gives me issues)I am having great difficulty trying to get the eyes to function correctly. I'm not sure if the origins of the location have something to do with it, but a lot of them were not where they should be? Here's an exampleThe right pupil is by the nose. I've tried to adjust them and put them back in its correct place but I'm not sure if it's causing some type of problems for me. Part of me wants to think its the art style, but I dunno. Here is the layer structure, tell me if I'm doing anything wrong(or right)and in photoshopThanks in advance!
Hey Guys,I am trying to record a scene with my puppet. Everything works fine if I'm testing out triggers and camera movements. However when I attempt play back any of my recordings, the app stops responding for a good 10 seconds for each action I try to attempt (IE adjusting trigger timings etc). I have unchecked the "red button" on all things I do not need, however it is still running extremely slow. Any tips on how I can help it to move faster? Thank you! Nic
Hello I would like to know if there is a way to put your own icon into the trigger control panel? Because most of my triggers don't have any icons so it is hard to know visulaly what button triggers what.
Hello, I searched and could not find anything on this:I'd like to quickly be able to change the skin colour on characters, by e.g setting hex colour a variable which would be applied to the relevant body parts. Is there any way to accomplish this (my illustrator file has too many layers to do this quickly).
Hey there, I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong. The problem is the following:I used the Chloe Illustrator example file and built my character on it (deleted the Chloe parts). Everything works fine except the eye behavoir. I wanted the head to be scaling a lot, so I set the "Head Scale Strength" to 100 which looks pretty good, but the pupils are not scaling with the head. The eyeballs are scaling though, but the pupils look really big when the head is scaled down and they look very tiny when the head is scaled up. I put a plus sign before each pupil in the AI file, so I can record eye movement in Character Animator. If I delete the plus sign, the pupils are scaling correctly, but in this case they're fixed and the eye movement doesn't work. So I basically need a solution to achieve both: moving eyes that are still scaling when the head does. The weird thing about this is that I achieved this with another puppet which I set up in the exact same way. I took the AI
Hi all,I'm very new to Character Animator and have attempted to make my own puppet. I made my puppet in Photoshop and then exported it to Animator. I'm running into an issue where when I try to record, the face of my puppet becomes extremely distorted. Does anyone know what is causing this? I haven't even gotten to moving body parts other than the face and am already discouraged. As far as I can tell, all the tags are in the correct positions. And the layer hierarchy should be correct as I used the Adobe Chloe puppet as a guide on how to organize my layers. I am grateful for any help or advice. Thanks in advance. Again, I'm a newbie...so be gentle. Ha ha.I've attached images to show what's happening. The first image (in white) is what the puppet should look like. The other images are what's happening when I try to record.
Hi there, so yesterday I started installing the cc suite on a new windows machine (transferring from an old Mac). At first I was comfortably working on Ch when it started crashing. After a while, I couldnt open my projects because it couldnt find a "repo.index" file, saying if the "file is located on a server please download it to local machine". So I did that to no avail. Later I decided to just start a new project and Importing a file was OK, but as soon as I clicked on RIG mode, Pfff! disappeared. Kept trying a few times and nothing. I even disabled my webcam just to see it could be causing some issues but nah. All the other Adobe apps work fine, illustrator, AE, Premiere, etc. I am a freelance animator and this is costing me. Any help highly appreciated.
Are there any Character Animator pre-made puppets available in Adobe Stock? I tried looking but couldn't find any. If there aren't, are there any plans for adding any? Thx.
Since the new update...I seem to have to reboot my PC every time I want to load CH. It doesn't give me any error or do anything if I try to open it as user or admin. Does not even seem to try to open the program. This is from both start menu and Adobe creative cloud app
Hi,I, hope you are well! Today, I updated After Effects today and tonight I imported a character animator project across and it said an error message, Audio conforming failed media cache preferences. I am unsure if it has to do with the update or not but, i cant work out how to correct this issue. Can you please assist me with this? Thanks so much! Michelle
I watched the Adobe tutorial on magnets on YouTube, but I have yet to have any success with it. I followed the project to a tee, but it doesn't seem to work--so, I must be missing something. I created a collide layer (that is basically acting as the "table" for the hat to rest on--it's a copy and paste of the character's forehead so it's perfectly masked, yet technically visible), the object is tagged with Collide, Dynamic, Magnet and I have a trigger magnet hand (as shown in the Adobe video) tagged as Draggable, Magnet. Can anyone help me understand why my magnetic objects keep sliding after I move them? (See video link, below.) When I move the hand away, I tried triggering the hand back to non-magnet status as well as just leaving as a magnetic hand, but it's the same result. I've been struggling with this for hours and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'd greatly appreciate any help. :O)https://www.dropbox.com/s/v6vs04g8jggy73z/Liz%20P
I created a character on Adobe illustrator and put it in the Program, then I make the rig but when I go to the scene an create one, it just freezes. I have tried with the samples and it does the same. After restarting the software several times, some times it kind of works but then again if I make a change on the Rig. it Freezes again.I'm using a Macbook Pro 2018 13 inch, 4 thunderbolt3 ports with macOS Mojave 8gb RAM And Adobe Character animator CC 2019.
Hi, I'm using adobe character animator and I need to know how to create two different scenes, as currently when I try and create a second scene it brings everything over from the first. I need to know how to edit one scene without changing the other, as currently if I create a new scene and do something to it, it changes all other scenes.
This is a weird one. I have been following the Animation Workflow Character Animator tutorial (it's GREAT!) but I just hit a snag. I am trying to have the mouth shapes become available when I hit a trigger. One of them fouls up. When I touch the number 3 it should smile but when I touch 3 the mouth disappears - unless I smile. How do I correct?
timeline had like .5 second delay playing scene. I was trying to do lipsync and got frustrated. I set puppet quality to draft and now I can't get it to play whatsoever. please help! SEE VIDEOCH timeline refuses to play - YouTube
Greetings! Im having an issue with character animator- when I try to import my psd file in charter animator, I get this error message and I'm not sure what it means. The psd file is 21 MB. The character I created was originally created in Illustrator, however the file a very large file with tons of gradient effects and layers so I decided to bring in all of my assets into photoshop so that I could rasterize the assets and scale it down. The illustrator puppet worked fine in character animator prior to my converting , but it ran super slow because the illustrator file was over 300 MB. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions , I would greatly appreciate it.Best,Lauren
