take a look at my current puppet. My issue is with the pupils. I've been reading other discussions with similar problems but i'm not sure you've responded quite accurate enough for my own issue. I also am using a more anime- based eye (non-circular w/ detailed iris) Which could possibly be the reason why but I didn't wanna go thru any more editing until I have an answer for sure. The eye brows move decently. but the pupils have NO boundaries. I read that OKAY Samurai mentioned adding an invisible box in the eye layer to set parameters but idk if i want to get that detailed. I just want a basic starting template so i can start creating this cartoon series. Thanks for the help in advance Team!Dropbox - Character Ani

Hi, my apologies if other had brought this up already but since I couldn't find it in the Forum, I figured I'll start this Thread and see if anyone can help.Sometime when I made changes in the main Illustrator File (say I add a new arms), when i switched to Character Animator, it just position some of my layers weird in some random position. Here's a screen shot of the file in Illustrator Here's what it looked like in Character Animator Now I know you can fix it by dragging all the different parts of the body back to the correct position but I want to know if there's a way to prevent this from happening in the first place. I should also mention that this only happened to independence layers that had the symbol in the layer name. I had this problem whenever I add some new layers to the hand/head or the body in Ch Preview 3, 4 and CC 2017 (Beta). If anyone had any idea on how to prevent this from happening, I'll greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
hi, how do i export my scene with a transparent background? In media encoder it renders with a black background. I'd like to open it in final cut pro x. thanks
HelloI have installed Adobe Character Animator, and when I tried to run the features of this program, the next message appeared on my screen "OpenGL setup failed. Updating your graphics card driver may fix this issue".I have an Intel HD(R) grapichs family, with main driver "igdumd64.dll" version 8.15.10.2291.My system says that I have the last version of my graphic card driver, but I know that my laptop is old (also I have Windows 7) and searching on the internet I have found two download options for my driverDownload Graphic Driver version 10.18.10.3496 (2014) . Appears on HP web Download Graphic Driver version 8.15.10.2622 (2012). Appears on Intel webWhich one should I choose?Could I loose some functions if I do that? Thanks
Hi! I've been gone forever, but I'm back and trying my hand again at learning this awesome program. I've built this new Patrick puppet:So far, things are working pretty great with him, but I still have a lot to learn! One thing is how to get different areas to have different dangle effects. For example, the current settings are to accommodate his bandana tails. They have a nice little sway to them when he moves. I like it. However- now I want to add a little movement dangle to other areas like his back pan, his belt, his fork, spoon, pizza. When I add the dangle handle to those items, the same wind and gravity settings are applied to them. If I adjust it, it also adjusts for the bandana tails. How can I effect these items differently or independently of each other? For some, I kinda want a rattle effect more than a dangle. Like the back pan, I want to kinda sturdily rattle around when he moves instead of a squashy feel. I
Is there a maximum depth to the number of sub-layers (groups) in your puppet file that are eligible for enabling warp independent? It looks like you can only go 4 group levels deep and then the warp independent option goes away. Is that correct, or is there potentially another reason my hair strands in the file structure below don't have the warp independent "crown icon" option? I want the hair to warp independently so I can give it some dangle physics. Do I need to kill the "Hair and Crown" group folder in order to bring hair up a level in order to have the option to make the hair strands warp independently?
I've added an auto blink behavior to my puppet, but I can't figure out how to turn off the camera input blinks. Right now, I'm getting both the auto-blinks and the camera blinks. Here's what I've got set in the Properties panel. I figured the Camera Input blinks were coming from the "Face - Replacements - Blink Eyes Together" item, but that option isn't armed and I'm still getting camera blinks in addition to my auto-blinks. Is there another place I need to go to get the camera to disregard my blinks?
I understand and respect that talking about an upcoming release can be easily misunderstood."We're working on X" can be misunderstood to mean "There will definitely be X""I expect it will be ready by Y" can be misunderstood to mean "It will definitely be ready by Y"Still, any news? I've got some character animator tasks to do, and want to know if it's worth waiting for the update before starting.
Help!I don't know why it happened, but when I closed Photoshop it said 'save changes?' and I clicked 'yes'. The moment I opened After Effects to render my project, the body of my beaver appeared at another position than it should be. The eyes, mouth, eyebrows, dangling feather and fix points remained on the same place. When I opened Photoshop again everything was just normal. What can I do?Look at the pictures to see what I mean.Chris
Hi. I'm currently trying to create a Hula dancer. So many problems!! So many layers!!! I want everything to move with the body...hair, flower lay, grass skirt etc. But first thing first. I can't get my arms to move without detaching from the body! At first I had the arm layers behind the dancer's torso layer. I thought it was good until I tried to puppet the arms. The hands couldn't move in front of the dancer. So, I re-drew the arm sockets so that the arm layers could sit above the torso's layers. Now, even after stapling the arms to the body...It pulls away, leaving gaps. Finally, I made the arm layers part of the torso. Of course now, when I move the arms the body goes with them. Any other suggestions??P.S. I'm also having issues with the grass skirt, flower-lay and hair. It's a layering issue again. Thanks!

hi which is better camera or web camera for getting best result ii adobe charakter animator?thank for info
First off: Great work. I just come from binge watching all of Dave's tutorials and updates. I also spent a few hours playing with my first puppet. Now, my question has been asked in a specific way (regarding Korean), but I wanted to ask in a general way and provide feedback for languages more closely related to English. Here is what I found:English - as expected - works very well. In fact while exploring CH I ran the tutorials on a second screen, so the mic picked up the sound and had the puppet (with its own mouth design) rattling away. It looked quite good. When I tried a pre-recorded German track the result was mixed. The TH shape came up a lot for some strange reason, though the sound does not exist in German. On the whole it felt less accurate. In Italian I fared a little better with a sample I recorded. Now, I know tweaking can be done by altering the source shapes, inserting specific vismemes manually etc. My question is: Are there plans to work on the audio processing (auto lip s
As the title says. I have a series of images as a cycle layer, which are triggered and play as expected when the relevant key is pressed. However, I would like to pause the cycle midway (for example) by perhaps holding the trigger down, then have the remaining play when the key is released. Is this possible?
*this post was originally posted in premier forum, but was guided here because i was informed this would do what i needed to*I am completly new at Character Animator!but i would like to get something done i would like to make something that works kind of like a music spectrum, but looks nothing like it.Basicly i want it to be kind of like a small animation expample i have 2 images one with a image of a drawing with a closed mouth and one with an opened mouth.i whant it to outomatically show the image with an opened mouth when there is speaking and when in silence it shows the image with a closed mouth. So i would like a link to a tutorial on how to create the diffrent stages of the mouth movements, also a tutorial on how to import the audio to Character Animator so the mouth can be moved by the audio imported,i would like ideas on how i could do this so my intentions is making a face narrating the video so i would like to overlay the face ontop of a already existing and ready video. how w

Hi guys. I have a character holding a coffee cup. Her arm will be in front of her as she talks, and occasionally she'll lift the cup to her lips. However, to make this work I need the hand to rotate on its origin so the cup stays level as she raises it. Is this possible? I think it's an option in Duik, not sure if Character Animator can manage that. Also, is there a way to export tracking data with the animation back to AE, so I can have Particular make steam coming out of the cup? I can probably just track the cup and get the same results, but it seems like there should be a more elegant way.Really exciting new tool, though!
I know the answer is yes, but there is more to my question:My character has puppet arms stapled from the shoulders, so for the character to stand side on, both shoulders would have to come closer together. Is that even possible? My first instinct was to have it work frame by frame, giving the character maybe 20 different pairs of arms to tween from one to the other. However, those arms wouldn't know they're the same arm, so wouldn't behave as one.My next thought was maybe there was a way of just moving the shoulders, but I couldn't think of a way.The only way I can think of, is if I were to animate the entire body turning on its side as a fixed animation, and have the arms turn from a preset resting position, however that is a lot of work for very small payoff. Is there any other approaches?
