Hello! I have a gaming character on a gaming chair. I want to put the chair as something static though so that it doesn't move when I move. Can I bring that in as a background? I just want my puppet to move, not the chair. Thanks!
Hi all, First let me thank you all in advance for taking the time to read this and help me. I've just installed Character Animator and as soon as I open it can click on "Use Pro" or even click on one of the starter puppets I get this error message: I work from home and remote connect to my work network via VPN and the location seems to be pointing at a network location. I've gone through settings to see if I can change something to point it at my local drive in case that is the issue but I've had no luck. I've searched the forum also for others having similar problems but nothing has helped with this particular issue so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know how to extend the number of triggers using s Stream Deck? It's easy to assign keyboard triggers to a Stream Deck, but what I'm looking to do is extend the keyboard triggers with the Stream Deck. I've run out of keys on my keyboard for the number of triggers I want to set up and what to add more using the deck.
I have a couple of shareable puppets that are no longer showing any info under the puppet section in properties. It's still linked to the original illustrator file and the puppet works otherwise-- but since no info is showing, I cannot select the resolution preference, or change the linked file. Any ideas on how I can get this info to show up?
Hi everyone, I'm animating puppets being in a car right now,but the problem is that the seat and belt move with the puppets breathing/slight body movements. I can also add the seats afterwards in AE, but since the seatbelt is going under one arm and over the other, I need it to be within the puppet but not move at all. Is there any way I can do that? Thanks for any help! 🙂 "Gurt" is the seatbelt and "Sitz" the seat. I've made them independent and pinned them, but that doesn't make a difference regarding the movement.
I'm making dog puppet and wanna rigging now but having hard time to walk and drag my puppet @-@@ for dog walking I referred to the two videoshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwahIPo8Nm0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62NroCgZJKM in 23.1 version if i add limb ik, walking looks weird but dragginf works welland when i close eye of limb ik or remove that, walking looks good but dragging is like moving a wooden board.. haha. when drag, I want dog's feet to be on the floor.so i downgrade version to 22.4 bcz i had dragging issue with 22.4+ version before.in 22.4 only 1 leg working well... xD i don't know what i miss now.. can any help me?i just wanna do walking and dragfing at once also thanks for reading this and sorry for if there is wrong english in here..!
So I have a very large and very complicated puppet that runs very slowly when I try to game at the same time. Runs beautifully by itself with my 5950x and 3080. When Gaming and running CH my GPU utilization sits around 80 percent and CPU sits around 30 percent. So where do I need the headroom? Is CH CPU or GPU intensive. I need to build a second PC to handle CH and OBS exclusivly as a streaming set up. I really need to know if a nice CPU or GPU should be my priority for CH.
I'm having issues with my character animator puppet. I'm planning on using obs and gaming along with it. I'll admit it's a complex puppet but it's very clean, simplified and flattened. I get 24 frames constant, even when I'm pushing it to OBS and game running. The problem is as soon as I bring the game on my main monitor as my selected active application, my puppet goes from 24 frames to 5. I have a ryzen 9 5950x and 3080 card. CH only drops to 5 frames when my game is selected. Perfect any other time. Even as a background application any other program besides my game. I've tried giving CH CPU high priority and also GPU high performance priority.
Hi All! I'm loving the product! I'm pretty new to Ch.The tutorials are great. Here is my question:I am trying to open the Linden and Robot puppets or projects. Neither seems to work.I have downloaded the files from this site: https://pages.adobe.com/character/en/puppetsThey show up in my Downloads folder as expected. So I unzip them and wind up with a structure that looks like this:When I click on the Ch project icon to open it, I get an empty Ch project that looks like this:So where would I find the .puppet files for Linden and Robot? Did I miss a step? I was expecting to see 2 puppet files somewhere in the folders but no luck so far. I'm using an MS surface Pro 7 x64, 16 gig RAM, Windows 10. I'm trying to follow the tutorials and would love to get Linden open so I can follow the camera tutorial. Thanks A lot!!! Peter Hay
Hi! New user of Character Animator. The whole point was to create a character for my pc gaming. It runs at the fps I set in the software, but then I connect it to OBS, start the game and boom, frames drop to about 7. Has this issue been resolved? How do others livestream without having dropped frames? Thanks!
Hi.. recently purchased Character Animator... 2 things. I don't have the reset next to my webcam. Just calibrate. 2... I've downloaded the NDI tools and NDI for OBS and I still do not have the choice to select NDI. I've downloaded, installed.. uninstalled.. restarted my pc.. reinstalled - restarted... nothing. Help??
As you can see in the picture provided, none of the 3 parents are independent, and I put face behavior on Head and Body with different formula, because I want the head movement is not the same as the body; I want the body only to move slightly. There is a fixed stick on the Body to prevent the puppet from floating around because of the face behavior. Here's the problem:Even though I have put 2 different face behavior with different formula, only the one on the Head layer is used by Ch to treat the entire puppet, meaning the one on the Body layer is ignored (negated?). I assume that's because I does not tag the body as head, yet, therefore the face behavior on the Body layer does not know what to do because there is no head tag. However when I tag the Body layer as head, the face behavior on the Body layer works, but the problem is now the fixed stick is ignored/negated, causing the puppet to be floating around. Help please? Thanks!
I'm starting to develop Adobe Extensions and like to know, if it's possible to write scripts to Character Animator, as I'm doing for AE.Thanks.Rubens Nobre
Recently Character animator was running very slow every time I click something while Im in rig mode eny task or any thing I do with each click it lags and shows the loading circle This is a brand new computer so there is no reason for this to be happening but I have not been able to get any work done because literally every click makes it slow down even when its the only app running and on a brand new computer Is there any way to make it go faster ?
Hello all, I would love to know if anyone knows how to make a mask layer invisible while still keeping the content masked. Like an alpha mask in after effects. I have a shape I want to mask out when I move too far to one side, but for a mask to work, it has to be visible.Confused? Try it yourself. I'll use geometric shapes to make it easy. Make a puppet, make the head a (color) circle, make a white mask under the head a square, larger than the circle. Make a square body. Rig it up and look in the record, you still see the mask as you look around. Now try to hide the mask, if you figure out how, please tell me.If you are still confused, comment to me, and I'll try to explain it better.I guess you can also consider this a feature request. The ability to alpha mask or make mask invisible while still seeing the content show.
Hello, I'm having this problem (video attached) with the right arm of my character when I apply the preset animations, like the arm goes to the opposite side, or there seems to be something wrong, but I can't find what the problem is, not even in my rig or in the configuration.Could someone help me with this? Thank you

trying to start a project im trying ti upload a picture from my computer cant find it i searched it up in the search bar found it clicked on it nothing happened. I was able to upload the pciture below but cant open it in the animator
I'm trying to export a scene from character animator to premiere pro with a transparent background. When I use the media encoder with alpha channel it gives me an error saying it can't find the source file or can't connect to Character Animator. When I try to create a dynamic link in Premiere Pro, it says "Could not connect to Adobe Character Animator 2023. Please verify that Adobe Character Animator 2023 is installed." I have uninstalled and reinstalled Character Animator and it is still giving me the same error. I'm using v 23.1 of Character Animator, Media Encoder and Premiere Pro.
I created all my mouth movements and imported successfully. When testing the webcam and mic in STREAM mode it's picking up my mouth movements but they aren't holding on the shape and the mouth continues to move for a few seconds after i finish talking. For example if i hold an "oooooooohhh" sound and mouth position it jumps around wildly flickering to a bunch of different mouth positions and only displaying the Oh for 1 frame.
Hi all. I'm using the Figgy character from Puppet Maker. When using with a webcam, I can turn my head and the character will do the same (the default is facing straight ahead). Is there a way to setup the character so I can control the head turn with either the keyboard or mouse instead?
I want to do a live streaming broadcast as a character animator. I want to show my computer screen and my character in the lower left corner. Is this possible?
I respectfully and earnestly ask the person in charge of development at Adobe. I suggest that you separate the live stream functionality from adobe character animator. I suggest providing an easy and simple application dedicated to live streams and thinking about a separate pricing policy for it. If you do, you'll get the admiration and active use of a huge number of virtual streamers around the world. And I want you to be able to incorporate puppet into that simple application. If so, maybe this could create another Adobe ecosystem.
Is there a way to define keyboard shortcuts to arm specific behaviors for recording? For example, ctrl+shift+d to arm draggers, ctrl+shift+t to arm triggers etc... Even better if I could define custom shortcuts for my own behaviors! So is that possible? Would have greatly sped up the animation workflow...
All of the models presented with Character Animator have specific built-in personalities and styles that each represent some other designer's idea of what a character entails. In order to create a generic character, I have to disassemble the existing characters and still find that each of them have their own quirks and implementations. I really just need a generic model that I can add clothes to, modify their bodies to my preference, add or modify facial features. It seems like the very first model that this software should provide is the generic, genderless model with very few features. Does anyone know where I could find such a thing? It's for a personal project, so I don't want to purchase one. Surely some generous soul out there has created a basic model facing forward and sideways that we can use in Character Animator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
