I've built an external application interface for a client regarding their specialized usage of connect. A number of users in our organization can no longer view Adobe Connect 8 recordings. Flash player opens, we see the connection, but then all we see is a gray screen. I updated my Flash player to 10.3.181.34 and installed the Connect Add-In, rebooted, changed cache to update every time I visit the page, cleared cache, etc. Still nothing but a gray screen. Problem started very recently. Browser is IE 7 on Windows XP. Any help greatly appreciated.Tim

With the new update in Adobe Connect 8, the emoticons have changed - the green check/red x have been replaced by thumbs up/thumbs down.  The new emoticons are very useful in some circumstances but for some activities like competitions and dual group activities, the check/x was very nice to break up groups in the attendee list without the odd connotation that thumbs down brings.Is it possible to change the emoticons, somehow add the check/x, etc?  Any ideas would be appreciated.thanks

Hello everybodyCan somebody tell me why some grafics or diagramms completely disappear after uploaded PowerPoint presentations to Adobe Connect 8.1?I thought this problem should be solved in Adobe Connect 8.0. Why did it happen again?

I'd like to run and download a report that lists the completion status for each student in each course enrolled. I can do it one student at a time, but the output is not downloadable. I'm using the Adobe Connect standard tools off the UI. Is there a more sophistocated way to access the content in the Adobe Connect database? This is pretty useless as is for what I need. A simple report will probably take a day's worth of manual labor... unless I'm compleley missing something. Thanks, Sherry

I created PPT in Articulate utilizing Engage and 3rd party audio files.  I loaded them into Adobe connect as a curriculum.   Everything looks good.  However, after I take each course, some of the courses have a 'pause" symbol instead of a "green check mark."  Because the system will not recognize the completion of the coures, students cannot continue to the next course on curriculum that has pre-requisites.  Has anyone experienced this or help?thanks,Kelly

Actually, I'm using the low-end Connect Now for mostly one-on-one stuff with my clients.The software always saw and made use of my old Logitech camera. I've upgraded to a Microsoft LifeCam. But that camera doesnt come up (show an image) in Connect Now. Anyone have a clue?

The instructor side is a mac.  I can get more info on that later.  My system is a windows 7 based unit using Firefox 5.0. I will fill that in later but suffice it to say that all software is up to latest versions on both sides.Using Adobe Connect for an online class, the instructor's Mac computer kept crashing. He could conduct the class for about 10 minutes.  Meanwhile, I saw that when he was connected, my system would slow down to slower than a crawl.  If I were to type in these three lines, it would take 3 - 4 minutes just to show up on the screen. When his system crashed, my system would run fine and, as I was still linked to Connect I could talk and chat with the other students. I have the windows tachometer on the screen and it is pinned while he was on line and scarcely above 10 when he was not.Does this make any sense?When I check the task manager, it showed that Plugins_container.exe was taking up the CPU time.  I looked into defeating the Plugin-Conta

We are planning on using recordings of interviews conducted as Connect Meetings to be accessed publicly through our website.  Is there an available mechanism through which to embed the recorded meeting playback within a page on our website, so that the viewer doesn't have to leave our site to watch the recording?   Also, where can I find out about the Adobe server limitations regarding account storage capacities and duration (i.e. length of time stored)?  The quality of the playback off the Adobe server is much better than we can get by downloading the .flv and repackaging it, so we plan to use that option, provided it can accommodate our planned usage.  Thanks for any viewpoints on this.

Good DayI have an Adobe Connect recording (of a training that took place), that I want to make available off line. I can view the recording via Adobe's Media player but the learners do not have the media player.I then went to Adobe's Website to download the latest version. On the home page (middle right), one can see a section "Download", I clicked the "More" button (to the right of "Download"), but nothing.I eventually found info on Adobe's Media Player, BUT it is not good i.e. it says that they do not support it anymore.That is a bummer.... where to from here? How do I get my learners to view an FLV file?Then to make matters worse I opened the video clip in Adobe Premeir only to find out that it does not import the audio. I then imported it into Adobe Media Encoder (to convert it to a wmv). No luck. It seems to leave the audio out all the time.Anybody out there able to answer these two questions?Dimitri

Every time I try to log onto a meeting with my iPhone it tells me there is a Network Error. From what I have read on other fourms there is a "Secure Login" setting which must be unchecked in order to stop this error. What I need to know is where this setting is? Does the host have to change this setting or is it in the App? Where? No one seems to be saying where the setting actually is.

Hi there,last presentation i had the following problem. I was logged in as a host and participant and started to play a small flv file.In my host window video&audio were perfectly sync, but not in the participant window. changing the participant into host and play the file again did solve the problem.I hope there is someone who has suggestions to solve this problem.Thanks in advance.Frank Schel

Is it possible to put all live chat comments in a moderation queue where they must be approved before they are displayed?  Trying to avoid situations where unpleasant comments appear during celebrity chats.

Hello all,    I'm 100% new to Adobe Connect development and 90% new to flash in general. I'm fairly surprised at the lack of resources I've been able to google up about Adobe Connect plug-ins, but maybe someone here can help. I want to modify the existing "Attendee List" pod, specifically I want to add another icon to the popup when you hover over an item in the list that would open up the person's default browser and direct them to a specific page.What I'm really looking for is an "Is this possible? or do I have to create a new pod to do it?" I have been having trouble with Connect 8 (did not have the problem with the previous version--those recordings still work fine) for several weeks now. The problem is that recorded lessons that use PPT slides in the share pod do not playback reliably.  Sometimes they don't play at all; sometimes the audio plays but not the video; sometimes they run for several minutes with no video or sound and then start up.  I'm going nuts, and I'm embarrassed as the course instructor.  These are supposed to be sophisticated online courses. One client has already forbidden me to continue using Connect.  I've tried everything the technical support staff have recommended, and it does not help.  I have tried using different computers--same results.  Then I tried another party's version of Connect Pro, and it worked fine.  I think the problem is in the update.  Can I go back to the previous version?  I'm dying here, and my livelihood is now on the line.

Can we build Flex pods using RSL's for Connect 8? Does Connect 8 use the RSL, meaning that by loading connect itwould save load time for my pod? What about the addin, would it still be compatible?

I am trying to Share Document with a PDF that is 500k and I get a failed message that reads:Adobe Connect could not process this document for viewing. Try uploading the file again or use screen sharing to view this PDF instead.I do not want to use screen sharing. 500k seems pretty small to have an error message. Is there a solution or work-around for this?Thank you in advance for any advice you can provide!Karen

As a host I cannot disable individual participant audio in breakout rooms.  Or can I?  I can't see how to do this.This is necessary, as there is always one user who is using speakers and creating terrible feedback problems in the room.  The ability to disable audio on a per-user basis during breakouts would allow me to find the offending user and force them to use chat.Am I missing something?PH

Please can someone give me some advice asap?!I am not familiar with overally technical terms or phrases, so am looking for a very basic/simple explanation as to the differences between Illustrator and In Design from my Adobe Design Standard CS4 suite.I want to be able to create and/or change/manipulate documents in PDF format.Generally this would involve adding/removing/amending text or images. Some of the documents would be sent in for amending etc from a 3rd party and could be recieved in PDF format due to being scanned etc.I need to research training courses on the most appropriate prgramme - from what I understand Illustrator is more relevant when creating Logos or imagery, In Design or more focused on the creation and/or manipulation of documents designed for print/web etc.....Any advice would be really appreciated.

Hello,It seems that something has changed recently with the Adobe Connect Webservices API. In the past, when I would call 'principal-update' to create or update a user, I would sanitize all my strings using urlencode() in PHP, which takes any non-alphanumeric characters (or dashes and underscores) and "percent encodes" them. For example, a "@" character in an email address becomes "%40".This is important especially in the case that a string contains an ampersand (&) or question mark (?) since those characters are used to pass the parameters themselves in the URL string.This has always worked fine until I noticed a few days ago it was no longer working.If I attempt to create a user with an email address formatted with the "%40", Connect now comes back with an error message saying it wasn't formatted properly. Removing the encoding fixes the problem. However, this is NOT best practice. And especially for passwords, which could theoretically contain ampersands and question marks, you
