Hello all, Is there a simple way to limit access to Breeze/Connect Presenter presentations to self-enrolled users who get the admin's approval? What our instructor would like to do is post a link to a presentation, then have users self-register and she'll approve them. She doesn't want to pre-enroll users or maintain the user accounts after verifying completions. Any suggestions for how best to do this without too much complication? I've been advised that creating an Event (with the presentation as the event content) and inviting users as guests is one way to do it, but it seems counterintuitive to create an event for asynchronous training, not to mention confusing for the end user. Hello Group: I recently got set up with Adobe Presenter and I am trying to customize the theme of my presentation. I went in and set up a theme through theme editor and checked the Presenter Name and Presenter Logo checkboxes. When I go into publish, under "Presentation Information" Presenter name is set to None. I can't click on it to change it. If I click on "Server Settings" the correct presenter is listed. When I publish the presentation neither the Presenter Name or Logo show. Only the title of the presentation shows. Suggestions?

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help. I need to load a captivate .swf video into a Share Pod in a Breeze Meeting. The video loads, but I see now way to control it. I inserted a Play button on the first slide, so I can click that to start it, but there is no way to pause or rewind. We previously used Captivate 2 which embeds the playback controls in the .swf, so that even when viewed in Breeze Meeting, the controls are visible. In Captivate 3, the video controls seem to be in a separate .swf file. So I need to either: 1. Be able to load the second .swf, with the controls, into the Breeze Meeting room and have it control the video. 2. Embed the controls into the original .swf file so that they appear in the Breeze meeting. Help! Ken

Hi there, i have uploaded a FLV file to the Content Library and then wanted to share it in the meeting room. But even though I could upload it, i could even have connect to open a display with a playback controler, BUT THE VIDEO DOES NOT PLAY. The display is black. I know I could take advantage of converting the video to SWF format, but that DOES NOT GIVE ME THE PLAYBACK CONTROLER. So this way I have the video but i cannot pause it, rewind it etc. And what Im really after is that controler cause I do not have the capacity to be creating all the video file into swf and addind some controlers manually. So I wonder why the FLV (native flash video format) does not play correctly in Connect meetings. I have workshops where video is very important but I need a tutor to control the playback. And at the same time I need the tutors to prepare their videos themselves and I cannot ask them to develop some extra SWF VIDEO CONTROLERS ... so what do I do with my FLV?? thanks for advice

I would like some help with adobereader 8 , I need this for schooling over the net to be able to send and receive homework. My computer came with adobereader 8 and I'm not to sure what to do or how to use it, The school said I need adobe arobatreader pdf, I am lost with this and what I need or should do to get this program to work in order to do schooling online. in trying to print directly to my printer, the program now instructs to print to a file and ask for a file name. i don't want to "print to file". this is something new and i wonder if anybody has experienced the same problem and can help me solve it.

Is anyone having problems with the reporting feature in Connect Training? We have noticed that when we pull up different reports in Training the certificate number is different. We have created 8 modules in for a curriculum but the only one that we really need is Module 8 since it has the test. is there anyway to have a complete report that shows passed or failed and anyone that has not completed the full curriculum on one report. At this time we are cutting and pasting 2 different reports. thanks

I trialed Adobe Acrobate pro 8.1 and found joboption PDF/X1a:2001 but I bought standadard version and it only had PDF/A-1b:2005. What is the differences and is there a way to download PDF/X1a:2001 someplace.

PDF how to use spell check function, why i can't find it?

I just upgraded to word 2007 and have acrobat pro 7.0.0. I can't figure out how to save a document as a pdf! Adobe Acrobat Pro shows up as an add-in in "word options" - Add-ins, but there is no add-in tab, and I can't find any way to actually use it!!! Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would like to do two distinct things at two different times: 1) compare info simultaneously using acrobat professional 7.0 from two separate pdfs.; 2) create two applications of acrobat professional (similar to Microsoft Word) on one screen so all I have to do to access the other pdf is by clicking on the bottom bar of Windows

When I insert a link eg, url http://www.dwave.com.au in a page of Word, PDFWriter will convert it to an active link. When I use the form click here and install the hypertext under the word here, on conversion, the links do not convert to active links in PDF files. Is there a way to overcome this? I've tried Adobe's automatically create links in documents feature and it doesn't work on these types of link. Regards

Sorry for posting this on the Professional forum, but the regular Acrobat option was not available. I have Acrobat 8.0 Standard. When I go to save a Word doc as fully functional PDF, it doesn't do anything. If I select Quick and simple PDF, it works fine like always. Does anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to get the fully functional option working? Thanks very much.

Hi Friends, I am using Acrobat 5.0. I know it is old. I have created a multi-page PDF doc filled with Form Fields. I have populated the Export Value in each of the Form Fields. My boss now wants the Export Value(s) for each of the Form Fields to populate another document. The "other" document would have cells that would be populated by the Export Values from the original PDF document. I would think kind of like a 'link to target' set up. Does anyone know if this is doable in the manner I am describing? Or if anyone has a suggestion I would be most grateful to hear from you. Many thanks in advance for your time.

Hi Friends, I have a PDF document containing a variety of Form Fields. I am using Acrobat 5.0 – yes I know it is old. Can someone please tell me… is it possible to have a Check Box Form Field, that when selected generate a line of text elsewhere in the same document? I have tried to clone a Form Field and then change its properties to TEXT instead of CHECK BOX but that did not work. I have read some of the HELP files and understand that using a line of Java might do the trick, but I am Java challenged. Any help or tips would be more than greatly appreciated. Hi, I have some documents that have a watermark on that I added. The documents were converted from TIFF to PDF using Acrobat. The settings for the watermark are: Show when printing "CONFIDENTIAL" as text Font Arail Size 72 Color: grey Rotation: 55 degrees Opacity: 54% The documents are very long (150+ pages). When I try to print the documents with the watermark, I get an error message that says "document could not be printed." If I remove the watermark it's OK to print. We are on Adobe 7.0.9. Any ideas??? We've tried various HP printers that we have.

I am a beginning user of Acrobat Professional. It was my understanding that you could "unmake" *.pdf files to their original formats. However, when I SAVE AS a Microsoft Word file, the *.pdf becomes a picture inside of the word document. How can I get the word file so that we can use it as usual. I have a word document that i want to convert to .pdf, i am using adobe acrobat version 8.0. On my word doc i have a footer with the page description and page number but when i convert it to pdf form my footer has numbers and letters next to the page description, for example: 2B "page description" .................................................page#" So when i go back to my word doc the 2B is originally not there, only appears in my pdf form. These different numbers like 12C, 2B, 3B etc...are on my footer on every other page. How can i delete this so it will not appear on my pdf form, is this a certain setting in word or adobe? pls help...

We have training that has to be retaken by users every two/three years. Is there a way to track this in Connect? So we can flag a course has being good for two years? Then run a report or send email to notify us? Thanks, Rick

RANT FOLLOWS I recently registered Adobe Pro 8, my personal copy after buying 30 copies for my firm. I got an email saying I could select a free benefit, if I registered, and so I selected "Free 90-day web conferencing trial with Adobe® Acrobat® Connect™: Collaborate instantly with small teams, colleagues and customers through easy-to-use, easy-to-access online personal meeting rooms." I thought, well, it is probably too much trouble, but I will try it out and give it a chance. So, I dutifully clicked on the link and filled out a form that said "Your 30 day trial" at the top. I thought, uh 90? When you fill out the form, it says you have 15 days remaining. Uh, 90? So, I thought, ohhhh their database is screwed up, I will get someone to help me. I called the number on the email, and a nice fellow kept saying, No, that is a 30 day trial. Well, someone is lying here... I currently am trying to publish my presentation using .FLV files as talking heads, and it works perfectly when published locally. However, when I attempt to publish the presentation to the web server, only a small amount of the slides are playing their .FLV video, and most of them are not. I first used Flash Video Encoder (which was included with Flash CS3) and Sorenson Squeeze for Flash (non VP6 codec @ 512K) to convert .MPG files to .FLV for publication. Neither option worked, and now I'm pretty much stumped. Can anyone help me get these videos working? Thank you.
