Hello CA team, I really love and enjoy your product by the way, but today I am having some issues. I just set up all 7 head turns in Photoshop and added the Head Turner behavior in CA, but when I turn my head, my character does too, but only his eyes and nose show, not the actual face. The front view works fine, but all the other views just dont show the face and the layers on photoshop are visible. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks,SH
imported my own character into character animator but i cant edit it in photoshop or illustrator editing files doesnt appear like in the tutotrial, im new to this and woulg like to replace stannie with my own drawing thats semimetrically perfect how do i replace or copy and passte if editing tools and layers tags doesnt appear as in the tutorial
Hi, is it possible to do co-tagging of visemes/mouth shapes? Example: The viseme "surprised" works well once I make a "fish-mouth" expression. This viseme is triggered by this expression, and, loads perfectly. Now I wanted to add a "surprised" graphic for the eyes, too. I added that layer group, named and tagged it "surprised", told it to "hide others in group" so as to replace the old eyes with a surprised look but that didn't seem to work. _______A similar addition of features would be nice for "smile", or, in fact, any viseme, also for the ones that are audio-controlled. Like, say, I have a very characteristic "Ee" and I want some facial features to match it, then it would be nice to simply tag those features "Ee", like the viseme, and thereby triggering all of it at the same time as soon as anyone says "Ee" into the mic. ___________But, like I said, that didn't work. Am I missing on something or is it rather a "feature request"?
I'm creating a character that has a big bushy dangly beard. I plan on putting a bunch of dangles on different pieces of it. But I also need it to move up and down with with the mouth. I'm using a regular mouth, not a nutcracker. So, here are the options as I see it (and I'm not happy with any of them):1. create duplicates of the beard on every mouth layer. My concern here is that processing may get heavy. Also, (assuming the dangle settings on each onstance are identical) would the dangle movement match exactly from frame to frame, or would they all be moving randomly on their own?2. put a nutcracker behavior on the beard. I don't like this option because it may not match up exactly with what's happening with the viseme mouth. and i may end up with unexpected overlaps and such.Any thoughts on this?
why is it freezing up at startup?everytime adobe updates it seems to have the same issues.
Hi there,Ch animator went really slow, playing 30 frames animations down to 1.5 frames, and researching the problem I came a cross with this kernel task that uses up to 700% of the CPU (shown in the activity monitor). Normally stays around 19%. I tried different solutions (turning off behaviours and things alike) and nothing worked. I use an early 2015 15" retina macbook pro plugged to an Apple Cinema Display (thunderbolt). The funny thing is when I disconnected the display to use only the laptop, the kernel task went to normal. Has any one come across this issue? Is it Ch animator or I should contact Apple? Apparently dropbox (I have it in an external drive) also makes the kernel task go crazy.Cheers to all,Carlos
Hi!I have done this character that i try to use in a project of mine. But i have some difficulties that i just can´t figure out if that can be handled as the program works today. I have had this problem with other characters i set up, but that was not so complexed like this one is, had just one body. And that time i felt it worked with just moving the Body pin and character pin down to the feets. But this time it just don´t work and i don´t know if i spend hours and hours on something that not just want work?I have problems with the pivot for the character, cant find out why it rotate around. The character moves even if i plant the feets when going to animate. And when i have the character in profile the mouth disappear even if it´s there in the layers.Hope there is some helping answer to get her, i have looked frue ale the tutorials videos i think to see if i have missed something, and tried out different things. But now i am stuck i think Best Regards Sara
Based off the okay Samurai Dec 2016 Tips & Tricks video, that was excellent. It works excellently even recording wide and tight parent groups with audio being recorded off the mic. When I use the "Compute lip sync from scene audio" the lips only move on the default parent group even though on recording, I kept changing triggering between my tight and wide parent groups. The final recorded video shows only the lips moving on my default- the wide, but while the head movement records on both, the lips don't move on the tight. I want to add my backgrounds in AE but need the wide and tight shots in one take so that the body/face/eyes gaze are uniform between the shots. Is there a way around this?
I can't control the character's mouth movement, correctly.I think this tool only support alphabet pronunciation like English, Spanish, German, etc.Is it right?I hope just it is a bug. Happy new year!
I'm not sure if this is something that is handled in Illustrator or in Character Animator. When I raise my puppet's right hand, her body disconnects from her head which stays in place smiling at me. It's a bit disconcerting. How does one make sure the two parts stay connected?

We noticed the other day, during the Adobe Character Animator live feed on youtube, lots of people asking how to stream the puppet out, to overlay onto games, videos, etc. Even those who had found OBS seemed not to know how to get transparency so that your puppet can be overlayed on top of other footage. So we put this video together quickly to show how it can be doneThe other issue we found that people has with OBS, is a lag between the audio and the lip syncing on your puppet. Again, there is a solution for this, and we have a video for that too
It is difficult to move components like arms and hands to a specific position and back during recording without keyframing them prior to starting the recording session. Anyone got any tricks for this?
How can I get a warp independent object from stretching when using a draggable handle? For instance, let's say I have a forefinger that I want to move independently of the hand using a draggable handle (pivot point at the base of the finger, handle placed at the tip), but I don't want its length to stretch at all. It's okay if it "bends" left and right at midfinger, like a knuckle. I just don't want it to stretch beyond the height value that I gave it in AI. How can I accomplish this? Here is a screenshot of the problem.
Is there a feature that I can do show live performance on Second monitor while controlling the puppet on a main monitor?
Please help. He is visualised but just disappeared. he is not behind anyone and I NEED HELP QUICK.
Hello, did I dream this or did I hear or read that it is possible to control two draggers at the same time with a tablet pc? For, say, moving the arms around intuitively while talking…? I can't seem to find s.th. about it in the online-manual.Or is that s.th. that'll come up in a future version? Thank you, Stefan
I would like to pay someone to help me create my puppet fro use in ACA CC.I have most of the parts made, just can't get around to bringing it all together inside ACA.Please let me know if you can help.
I have a character with a frying pan as an extension of his arm. I have him shaking the pan, but need the food in the pan to shift around and then get flung into the air and caught back in the pan. I am trying to figure out if there is a way I can drag individual particles (different pieces of food) while recording to make this action. Any pointers would be so very appreciated!
Using a "Making Your First Character" tutorial (by Okay Samurai) as a guide, I rigorously followed the instructions for rigging the eyebrows and pupils for a simple test character, then tested the character several times. The eyebrows and pupils won't respond, even with the parts labelled and assigned correctly (I think) in the puppet panel; and even with facial recognition having no problem in the camera window. Can someone please tell me why these parts don't respond? I am attaching a screenshot of the setup in the puppet panel. Yes, this is how I dress at 11:44 am when I'm working on Adobe projects. And, yes, I will still have my robe on until 3 p.m.Also, as a test, I opened the Wilk character provided as a download in the tutorial, and the eyebrows and pupils worked fine in that setup.
I haven't been able to find any hardware specs required for Character Animator. Are there any details posted yet? If not, is there a minimum required resolution, camera's or camera features to look for or avoid?I'm also not finding any hardware specs. I realize this is a beta so maybe not available but would appreciate some recommendations. I'm finding my 3 year old system is a bit slow, especially for preview and rendering, and trying to determine if small upgrades or hardware replacement are needed.Currently usingWindows 8.1i7 3.6 Pentium8GB Ram720 Nvida 1GB DDR3 Ram VideoI've already have 8GB RAM on order, and considering a swapping in a 740 GT SC with 4GB DDR3 if I can find one used ( most video I think I can manage in this without adding cooling and more power supply. Hoping too that the cuda cores and extra DDR3 will give this machine enough performance to run this and AE better. Thanks in advance?Message was edited by: Johnathan Ross Added other hardware specs/ related que
Hello,I have a problem regarding eye movement control (Independent Mouse Control). As long as my character stays motionless (or slight movements) there is no problem, but as soon as the movement of my character becomes more dynamic it is impossible to control the eyes. Sadly they adapt to the movement in a wrong way.To be more specific. For example: I want my character to look at a object (a TV) the whole time. First I record the camera movement without the eyes. Afterwards I record the eyes with the mouse. But if the movements of the character are to dynamic the eyes adapt to them and I am not able to focus the object. Is there a way to focus an object with the eyes regardless of the movement of the character? The eyes should move independently from the body movement and should not lose their position because of the current character position.I show you an example. In the video you can see that I am not able to focus the tv properly.Szene – Tvshow hintergrund.mp4 - Google Drive
